I finally acquired an unused bottle of this, a 2011 batch. I am absolutely obsessed. I had read every review on the internet, and found this to be the most fascinating sounding cologne I'd ever heard of. The name in and of itself is unique and alluring. Who names a cologne "aluminum steel?" Only Creed. Unfortunately, this was discontinued in the 2010s, so I had to pay a premium for a 75ml bottle, but it was still slightly cheaper than buying a 100ml bottle of any modern day Creed direct from their website or boutique. My immediate reaction at first spray was a wide grin. It exceeded my expectations in every way. There is a cool metallic essence that blends perfectly with an underlying sweet warmth. Often described as a banana scent, I feel it is more evocative of bananas in a desert form, such as banana bread or bananas foster. It manages to be spicy, sweet, and rich all at once. Projection is strong, and longevity is excellent. I sprayed this on my chest before bed, and could still smell it strong on my skin and comforter 8 hours later. On fabric, longevity is exceptional. There's a rich, spiced quality that is reminiscent of a rum cocktail. There's also a heavy richness that almost vaguely evokes motor oil exhaust (one of my guilty pleasure scents, especially from a boat on a lake). But it's not a strong or overwhelming element of the scent. There's also a somewhat leathery component. There are just so many different things happening with this scent. It's completely unique, and reminds me of absolutely no other fragrance, soap or beauty product I have ever used. It is entirely of its own accord. I agree with reviewers who've stated that this reminds them of something the fictional character Dirk Diggler might have worn in the 70s. Is it sultry? Yes. Vaguely sleazy? Only in an upmarket kind of way. Like Roger Moore's James Bond. Would pair well with a rich velvet suit, a la Ron Burgundy. Ultimately, I'm obsessed with AA and would say it was worth every penny I spent on acquiring a bottle. Its rich, intoxicating, and utterly unique. A great addition to my collection. Every time I wear it, I marvel at its ability to remind me of so many familiar scents, while remaining entirely unique in its overall comportment. Lavish, luscious, and entirely thrilling.

The smell of old money— polo ponies, Georgian mansions, mahogany paneled studies, cashmere sweaters around the shoulders, pedigrees back to William the Conqueror. It is refined, but not conventional. It is elite, but not arrogant. It is aloof, but not opaque. This is an aspirational scent. In a world where tradition, manners, and social strata are rapidly deteriorating, this potion will soon have no place in our world. It is a gentleman’s fragrance, but this is the visual I had in my head when I first smelled it: You pay a visit to the jaded but swanky residence of your recently deceased aunt. She was of a long line of high society, and enjoyed a life of ease in the last century. Her life-sized portrait, reminiscent of the work of Sargent, hangs languidly upon the drawing room wall. She holds an ostrich feather fan in her gloved hand, dragging it on the ground, as the other grasps a strand of pearls that reaches to her waist. Her head is cocked away from the viewer, revealing her striking profile. You make your way up to her attic, as you and your family are dividing the estate between relatives and benefactors. You spot an antique Louis Vuitton trunk against the wall. You undo the buckles and lift the lid— here is where the fragrance comes in— you are thrilled with the sight of immaculate antique clothing gracing labels such as Gabrielle Chanel and Lanvin, Hermès handbags and scarves, alligator heels, and the like. The precious perfumes she used to anoint herself with linger upon the items after all these years— perhaps it was No. 5, perhaps L’Heure Bleue. The feminine charms of the perfumes have waned to a more musky and vintage tinge, but it is a smell of quality and class nonetheless. Old money— it is the smell of old money. A world that has danced passed us. I am very much intrigued by it.

