Seconde Peau

Guess I will go first. I picked a sample of this up at courrèges boutique in Paris in Le Marais. Seconde Peau is an apt name because it has very little sillage but it definitely has longevity making it a truly "second skin" fragrance. I should start out by saying I LOVE vetiver so if you don't you should move on. However most fragrances that are vetiver heavy where the note is unmistakable I usually cannot wear because I find them too masculine and that is just not me. This might be the absolute perfect vetiver fragrance for me. This perfume creates an aura or personal space cloud. It starts off with the smokier earthy facets of vetiver and evolves into a nice very dry greenish rooty vetiver. Soft, close to the skin yet fresh/woody. There is a very slight saltiness here that I just LOVE. Never sharp never loud and it doesn't smell like aftershave. My partner has a bottle of Encre Noir and I have a sample of Perles de Lalique and I can assure you that none of these fragrances smell like Seconde Peau. Seconde Peau smells very modern very courrèges - very unisex. I might have to get the full bottle.

I am the type of person who never tries perfumes on my own skin, I don't like most perfumes, and the only two I have I've been repurchasing since 2017 I think, and haven't deviated since. NOW here I am at a store and the elegance of this bottle really catches my attention, I love the color, I love the simplicity of the packaging, and the fact that they make candles probably made me investigate it more than just admiring a beautiful bottle of perfume from a distance. So I did the unthinkable and sprayed the perfume on my own skin, I just had a feeling about it, and I was not disappointed! I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist, it was like I was addicted to my wrist! I walked out of that store without buying it because I thought I am not the type to have 3 perfumes in my possession, I'd get confused and end up wearing none of them, but two months later I am not certain that I can find a place for it in my humble collection of 2 signature scents!

There is something about a fragrance that can feel so specific yet also quite fulfilling. Such is that of Seconde Peau, which while delivering a "second skin" also takes me to two places: the ink christening on paper of a new bounded journal and pine trees in the chilly air. Its apparent intimacy deceives, as while its sillage is polite, it really does seem to enhance the smell of my body in a way few perfumes, out of thousands I've smelled, mind you, can. I have a brand new Moleskine in my hands, my favorite Pilot G2 Rollerball Pen, Black Ink, 0.5 mm, and I begin to write my thought onto this snow white paper for the first time, secluded in the pitch pine-scrub oak barrens of Sudbury, MA. Seconde Peau is the smell of me, and of the ink from the pen, the pages in that Moleskine, the trees, the fallen needles, all the surroundings, maybe even the wool sweater I wear, as the temperature is no more than 50°F (10°C).

Soapy, fresh tea, a LOT of musk, and some sweet, translucent pine akin to the pine note in Parole d'Eau. I really like this scent, as a functional but beautiful cheapie. It cannot possibly offend, but it's not boring, and I suits anywhere anytime. I can even tolerate this when I'm sick, which is quite unusual for me. One thing I really like about this is that in the drydown a smoky vetiver comes forward and the soapiness is gone, so it's a real transition, but it's cohesive due to the musky element, which remains throughout. I find all of the Courrèges perfumes I've smelled have a really good quality to price ratio and don't smell like anything else. Their musk is the DNA that links them all. It's a very nice and underrated line.

Honestly this one is great. I agree with the comment that said it smells like you entered white lotus resort. I love to combine it with Elizabeth Arden Sakura green tea just to make it more feminine. I still think it's more masculine, but if you want to smell a bit niche sexy that's a good affordable choice. One of the best from Courreges in my opinion.

This is smooth and silky and almost sinks in , like smooth almond butter . It is so addictive and I feel I am its only audience , because the projection isn’t that great . I don’t care it is yummy and I wear it on lazy sundays when I don’t feel like doing shit.

Love this one it is so nice. I wouldn't say its feminine but personally I love more masculine leaning scents for myself. If you like Diptyque fragrances I feel like you would appreciate this one.

Transparent Woods This fragrance may appear simple on paper, featuring notes of tea leaf, pine wood, and vetiver, but it offers so much more. The name suggests it’s meant to be a skin scent, yet it diverges from the usual approach of layered musks. Seconde Peau beautifully blends the wood and leaves in a calming way. While Seconde Peau is entirely unisex, it might lean slightly masculine due to its foresty, outdoor vibe. The fragrance doesn’t project much; but it’s not intended to. If someone is close enough to catch a whiff of it, they are likely to be drawn in for more. This is a fragrance you wear for yourself—a second skin.

a leathery vetiver buoyed by cool tea lightness. Definitely see the relation to encre noire, the vetiver is the same but seconde peau has none of the black pepper.

