Caribbean Island Wild Flowers

Mon Dieu. I've never have a perfume working so well with my own scent. It smells very green on me, with a hint of tomato. Reminds me of my childhood opening canned tomatoes - tomatoes submerged in brine.

I was given a small bottle of it as a free gift when buying other C&E products and I expected a cloyingly sweet tropical floral. It isn't - it's quite fresh (though I don't get the citrus but greenish, herbal notes), light and pleasant. No complexity and very little staying power, but pleasantly and surprisingly inoffensive if way too young for me. I could imagine using it if I ever took off 25 years in age, 40 pounds in weight and had time to spend walking along a beach in a breeze, wearing a flowery but tasteful sarong . As it is, I've passed it on to the 16yo who likes it on her sunnier days. 5/10 for me personally

According to Crabtree and Evelyn this is India Hicks Island Living Spider Lily renamed. Not certain it is exactly the same, the top notes seem more citrusy and the dry down less complex.It is still a nice fragrance but not sure I will buy again, as after a very short while it turns into a paler shade of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue.

I don't get the association with other fragrances i.e. D&G Light Blue because I've never worn that frag so for me this is it's own unique scent. I'm a perfume slut for white floral tropical flowers, exotic fragrances that smell like islands and beaches in the Caribbean or the Greek islands. This is a fresh aquatic floral scent to wear to the beach, on a cruise ship, on a yacht, and in the summer time it's a breath of fresh cool air, a scented sea breeze. The opening is absolutely refreshing like scented water on your skin. It smells of citrus, a mélange of oranges, bergamot and lots of lemon. It's definitely a skin freshner. It's a citrusy-floral toilet water or eau de toilette that elevates your mood and makes you feel great, ready to take on your day. But it's crying vacation and summer getaways. It's also something to wear with a bikini and to a pool. The white florals include lilies and jasmine and nondescript white floral that might also involve white gardenia and tuberose, but it's subdued and sweet, soft, not at all the main attraction like the citrus and aquatic notes. Yes it might be similar to so many aquatic fragrances i.e. D&G Light Blue and Davidoff Cool Water Acqua di Gioia etc, but it's a pretty and well composed fresh fragrance. It doesn't have as much lasting power as I would like but I always reapply. I'm bringing it with me the next time I set sail.

I come back to this aquatic beauty time after time during the summer months. This is a special fragrance; a rare pearl among typical tropical florals. I get nothing of the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. Light Blue is tinny, and spineless. Crabtree & Evelyn’s Caribbean Island Wildflowers is rich, fresh, yet exotic, and very, very elegant. It has all the makings of a classic Chanel. Whispers of No 19 and Cristalle come to mind. With the first spray it feels like a fresh, bubbly, turquoise breeze, but then it becomes golden, and you smell the sun, the beautiful Spider Lily, Jasmine, and a hint of summer Gardenia. There’s a warm tropical spice or hint of musk holding it all up. There is mystery and magic swirling in this one. It always keeps me sniffing my wrist, and wanting more. The dry down is very intriguing, and the scent that lingers on my blouse is beautiful. The longevity is moderate, but it seems to dry down to an intoxicating skinscent, which is what works best for hothouse summers in the South. Even though this has a tropical, earthy vibe, it smells utterly expensive. This lovely fragrance would wear beautifully with cutoffs and bare feet on the beach, or a linen shift with pearls on Park Avenue. This gorgeous fragrance has sadly been discontinued. I have stocked up. It will always come out for the days of Summer.