**WARNING BIAS REVIEW!!** Creed's Acier Aluminium was the first Creed I ever bought after trying it. I felt mature, strong and masculine. It quickly became my signature fragrance, I wear it only for special situations; such as my graduation from the Fire Academy. I was extremely sad that they vaulted it despite keeping worse fragrances like Royal Mayfair... which is going to be vaulted soon, due to not being popular (who saw that coming). I hope they bring it back so I can stop buying flacons (don't ask how many I have) Creed describes Acier Aluminium as feeling like a "Knight in Shining Armor" and you really do, well to me. I Honestly cannot say enough good things about this. Yes, it gets hate from modern men who probably say "toxic masculinity" on a daily bases. However, this is a masterpiece and I think everyone should smell it once and if you don't get the same images of a Nobel Knight and give you a massive boost in confidence I would be shocked. I know most of you know me for a non bias reviews but on this fragrance I cannot do that. This is my favorite, always was, is and will be. Do not take my word or the rest of the cult following for it, don't listen to the haters. Try it. I did, now. it holds a special place in my heart. I know for my views here I will not be celebrated or given a lot balloons but in this case. I don't care. I spoke my heart and my belief. My Opinions for Use: Seasons: Winter, Fall and maybe Spring. Better for cooler weather. Time of Day: Day or Night Situations: Elegant Events and Special Occasions... maybe Dates and Work if you want to project power and authority. Not suitable for Gym. Projection: God Mode. Staying Power: Forever. Age: 25 and up. Hope this helped to dispelled some lies and hate keeping you from this fragrance.

Blind buying is when you are in a sort of hurry to buy something and you pick up something that looks nice and not look at the price or you don’t smell it before in case of perfumes. What to do if somebody is selling expensive perfume on ebay for 1⁄4 of the regular price? That happened to me with the Acier Aluminium. What I was expecting was typical but well crafted cologne... what I received is amazing mix of old type perfume with modern soul. In my opinion there is no steel or aluminium in this creation but it is full of overripe fruits mostly banana with hint of vanilla balanced by spices. I can only imagine how revolutionary this fragrance was in the early 70s. Such perfumes we know from nowadays e.g. Pulp by Byredo (2008) or Aromadite by Farmacia SS. Annunziata (2011). But Acier Al. still has a stamp impressed by old school perfumery. These typical powdery elements you can find in early Caron creations. I like it a lot and recommend to any gender for any time. Udate April 13th (Friday :-) After whole day wearing AA I know how this fragrance evolves. After about 4 hours the banana slowly disappears and kind of gourmand nuances develop. My first impression was the yummy cheesecake with delirious vanilla smelling weep cream. After another few hours ginger gives it a small sting that is not sharp but obvious. The fragrance is never cloying however sweetness plays crucial role during its development. The spices redirect it a little to the male side. Every minute I’m more and more in love with AA.

Creed Acier Aluminum, the scent of Medieval chain mail. ⛓️. I wanted to try this for a long time and finally got to experience it. My impression after multiple wears over an extended period: An elegant cologne that definitely smells of its time, and I wouldn't expect people only fond of modern perfumery to enjoy this. It carries some of Creeds vintage ambergris accord, but it's not easily perceived over the aged amber and vanilla. What's interesting is some others that carry a rich vintage fruit or a dried fruit accord are very strong, but here it's sheer, and wears like a lux aftershave. It does read a bit like banana, but not syrupy sweet or overbearing. The opening has this metallic vibe of bronze or metal, which is the idea of this fragrance. I love this opening. Very cool perfumery and craftsmanship, especially for it's era. Not a strong performer, it wears like and EDT bordering on an EDC. It's enjoyable and nostalgic of it's time period, but I wouldn't pay the asking price on Ebay of 500+ USD. Think for 100-140$, I'd be game. Scent 85/100 Performance 40/100 P.S. I tried the DUA dupe from a friend, side by side with the OG. The DUA smells like cheap aftershave in the opening and the middle, but converges with the original in the drydown. So if you're a Creed nut and dying to know what this smells like, the DUA can get you pretty close to the drydown, but it's missing the magic in the opening and heart. I personally wouldn't buy it or wear it.

Acier Aluminum is a very elegant, rich scent that grabs your attention and is at once sweet, (not cloying) spicy (more warm and smooth than HOT and sharp) and very, very sexy... I get the bergamot in the opening, clear and slightly bitter green, but why this is considered a citrus aromatic is lost on me. It has citrus (a bit) and is aromatic, no doubt, but is not really a citrus dominated perfume. The heart notes of mostly dried fruits (similar to dates, tamarind, figs or plums) and well-blended spicy aromas dominate the scent and make it much more of a fall scent to me than a bright summery citrus. It is a lushly rich fruity aroma (not the usual fresh or watery fruits), and the spices are like nutmeg, cardamom and maybe some cinnamon,(or is that allspice?) but not like a curry blend at all. The drydown is oriental to me (the amber resin and vanilla) but with hints of leather, it works well with the fruity nuances and warm smoothness. This scent says "class" and could easily be worn by a dashing white knight in armor (if they wore colognes); or maybe more like a dark mysterious knight on a jet black stallion, stealing his true love and riding into a darkened forest... Sillage: great Longevity: good Overall: 4/5 CREED never ceases to amaze me, (with their scents AND titanic prices) but if you want a well blended natural scent made with stunning attention to detail and perfume alchemy-they are worth it! This is the rouge with a heart of gold to me...

