Angélique Encens (2019)

Despite the note pyramids listed for both the old and new limited release, Creed assured me the new release is in fact the same formula as the original. Now that I have both to compare, I would say that is accurate. The new batch is divine, and the only difference I notice is that the original release seems to have aged like a fine wine. My bottle arrived just in time for October and Halloween. When Fall first arrives, and the night smells of bonfires... this perfume is perfect! It is every bit as sexy and mysterious as the old batches, and is sure to age as finely. THIS is my all time favorite perfume! Very unique and dark. Not a blind buy. I have a new bottle of the 2019 formula, as well as well stored remnants of my own green falcon of the original from about 15 years ago. I will do my best to compare and contrast these releases. On test paper these two are IDENTICAL from start to finish....but on my skin....they are NOT. Still pretty close, but there is a one significant difference that I'll detail in a bit. On paper, the new bottle is stronger and longer lasting than my original....not unexpected, although with some fragrances, the vintage gets stronger. Not with AE. Now - the differences. I note these differences on my skin in the present while testing side by side, however my recollection of the original AE tells me that this is not just an artifact of the age of the juice, but something that will remain in the original formula not successfully reproduced in the new formula. About 15 - 20 minutes in, the original formula takes on a "slightly musty, wet books in a library feel" that the new formula doesn't duplicate. It's a sad, melancholy transition from top to base. The new formula transitions from top to base and skips this phase. This is the phase, however, that I LOVE in the original AE. Without it, the 2019 version of AE just becomes a sister to Guerlain's Vega or Liu. In the world of modern formulations and watering down of fragrances, do I consider the 2019 version a hit?... actually, yes I do. With all the new regulations that the houses have to deal with, I think they got very close (9.5/10). If I didn't have a skin test of the original going on side by side, I would almost say it was spot on....but BECAUSE I remember AE having that wet dank phase years ago....I know it's NOT just my old bottle turning. There is the tiniest difference between the 2 formulations and unfortunately it's my favorite phase that's missing. Some, however, maybe wouldn't like that phase in the old version therefore this new version would be a true treasure. Overall, this new formula is very nice IMO - lasts forever and to most noses would be identical to the original. Do I get the pleasure of the original...unfortunately not quite, but maybe those around me don't want to smell damp old paper anyway. I find the older formula a little challenging to wear whereas this one is definitely easier to wear....but I guess I prefer the challenge. Will keep and enjoy both!

It's a ladies scent from creed, just at the level of pure white cologne, white flowers and jardin d'amalfi. A different approach on ladies fragrances. Warm and spicy, gives me vibes of the 90s which I can't understand the reason of. Since it's different from the typical floral, candy like, Citrusy and ozonic female fragrances, that's why I like this on my lady. I give it 9/10

I really liked this at first with incense but after smelling its more its Very powdery and aromatic in air top: very strong sharp start I think because of the balsamic powderiness, sweet amber dry down: rose is a bit stinky here maybe because of the violet its bit too much for me honestly but maybe better on someone else. 6/10, not for me personally but id love to smell it on someone else.

This literally smelled like play-dough(maybe coming from the powdery/incense aspect) and flowers to me. Very interesting, unique, and somewhat beautiful but it probably wouldn’t be one I’d purchase for a lady.
