Green Irish Tweed

Creed, a fragrance house I don't shy away from calling overrated and overpriced, as most of their creations don't hold up to the expectations, expectations that are set highly due to the premium price tags. But when it comes to Green Irish Tweed, I nearly find myself making an exception. Not because of how groundbreaking the scent itself is, but because what it means to me personally. Growing up in a mountain village (not in Ireland, just to be clear), I was constantly surrounded by greenery and natural, green/herbal smells. The distinct smell of pine also played a huge role, although I'm yet to find that one pine fragrance that transports me back to the tall fir forests that I used to roam alone with my trusty dogs. But so far, Green Irish Tweed is the one fragrance that gets closest to reminding me of that place, even if it doesn't feature any piney accords. But yes, I also quite enjoy the scent, even without the emotional attachment. It opens with a very bright and nose-piercing citric blast, getting both the energizing, sweet and sour lemon, and the more bitter, refreshing bergamot. They are accompanied by an intensely herbaceous and grassy vervain, slightly clean and fresh. The peppermint doesn't go unnoticed, but it doesn't scream too loud for attention either; just a proper cooling, minty undertone, well-integrated. The galbanum plays one of the most important roles here in keeping the structure 'green' with its smooth green forest kind of smell. It's not resinous or "fatty" as in other compositions, just pleasantly green and bitter. The cooling sensation from the peppermint slowly morphs into a slightly aquatic, watery vibe - like freshly cut grass in the morning still filled with dew. That's the violet leaf doing its thing. Some aromatic florals such as the geranium and lavender append their herbaceous attributes to the scent with a subtle sweetness derived from the lavender. The violet sort of softens things with a powdery touch, but neither takes the whole composition into a floral-dominant direction. Once at the base, things soften down both in strength and overall complexity. You get the ambergris that does the heavy lifting regarding the salty, aquatic accord, while some dry woodiness serves as the grounding component, although it is covered in oakmoss, bringing a damp earth accord which is only fitting as a finale here. It's an overall hard scent to hate; well-blended and of high quality, mimicking the smell of each particular note quite accurately. For a green fragrance lover, this might be borderline the endgame of the genre, but I'm reluctant to call it that. The nostalgia does much of the heavy-lifting here for me. In classic Creed fashion, performance is not something to phone home about. While longevity did surpass my expectations with close to 9 hours on my skin, projection and sillage were quite mellow, not getting much pushing power 2-3 hours in. Those first few hours, fairly decent, but hardly room-filling. Not terribly mad at that, however. I can live with it. After all, nature was also quite gentle and calm back in the mountain village I lived, so it's only fitting. You won't be finding Green Irish Tweed a hard scent to wear at any point in time. It's extremely versatile, signature worthy, with spring being so to say, the season demographic. Outside of extremely cold winter days, I could wear Green Irish Tweed anywhere, anytime. While the scent itself here is quite lively and "in a good mood", I actually find it quite introspective and almost quiet. During the time I spent in that mountain village, a walk in the forest and the green-covered hills was part of routine. Not a day went by without at least one hour walk of pure silence. It was only me, my thoughts, and my dogs, and the occasional deer or boars we'd stumble across. And so, I very much tie this fragrance to those moments, especially since I got my 10ml Green Irish Tweed vial around the last two months I spent there, when I was completely immersed into the place, enjoying every last moment I still had. So even though the price to pay for a full bottle here is still quite out of my budget and not exactly what I'd consider worth rushing to buy, Green Irish Tweed will hold a special place for me, so I'll always keep a 10ml vial around. Got a new F batch a week ago, so decided to put some words on my experience with that after a few days of wear We're all different, so the perception of performance might vary, that being slightly or largely Performance wise: With 5-7 sprays I get anything between 6-9 hours with this. 2 sprays behind each ear, one on my hair, one on my throat and one of my neck FYI For me, I still get whiffs even after 5-6 hours of wear My better half could still catch a faint smell even after 8 hours, even though it was wearing rather thin at that point Decent projection for the first 4 hours I'd say As for the scent - this is the only perfume I can't get enough of. The type of smell you keep uncapping the bottle to simply get a glimpse of I remember reading someone saying this smells like an old mans closet, old suits and perhaps a hint of mothball added into the mix. It's not that inaccurate. But it's in a good way. Clean, fresh and certainly floral with hints of grass. The grass note is however, at least to my nose, not dominant, but it's there It's somewhat light, yet dense enough I get what people are saying when they mention the gentleman side of things here, it would certainly fit into the category of what a refined man could be wearing. For me, I'm not a nerd. If I enjoy a scent as much as I enjoy GIT, I don't care when or where I wear it Objectively, this could be worn all year long. To me, it's the perfect spring / early summer fragrance Cool Water is somewhat similar yet it doesn't come close to being defined as an alternative in my book. GIT has a very unique formula to it. It's insanely unique, and at least to me, with my bottle originating from' the F batch, it projects decently, and lasts long enough. That, combined with how heavenly well blended this specific scent truly is, I'd actually recommend anyone in doubt to give it a go Sample first if possible. It's just one of those (few) scents you fall in love with. I'll probably keep a bottle at any given time, as long as the longevity and overall smell won't change for the worse Give it a go. It's immaculate Tip if you are purchasing used bottles: The bottle is all black: in order to determine how much juice is left: I weighed my brand new bottle at roughly 396 grams. Thumb of rule is 1 ml of water equals to 1 grams. Despite oils and whatnot, I'd say it's fairly accurate to calculate that ~396 grams equals a full bottle. Subtract 100, and you'll be looking at an empty bottle at roughly 296 grams, give or take one gram or two (same approach for 50 ml bottles) Most people have a kitchen weight at home, so you could prompt any seller to verify the remaining liquid this way. Most would probably oblige, so be vary if they decline if you are not entirely sure Good luck

