Cedre Blanc

After owning Creed Cedre Blanc for 5months while using it time-to-time the results are final; I enjoy having it. Creed has stood by their reputation continuously creating suave, refreshing, and enjoyable scents one could imagine. Personally, I have never felt the fragrance family has ever been in competition with other brands. Yet, with so many perfumes and colognes in existence today it is not difficult to resemble another creation at some point. Creed Cedre Blanc, the first few sprays I discovered a rush of crisp bergamot, laurel, and cardamom blending with a dry burning pile of freshly shaven cedar blocks almost as if someone were preparing a campfire in the woods. The burning wood note is mild, calm and welcoming; yet fresh and woodsy. This part of the composition can last for almost 1hour, then Cedre Blanc reveals it's jasmine, geranium, and lily floral accords. Middle notes blend very well with the top notes; However at this juncture I wished the middle notes could have lasted for an eternity because this fragrance is a work of art by it being multifaceted. Nonetheless, the grand finale quickly sets in with various subtle wood notes that remain in the background with hardly any projection. Probably 18inches at most. Cedre Blanc has some resembling characteristics of sharing it's drydown of Himalaya with sandalwood and [ambergris] (although not listed) along with the top note initial 1st blast of Royal Oud with the burning of the wood minus the cigarette ash note. I'm not saying Cedre Blanc smells like Himalaya and Royal Oud; I'm identifying that it has some vague similarities to them. In conclusion, Creed Cedre Blanc is a safe anytime scent. While it may present as a mild and hardly noticeable scent after 3hours; it is truly present more so as a skin scent. If one were to purchase Cedre Blanc expecting to get by on 3-4sprays; guess again. This isn't Aventus, Millesime 1849, or Green Irish Tweed. It is totally fine to spray 8times. The fragrance won't become overbearing for others around after 40minutes. I did this and gotten about 8hours of excitement. 7.75 out of 10 - Good Scent

Refreshingly buoyant and yet with an underpinning of steadfast cedar, Creed's new Cedre Blanc from their Acqua Originale collection draws one's attention nearer. Sunny bergamot along with spicy cardamom open the fragrance on a high note. Sweetly mesmerizing laurel entices with its fragrant and spicy aroma. Its camphorous note matching well with the intensely bitter and verdant green qualities of resinous galbanum. A beautiful "watery" heart emerges, comprised of water lily, geranium, and jasmine. I really notice the water lily note here, being somewhat aquatic, a slight bit sweet, and a tad lemony. Its fluidity pairs well with the indolic jasmine, as well as the more herbal geranium scent. The base is where the scent's name arises, as Virginia cedar is utilized. This is however not an overwhelmingly woody or cedar scent as the naming may imply, instead evoking freshness and altitude. A hint of vetiver and warm, sensuous sandalwood round out the vertical cedar note. Overall an interesting fragrance, one which is more of an artistic interpretation of a cedar forest rather than a literal one. Olivier Creed is said to have been inspired by the ethereal Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, his favorite mountain range in the world. Certainly Cedre Blanc's aroma lives up to their majestic and pristine beauty. (153)

Cedre blanc has a beautiful citrus over a creamy, woody base that hides behind whiffs of ocean air. Something fruity and sweet lurks beneath.....green apple? How is ambergris not listed in the notes? It clearly has a PROMINENT role. I get an aquatic, woody aromatic. Like a log of Cedar washed up on the beach. While I feel it may lean a tad masculine, Florals soften up the composition enough to make it fine for either sex. (As a plus, my wife loves it on me) You will certainly notice the cardamom (and even more so Bay leaf) but this is all about the Ambergris and Woods. As it develops you are able to pick out some of the individual Wood notes more clearly. Maybe imagine a mix up of Millesime Imperial, Viking, and Spice and Wood. That could get you close. This is more deserving of the name Viking than the one who received it. Had it been released into the main line under that name it certainly would’ve been better received. Performance is about average and while it leans towards the summer months in feel I believe it could also work in cool weather. In conclusion: Very versatile and curiously overlooked member of the Creed lineup. It’s unique yet has that familiar Creed DNA At the prices this can be had for on the discount sites I’d recommend giving it a shot, you may just find yourself a gem.