Definitely not what I was expecting. It was not a let down, but reading the comments of another website, they said, "smells like a knight in shining armor" or, "like a medieval times market place!". Little did I know, that by spraying this little gem on myself, I would transform into a freshly baked batch of Banana Bread. Yes, the drydown of this interesting bottle literally smells of banana bread. Which happens to be my favorite baked good. I can see how people are turned away by this smell, as not many people enjoy banana products. However, this scent is oftentimes very glazed over. People automatically identify the banana musk and assume that's all there is to it. But the true meaning of this fragrance lies deeper than that. I wore it for a few hours, and grew a stronger appreciation as time went onward. Sorry guys, but you won't fully understand the beauty of this one until you spend some quality time with it. The first impression sniff of this yields a magnificently harmonized blast of spices. It reminded me of Incense... although a few degrees sweeter and more playful. Banana and other fruity flavors fade into existence as the drydown approaches, after about 10 minutes. Beautifully constructed, and rich with scent. Sits slightly closer to the skin, but I did get noticed (: Highly recommend to anyone willing to pay the skyrocketing price for this unique masterpiece. Overall rating: 9.1/10

This is a really unique brew; I'm not sure I've encountered anything similar at all. I was getting pretty bored reviewing a bunch of other Creeds, but AA can make you rethink super-sweet masculine fragrances. The bananas and metal are definitely there, and it's almost oppresively metallic at first on top of the fruits, spices and wood. After that clears up a bit, you start to recognize that group of spices and florals that you'd expect to accent a sandalwood fragrance, with the fruit still there, but not necessarily as banana. A slight green grassiness appears underneath after a while, which I didn't remember from previous testings, and it cuts the sweetness a fair amount...I'm kind of marvelling here at how it's going form more sweet to less sweet instead of the other way around. The only problem is that something in the mix starts to create more medicinal character in the basenotes, and maybe a bit of a cherry-like quality, but it's still not as bad as some of the more medicinal sandalwood scents out there. Only in the end do I realize that it's reminding me of a red candy apple, but in a way that I like which is a rare occurrence. Try this stuff out, it's a total trip.

Metallic, fruity, unique and a bit odd all at the same time. I also get some vanilla tones, which are wrapped in that smooth and silk ambergris Creed DNA, in the drydown. I have more than twenty Creed fragrances and picked-up a bottle of Acier Aluminium more than two years ago. While I immediately liked it and wore it a couple times, I didn't love it and felt it was a bit too out there, for lack of a better term, so it sat on the shelf the past two years; just couldn't find an appropriate time to wear this scent. I wore Acier Aluminum recently and felt that it was very well suited for a cool/crisp Spring day. Moreover, a gal pal was wearing my Virgin Island Water (which is just okay IMO) and the two scents coalesced into a really nice scent. So I sprayed myself twice with AC and applied several sprays of VIR (it's a lighter scent) and, to me, the two fragrances just work together. I'm giving Acier Aluminium a like...but try before you buy because it's "unique" and quite a bit different than other Creed fragrances. Finally, while I do get those strong metallic accords, I don't sense banana like some people have reported. Your mileage may vary.

Honestly, all of your hilarious & polarizing reviews made me curious to try this! I'm not disappointed. It truly IS sexy metallic-ambergris-banana, which turns a little sweeter on my skin. (I've always been able to pull off men's frags with my chemistry turning them sweeter). You may be tempted to wear this in cold weather, but it evolves in heat, sun and humid summer nights. Unless you're like me and are intrigued enough by the bizarre to blind buy, you may want ot test this first. This may sound odd, but this layers great with Creed's Vanisia. When I combine these two everyone is complimenting like crazy and asking what I'm wearing. AA's odd sexy banana note mixes perfectly with Vanisia's creamy vanilla-sandalwood base. Edit 2019: To this day I still think this is one of the most underrated and misunderstood frags, and one of my faves. A different beast with a female's chemistry. The best banana spice! Most original of Creed line!