Green Irish Tweed has proven itself to be one of the most timeless fragrances ever created. Everything about this perfume is just fantastic. At the top, we get an invigorating blast of fresh, clean, green, and subtle spicy notes. These top notes will continue into the mid, but you will also start picking up on some wonderful floral notes that soften up at the base with some nice woody and powdery accords. There is also something musky, possibly the ambergris, that makes this lean masculine, though women could pull it off. Green Irish Tweed has a nostalgic vibe, but never smells dated or overly mature. It smells classic, but not necesarily barbershop or old-school forgere-like. It’s hard to pin-down, but there is something so wonderfully gentleman and polished about this. I think is best suited ages 18 and up so most could pull it off. As for occasion, this is incredibly versatile. I think it works best on spring days, but there is not a time or season when this cannot be worn. Perfect for work and casual day-time wear, but I wear this on nights out as well. One area where GIT shines is performance. I can spray this on before work at the 7am, and it will be there until at least 4 pm guaranteed. Projects very well for at least 4 hours so expect compliments. Another thing worth mentioning about GIT, or any Creed Fragrance for that matter, is the price. This stuff is not cheap, especially if bought from an official Creed retailer. If you don’t want to spend that much money, there are definitely alternatives. The best alternative would be Armafs Tres Nuit, they are VERY close. Many also swear that this is similar to Davidoffs Cool Water. I always thought there were many differences, but they do share something in common. Overall, Green Irish Tweed by Creed earns an easy 10 out of 10

I wound up getting a new bottle. Its pretty diffusive, i put it on about an hr ago first time and it remains noticable in the air without getting close to skin and sniffing. Not sure how anybody could smell this side by side with cool water and not have the beautiful iris in the g.i.t. jump out and slap them in the face, making them rather different. Tres Nuit tried to replicate this at least but just comes off as a mess in comparison, albeit wearable on its own. And honestly thats just the opening, only a fraction of the overall fragrance reminds of cool water as its drying down. Ill report back. Edit: so i have to say, this 2025 bottle performs pretty well. You get that amazing opening for about an hour, and it does project too. Got 2 unsolicited compliments with 5 sprays. I also smell it in the air around me about 2-3 hours, and then it came closer to the skin. However i started doing physical work and when my body heated up, that ambergris accord drydown started pumping again for a while! I feel like the opening and mid are a little thinned out in feel compared to mid 2010s bottles, but its performing decently. And that drydown with the "ambergris" is as good as i ever remember it, i got a ~2015 erolfa recently and it has the same creed signature drydown as that. Wasnt cheap, but i AM happy, especially considering how bad some people say the performance is. No freaking way id pay retail, not even half retail for something that lasts this long. But it smells of its price and you can get them for ~200 usd 100ml all day so if you got the dough and you enjoy this profile, treat yourself.

After going round the houses with different scent profiles and houses. I am gravitating towards easy to wear quality blended, clean masculine fragrances. As a mature man I’ve realised that more of everything is not always better. Rewind 40 years to the release of Green Irish Tweed. Who would have thought a 40 year old fragrance would have aged so well. This fragrance really is timeless. I am not a big fan of older smelling fragrances. Although I appreciate the history, they often smell too ashy, musty or anamalic for today’s tastes, including my own tastes. Fear not GIT is a total masterpiece. This smells fresh without smelling like a shower gel. It’s less green and more blue IMO. Has a watery, not salty freshness. The longevity for this profile is excellent, projection is strong for the first 2 hours. Versatility is the key to this fragrance. You can wear GIT in every season and occasion you can think of perfectly. You can find this for under £200 for 100ml. Hard to believe that Creed gets so much grief for the prices of their fragrances. When designers are pushing these prices now. The more I smell Creed I am really enjoying the house. Most from Creed are easy to wear and versatile while being unique quality blends. It’s all well and good having show stopper fragrances but realistically how often can you wear them. If you want timeless elegance, GIT is a no brainer. Sure you can get close to GIT with Cool Water. Unfortunately Cool Water just doesn’t have the same depth, class or quality of GIT.

