Aventus Cologne

So I'll be honest; I didn't really have a big interest in this fragrance until Eros Energy came out. I had smelled Aventus Cologne before and thought it was nice, but Absolu Aventus is really my favorite of the line. When Eros Energy came out and people started comparing it to Aventus Cologne I took notice, mostly because Eros Energy is one of my favorite releases of the year. So with that in mind, I grabbed a sample the last time I was at my local high-end department store. Now it's time to see if the rumors are true. Let's get into it; Scent: The opening is citrusy, musky, and fresh spicy. The primary notes I get are mandarin orange, musk, ginger, and spearmint. The strongest of the notes are the mandarin orange and musk. The mandarin orange is juicy, tart, and has a photo-realistic quality to it that makes it smell like fresh squeezed orange juice. The musk is the usual fresh, clean, and powdery offering, but it's obvious the musk in this fragrance is of much higher quality than what you find in designer fragrances. This is followed by the ginger and spearmint. The ginger adds a subtle fresh spiciness to the opening that helps balance out the strong citrus. Lastly, the spearmint is cool, refreshing, and green; it reminds me of freshly picked spearmint from a garden. The ozonic note is also lightly detectable as a fresh and airy accord. The dry down is citrusy, woody, and musky. The primary notes I get are mandarin orange, musk, birch, and spearmint. The strongest of the notes is the mandarin orange and birch. The mandarin orange carries the same accord from the opening, while the birch has opened up with a strong woody and slightly green nuance. This is followed by the musk and spearmint. The musk is still powdery and clean like it was in the opening, and the spearmint still has that cool and icy accord, albeit a bit more subdued than it was in the opening. The bergamot is also noticeable in the dry down as a citrusy accord along with the orange, and the tonka is slightly noticeable as well with a bit of it's signature powdery sweetness in the background. Performance: Initial projection is fairly strong and radiates about 4-6 feet. Sillage is moderate with a noticeable but not heavy scent trail. After a few hours the performance was unchanged; projection was still about 4-6 feet and the scent trail was still noticeable. At the 7 hour mark the projection had died down to within arms length but there was still a noticeable scent trail being left. At the 10 hour mark the projection was gone but there was still a light scent trail. The fragrance became a skin scent shortly thereafter. When to wear: This is a fresher take on Aventus, so it works perfectly in the spring or summer. However, I feel it still has the same versatility as Aventus and can work all year round, day or night. As for occasion, this fragrance would be appropriate for pretty much anything; just like Aventus. Casual, formal, date night, at the office, you'll smell great. Blind buy: If you like the original Aventus DNA this is a safe blind buy for you; simple as that. Final verdict: So the big question here is "does it smell like Aventus Cologne?". The answer is yes, they absolutely do; but with a couple of noticeable differences. Namely, Aventus Cologne is greener while Eros Energy is sweeter. Aventus Cologne has the spearmint and birch notes that add a hefty dose of greenery to the fragrance, while Eros Energy focuses more on lemon and has bits of that signature sweetness that the Eros line is known for. Other than that they are definitely in the same vein. Compared to the rest of the Aventus line, I would put this in third behind Aventus in second and Absolu Aventus in first. It's fine, but I get more enjoyment out of the other two. However, on it's own merit it's a wonderful fragrance. The scent profile is niche yet mass-appealing, the performance is respectable, and it has the same compliment factor that the rest of the Aventus line has. That being said, you still won't find me paying $465 for it. I'll just stick with my Eros Energy and CDNIMLEP. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10