Having only read the name, I was expecting something sharp, silvery, and metallic smelling, but AA starts out sweet and strong, a little acidic, almost fruity. The fruit has a transparent quality, sort of like the ghosts of bananas dancing around my nose along with a little bit of cassis and a tropical fruit salad. It’s not fruity in the way that drugstore girly perfumes are fruity, but rather in a natural-seeming, sophisticated, and sensual way. I think there may be some leather that goes surprisingly well with the fruit and tones it down. There’s a familiar note that I can’t put my finger on, maybe fruit-flavored salt water taffy. The middle part becomes more of a leather with vanilla, amber, and a slight peppery, spicy iris-like note. The sillage is excellent, longevity is moderate. I know this is supposed to be a male perfume, but I love it and will gladly wear it myself!

Recently blind bought a 250ml flacon of this stuff (I'm crazy, I know, but I got it heavily discounted!), and I must say, I'm quite satisfied with it. While I do not pick out any metallic note, what I do get, is a pretty d*mn smooth, spicy, creamy vanilla-banana accord with a hint of ambergris peeking out in a somewhat waxy background. This scent is really strange, I mean it is sophisticated in a way, but at the same time, very dirty. If this fragrance would be a song, it would probebly be "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Overall, it's a nice, deary, sexy (imo), and unique scent. Too bad it is discontinued and hard to come by now days.

this scent reminds me of somthing sean connery would have worn in a james bond movie wearing a black tux and a cigarette between his fingers gambling away and winning..classy , elegant and oh so masculine..great scent. very hypnotic scent. alluring. Confidence in a bottle...a definite dress up fragrance or the well dressed man that knows what to wear, the right time piece on his wrist. you get the drift. I see it more of a fall winter type of fragrance. it will be on my list. it is different enough to stand out with out being in your face. I never expected to like this as much as I did. under the radar creed scent imo.

Acier Aluminum was created at the time when fragrances are much louder than those of today, but unlike other classics as Giorgio of Beverly Hills, Acier Aluminum is much more elegant, and does not invade the vital space of those around you. A simple fragrance in their formulation, which definitely inspires an air of confidence, masculinity, and security who has the pleasure of wearing it. Highly recommended!

This is my all-time favorite perfume, unique, bold, elegant... has it all, specially suited for cold months and when a comfort scent is in order. I wish I could find something at least similar since it has been discontinued and the remaining bottles are expensive very hard to find but there is nothing like this jewel.

I fell in love with this fragrance....something about it just made me fall in love. Definitely a metallic, slightly banana tinge to it...but it somehow works. When I make people smell it out of the bottle, most do not like it....when they smell it in passing...they LOVE it.....definitely manly. LOVE!!!

Metallic top notes and sweet powdery dry downs are my favorites, a truly beautiful fragrance fit for a knight in a shining armor.

A few things to add. First, this grows on you in its uniqueness. It's not quite contemporary and better suited to someone who wants something reflective of a masculine (note, not macho) style at a tolerable projection level. It's fruity and spicy, but again in a uniquely masculine way. Unlike other Creeds, this is an EDT strength, not EDP. The longevity will reflect that only somewhat, this is still very solid. Next, this is not something I'd give to someone under 40 and expect them to adapt to it: It's retro, so the right person will latch on and understand that it's sensual, elegant, and just damn cool. Those said, I like that it's warm, spicy, and not a fragrance that everyone can pull-off well. It truly opens up on skin and becomes refined and assertive. Acier Aluminum is more of a period when a man's fragrance was meant to be unapolgetically masculine. It's NOT a blind-buy. You'll get the warm banana and spice notes from it, and your mileage may vary as to how you'll respond to it. I was pleasantly surprised. This is also not something I'd wear every day, but for those occasions where I'd want a very rugged, refined scent.