I’m on my second bottle now, and it’s more than halfway gone. My first bottle disappeared ridiculously fast. When I first discovered Green Irish Tweed, I was completely mesmerized by it. It wasn’t just the smell—it was the way it made me feel. Calm, confident, put together... like the best version of myself. I was wearing five sprays every morning, and if I was headed back out later in the day, I’d hit myself with another two or three just because I wanted to experience it again. What I didn’t realize was that I’d become anosmic to it. I kept thinking it had faded when, in reality, everyone around me was probably getting a full dose of Green Irish Tweed. Somehow, nobody ever complained. These days I’ve learned my lesson. Two full sprays, and I’m good. I can still catch little reminders of it throughout the day, and I no longer feel the urge to keep chasing it with more sprays. Aventus usually gets the reputation as Creed’s “alpha male” fragrance. I own and enjoy Aventus, but if you asked me which one projects quiet confidence, maturity, and effortless masculinity, I’d point to Green Irish Tweed every time. It never feels like it’s trying to impress anyone. It simply does. There are plenty of fragrances I admire. Green Irish Tweed is one of the very few that feels like home. If I could only take one bottle on a trip, this is the one I’d pack.

Creed Green Irish Tweed feels like returning to something that shaped my early sense of what a fragrance could be. The first time I smelled anything resembling this DNA was in junior high, when the cool kids were wearing Aspen. It felt mystical at the time. Clean, green, and unlike anything I had encountered before. Green Irish Tweed carries that same lineage, but refined and elevated. What sets it apart for me is its natural character. It smells like someone gathered fresh lawnmower shavings and blended them with forest air. There is a crisp greenness that feels organic rather than synthetic. It has that just-cut grass sharpness, but balanced with smoothness and depth. On my skin, it performs better than I expected after the first wear. I did find myself reapplying, not because it disappeared entirely, but because I genuinely enjoy catching it again. After a few hours, it becomes slightly soapy, which softens the sharper green edges. Right now, this sits at the top of my list for a potential Creed purchase, though I wisely ordered a decant to spend more time with it. The enjoyment factor is high, and that matters as much as nostalgia. Green Irish Tweed feels classic without being outdated. It carries history, but it is still completely wearable today. For me, it bridges memory and present taste in a way very few fragrances manage to do.

Im in the market for an older bottle right now so im reading/watching stuff about GIT again hyping myself up 😅 Just wanted to interject with my 2 favorite alternatives to GIT....one is cheap and one is more expensive but still half the price of the creed. Cheap/"Clone" of GIT: Definetely goes to Aspen, i find cool water different enough that i like it on its own while also liking GIT. Vintage cool water has a very nice ambergris accord, like creeds just about. But aspen has that WOW! sensation in the opening lol. The one that makes GIT famous, but that cool water is lacking. Ive also tried Tres Nuit (smells like cool water) the haramain one (l'adventure or something?) And duas clone. Vintage Aspen is better than them all (look for larger splash bottles or short ingredient list on box). Only downside: Performance is lacking. You can overspray to increase projection with success, but as an eau de cologne it wont last all day in any meaningful way. Niche Quality/Similar but not a clone: Fougere L'aube by Rouge Perfumery is absolutely incredible, you could certainly wind up preferring it over modern GIT, regardless of the rogue being much cheaper. Even more natural smelling to my nose than GIT, approximately same performance. Also youd be supporting an indie perfumer and i always got free samples with the bottles i bought

After smelling GIT I realized I cannot judge the DNA without smelling the original fragrance. And that goes for all of the Creeds so far. 5 years ago I got a bottle of Cool Water. To me it was sharp, unrefined and smelling like a Domestos toilet cleaner unfortunatelly. Then I bought a sample of GIT and I was blown away by the difference. There is no deny that they smell really similar, but just the raw quality of Creed pushes the DNA from a cleaning product to a gentleman's staple fragrance. This is my comparison. Imagine beautiful scenery with flowery meadow, crystal clear river, blue sky without any clouds and in the distance mountains with peaks covered in snow. Now GIT is like a painting of this view by a very skillful expressionist painter. For Cool Water take the same scenery, take a picture of it with mid-2000s Sony Ericsson phone and print it on a needle printer. Thats how different these fragrances are even though they have the same idea. GIT is beautiful. Pronaunced fresh clean ozonic violet (leaf). Not tipping to the leathery aspect. Greens, airy freshness. Truly a work of art even with controverial history of its creation and whole Creed's practice of creating fragrances. The price is high. But if you love it, why not to spend the money. I have many regretful buys in my collection, this is not one of them.

