Sienna

Year's ago I never considered Crabtree fragrance's worth spending my money on. Not to long ago just before they discounted the juice I tried to get my hands on one but I had no luck. 3 years later, I finally acquired this juice and I realize that it has more to offer than what is being offered most department store fragrance today in the $100.00 price point. At first spray there's a decent aroma of leather combined with spicy blend giving a worthy quality thou it's not a major brand name. The leather note is a real deep attractive masculine aroma not that synthetic vib. Aside from the spicy notes I almost smell a hint of lavender with a sweet musky vib. Longevity and Silage is very good lasting about 6-8hrs Finally, I wish that I had grabbed several bottles way back, hindsight is 20/20. I'm glad I find a bottle, it's perfect during the fall and winter months. If you want something that isn't cloying but something that compliments you this juice will do just that. Unfortunately on EBay this juice is selling for as much $300.00 or more. Good luck finding a bottle. 9/10

This smells like responsibility, accountability, and masculinity. There are only a handful of fragrances that give a fatherly vibe, and this is one of them. My nose gets spices, citruses, coriander, IBQ, musks such as galaxolide and tonolide (IFRA restricted), oakmoss above IFRA, and completely banned musk ketones. Musk ketones mixed with castoreum and synthetic civet make it kinda animalic. Although I've never worn or tried this fragrance previously before purchasing it, it is strongly nostalgic. It's not just the connection to aramis (it's much much better imo), it's the smell of my father, his friends and older male relatives. You simply don't smell anything like this today, even when modern fragrance houses try to make vintage inspired fragrances, because these musks aren't around anymore. I have to be in the mood to wear this one not because it's challenging to me, but because it's truly a time capsule and makes so nostalgic. Masculinity and testosterone, but in a judicious and calming way.

This fragrance was amazing. Crabtree and Evelyn was at the forefront of the fragrance renaissance of the mid 1990's to early 2000's. Everything in their line was a classic. It's a tragedy that the company destroyed itself. What made it worse was that it felt almost intentional. I don't hold a grudge with many companies, but the execs at C and E callously wiped out a high-end brand in the space of a year or two. It was like Disney destroying the Star Wars franchise.

One of the most beautiful fragrances I've ever owned. Intoxicating, warm and mesmerizing without being big and in your face. It worked for every occasion and was an everyday scent for me. If you have wore/smelled this before you know exactly what I'm talking about. Heartbreaking that C&E are gone. I can dream that a decent clone house will pick this up.

I am female, but I do like wearing this fragrance when I have some sort of "businessy" thing (such as a job interview or a meeting with bigwig-types). It is very classic and warm and I think it works well on both men AND women.

Its amazing, warm but at the same time realy refreshing. The leather its pretty obvious but really well blended with the citrus and the spicy notes. its defntly a unisex frangrance, I will buy it this christmas!

A spicy warm leather citrus dream...it truly does smell like Proper English Gentleman. Very sexy. I sometimes sneak sprays of this for myself. :)

Down to my last half-bottle of what has been my signature fragrance for years. Shame C&E imploded.

Very proper English fragrance. Not overly anything, not too spicy, not too citrusy, just right. I have this as well in a shave soap in a teak wood bowl, highly reccomended. Sometimes classics really are the way to go, especially when this affordable.

A good, wearable leather scent. The very first time I smelled it, it reminded me a bit of Chanel Antaeus - but it's less complicated. Longevity is good, sillage isn't, particularly.

This reminds me of vintage Paul Sebastian, at least in terms of construction (I have vintage Sienna). That is, it's kind of "blob" but it has a simple yet effective dynamism. It smells natural, pleasant, rich, and a bit heavy, but don't expect clear notes, other than an ambery quality that never gets too sweet or powdery. Because of the amber, I can understand those who say this has unisex potential. I was hoping for a leather note that had more clarity, but since I already have scents like that, this is something that might find a place in my large rotation, due to its uniqueness. If The Knize Ten is far too harsh for you, this one might work out well. I have no idea what the liquid pictured in the bottle above smells like, so keep that in mind. And lastly, I agree with those who say it would be nice if this was a bit stronger. UPDATE: Unlike with the Paul Sebastian I have, far into the drydown, this one seems to really "bloom." The musk and dry woody/leathery quality is quite nice. The notes are still quite blended, which I generally don't like, but here it seems to work.

