Bois de Cedrat

One of the best citrus fragrances I have ! It's pitty that it is discontinued ! Unique blend of citrus and cedar.

Bois de Cedrat opens with straight bright lemon. This is by far the most lemony cedar fragrance I have ever encountered. The lemon is delectable, much like a frozen lemon Popsicle. When the cedar emerges from behind the lemon after the first 15 minutes or so, it is dry, pleasant, and very natural-smelling. Bois de Cedrat impresses me because it takes two notes that can easily move into cleaning solution territory, and it manages to keep them fresh, natural, and complimentary to one another, a testament to the quality of Creed's ingredients. Anyone who has criticized Jo Malone's Sweet Lime and Cedar for it's simplicity and consequently questionable wearability, should hold this fragrance to the same set of standards, and then consider that less is sometimes more. If you love the notes and they are done really well, simplicity should never be an issue. Unlike Sweet Lime and Cedar, which has good sillage and longevity (especially for Jo Malone), Bois de Cedrat's sillage and longevity are both pretty poor, with the lemon opening note traveling better than the cedar. If given the choice, I would pick Sweet Lime and Cedar over Bois de Cedrat any day. It evolves into something magical when it combines with my skin's chemistry... too bad SL&C is one of JM's many discontinued beauties.

A lovely pairing of lemon-lime and cedar, Creed's Bois de Cedrat falls into the "fresh woody" category that the house seems to have down to a science. Bois de Cedrat isn't overwhelmingly complex: it flirts with the Pine-Sol synthetic smell mentioned sometimes with Epicea and especially Cypres Musc, but I regard the smell as natural and refreshing. It flirts with being a gourmand, as the citrus involves some sweetness, but it mostly resides at the intersection of citrus and woods. Among Creed's other offerings, I liken Bois de Cedrat mainly to Cypres Musc, but slightly smoother, slightly less acerbic. On the road from Cypres Musc to Epicea, Bois de Cedrat lies somewhere in the middle, neither being as refined as Epicea nor as sharp as Cypres Musc. As with most fresh Creeds from the EDT era, projection and longevity aren't special, but this strong and versatile enough to be worn year-round. It's not to be found on the discount sites, though, so the only option is the retail $205 for 75ml, so it's a tough sell for those used to buying Creeds at a discount. 7 out of 10

Extraordinary fragrance..!! Creed’s Bois de Cedrat is a beautiful citrus fragrance that is ideal for Spring and Summer wear. As with many previous reviewers, Bois de Cedrat has disappointing performance, lasting (perhaps) two hours on both, skin and clothing, with minimal projection/sillage. I am a huge Creed fan, and will remain a fan, but this fragrance has been a letdown. As is, Bois de Cedrat is a fragrance recommended for those people who want to smell nice (clean and fresh) without being offensive nor having the need to be the center of attention. My final tally for Bois de Cedrat is 3.8 stars out of 5 stars. It truly is a beautiful fragrance with an opening that is extraordinary, but performance is a challenge even in warmer weather. Creed sets a high bar for expectations – I want to “love” this (Creed) fragrance, but Bois de Cedrat falls just below the bar into a solid “like” for the Fragrantica following. Creed BOIS DE CEDRAT is a simple yet satisfying citrus cedar scent. Sadly, it is also shortlived. The sunny, succulent lemon mingles beautifully with the cedar in the bright opening but this fleeting phase is like a rousing gust of wind which quickly dissipates, leaving only the faintest trace of light woody amber behind. BOIS DE CEDRAT is too fleeting and not nearly so compelling to me as ACQUA FIORENTINA. There's no real basis for commitment here. Like a chance encounter with a stranger abroad, it was nice while it lasted...

imo, this is a stupendous mix of cedar and citrus. if you're a fan of those, you owe it to yourself to check this stuff out. but like the other reviewer noted, this stuff has the longevity of a brisk wind. it would be stupendous if they could figure out how to make it last more than an hour, because it's quite sharp and refreshing and enjoyable!

Sampled this today. Lemon and woods. Very interesting. Only got to sniff the trigger. Nice scent.

A nice lemon scent, but, golly, on my skin it was gone in a half hour. No lie. $300+ ? No.

This is such an underrated gem. So many other Creed fragrances steal the spotlight. This is a beautiful citrus fragrance. It carries an elegant aura that makes me smell classy when I wear it. There is a lot of quality in this fragrance for sure. I wear this year-round for any occasion. It does good at work as well as date nights. It is becoming harder to find though. Since that is the case, I decided to stock up on a few bottles. I think I have about five. That should last me forever. It's a good thing because this is really expensive now.

I thought I'd sample Bois de Cedrat due to the fact that, it's older cousin Bois du Portugal is one my favourite fragrances. The Orange and Lemon sparkle, tempered somewhat by the Ambergris, which all makes for a very nice fragrance; with one issue - longevity. Unfortunately, and unlike most other Creed's (in my experience), it just doesn't last. We're not talking hours, we're talking minutes. Within 25minutes Bois de Cedrat has all but vanished. This fleeting fragrance would be a favourite, if only it lasted.

After reading so many reviews below, how this is a let down by creed, smells outdated, its got poor this and poor that etc etc....the formula is from 1875!! quick to blame the fragrance houses when its all down to your skin chemistry, I have never had any problems with Creeds or any other fragrances I own.... jeez give it a break, honestly there is no pleasing some people, this still smells fantastic to me, you don't have to like it but fragrance houses can't keep everyone happy.

well for a formula thats 135 years old i must say this at first was a new experience...never have smelled such a sophisticated citrus scent...lemon candy somewhat tart kind of spicey middle notes that stay yummy but in the end its short lived tho .....sprayed my polo up 3 or 4 times n darn smells gone in 2 hours.....also for warm weather too...i always want this to last buuuut dont over due this or alas youll smell like citronela candles while it lasts...7/10

Airy lemons and quite sweet with the famous amber base. The problem is I feel it is just a little too linear and lacks that modern touch, maybe some vanilla or pink pepper even would have helped to add some weight. Very weak, but you get the Creed quality. But the dated type - not the newer Millesimes that definitely have a better ingredient extracting process. Sadly cannot give very high marks. Look to Aventus or for similar - Neroli sauvage millesime. 6/10.

It's a good scent. It's citrus and wood. Very simple. Does it's job well. The problem is that it's way overpriced, and even if you do have $200 to spend, you should just buy Bergamote 22 or one of the other dozen fresh citrus Creed fragrances.

Bois de Cedrat is such a simple fragrance. That is what makes it soo good. Very straightforward and northing to hide. Smells the way you would want your favorite lollipop to taste. I would highly recommend giving it a try.

I think Cedre Blanc was the reincarnation of this fragrance with sort of a modern twist, I would have to compare them side by each but I definitely see the similarities

Beautiful lemon and cedar opening. Very uplifting, refreshing, and relaxing. Very pleasant and sweet drydown. Sadly longevity is an issue.