I love this scent, I smelled it a few times when I was younger and eventually discovered it (and it's price, unfortunately) and bought a clone of it. Though it wasn't really that close I still loved the scent, I finally got a small bottle of the original and it has just as many memories. It's such a memorable and unique scent, people can compare it to Davidoff or Irish Spring all they want it is still an excellent fragrance. Something so soothing, clean, and sophisticated about it makes me think of tweed and a nice library. It is classy, it is elegant, and I think it's hated by some because it comes from a position of real sophistication that isn't boisterous, attention-seeking, or trying to be something it isn't. This isn't a douche smoking a cigar and trying to prove how much of a "MAN" he is, this is someone who is confident and doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. I will also say it isn't "just for older men" or whatever some of these doofuses are saying, you've gotta to find fragrances that fit your personality. So if you're a broccoli-headed immature 18-25 y/o who loves Sauvage exclusively, then this isn't for you. However, if you're a well-adjusted young person and use this fragrance appropriately, then you will stand out from a crowd overflowing with overly similar and uninteresting scents.

Creed Green Irish Tweed in 2025. Let me start off by saying longevity is not an issue for this fragrance. 2 Sprays on my chest are all I need to pick up on this throughout the day, eventually down to a skin scent but lasting all day on my clothing. 4 sprays and suddenly I'm pretty sure I went nose blind to it because wow less is more with this scent. This is how I expect every Creed to be: incredibly smooth, luxurious, different from all the current hype beasts in today's market, truly a scent that stands the test of time. I find myself wearing this more and more as new releases come out because it's simply different. There is no other green scent like this in my 100+ collection. The iris and violet are a lovely combination, giving it that herbal green-ness from top to dry-down. My Vampire-Diaries-fanboy came out when I saw this has vervain as well, which is supposed to add to the herbal vibe, and it's done very well. While smooth, it can be headache inducing if you overspray, 2-3 sprays were all I needed, plus the nice atomizer on this projected the scent well across my chest, I cannot get enough of this fragrance. Scent 10/10 a staple in fragrance culture Longevity 8/10 lasts better than you think Price 8/10 pretty good as you can find tester bottles for $250CAD Overall 9/10 for me.

I held off on getting this for ages because of people's lukewarm impressions and comparison to Coolwater which I'm not insane about, but I sampled it at a super cool little shop in the Maine Mall today, and my mind is blown. I ordered a tester from Jomashop in the parking lot because I was so impressed, but it took a minute. I went to the pool and it washed off, so I can't smell it right now to give better initial impressions, other than to say that particularly after a decent dry down, the gentle green/floral notes mixed with the incredibly smooth and inoffensive musk that they use create one of the best fresh men's scents that I've ever smelled. It performs incredibly well it seems, too. I had it sprayed on my left wrist, and on the right I had Patek Maison Prisme Rouge which is a pretty bold BR540/Kalan type scent, and all I could smell the rest of the day was the Tweed. In the air after dry down, I think it is incredible. I can see why so many people wear it. It's such an iconic-feeling fresh scent with a clearly expensive finish on it. I can't wait for the bottle to come. I'm so hype. Already feeling like it might be time to sell off a few redundant bottles and get a little stock of this going. Never thought I'd get to the point where 200USD bottles sound like a bargain

Green Irish Tweed is very fresh, classy, and powerful - basically the person I’m trying to become when I stop hitting snooze. From the first spray, it comes in hot with bold green and aquatic notes that don’t ask for permission. It’s a little loud at first, like it just cannonballed into the pool...but give it a few minutes and it finds its manners. Once it settles, a gorgeous iris note steps in and smooths everything out. The sharp freshness turns elegant and slightly powdery, still backed by those green notes that keep it grounded. The best way I can describe it? A perfectly tailored tweed jacket casually draped in the middle of the woods. Academic. Outdoorsy. Quietly intimidating. Performance-wise, this thing shows up. I’m talking over two hours of arm’s-length projection and a solid eight hours on my skin. I even re-sprayed in the evening before a party - not because it needed it, but because I wanted everyone in the room to know I have excellent taste and possibly a library with a rolling ladder. Would I buy a full bottle? Emotionally, yes. Financially... let’s say I’m manifesting. If someone gifts me this for a birthday or holiday, just know that’s not a present - that’s a declaration of love and deep personal appreciation.

So you want to smell like a sexy old man? So you want to smell like you just walked through a warm bright hot meadow and then dove into brackish water to cool off. So you want to smell like Hozier In A Week. This perfume is incredibly aptly named. You will feel green, Irish and tweed. It will make you feel like a seaside hobbit. Its a charming men's fragrance because its not afraid of being off the typically beaten path you'd expect. I say you want to smell like a sexy old man in the most positive way possible. This man is a professor, hes strange he's balding, he wears that tweed suit jacket with beige utility shorts and one of those charming diamond patterned sweater vests under that. His shirt is a strange soft buttery yellow, his notes and texts he presents with get carried in a beaten up leather satchel that is very stained with use and a bit of paint. He wears strapped dad sandals he's about 62 and he has the thickest bottle glasses you've seen in a chunky pilot glasses frame. His paunch is hugged by that damn vest and his tightly belted pants. The belt being old dark brown cow leather. Leg hair. OUT. I want him so bad, but I cant have him. So instead I'll be him.