This fragrance is a retro-masterpiece from the decade of pork-chop sideburns, porn moustaches, and brown-and-yellow plaid. This is the ultimate John Holmes juice. It smells like sex in the literal sense. The metallic nature of this scent can be more precisely characterized as that rusty iron odour you can smell on your hand after rubbing it between your crotch and inner thigh. I’m not kidding. This raunchy, pheremonal metallic odour comes from the large dose of civet or natural musk used in the base. When you combine this raunchy crotch note with the smello-mellow baked banana bread note, you get an accord reminiscent of sex and comfort food. This porno-chic perfume transforms you into Holmes penetrating Seka from behind in a dimly-lit, seedy 70’s apartment above a pastry shop, and you can smell the rising, intoxicating stank of arousal mixed with spicecake. I had a sample of Acier Alluminium as a gift in a nice store in florence and honestly I was not so curious about it as I used to think it was another rich-marine scent a-la Erolfa. I quite like Erolfa but I just thought I didn't need another one in the same vein. My mistake. Acier Alluminium is a fresh/warm fruity (banana) amber (ambergis) perfume filled with top quality materials. It opens with a sharp bergamot joined right away by amber and a very original and acidic banana note which adds a sweet-warm contrast to the whole fragrance. The drydown is with a lot of amber, vanilla and spices . This is a rich scent yet not loud, quite close to the skin and easy to wear. If I think AA was released in 1973 I immagine it beeing quite an unique and unconventional masculine fragrance. If smelled today it may result a little more usual but still absolutely pleasant, well crafted and distinctive. One of my favourites in the Creed's Range. Rating: 7.5/10

This is straight out a very nicely done leather-chypre--smoky, tart, and slightly sweet; I don't get any metallic banana although the opening is a bit strong/sharp. If you compare it to other such genre, you'll see it's not all that weird or hard to describe.. Think Bel Ami or Fetish pour Homme (Roja).

I bought a bottle of this beautiful fragrance by Creed some weeks ago... And reading previous reviews and the informations given by Fragrantica, I think: what are you talking about? Citrus Aromatic fragrance??? Fruits??? Bananas??? In my opinion Acier Aluminium is an amber-floral-chypre composition: in the heart I identify an intoxicating jasmine (similar to that of Amouage Gold) mixed with spices on a base dominated by oak moss, amber and vanilla. I think Acier Aluminium is very similar to Mitsouko but less sweet, probably because of the lack of the peach note. So... is it possible that "my" Acier Aluminium would be the same fragrance described in this website? Furthermore, in Southern Europe it has not been discontinued; the same thing happens in US... indeed you can buy it on Creed boutique online. Anyway, it is really a piece of art, with an enormous persistence and sillage, and a very distinctive aura...very far from the overrated Millesime fragrances... A big thumb up!

Strange and dull, slightly sweet metal and overripe bananas The first creed I have disliked for smell alone, besides the price tag. Please smell first and do not blind buy this or any other niche for that matter. If you want something metallic that works go for silver mountain water and if you want something even more masculine go for Iron duke If you want something fruity and different go for kumkat wood by mancera

To me this is more of a novelty scent rather than one you can actually wear (which is very strange for a Creed fragrance). Imagine some aluminium foil being sprayed heavily with furniture polish, and then covered with bananas. That’s how this smells and I’m not sure why anybody would want to smell like this. I can see why this one was vaulted but I’m glad I got to smell it!