I would describe this as galbanum and jasmine over ambergris and woods. It opens with a brief splash of bergamot that lasts only a few minutes before the woody florals take over. The ambergris is so heavy that it leaves a waxy finish on your skin that you can sense to the touch. Surprisingly, ambergris doesn’t make the list. Don’t let the “Cedre” in the name fool you: this is as much a floral scent as it is woody. The cedar and sandalwood restrain the natural extroversion of the florals, creating an impression of dignity and self-control. Cedre Blanc is formal rather than sensual. It smells very expensive. I personally find it to be more suited to a woman than a man. Princess Diana might have worn it with a black blazer and white pants. I can also picture it on a man with fine features and a serious demeanour, perhaps Julian Assange or Niles Crane. Refined and reserved.

It's very nice. It has a misty type of impression in the base, kind of like cotton feels as an impression to my nose. That sensation in the base seems to be musk and cardamom. The whole theme is around the central note of Cedar wood. There are florals and citruses in a certain kind of fusion at the top to give a sweetness to the scent. Like other Creeds, this one has a sense of maturity to it and mirrors a kind of old-world style, albeit with clean, modern tones mixed in. It seems to be a scent that others will detect only if they are close. There is a certain kind of soapy vibe to this in there too. Like a dove-brand type cream thing going on. I really enjoy this one. It's hard not to like Cedar. If you enjoy Cedar-centered fragrances then this is one you should try.

Clean and fresh. Shares a bit of a Millesime Imperial vibe but instead of juicy melon and salt notes, it has aromatic herbs/spices from the bay and cardamom. Inoffensive, easy to like, easy to wear also not super unique or noteworthy because of it.

Another under-appreciated Creed that has been recently discontinued. If you're thinking of getting a bottle, it's last call.

Over the years, Creed has grown in astounding popularity. From it's big #1 seller "Aventus" to it's newly launched fragrance "Viking" which has become a holiday go-to gift for all men and women in life. Creed's unique blend of bouquets has a sophisticated old world feel and yet contains such a current sentiment. For me, Creed has always painted portraits in my mind. Erolfa that takes me to Joaquín Sorolla's painting "El Barco Blanco" a fresh, breezy, seaside dream. The mineralism of Silver Mountain Water trasnsports me to "The Great Bellringer" by Marko Pernhart. There are complexities but simple and elegant enough to be worn. Without a doubt, I knew I came to Creed at the right time for holiday shopping. Cedre Blanc is a stunning, radiant, voluptuous fragrance that reminds me of an entirely new portrait; my memory of my childhood in The South of France. The beautiful aroma of Spanish broom being lifted by the provincial breeze. The refreshing pomelo juice being squeezed into my jar. Fresh cut Lebanese cedars that aged and died on the cliffs. This was something my grandmother would adore to have. The opening was a radiant mist of Spanish broom, and shasta lily. White, bright, illuminating. This fragrance remains wet and watery. I love that. It's like I'm near a pond bordered with white florals in the end of May. There is a lot of green in the middle notes but it's certainly not cardimom. I got a soft warm verbana, bay leaf, and toscanol for a little longevity. The dry down is elegant, a bit earthy, sort of dirty (maybe from a long day of sweat under the sun but that musky skin that flirts with florals). God I just love the acqua originale line from Creed. This is one to take in your collection of parfums for a life time.

Creed cedre blanc isn't something I typically go for.I'm not a Creed fan and citrusy-aromatic-woody scents aren't my type at all but when my friend told me that it has turned to her type favorite(and she wasn't typically into such fragrances too) curiosity overcame me so I asked her to bring her bottle so that I test it myself It's not bad.better than what I imagined.a fresh citrusy opening with a herbal aromatic twist and not too woody to let me down.I imagined it to be more on masculine side but nope,it would be good on both men and women.I enjoy it's first hour without loving it.although not my type,it appears as a pleasant and refreshing scent to my nose.it's made of high quality notes and has a light nature which makes it a safe choice for day wear in hot weather.after an hour or two flower notes start shining and turn it to something more beautiful and more feminine.unlike it's initial phase which is a meh for me,I really like it's drydown,not enough to pay it's high price but now I can see why my friend likes it.it's fresh and classy without being too much feminine or masculine,it feels calm and free in a simple,humble also high quality way.if you're looking for something citrus-woody-floral without emphasize on any of mentioned accords,which is wearable,well-balanced and mild give it a try.it lasted on my skin for about five hours,sillage seems to be soft to moderate but I think if you spray it freely projection improves without turning to something overwhelming