The main difference between the original Creed Green Irish Tweed and Davidoff Cool Water perfumes is that Cool Water is more herbal and slightly oceanic whereas GIT has a powdery violet note that mixes with its own ambergris base and that’s an incredible combination that makes the drydown the biggest difference between both. In contrast, Cool Water’s drydown is less flowery and intoxicating, and perhaps more masculine. Both are insanely good. I am going through my 3rd Cool Water EDT and I might get the GIT as well (only used samples before), that’s how much I love these two scents. And I have been a great fan and have used some men’s scents such Chanel AHS, Chanel Platinum Egoiste, Dior Sauvage EDT, Bvlgari Aqva Atlantiqve, Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir, Boss Bottled Night, and more and love the smell of unisex stuff like Comme des Garçons 2, CK Be, etc and for women scents like Mugler Alien EDT, Dior Poison, Dior Pure Poison, Miss Dior EDT, Dior Forever and Ever, Bvlgari Jasmine Noir EDP, etc. In short, it’s a timeless and unique scent that is as nostalgic as smelling chicken soup and as ethereal as feeling the forest mist in the morning.

This is my comfort scent. It takes me to a warm green coastline with trees and tall grass with a cool breeze sweeping the ocean through the air. I usually don't like older scents and find them dated or rather outdated. And this one is borderline dated, it feels 90s, but timeless at the same time. It lasts on my skin for about 10 or 12 hours and longer on my clothes. When I first sampled this I it didn't blow my mind. 7 years later and I found that sample again and bam! Its what I want in a clean scent. It doesnt smell like fresh cit grass although it does bring that to mind. Spicy, floral green, clean, and musky. It doesnt really amell like Irish Spring or Coolwater either. But, its definitely in the category as those scents. Buy a small sample of it and give it a bit of time to grow on you if you're considering this one but have never had the pleasure of smelling it. But, this isn't for teens. This is a late 20s to mid 40s scent. Imagine a man in an Irish knit cardigan, khakis, dress shoes, leather strapped watch, gentleman's haircut.... this is what he'd smell like.

There’s a lot of talk about GIT vs Cool Water. I will clear this up by drawing a music analogy, as the art of sound is often mirrored by the art of scent. They are both playing the same song (“Greensleeves”, perhaps?) But, while CW is a rudimentary performance by a middle-schooler on a Casio keyboard, GIT is being performed by a world-class pianist on a Steinway grand in a concert hall. The “notes” (iris, verbena etc) are the same, but there is more clarity, depth, nuance, dynamics, and projection in the GIT. It is obviously a higher quality, and the notes resonate together in harmonic bliss. The CW version is unmoving and linear, while GIT will have you escape to another dimension; especially in the opening. So does it smell like Cool Water (or vice-versa)? It does. Does it therefore have the same emotional appeal? No. For those reviewers going on about how “The world has moved past this 80’s smell blablabla..It's dated...." Has the world moved on from Mozart? Bach? No, that's why it's "classical". What’s good is good. The only question is, “Can you pull it off?”

Sampled GIT for the very first time recently after a very overstimulating day. I took a relaxing shower, did my skincare, put on my music, put on fresh clean pajamas right out the dryer, sprayed it and just laid down for a moment... and what a gorgeous grounding scent. Immediately calmed me down and reminded me of being at my grandmas farm in the mountainous country side. It smells so clean and velvety with this light ozonic quality to it that just reminded me of that mountain breeze (if you've ever lived anywhere with lots of greenery on a higher-altitude you'd know what I'm talking about.) I haven't had a fragrance encourage me to put my phone down and just close my eyes and recall so many childhood memories in a very long time. I am absolutely addicted to it. Absolutely beast mode too which is insane for a green scent, I always get compliments. GIT is my first 50ml bottle from creed and I think it'll be my signature scent for a while which is kind of a big deal to me personally as an AUDHD king who's very easily bored of clean and familiar scents.