To my nose the composition of acier aluminum feels like a russian leather (cuir de russie) fragrence which is a type of fragrence no one makes anymore except roja dove who sells it for 2grand in fragrences like great brittan. That being said to me this is one of the most interesting creed fragrences because it is so far away from a normal creed offering and i own all the majors like MI EROLFA Aventus GIT Himilaya Tabarome etc. I must admit a couple things about my self. I am a fragrence addict and even own some frags most men would toss in the trash when their grand mothers died like shalimar. So my frame of reference is different than most. The opening with the bright shimmery bergamont & the vanilla in the base harkens back to shalimar to my nose. This is almost like creed mixing 3 different fragrence genres chypre with the mossy dirty base, oriental with the vanilla & russian leather with the oily leather touch. The leather feels embelished here and dont expect this to come across as tuscan leather or bel ami. What this smells like is a vintage base of opulent full bodied vanilla with a pre cursor to the melon fruit used in MI with a tinge of rot to the fruit. Its been sitting on the counter a while and not exactly fresh but still fresh enough to eat. But instead of just melon you do get a banana feel. Along with that there is a bit of civet in the background. Just a touch of stink.. hidden. Dont wear this in summer. I learned it works well up to about 75 degrees but beyond that i would stay away. This will really appeal to the frag conniseur. The one who has been in the game a bit and can appreciate what they are smelling. If you are a newbie or only used to designer freshies this will confuse you upon first spray because i dont think you will understand what you are smelling. I think that metallic vibe comes from a mixture of the bergamont top vanilla base & creed signature ambergris which is really overdosed here and i love that about AA. In a world where every precious drop of ambergris is counted and measured or substituted with a synthetic chemical compound to be able to smell something from the 70s that creed created when no one outside the true elites knew about creed this feels so much more elgent and classy compared to their newer releases like aventus cologne and that overdose of ambergris in AA puts a big smile on my face as this is what creed used to be about opulance luxury and cost be damned. If you want to study real ambergris get your hands on this beauty or even a vintage EROLFA. Current viking is also a great way to study ambergris as it has that salty sour ambergris running through it. Actually most of the older creed offerings have that intoxicating ambergris in the base. Its only recent batches of aventus & newer bottle design where they started to get cheap to save money, but alas i digress. Back to Acier aluminum if you like masculine scents like some of the classics like quorom or antaeus or kouros then acier aluminum will really resonates with you. If you are tired of the current trend of sweet unisex metro fragrences you should get your nose on AA. Its really a shame these type of fragrences are being discontinued but its all about sales. If you like vintage fragrences like me and like to go against the crowd grab a bottle or decant of this. For me its in the top 3 creeds of all time with vintage aventus & royal oud. I know that might sound blasphemous but get your nose on this gem, spend time with her. She might make you feel like a knight in shining armor afterall. -Ramsey

Without knowing the notes and the description of the fragrance this is what the scent make me think of: Old, chair, bourgeoies, home, soap, old cologne and embroidered curtains. This is a home scent. Very cosy. It feels more appropriate for indoor than outdoor space. Bourgeois more than Royal. It suits a man who has built a big and successful company in is life and is also recognized by others. The drydown is a soft soap with this little old animalic touch and a hint of spice. It reminds me of MDCI Chypre Palatin. Acier Aluminium is a name that doesn't evoke what is inside this fragrance. Very hard to give it a name because it's unique. Creed talks about "medieval knights" and I totally agree with that. Even if the fragrance was made in 1973, It smells what would smell the clothes of a rich Lord living in his Middle Ages castle and talking with other member of the noble society. It's a very ancient soapy/barbershop scent and we can maybe understand why this has been discontinued by Creed. A good experience if you want to smell History.

Yes indeed....Acier Aluminum is a work of art; I received a bottle for a great price and having read reviews wasn't very sure what I purchased. To my surprise I really like this! AA opens very piney, however that lasts only moments then you began to take in this amber, vanilla like aroma. AA is leather even patchouli. AA, is said to smell like banana and metallic however I detect neither in this composition. Does it fall in line with GIT or IM, or even Aventus...no! I would say that AA is in a league of its own just like Bois du Portugal. Yet, I would also say both AA and BdG resemble each other in the dry down although different. Can this be dated, only when and if you listen to others mention it being so. If you approach AA without the preconceived notions I think you'd get a better or give a better judge of character for this fragrance. I really enjoy this, maybe a go to fragrance in rotation. I think this is a masculine fragrance, but to each his or her own....makes a great fragrance for me is all I know!!

i just ordered it from the creed online site kinda exited waiting for it to arrive,my first creed was virgen island water and that was it ,thats all it took,then i wwent online and purchased acier aluminum,love the notes in it ,so now i cant wait til it arrives,the day that i went into neimanmarcus,and check out all the crecologne for men now im hooked,just be carefule from some cheaperm online sites,remember you get what you pay for,if its a deal thats that cheap ,you get what you pay for so now i will let you know when it gets here creed has some awesome scents im glad i walk into that store just befor x-mas,my wife chosed creed for me awesome,there are a couple that i got my eye on til then happy new year.