OK, coming from a person that used to hate Creed.... The best way I can personally describe this is; It's a refined, higher end, much stronger version of Channel Allure Homme Sport mixed with Aventus DNA, that is probably THE best way to describe it. And being that I did like the original Aventus a bit, but couldn't abide performance issues, and I did like CAHS for many years, so this combo kinda sits right there in the perfect sweet spot for me. - Is it groundbreaking? meh, that's really difficult, because with the combination of the 2, and it having very good projection and silage, I'd say yes, - Scent groundbreaking? possibly not. - Is it worth it? if you like those 2, then it is simply a no brainer - Redundant to either? to CAHS yes, to the OG Aventus, most definitely not, the 2 are quite different, and both versatile but both have their occasions. UPDATE: after 24 hours, I think it's redundant for the OG Aventus; after the dry down, it become the OG, but less the smoky part. - FB worthy? for me, yes, and after day, definitely a yes. - Blind Buy? no doubt about it, it's very hard not to like. Again, after 24 hrs, yes. - An addition to my stable, so far 100% and after 24hrs again yes. I'll try and update later, but it's non-linear to a degree after the dry down, and it feels like it's not going anywhere for a very long time, and that's after 2 sprays. UPDATE: after the dry down it become the OG Aventus and after the long-ish opening/drydown it turns into a very strong version of it. I have to say, that there are ZERO, yes ZERO performance issues here, this to me has silage, extreme projection and insane longevity, rendering the bottle extremely worth it. Initially I started with 2 sprays, and it was beyond a room filler, and I can not stop smelling it, which is rare for me, then when I came to go out in the evening, applied 3 more sprays. If I am honest, it was overkill, and it's now about 7 hours since the 2nd application and it is reeking off me as if I just applied it, this is truly a beast, I am very very impressed with it's performance, in fact I'm shocked, the 100ml bottle will last ages, I really really do hope there are no re-formulations that render this diluted. If only they could make Millesime with the same performance :/ I think this is THE best performing Creed. I purchased my bottle from Liberty London, as I didn't want to risk performance issues, and I trust Liberty London. £290 RRP for 100ml is probably for most people (it certainly is for me) at the higher end of the scale, but to be fair for the complete package it really is worth it, and it's more than likely that it can be bought much less with offers/sales/discounts, I think I paid £238 in Liberty London's Sale, and I'd gladly pay the full RRP if I had to, if I knew it was the same re-formulation, sadly I just checked on LL's website and they are out of stock of it. Conclusion: If you're a fan of the OG, or you fancy something with that vibe or Channel Allure Homme Sport, or somewhere along that line and want a beast of a freshie, then I do highly recommend this, and coming from someone that doesn't speak favourable about Creed with regards to price Vs performance, that is a massive compliment. I don't think anyone can go wrong with this release, and I think if the price point was lowered, it might dilute the nature of the product. After all, we as vain creatures of exclusivity would probably stick our nose up if it was cheap, sad but true! :) I do really hope this long winded review might be of some help, I know I'm not the best when it comes to painting pictures and landscapes of olfactory creativity, and certainly no where near what most of you lovely people can describe in a review :) Hope you all enjoy, and God bless :)

So I couldn't stop sniffing myself and had to turn around... Picked this up early summer after someone mentioned it was like "Aventus but fresher and longer-lasting." I'd started appreciating the Aventus thing, so figured why not check it out. First spray? Wasn't sure. But walking out of the store I kept catching whiffs off my wrist and... yeah, had to go back in. The opening hits different Ginger bomb right off the bat. There's this spearmint thing happening that's really nice with the bergamot - super fresh and actually wakes you up in the morning. Like genuinely gives you that little boost when you're dragging yourself to work. Few minutes in and you start getting the woody stuff. Vetiver and patchouli show up but it's not that hippie earthy mess you sometimes get. Stays clean somehow. There's this crisp quality running through everything (probably their musk work, Creed knows what they're doing there). When the birch comes in later it's way less smoky than regular Aventus. That freshness just keeps going. Performance is solid Getting a full day out of this - like 8 hours easy, still there when I'm leaving work. Projects really well first couple hours, then settles into something nice but not obnoxious. People notice but it's not gonna clear a room, you know? Honestly outperforms my newer Aventus bottles. Even the F-batches I grabbed recently don't last like this. Whatever they're doing consistency-wise, it's working better than what regular Aventus has been doing lately. Pretty much works everywhere Been wearing this all summer. Would probably work spring/fall too. Office, dates, just hanging around - handles it all. It's one of those scents that's hard to mess up with. Could probably overspray and still be fine. Gives off this clean, fresh vibe. Like that feeling when you walk into a nice hotel and everything just smells... right. VS regular Aventus Obviously related - can't miss that DNA. If you're into Aventus you'll probably dig this. Trade-off is losing that pineapple note everyone talks about, but what you get is this incredible freshness that's hard to beat. Perfect if you want the Aventus experience but cleaner and easier to wear. Bottom line: Aventus without the pineapple plus crazy freshness. That ginger/spearmint opening is perfect for mornings. Works everywhere, smells expensive, lasts all day. Want Aventus but fresher? Get this. -RobTheScent Honest takes. Big nose energy.