Green Irish Tweed is one of those rare fragrances whose notes and evolution are almost irrelevant. They are there, and they are masterfully composed, but describing them misses the point. GIT isn't a fragrance about scent; it's a fragrance about bearing. Utterly aristocratic, it reminds me of a Savile Row suit: impeccable, elegant, and completely free from the need to prove anything. What fascinated me most is that it doesn't speak for you. While many fragrances try to build an identity or demand attention, Green Irish Tweed assumes your character is already there. Its role is simply not to compete with it. Perhaps that's why it has remained a timeless classic for decades. I set out looking for a signature office fragrance and found something entirely different: a fragrance that refuses to be the protagonist. Maybe you need to have already found your own voice before Green Irish Tweed truly reveals itself. When it finally does, you realize its greatest sophistication lies in its deliberate choice to remain silent. 10/10

May I start by saying that GIT is the perfect signature scent for the mature refined gentleman, who is going about his daily business. He is not after compliments or drawing unnecessary attention. He does however move with purpose and sophistication. GIT opens with a fresh blast of garden freshness without being too floral or too green and challenging. Yes it is slightly floral and slightly green, GIT has a watery freshness and a superb blend that is pure class. Every note is balanced to perfection in GIT. Should your casual fragrance wearer buy GIT? Definitely not, it won't last for 14 hours and project into the neighbours garden, it will probably not get you compliments. To the mature fragrance nose you pick up the perfection in the blend, that is what you are paying for. Does this smell old fashioned, no time has been kind to GIT. For me this is a perfect fragrance. I look forward to wearing GIT. Yes I am late to the party but I am not leaving with out my fill of GIT. For the connoisseur who appreciates quite luxury.

This fragrance bypasses the critic brain and connects to something pre-verbal. The violet leaf and ambergris create a composition so naturalistic it smells like standing in a green field under overcast skies. The opening is energetic and green; the drydown meditative and rounded. Creed's material quality is fully apparent. Their scent profiles smell photorealistic and lifelike to the point one may compliment the way "you" naturally smell instead of complimenting your fragrance. That's the case here as well. The profile is very similar to fresh shavings of grass with a subtle shaving cream coolness. The distinct Creed signature ambergris adds just the right amount of character to the profile and makes it pop, the ambergris tends to make the notes surrounding them more lifelike. It has a beautiful simplicity: pure light wearable green scent. Just a gorgeous composition, one of my favorite fragrances of all time. The scent profile and vibe of GIT is amazing and one of my favorites of all time. The opening is so invigorating and fresh in the most natural way possible. That being said, the performance is absolutely abysmal. You will have to carry around a decant of this to apply during the day because you're looking at 2 hours MAX of anything resembling projection. But the scent is so good that I put up with it and do just that. Kinda a bummer because from what I have heard, this used to be quite the performing fragrance. It is not that anymore. But still smells oh-so-good amazing. EDIT: I’ve had my bottle for a little over a year now and used about an 1/8 of the juice. Returning to it this summer after not wearing it in the winter, the performance had changed drastically! It now lasts a good 8-10 hours! Was it maceration? No idea, but it did NOT perform like this when I first got it. Lovely surprise!

Green Irish Tweed didn’t blow me away on first sniff, but the more I wear it, the more I get the hype. It opens with a bright, zingy lemon / verbena and iris burst that feels like luxurious, old-money soap – clean, crisp and slightly fizzy for the first 30–60 minutes. After that, it settles into a beautiful soapy–green heart of violet leaf and ozonic greenery, like walking past hedges and wet grass after rain, resting on a smooth mix of sandalwood and salty ambergris that gives a soft woody-skin warmth. On my skin the projection is moderate at best and it turns into a close, elegant aura after the opening, with around 2–3 hours of noticeable presence before it sits very quietly. It’s not “beast mode” and the price is steep, but as a classy, “day at the races” kind of scent – the richer, smoother big brother of Cool Water – it’s become quietly addictive for me. 🍀

This is the only fragrance that I can wear more than a moderate amount and not get a headache. It has lovely fresh green notes that my wife compliments. It is compatible with most clean scents so if you get out the shower and use a fresh shower gel, this afterwards just enhances that fresh feeling and scent. For the price it's a tricky one because although I do believe it is overpriced I do genuinely experience and feel the quality of ingredients. Comparing it to Cool Water or Aspen, yes they smell similar but Green Irish Tweed is wearable for me as the others aren't, the others smell synthetic and like majority of fragrances I get a headache. Would someone else notice this? Yes if they were in close proximity to you for a long period of time I feel they would much rather you wear GIT than the cheaper alternatives. It smells better to me and way smoother also!

this is green, water, and freshness in a bottle. though i’ve never owned it myself, i remember being 9 years old when my dad got a bottle. like many of my dad’s fragrances this is expensive and he would always tell me not to touch but i could never resist. i have sampled this in recent years but am still not ready to pay $490 for it, and likely the price will go higher and higher. i tried to get my fix from cool water, i tried to get it from aspen, i tried to get it from tres nuit but they just don’t do it, they just aren’t the same. i can’t describe the note breakdown the best but i get vervain, maybe vetiver, what water would smell like in heaven, and the coolest greenness ever. a work of magic more than perfumery. one day i will definitely buy but unfortunately not today. still an easy 10/10 for me, i love it so much, it touches my soul, and also nostalgic.