I am not a fan of Creed Acqua Originale line: to me it always smells like the lower tier, almost designer like frags... However, Cedre Blanc was a pleasant exception. The idea here was to create an airy cedar based fragrance that would invoke the feeling of being in the forest of Virginia, US. In a nutshell, this is cedar wood with white florals and a hint of greenness. Light, easy to wear casual scent. Spring and Summer time is best for it. Beginning with fragrant bay leaf and and bitter galbanum green aromatic notes, moving to subtle floral notes of geranium, lily, and jasmine, followed almost immediately with a base of Virginian cedar, vetiver, and a little bit of sandalwood. In spite of being marketed as unisex, it will scare off some men with the strong florals in the mid. Overall, solid fresh floral-woody scent, not the first Creed I would buy but something to consider if you need a different approach to freshness...Performance is that of a strong lasting cologne, not EDP. Projection starts dying off after first 15 min and stay as subtle personal scent bubble for 5-7 hours. In the summer heat it can re-activate unexpectedly but on cooler days it is a skin scent :(

Creed Cedre Blanc is a welcome member of the Creed family, a truly fresh woody fragrance that works even better in warm weather than in cold. The opening is accented by bergamot but quickly exposes the cedar, grouped with some vetiver and just a touch of cardamom for spiciness and some floral notes (I mostly smell the geranium). The blend is good but the emphasis is overwhelming on the the cedar, especially after the bergamot fades from the opening. Projection and longevity are a bit disappointing for the Creed price, as Cedre Blanc seems to reinforce the notion that the house is better at nailing the fresh citrus than the fresh woody or fresh floral, but it's a pleasant creation, just not especially intriguing. Not one that I'd look to buy (even on fragrancenet) but surely something worth of trying out if a cedar-based fresh woody fragrance is up your alley, Cedre Blanc is an agreeable option for warmer weather that could probably have year-round application. 6 out of 10

Citrus top notes in here are very well rendered and pleasing much like the majority of Creed fragrances. I have to say that the cedar and woody notes are not nearly as dry and prominent as I had anticipated but definitely a big factor and come over slightly clean more like vetiver. The opening is all about the delicate interplay of sharp citrus and that bay leaf note and a white floral/blossom type smell which is just freshens proceedings up enough, without overbearing or becoming too floral. The third factor in that opening is the greeness which is achieved through the use of Galbanum, and not to be understated, again a major factor in this scent. The drydown is a really pleasing and lasting citrus which sits on a nice light woody base. This is quality stuff but not exciting in anyway to me. Lasting power is okay and I suspect might even be one of those which last longer for others than the wearer...if you get what I mean? 'Not bad' is my verdict.

Cedre Blanc opening has a lot going on and it's very pleasant. There is zesty lime, green galbanum, fresh minty geranium and aromatic cardamom; all this is at the very top pushed by the woods and flowers (especially a very nice lily) at the bottom. A nicely balanced sweetness from flowers and a fruity accord is in contrast with a mild salty oceanic ambergris. The base is creamy but woody, sweet and salty. 7.5/10

I second most of what Tom Ford (reviewer below) has said about this. Wonderful scent with very low sillage and duration. Thats the price you pay for natural citrus and aromatics. REALLY beautiful though. Same story with Vetiver Geranium. If this could just project more it would be a triumph.

Reminiscent of Bleu by Chanel. Quite masculine and overwhelmingly cedar with a soft note of cardamom. Pleasant on a man.

The higher a fragrance goes, the more fancy the reviews seem to get lol. Not me. This is a green, mossy type that is a must for fans of those types. The image I get when wearing this is, Spring time, rain in the day, green trees & bushes all around. That smell you have with all that around, is what this smells like... with an added swamp somewhere. It's nice but a pass for me. This seems to lean more for a mature woman than a man.

so far this is my least favourite from the Acqua Originale line Cedre Blanc opens with a sour blast of citrus spic and wood until it starts to air out a little then the white floral note starts to smoothen it out into a nicely blending scent id say this scent is a safe one to wear to work or just on a causal day out since its not over powering or to in your face longevity and projection is on the low side so feel free to pump away at the trigger over all if your in the cedar dominating scents this is one to try on to the next ps even tho this scent is listed as unisex id say its better suited for a women

Creed makes some good fragrances, however many if not most belong to the department store league. This one starts as a soapy bergamot cologne before revealing itself and delve into the generic aquatic sportish cliché of many run-of-the-mill fragrances you find in most department stores. The fact that it uses a name with cedre in it is even more ridiculous. Buy Bleu de Chanel instead since this tries to seriously imitate it.