Disappointing blind buy for me. The store didn't have any testers and I purchased purely based upon all the positive and interesting reviews below. What I got was an olfactory mish mash of bananas,over ripe fruit salad and spiced vanilla custard with a faint herbal thing,possibly sage, going on in the background. Devastated with this one as it wasn't cheap and compared with the other Creed I purchased,Royal Mayfair (which DID have a tester bottle)it really was a case of chalk and cheese. Royal Mayfair IS positively regal in comparison,so invigorating and multi layered. Shame I couldn't join the chorus of approval but its a lesson learned.No samples = No blind buy.

Similar to the brilliant Amouage Dia Man, but with much improved performance. It is essentially a soft floral vetiver settling into a vanillic variation of the Creed ambergris base. The florals have a hint of banana, so I’m guessing that’s ylang ylang. I don’t really get the spicy notes that are supposedly so prominent based on the voting above. They might be adding to the subtle woody undertones, but that’s about it. Creed enthusiasts may not like the classic aesthetic, while people who normally avoid Creed may appreciate the vintage feel of this one.

acier is totally from 1973 and i felt that after i smelled my first drop.....i love it tho....older man fragrance that has a couple cool notes to it....i do smell banana peel and pear in a way but then again if you combine a bunch of fruits that is what it smells like....lavender metallic musk next....then....i know this sounds bad but next i kinda get a whiff of fresh kitty litter 1970s era.....i enjoy that smell.....kind of soapy but floral....just a little bit 8/10

creed makes some of the finest scents i have in collection since my first creed cologne now i have ten in my collection yes they are very old andstill the same when they made it i love the smell of creeds colognes, but be very carefull where you purchase from i stick with neiman marcus to scared of the discount sites you get what you pay for good luck and keep smelling nice

So.... after reading some of the reviews about how strange this smells I decided to buy a sample out of curiosity. Whilst opening it I spilled it on my floor... *sigh* Now my room smells like a poker lounge in someone's basement... *update* The odor has evolved into a banana ashtray smell. My landlord is going to be thrilled.

There is definitely jasmine in here, though none is listed. The scent itself is a comforting, dusty, sweet amber. This is truly beautiful and at times, almost borders on gourmand. The spices can remind one of Potpourri and the opening can be a bit metallic. For me, this is a great cold weather scent.

Interesting 'over-ripe' fruit opening with underlying spice accord. A mineral, flinty and warm ambergris base with just a hint of vanilla. At one point it reminded me of a freshly snuffed candle where the wick is still smoking and the wax is still wet. A very strange scent indeed. (64)

I had a small decant a few years ago and dismissed it a little, thought it was bad juice. I got a new one in today. Its not off, It just smells really dated to me. I wanted to smell like a knight, haha, but I just smell like a rug from a hippie bong store in the late 80s.

Chri76, you are absolutely correct. AA is loaded with jasmine and i can thouroughly resonate with the whole Mitsouko connection. There is also high quality sandalwood and significant amounts of oakmoss. To me, this is indeed Mitsouko Pour Homme.

Acier Aluminum is downright the strangest scent I've ever smelled. Why? Because it smells like metallic bananas. Go figure, I actually kind of like it because I love the smell of bananas. Definitely going to try this one again sometime.

Scent - fruits, spices & vanilla. Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night. Projection - I didn't get noticed, I didn't get a compliment. Longevity - I get 6hrs consistently.

A very strange scent indeed. It smells like the inside of a medicine cabinet or bathroom drawers filled with many different kinds of health and beauty products. Some sweet and some medicinal smells all combined.

I order this on line after some review i saw....all are saying that it smells like metallic bananas and is something that combine the old era in a modern way... will revert as soon as I get it.

My nose must be broken or I got a bad bottle or... I don't know. This smells A LOT like YSL M7 to me with a more leathery base. Or said another way, very very nice spice with a leather base.

I dare you Creed for discontinuing Acier. I regret so much not having stocked up when I could. One of Creed most unique fragrances. Yes. the banana vibe is present but done right.

Smells nothing like bananas. Smells actually kind of like a sharper Antaeus. Unique. Diggin it. The drydown is mellow but the opening is very in your face, don't be fooled.

No joke, knight in shining armor dead on. Like smelling the sound of a huge sword being unsheathed to stab you in the chest. Best wear this to the Renaissance Faire.

Acier aluminium is not built like a chypre, but it sure smells like an Ambery, fruity chypre with light floral aspects. A truly beautiful creation.