Wearing an F batch for months now....no dude. This is still an AMAZING fragrance in current formulas and while it might remind you of this and that, its alot better than this and that. Im sorry but i have deep vintage cool water, ive gotten rid of tres nuit...i think alot of people that just have tres nuit are lying, sorry to say and may have never smelled GIT. Just the iris and the creed "ambergris" accord alone make the difference. Theres things like fougere l'aube by Rouge which is incredible on its own, but not a "clone". Its more a luxury/more natural version of aspen by coty than GIT. This is also probably my most complimented fragrance im pretty sure. Random people notice it and stop me. Like yes its overpriced, even with paying half of retail for it. But it just ******* works 🤷

I wore CW for years, from high school into my 20's, so I'm familiar with CW (even back then in the 90's and 2000's when the formulation was superior). For those saying CW smells better than GIT, I don't know what to say other than I disagree. After seriously collecting and trying and owning many niche fragrances, they smell similar but GIT blows CW out the water as far as quality. It's also greener and more natural. CW is a good alternative if you don't want to spend the money, but comparing CW to GIT as far as quality and making the argument CW is better is like saying dominos pizza is better than NYC pizza. It might be to your processed food taste buds but for those that like actual food they would go NYC pizza all day. Is it worth the money? Depends on you.

If I don't have a bottle of this, it's because every single drop was wiped out of existence. My loved ones and friends know I walk into a room if they smell this. What once started as a gift has become my beloved and most favorite scent. To be fair though... I could see how some might think this smells dated or too mature. It's definitely not a playful or youthful scent. I don't think the house of creed will ever outdo this.. What a masterpiece. The only thing that comes close to this is VIW. But they fit such different roles for me. Gorgeous scent. Just perfect. I haven't smelled recent bottles... No idea of they have changed the formula over the years. My bottles are definitely "vintage" territory.

I had a surprising good run with GIT yesterday afternoon. I tried it in the summer and it didn't last long, but it was a fresh bottle, so I threw it in the back of the drawer for a later day. It was 62F yesterday, so I pulled out the dusty bottle and applied 7 sprays. I had arms length projection for about 4 hours and then was in a scent bubble for a few more. That performance is more than acceptable for a freshie! I have had my nose on 300+ fragrances since I first wore it, and while the scent blew me away the first time, I no longer think so highly of it. Its just alright. I just oerder fougeres nowadays. I have a 15ml decant of a 2016 batch. Ill give that a run soon and edit this review. 8/10

Love this one. Probably the best creed in the entire lineup. I don’t know what the other votes are on but you can wear this winter, summer, day or night. I’d say it’s versatile. If you’re use to spraying a cologne and the whole room smelling you like Sauvage or SWY this one isn’t it. It shines much better when it’s subtle annyway. It’s Almost discreet after 4 hours unless you move quick and leave a trail and even then, they’ll get a hint of a scent. Dont bother spraying it on clothes it won’t stick for some reason. Idk what it is about creed but none of their scents stick to clothing long. With that said, if I ever have to goto court this would be the scent I’d wear easily.

i wear this in any place one would wear BDC. (so anytime, anywhere lol) this has become one of my favorite fragrances. the opening is extremely fresh and green, like fresh cut grass and leaves, its very invigorating. after an hour it transitions to a more woody scent but still holding on to that freshness. ive gotten multiple compliments on it, and the performance and silage are decent, it lasts a solid 6-8 hours on me and projects a few feet for the first few hours on my skin before retreating to a nice scent bubble. its a mature scent, id say 30+ is a good match. the price is steep but it just does the thing for me so its worth it for discounter prices.

A purple and green dream, that goes way beyond Ireland and soars for the stratosphere. A timeless feeling of sweet and beguiling masculinity is created upon each deep Inhalation. The price is obscene, but the feeling of well-being that it brings me is priceless. Green Irish Tweed helps old ladies cross the road, buys their shopping, and makes them a nice cup of tea. He gives children a high five, makes them feel cool, and keeps them laughing all day. He gives the cynics a welcome hug. He gives the gangster a shoulder to cry on. He gives the politician a dose of reality. He shows the unwanted some love. He puts everything in its right place.

Earthy, green, and clean. Wife is a big fan. If you want to own any of the Creed line I would recommend this one. Only down fall as with most of the Creed line is you need to re-apply after 5 hours. GIT is a mature fragrance. I'm not sure if you are under 30 you will particularly lean for this scent profile due to all the modern fragrances coming out. That Being said, I would hope that younger folks appreciate this for what it is. Keep in mind if you try GIT. This has one foot projection. Creed aren't suppose to be in your face loud. Picture mature, elegant, and refined. Not going to the club. More going to a Cigar lounge.