I think this is the weakest fragrance I've ever owned. It's not the same as, but it's got that kind of vibe you get with Glossier You, JHAG Not a Perfume, Commodity Milk- (I think it's that one..I'll have to check my mini bottle when I get home) - but add a bit of piney, woodyness, balanced with a bit of vetiver and very subtle spice. It's not a blast of inky vetiver like you get with Encre Noire...it's just sitting quietly in the base. The pine is not loud or strong either...it's very subtle...I think some people wouldn't even identify it as pine. There's something sweetening it up that's slightly resinous too but I cant tell what it is...it's all just so quiet. I don't get tea at all, personally. For some reason it reminds me of a few thing... • the taste of licking the glue on an envelope - which I love • a little like a less spicy version of Boucheron - Jaipur Homme EdP • a gorgeous spicy exotic expensive soap - not the generic "dove" type soapyness It's absolutely lovely, totally my kind of thing...BUT...it's so weak you may as well not wear it. 7 sprays all over my (reasonably hairy) arm and I can only smell it when I get about 5cm away. Really disappointed because it's actually gorgeous.

The name is really what let me down for this one, I was expecting an interesting skin scent, a "second skin", but what I got is much more green and zingy, more of a punch up the nostrils instead of the gentle scent I thought I would get. I got a dual wallop of pine and vetiver, and I can kind of sense the tea struggling in there to be perceived, but it's really fighting to be smelt. The tea note itself is lovely, but I feel it doesn't truly get to shine because the other notes are too overpowering. I wish they could be dialed down a tad, particularly the pine, so that I could smell the tea more. It's not a bad scent, earthy and foresty, but it could be better balanced.

This is nice, but it's a little too masculine leaning for me. The name is also confusing - this isn't something I would consider a "second skin" type of scent. It's a very aromatic, deep green scent with earthy pine facets and vetiver. Reminiscent of an evergreen forest.

Similar to Encre Noir but toned down in volume by a lot, and less inky and mysterious. This is essentially a soft vetiver with a tea note and a subtle pine aroma that you might mistake for a candle. It's mildly sweet in a natural-feeling way, possibly from cashmeran, which I find similar to EN as well. I'm really surprised at the reviews here stating it's not similar or only a little similar to the Lalique perfume actually. The biggest difference is that this feels equally balanced between tea and vetiver, but they are both cold and earthy and have some overlap. This comes across a bit lighter and fresher because of that, but I find tea notes like this to feel flat and artificial. Overall hard to notice even on skin. I want to say it's not worth the price but I won't deny I enjoy this genre of scent. However, like other Courreges scents I think they are a bit undeveloped and minimal to a fault.

EDIT: my brother LOVED it and he complimented me so I gave it to him 😅. Glad he took it from me. What a mistake I did buying this blindly lol. This smells like dry papers and something like rotten herbs. I might use it as a room refresher.😣

Tried it many times in perfume stores but always got told by the assistants that it smelled weird and austere. Still, i could never get it out of my mind, till the day i finally got it. I find it unisex and all year round. It's an intimate scent that smells comfy, effortlessly classy and futuristicly woody, you could even say leathery but like a subtle refined texture. Its not written in the notes here but it has ambroxan in it, check the official page of Courrèges. Second skin is a fittin name cause it's very envelopping and it mixes so well with ones skin scent. Another minimalistic scent that I love.

Seconde Peau is not a common musky skin scent. It opens with bergamot, patchouli, and musk, with some floral vibes. This is the only part I enjoy. Then the patchouli gets blended with some herbal tea and inky pine. I can only recognise the tea with hints of the pyramid, which is artificially fresh. There are also some powdery feelings, making the whole fragrance more resemble cleaning products. However, even with the pyramid at hand, I can hardly sense any vetiver here. Instead, the base smells like some wet paintings. I have nothing against synthetic/futuristic fragrances, but this is not pleasant.

A sweet woody vetiver with the freshness of pine needles and the simplicity of CK One. Hints of Encre Noire, but no darkness. It is in fact even less complicated than a Roger & Gallet eau, full-bodied, but light, even when accidentally a rubbery facet shows up. Its purpose? To make your skin naturally woodier. More perfume-like than an Escentric, but equally minimalistic. This time, I really believe there are actually three notes only. You may find it too light. An Ensō brush stroke of a perfume.

This is fluffly, green, powdery but also sweet. It feels like it has some ambroxan or something similar to it. It is unisex, but more androgynous than expected. It kind of reminds me of Orpheon by Diptyque but somewhat diluted. It's an interesting scent.

"Your skin but better" if you were a tree. Usually don't like these types of scents but something about this one is really clicking with me. Very light projection as you would expect but respectable longevity at 5-6 hours or so.

This is nice. It’s a dark green fragrance, really woody. The name is misleading, this is not a skin scent. It’s a strong male fragrance, for mature, secure men. It’s really worth trying.