I'm wondering if I received a fake. I compared the bottle, which has a white cap, to a newer bottle of Vetiver Geranium with the gold cap. There are a few minor differences other than cap color (top of cap has a slightly raised logo while the other seems flush; the spray nozzle of the Cedre Blanc is smaller diameter than Vetiver Geranium; one has straight tube the other slightlycurved), but otherwise same. But the scent of the Cedre Blanc is barely noticeable from the very beginning. Very, very weak. Then I sprayed tons all over my shirt. A few hours later, nothing. Update: Nope. I received a subsequent decant through the fragrencenet.com PurpleLux subscription and the juice is exactly like the bottle. It's just a very, very weak fragrance, both in scent profile and performance. Not exactly a magnum opus for either Julien Rasquinet or Creed. And someone actually said this is the best Creed they've experienced after Spice and Wood? What's wrong with people's nose?

This is perhaps one of the Acqua Originale line that got slighted on its name. I thoroughly understand that the accord they were going for is indeed “white cedar” but here are the building blocks that seamlessly work to create it: Immediately on spraying you get a blast of bergamot. Citrusy but not sweet, this gives the opening a slight bitter greenness that dictates the tempo. It quickly (15-30 seconds in) starts to unwrap a bay leaf note that gives it a glossy smooth and ever-so-slightly sweet feel. Just as quickly, it unwraps a geranium note (much like the one in vetiver geranium) that is careful to stay in line as a harmony of the fragrance’s “song”. At about 2 minutes in, the sandalwood appears to give the composition a powdery yet balanced spice. Its at this point that, if the cedar and bergamot were not present; this could veer into spicy territory. It never does and meticulously keeps things fresh. This might be the quickest unfolding fragrance I have ever experienced. It does it though in a way reminiscent of an orchestra that starts a song with one instrument and continues to add instruments every couple of measures until the whole orchestra is playing and contributing to the song. After the 10 minute mark, this settles to a crisp cedar. Full and perfectly saturated, it gives one the illusion of walking in the woods on a crisp late fall/winter afternoon. The trees are stripped of leaves. If it weren't for your breath rising right in front of you, you could see nothing but trees for miles in any direction. As you walk, your foot snaps one of many hearty branches littering the ground. There is nothing distracting you. This is a walk in nature devoid of any purpose but to clear your mind and soul.

Fresh, green, another sleeper of a note list that on testing gave me the ubiquitous citric bergamot; that 20-30-50 lime, lemon and bitter orange combo, and then the culinary spice and warmth greeness. The florals give it some refinement and as usual with Creeds, the Quality is top floor of the building. But, it's simply nothing that even Creed haven't offered in terms of their even recent lines (Original cologne, Erolfa,, er, Vetiver-geranium,,even?!) Geranium and Vetiver seen almost everywhere, in any scent nowadays, sadly is a focal point of the scent too, when Creed should be focusing on the Oriental themes more. Refusal to use vanillic or real oriental notes keeps this linear and predictable. Of course, there's little sweetness, much greeness and woody florals to be had here, simply a highr re-release of the 1000's of woody-freshy designers out there with a little something extra in the white floral. More meh basically. It's only redeeming Quality to me, that it's a 1000x improved version of Brooklyn by Bond no9. My rating: 5/10. Scent Quality: 9/10.

As others have said this is not a woody ceder scent as the name might suggest, sure the ceder is there like a stable ground, but the first thing my nose and brain reacts to is the fruity, green, flowery feeling that is well blended and like fresh spring air... just a hint of sweetness. This is a perfume for those who like Hermes Voyage and Jardin Sur Le Nil type of scents. It's spring and summer in the air when I try this on, and I think this will be the one I reach for every summer evening when I come home from my evening swim in the ocean. Like many Creeds this is has low sillage and it will maybe feel like a skincent for many, but It's definitly there, and you'll get a wiff of it every now and then. Edit 13/06/21 When I came back to this scent I didn't like it as much as I did the first time... sweeter then I remembered and too fruity and green. It's a nice scent but I found others in this genre that pushes this down several steps.

When younger, I used to ride as a semi pro road cyclist in Albania. I distinctly remember that about 45 minutes into a particular mountain route, I would come into a part in the road that was bordered by evergreen trees both as far up and as far down as one could see. This fragrance reminds me of riding this route in the late fall before the weather really turns cold but is still crisp. It smells of the trees and the crisp air. This smell was elavated as it was paired with the heightened sense of smell due to my body fighting for every speck of oxygen (workout and thin air). The occasional branch snap and the echo of the seemingly endless wood are part of that experience as well. Despite the anecdote and vivid memory, the emotion is how this fragrance is most easily described. It is light but is still woody and crisp. Probably best for the fall. Not a beast but accomplishes what I want it to. Excellent offering.