This is an incredibly pleasant scent. But I don't want to sell it short so ill elaborate; its more than just pleasant. AC is elegant, classy, powerful, sexy, masculine (not to deter any woman from wearing it, please do!), its great for hot weather and cold alike, but I think its more widely associated with warm weather due to the ginger and mandarin notes. The original Aventus is also classy and manly, but MORE POWERFUL and when I say powerful, I'm not talking about the strength of the scent, (it is there) but what I am speaking to, is more of the impression that it imparts. By comparison the OG is heavier on the woods and smoke, and even has vanilla where this one does not. I think the OG is by far more suited to cooler weather. Aventus Cologne is much lighter in that regard, and instead of a pineapple which I believe imparts something equally juicy, and dark, we have a citrus fruit which I believe gives you a much more prominent feeling of something juicy and bright. They are related for sure. I think if you like Aventus, you will like Aventus Cologne, but not necessarily the other way around? This is just speculation because it just depends on what you value. I do have both and love them separately for different reasons. I just reach for this one more as I do believe it is the more versatile pick. I find that i can dress this down too. Sometimes wearing the OG feels out of place, especially at places like the gym or grocery store. My recent batch of Aventus Cologne (my 4th bottle of this juice I think) F000468, is nuclear with regard to how long it lasts. I get about 10+ hours. This DNA is easy to go nose blind to the more you spray, but its not a complete kind of olfactory fatigue, this beauty is strong enough and elegant enough to give you gentle reminders continuously throughout the day, and IF it doesn't, others around you will! I got mine as a gift from my significant other, and she paid 189 USD shipped for a tester without cap. For this price, I cant believe it. Its 100% worth it, and this fragrance to me is another one of my FEW 10/10 fragrances based on scent, versatility, longevity, sillage, and compliments. Also, I feel incredibly confident with this on. GET YOU SOME!

god, i’ve been wearing this fragrance every spring and summer day since i was 16-17, and i can guarantee anyone reading this review that if you purchase this fragrance from an ACTUALLY AUTHORIZED seller, you will be able to get 12+ hours out of this fragrance. with fragrances hitting tiktok recently, fragrantica reviews have been absolutely flooded with tiktok kids who don’t even own the fragrance. first off, if that’s you and you’re reading this, welcome to the fragrance world. this addiction is really fun, but there is one thing they push on tiktok far too religiously: discount fragrances. i tried reading some reviews before writing mine and anyone saying this fragrance gets less than 12+ hours HAS A FAKE. its not a reformulation, they have a fake. ask them where they got their Creed Aventus Cologne and i guarantee you they will say some sort of fragrance discounter, which is an absolute shame because this is one of the greatest, most versatile warm weather fragrance ever, and far better than MOST of the Creed line. this fragrance isn’t aggressive, it works for teenagers, young adults, and even the older crowd (although if you’re 30+ it is time to just purchase Aventus). it smells unbelievably fresh, it smells beautiful in the air, the first spray is a fresh orange slice that dries down into a beautiful fresh musk/tonka/pink pepper/vetiver. if these notes are anything you love, get your nose on a real bottle of this urgently. i don’t regret spending the extra money i spent to get BEAST MODE performance. i swear, when i first bought this fragrance sometimes i couldn’t spray it past 3PM or it would last until the next day. purchase it, purchase it, purchase it. you WILL NOT regret grabbing this one;