Wonderful fragrance for men... sadly discontinued. Sienna by Crabtree & Evelyn is a wonderful, traditional masculine combination of citrus, herbs and soft leather. The lemon is fresh, and the herbs such as rosemary, basil and clary sage give a nice feel and touch to the smooth leather note underneath, all resting on a nice base of oakmoss and patchouli. I use the shaving soap for this (in addition to the Eau de Toilette) and it smells amazing! It's sad that this one was discontinued recently because it really smelt more expensive than it was. Like a very expensive, clean luxurious soap with herbs, leather and spices. Wonderful stuff. This was made to smell like medieval Italy (the city of Sienna), but actually it smells like really expensive soap... in fact the best! I am a little sad that Crabtree & Evelyn discontinued this one (as they did with so many of their "better" fragrances. Mais c'est la vie!

In the wake of C&E going under yet again, I revisited my cherished bottle of Sienna that I bought on clearance in about 2013. Had I known what was coming for both C&E and Sienna, I would've bought everything they had. As it is, all I have left is a bottle of this and 2 bars of the soap. Simple, very effective, this is my favorite of C&E's scents by a mile. A subtle (in the best way) spicy, leathery, soapy blend that is effortlessly classy. A man's scent that smells sophisticated and clean, smells expensive without being so. It doesn't need a complex tree of notes because it accomplishes what it sets out to do. I have gotten so many compliments from women while wearing this because it's so warm and inviting, without being showy. I'm kicking myself that I didn't stock up on every product in the range when they were still around. If C&E manages to get revived for a 3rd time, I hope they bring this back.

This is/was my favourite scent out of the men's range at C&E. Sad to hear it has been discontinued. I've tried the eau de toilette and soap - both were superb. Very masculine...woody, earthy, leathery, herby and powdery. If I could set a scene to match this fragrance it would be like walking into Penhaligon's at St. James Street, London. Sort of traditional, old world vibe, gentlemen with mustaches and monocles wearing top hats; coach and horses out front...

I like well-made and balanced leathery scents such as English Leather, Versace L'Homme, Bel Ami(Hermes). That`s why I bought Sienna (C&E)for my husband as everyday scent. Sienna is a herbal, woodsy and leathery warm juice, that leaves a calorific trail.The drydown is superb. Smells expensive. Beautiful presentation like always with Crabtree. The packaging has improved (they changed from the splash to the spray) and that makes application more comfortable.

An excellent simple fragrance, dominating citrus notes and notes of leather, but mixed really well, despite being notes of leather do not tend to be heavy or intrusive. Leave a trail of pleasant smell, which can be unisex, it is very nice, smooth, and warm. I think despite their notes may be made to work in slightly warmer climates. It lasts about eight hours on my skin, and is a leather scent can wear at any age.

Just like the description on the box: "Old-world luxury is captured in this fragrance", I can easily imagine the Old-Europe time with this fragrance. The combination of Leather, Spices and Citrus gives a feeling of warm. And it reminds me of the decent English gentlemen. It is my signature fragrance (all the time)!

I'm a big fan of mens colognes and this one is no exception. Wonderful leather fragrance, very masculine and rugged. I layer it with Demeter Cuba. The sugar and tobacco notes blend beautifully with the leather and soften the sharp edges.

The bottle is the spitting image of Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier trademark bottles without the fancy caps! I wonder who copied whom

C&E Sienna is a wonderful fragrance, but has sadly been discontinued. If you miss this great scent, reach for Chanel’s Egoiste.

how about that new leather cologne from crabtree?has anyone tried crabtree and evelyne leather musk?

What a biker would wear during the day alongside his leather jacket and boots. Awesome fragance.