Rather lightweight offering from Creed like all of the Acqua Originale quartet,with the possible exception of Iris Tuberose which is still a pale tuberose when compared to the powerhouse Malle Carnal Flower. Pleasant enough but not really groundbreaking,even in the Creed stable.The cedar note is subdued and overpowered in my mind by the natural smelling bay leaf note.Other than that no notes really stand out.Nice smelling but the volume is turned way down as far as projection,sillage and wow factor is concerned.I use it was my daily work scent and have yet to get any compliment or comment whatsoever. Luckily managed to pick this up for half the recommended retail price in David Jones Sydney store,a sure sign that it is well and truly on the way out (like the rest of the Acqua Originale experiment).

Great fragrance! My wife likes this also; goes on a little sweet with a lovely aqua feel with the accompaniment of citrus and woods; I do detect a bit of florals, however, not overbearing with the cedar making itself known throughout. Cedre Blanc is nice and fresh and has great longevity. I think the silage is average however, projection is slightly above average. This fragrance is not overpowering by any means-can be worn to work or out on the town and IMHO you'll get great staying power. This one is very different from Aberdeen Lavender, which I own as well....you will not go wrong with this fragrance. Projection: 7.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Silage: 8/10 Performance: 8/10 Overall: 8/10

This is lovely and almost drinkable for some reason. The naturalness and crispness of this and vetiver geranium is bar none. This fragrance is wonderful for someone who could afford it. It projects well for 2-3 hours but then gets close to carrying for at least 7 hours on my skin. The bay leaf in here is the best I have smelled and the cedar as if a fresh log is on your lap. The supporting geranium and citrus blends with a spicy cardamom and you have a top flight scent for an executive. This is made for the jack welches and Jeff Immlets of the world it smells wonderful

First the cedar is the main player in this fragrance mixed from the top to the base but with different tints . At the beginning spray the bay leaf and cardamom They mixed badly and made it a fragrance not likable to most people and the big problem lasts almost a full hour ! the heart Jasmine and water lily blend well and lasts about two hours. Then came the dry sandalwood and continues with the delicate amber and cedar to the end Scent : 6.5 Sillage : 6 Projection : 6 Longevity : 7 You must try before buy not for me

First on, it's water notes, citrus,a dusty note like iris and almost a cucumber note. Drying down, there's tangerine and a pasty wood note that I'm liking less. That note goes away and leaves the lovely tangerine with the faint cucumber and a light wood feeling. Clean and fresh, not soapy, not sharp but still a bit aquatic. Unisex. It's okay but I don't feel it's up to the level a Creed should command, especially at their prices.

Very nice and interesting cologne with a good staying power. Start a little spice fresh then you have floral smooth heart and stay with a fresh woody base with cedar, vetyver and maybe sandalwood. A little fresh powdery. Remind me my creed favourite Pure White Cologne with a woody base. Very beautiful composition, an allround cologne for me. Nice work Creed !

Very interesting fragrance. Begins with a resinous, spice opening. The top notes are very well balanced you can smell all of them. When they fade your left with a floral heart. Finally ending with a powdery, woody base. Smells similar to erolfa with a little aventus X pure white cologne.

Pleasant, citrusy woody aromatic, light, not overbearing, lasts about an hour max 2. Not a love for me but it's nice. Won't be buying the full bottle. I have 100+ niche samples for swap within Europe - updated spreadsheet of samples on my profile, get in touch!

Smells awesome...my favorite Creed scent after Spice and Wood. Lasts 2 hours tops though. Shame really. Encre Noire sport will get you 85-90% the same smell...just a bit darker than this.

This scent is very nice and light, but on my skin, it disappears. Within 10 minutes, you can hardly detect the scent. It is so faint. I would have bought the scent, if it lasted longer.

Very safe and pleasant daytime office scent. Smells like a cross between Creed Spice & Wood with a hint of Millesime Imperiale. High quality but not necessarily unique.

on me this is mostly a very (VERY) mild vetiver with a back-ground whiff of something aquatic. the epitome of unobtrusive and pleasant.

Unisex, floral, geranium. Smells like something a 70-something woman would wear to church.

there's some "good" copies/counterfeit of this out there, watch out!!!
