Kashmir Musk

This is terrific stuff. It is warm, faintly floral, woody and slightly sweet and the musk is gently animalic without being at all skanky. Fans of Lorenzo Villerosi Musk, Goutal's Musc Nomade and Lutens Clair de Musc may well appreciate this. The musk is an ambrette type, smelling of warm skin with none none of the sharpness associated with white musk. I detect a touch of powdery iris and honeyed rose all laid upon a bed of sandalwood and a whisper of vanilla. It's beautifully blended. I'm astonished others don't find this to last, I can still smell it on my skin 12 hours after applying.

this opens with woods and spices and leans slightly masculine. the vanilla/tonka bloom a few minutes later and it gets more powdery and is starting to lean more unisex. it gets more musky/powdery/vanillic over time and while it is not a sweet vanilla, it warms up the perfume and improves it a lot. though i think the tonka is much stronger than the vanilla in this. very cozy in a way that's less sweet and more like a powdery incense with floral hints.

With high expectations, I purchased a full bottle of this juice hoping for a sensual musk with some animalic undertones. What I received was something completely different. This is a VERY cloying sugar and powder bomb with only a modicum of musk scent. Longevity is extended and because I rarely, if ever, spray my clothing, sillage remains indeterminate. Definitely leans towards a feminine perfume. If your thing is sweet and powdery, this may be for you, but if you are looking for a sexy musk, try Kiehl's Original Musk or, if you have some extra moola, splurge on a bottle of Malle Musc Ravageur. This one is not recommended.

I tried this in the Crabtree & Evelyn shop in St Helier when I was on holiday. I was looking for new perfumes as they are less expensive there than on the mainland. This one immediately caught my eye from their new "Perfumes of the Night Garden" collection. I gave it a good spritz and was mesmerized, it was everything I ever wanted from a perfume: powdery iris brought to life by exhilarating spices on a bed of silky musk. I was immediately transported to the Moroccan desert on a camel train beneath a violet night studded with brilliant stars. I would have happily stayed there all day spritzing away until I was drenched, had not the sales assistant approached with a steadying hand and brought me back down to earth. The next thing that brought me down was the price, £130.00, so I put it back on the shelf. An hour later and I was not sorry that I did, because beautiful though it was it had no lasting power, something that I find a lot in C&E perfumes, and I know that, had I bought it, I would have had to use a good tenners worth each time I used it. I have just checked out the price here and it is £140.00. So, unless you have very deep pockets, I would try it first to see how long it lasts on your skin before parting with your money.

My review below is from Oct, and with a Feb wear (bottle sitting on a dark shelf) this is much more interesting! Still massive incense/wood/spice but I get a Musc Raveageur twist and then the drydown is like Ambre Gris and the leathery/animal/powder of Shalimar. I am digging a cold weather wear. Heavy with sprays, excellent sillage for hours so far. Found online/ebay for $20-25 for 3.4 oz. A bargain for lovers of this type, but ridiculously not worth the retail mentioned in other reviews. I may grab a backup tho.

Cheap-ish blind buy- I love dirty musk! But this is more head shop/incense to me, along the same lines as Molinard Musc. As it moves along, it does smell like Ambre Gris by Balmain, which is OK by me since I sold my Ambre Gris. Def not a MUSK/animal scent. And nothing powdery. I may use this for layering, or sneak some Kiehl's under it.

This reminds me of Prada's d'infusion de iris (sth like that) EDT, the leathery and iris notes are very prominent, the perfume is quite musky as well. I find that for an EDP though it doesn't last long enough.

i can't say for sure if it's in any other stores (or if they do phone orders) but i just found this fragrance at the C&E outlet in seattle and it cost $25 :')

It's warm and pretty but also clean, fresh and mild. It's elegant and tame.. A good grown up scent that would be good for work.