Fragrance Journal Entry #59 Wow what a truely timeless scent, like a rolex watch..just never goes out of style. I went into this fully expected a dated fragrance but i knew i had to get my nose on it or i wouldn't fit in with the cool kids. Think of an extremely expensive green bar of soap, not quite irish spring but something more natural. Starts off a bit earthy but as it dries down it smooths out. Performance on me was great for a freshy (6-7h). Don't be turned off by the release date on this fragrance, it has stood the test of time. Rating: 9.1/10 Blind Buy Safe? NO

To me this smells like a rich old man in the irish or english countryside. Absolutely beautiful and refined scent, and very wearable at the same time. My only problem with this scent, apart from being extremely expensive, is the performance. I have not had a chance to test out older batches, but they were apparently beast mode fragrances. I have the newest batch, and lasts 2, maybe 3 hours on skin with intimate to moderate sillage. It is a shame, because I really love the DNA of GIT, being my all time favourite fragrance.

Creed's GIT is like walking along a misted countryside just after a light spring rain. The grass is at its peak green, slick with dew, and fresh breeze hedges by the wildflowers. The air is cool but touched by warm sunlight... That fleeting moment when the clouds break and a golden glow spreads over the hills... You can smell the clean water of a nearby stream and distant sea air drifting in. There’s elegance and calm, but also vitality... the kind that makes you take a deeper breath and feel alive.

Green Irish Tweed is one of my perennial favourites. The opening to the dry drown & base accords all transition flawlessly & that ozonic, woody & grassy smell, I don't know how else to put it just makes me happy. Just wish it lasted longer than 4-5 hours in hot-humid weather. P.S on a seperate note ( I may be wrong) but I bought Dunhil's Amalfi Citrus a while back & I swear its opening notes somehow smell exactly the same as when GIT is transitioning from its opening to dry down.

This was the scent I wore at my wedding. I still have a bottle from 2017 (purchased in early 2018). Classic Lemon Verbena, Violet leaf, a powdery iris and a nice luxurious sandlewood amber base with the lemon verbena fading to a powdery mix of violet leaf and iris. #1 spot in my collection - timeless memories and a timeless scent. Longevity is still solid at 8+ hours. I use this sparingly now - typically reserved for special occasions.

Creed Boutique's official note breakdown: Head Notes: Peppermint, Verbena, Lemon, Bergamot, Galbanum. Heart Notes: Geranium, Lavender, Violet. Base Notes: Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Ambroxan, Oakmoss. That opening is one of my favorites ever. Wish the opening lasted longer and perhaps that the violet was removed (because I think that is the note that I "dislike" in this, but it doesn't stop it from being one of my favorite fragrances).

My Signature scent. Genuinely the most beautiful fragrance ever created. There is literally no clone like this. It smells so natural and not like the synthetic mess that is the 'alternatives'. I got lucky and purchased 2 full tester bottles recently and noticed this fragrance genuinely needs to maturate in order to have the full projecting power it's supposed to (Creed are clearly missing this step and want to sell fast).

This is magical scent..its turning from Blue luxury fresh shower gel to green freshly cut grass at Irish spring...and thats amazing. This is for real men, no teenage here...so dont blind buy this is not for everyone. Nature of Ireland in a bottle, one of the best scent that ever came to my collection, perfect longevity, very solid sillage for 3-4 hours...and one bonus guys - women absolutely love this :)

My favorite fragrance, if I had to choose one for life it would be tweed. I wear it year round but it shines best in the spring. It’s soft and powdery yet fresh and vibrant. I bought my bottle used with only a few sprays missing and it performs well. This will probably be my wedding day fragrance, my girlfriend loves when I wear it which makes me like it even more. It’s just so classy and versatile.

Got it during the C sale. Test it a few times. Give it a week before you decide if you like it. I almost returned it. It drastically changes after the first few wears. I couldn't detect anything but "green" at first. Now it is ALL there. Elegant and timeless. F batch seems very strong for this type of scent - as I am testing it in the dead of winter inside without much relative humidity.

This is the best scent ever created. All of the little boys' hate of this fragrance because they are jealous of its dominance and masculinity. I mean we literally have reviews on here saying this is a feminine scent. The new F batches are long lasting, ignore the idiots who say this fades instantly. As for what it smells like, it is ozonic, dewy, grassy, and elegant. 11/10.

When I die, I don't want a fancy funeral, but I do want someone to empty a whole bottle of this into my coffin, because this is the best damn thing I've ever smelled. It smells like angel farts. It's like a vacation in a bottle. It's on the short list of things to grab if my house is on fire. I want to spray directly up my nose onto my brain so I can smell it all the time.

It's formula has stayed generally the same throughout its availability, however some modern versions may not have great longevity. This one definitely grew on me. Wasn't a fan at first but now I love it. It's definitely a mature, masculine scent. Obviously you will have people who will hate it, and those who enjoy it. But to me it's something I wear once in a while, but love it when I throw it on. I would say not blind by safe unless you have the money.

The most beautiful scent. Uplifting and fresh, with a creamy dry down (same creamy vibe with Allure Homme Sport). There is literally nothing like this, trust me, no clone company has perfected this and the simple reason is, Creed uses natural ingredients with higher quality materials and blended by elite professionals.
