Himalayan Blue

One of my favorite tea scents, great for hot weather, refreshing, but neither linear nor dull. Mostly about black tea, a strong tea note reenforced by champaca, which has a tea nuance, and a strong green petitgrain. Not green tea, but a black tea perfume that has strong green backing. Not sweet on me, and between the leather and the patchouli, it leans unisex. I don't find the ginger in this one as strong as the ginger in something like Caron's eau Reglisse. The ginger is noticeable, spicy, and gives a little kick, but tends to come and go, paired with the florals more than the tea. A lovely rosiness as well, the rose absolute and the petitgrain with the pink pepper. Spicy, smoky, a distinct lemon, not sour, not musky, on a woody, ambery base. A fairly tame patchouli note, not that strong, but it helps longevity and projection, as many Crabtree & Evelyn perfumes lack both. I do not have any of the bath products, so can not speak to them, but I can say I don't feel that I need them to achieve what I want from this perfume. It lasts about four hours in summer, maybe six, so good for work. Office friendly, wears fairly close. Well named, as it is a very quiet, soft and serene fragrance, meditative, yet a little exotic.

One of my more interesting recent finds. Unique, uplifting and serene. I love to wear this on a crisp, clear and sunny winter's day. It really does create an image of the Himalayas - wide blue skies, crisp cold air, sleepy mountain huts, people gathering to share tea, and vibrantly colourful prayer flags. The opening is very much about tea and citrus but it's a slightly smoky tea scent that has faint fruity sweet overtones. The flowers aren't very dominant but seem to linger as it settles down. The drydown is quite lush in contrast to the astringent top notes. I do like patchouli but, for those that don't, there's not too much of it here. This lasts very well on my skin and I'm glad to have this in my collection.

I love this scent. I find it best when used in conjunction with the lotion. When I first got it, it was a blind buy. I was thinking blue, I got what I characterize as a energetic temple blend. Like hanging out with those outgoing and dancing monks that have obviously succumbed to the high altitude low oxygen air, and maybe are a bit sleep deprived and over caffeinated. A good time to be sure, but there could be more flowers. I always tend to blend my perfumes, and this I always wear with flowers, not rose, gardenia, magnolia or any other heavy flower. More of a wildflower or flower bouquet scent. And I especially love it with dandelion scents. CB I Hate Perfume's and Demeter's. FANTASTIC!

There are some fragrances that catch your attention at first sniff...this is not one of them! The enchantment it spins takes its own sweet time but when it does, it doesn't take you by surprise. It evokes a peaceful zen like quality of calm and beauty. If a smell can be described as 'tranquil' then this would be it but far from being boring like other tea fragrances out there, this has hidden floral depths and a dash of sandalwood thrown in for added mystery. An elegant tea-rose-citrus fragrance, it is slowly becoming one of my top choices for day wear especially in hot weather. Falling more in love, bit by bit everyday :)

The fragrance is unique and plesant, the dominant notes are tea and citrus, and the other unknown which I guess it's yellow champaca.(I don't know how it smells) It also contains a hint of bitterness, but it's a lovely one that make all things balance. Wearing this makes me feel like standing on the misty cliff in the morning, with relaxing cool wind blowing, and warm tea cup in my hands. It's fresh and serene at the same time. The scent is not old-fashioned, yet not modern, it just take you to the place where time doesn't matter, and I love it. Also long lasting on my skin.

Fresh,sweet delicate and pink peppery,I really love this underrated and unique scent. It's light,not cloying or headache inducing,calm and tranquil, perfect for spring or summer and makes a refreshing change from the usual fruity florals. I really wish they hadn't discontinued this,and in just over a year!! It's so annoying when you find a frag you really like and it vanishes from the shelves before you've even had chance to buy a second bottle.I hate limited editions for the same reason,so elusive.

To my nose this smells like fresh lemon tea with pepper notes. Alas, pepper is one of the notes that I do not particularly like and if it's too much in a fragrance I can't guarantee I wll fall in love with it. There are some days I love this, and there are some days I'm way too sensitive to pepper and don't like it on me. However, this is very inoffensive, quite linear I should say but all in all likeable. Some of my male mates liked it quite a lot. I'm guesssing they could have smelled the leathery powdery waves in it :)

This is surprisingly long lasting even though it's a EDT. Definitely doesn't smell like your typical perfume, it's very unique and if you're only into sweet scents then this might not be for you. However, I find it very calming- I personally use this as my pillow mist or when I want to meditate and relax. It's very modest, this could be a unisex fragrance in my opinion

The hand cream smells totally different from the perfume. I bought this because I loved how the hand cream smelled and was disappointed with the fragrance...will have to respray and come back to give a full description but I just want to warn people that if you get hooked on the hand cream, you unfortunately won't find its twin in the perfume. Available for swap!

I love this perfume! I got a sample of the hand therapy in the same collection - Himalayan Blue - and just had to try the edt as well! I am not disappointed at all but find it best layered with the body lotion, it gives the scent more depth. At first it can smell a bit too sweet, but that softens. I also plan to use it during summer when sweet perfumes are the best!

I was looking forward to trying this new frag; the notes sounded interesting, and I generally like the chypre type...but despite the intriguing name, there were no interesting moments...a very vague, indistinct opening, and that was as good as it got. Linear, no development, and lasting power incredibly short. What a disappointment.

I have to agree with melancholybaby: this is a very plain and simple scent. It't not very interesting and could be from any other label, e.g. a drugstore scent.

Disappointment - second name of this scent. Could be much more interesting with this pyramid. Flat and boring.

This is a citrus-woody scent and I can't imagine anyone wearing it when it's hot outside. This fragrance is way too intense for summer and daylight. The notes include three accords that I love- citrus notes, spiciness and woody notes- however, it seems that I will never get along with this perfume which is quite unexpected, since as I said it contains all the things I love in a perfume. Plus it's not sweet. And I mean at all. You will not get any hint of sweetness in this Himalayan Blue fragrance, it's all about citrus opening, spicy middle, which is due to ginger and pink pepper, and the woody drydown created by patchouli and leather. Perfect for a woman (or a man, it's quite unisex if you ask me) who can't stand sweetness and want an outstanding in nowadays floral-fruity fragrances perfume with a little bit of spice and a little bit of freshness.

(This review is based on the hand cream) I'm new to Crabtree & Evelyn but I have to say this smells wonderful! A very very serene powder blue scent. Almost smells like blueberries & soft musky powder.A "pillow" scent for sure! I will be eyeballing a full size bottle of the EDT sooner than later. Safe blind buy if you are familiar with Crabtree & Evelyn or L'Occitane.

Actually i bought this one for my sister in law but when i smeel it, I am Falling in Love with this smell.so i bought this one for me too ..First time u spray it smell fresh then become warm smell into my skin..Himalayan blue have unique tea scent than other perfume.

i am tea scents lover. this one is one of beautiful tea perfume i used to tried. i like how it reminds me of BVLGARI au the rouge. in my oppinion both are similar.

Excellent...relaxing tea scent.. The leather comes lingering but quiet potent too... Recommended for hot weather....

June 2013 - this is half price in Crabtree & Evelyn (UK shops). If it's your favourite, it's a good time to buy...

Fresh, underrated, relaxing. Didn't expect to love this one.
