Jardin d’Amalfi

Creed Jardin D’Amalfi EDP opens with a moderate projection of mostly citrus, fruity, and woody notes. The opening is well-balanced, very fresh, sharp, unisex, mildly sweet, high-quality, and very pleasant. The mandarin, bergamot, and lemon combine themselves equally into a citrusy and mildly sweet accord, which makes the fragrance fresh but also very appetizing. The manufacturer lists petitgrain as an opening note instead of the neroli which Fragrantica does. Although somehow similar, the petitgrain has a more pronounced greenish woody orange smell. The petitgrain in this fragrance creates a bridge between the citruses and the aromatic green notes, with its orange leaves, green and citrusy accords which the cedar will enhance adding a fresh and vibrant woody touch. The apple is also noticeable, a note closer to the green than the red apple, this note enhances the green facet of the petitgrain. So far, the notes of the fragrance are equally balanced. Taking more modest participation is the rose, just an aromatic touch that does not make the fragrance feminine. As the fragrance moves towards its dry-down, the white musk becomes more prominent but not overpowering, it acts as a projecting accord. Similarly, the vetiver joins with a fresh green note that blends with the contributions of the petitgrain. The vetiver presents itself as green and delicate, and feels very refined, it blends well with the other green notes in this fragrance. The cinnamon and pink pepper are the weakest of all notes, just a faintly spicy and sweet support touch. The fragrance has some basic opening to dry-down changes, the notes during the opening are sharper because of the citruses, it feels moist and the white musk isn’t as noticeable as it will be later on; towards the dry-down, the citruses take a step back, the white musk develops making the fragrance feel dry. Once Creed Jardin D’Amalfi EDP has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, mildly sweet, citrus (bergamot, mandarin, petitgrain), green (petitgrain, vetiver), and fruity (apple) fragrance with some musky, woody, soft spicy and floral accords. The fragrance feels aromatic, casual, comforting, delectable, delicate, elegant, energizing, exotic, exquisite, faint, fine, fresh, fruity, gentle, green, high-quality, inviting, light, modern, natural, nicely-blended, playful, refreshing, relaxing, sour, sporty, mildly sweet, unique, versatile, light woody, zesty, and very pleasant. Last Christmas, I received an OilPerfumery brand pure oil imitation of this. I was always perplexed, thinking it had a SweeTARTS or some other super high-sugar candy vibe. Let me say, that imitation oil for $12 is amazingly close. Literally ~75% there; slightly different opening and not quite the longevity. Fast forward a year later, I finally bought the real deal 75 mL bottle. Actually, I got two because a seller accidentally sent me this instead of Creed Pure White Cologne, and he cut me a good deal to buy Pure White Cologne again; so, I got a tester bottle of Jardin for essentially $150 with a couple Tom Ford samples, too. Score. On the bottle, the design is gorgeous and a slight step up from Creed's typical offerings, coming with 10k gold plated accents and a small gold gilded charm, too. I'm a big bottle guy, as I'm the idiot who will consider some fragrances almost for the bottle alone. However, this is one where the bottle matches the juice! Another note on the bottle: the sprayer is different than the normal Creeds. Instead of that monster sized atomizer, this one is a little smaller and doesn't output that nuclear sized downpour of mist, like Aventus or Royal Mayfair will. Nonetheless, it's still a nice atomizer and is acceptable for a fragrance at its retail price. The scent itself will take you right to the Amalfi Coast! Few fragrances live up to the name, and this one's an exception. The opening is absolutely mouthwatering. It's the perfect amount of sharp from the fresh lemon and bergamot--but more lemon than bergamot. Just wow! Putting my nose right on it with my mouth a little open (weird I know), I can literally slightly taste it, in the best way possible. Absolutely flawless, and I'm picky about citrus scents! The backbone the entire time is the smoothest cedar I've ever smelled, impeccably balanced with a hint of spice (pink pepper I think). Of the Les Royales collection, this is the best, hands down. As far as a comparison, I think it's similar-ish to Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi, another of my all-time favorites. The TF is a little more feminine to my nose, and it's leaning more towards the orange category, but this is also in the same overall vein. I'd say they honestly compliment each other. Perhaps this is "his," and the TF is "hers." In my case, they're both "his," and I love them both about equally. That being said, this smells a little more "niche" and perhaps a little higher quality, not that the TF is lacking in quality. At first I wasn't 100% sold, but I regret putting off buying this. Glad to have 5 oz of it in my collection, and I don't ever want to be without it. If you haven't smelled it, it's a safe blind-buy if you're fine with distinctly unisex scents that may lean a little fem. I doubt you'll be disappointed. Definitely in my top 10 of all time, maybe top 5. It's the best Creed to date to me at least. The longevity lasts all day for me, and it projects for about 4-6 hours pretty well--just hours of the most pleasant, enveloping freshness. By about 8 hours, it's a skin scent, and it's detectable after 12 hours when I'm showering usually. 10/10 fragrance. 9/10 sillage, 10/10 longevity for a fresh scent. 10/10 overall.

Jardin d Amalfi is a journey itself. It takes you to a journey of freshness. Extraordinary quality makes you feel you are in a garden full of fresh greenness and flowers with mild wind blowing along and the breeze bringing along all the freshness possible in the world. Orange, neroli, apple and Rose all are prominent notes for the first few hours and later is joined by some woods and musk for the rest of the lifespan. Longevity is moderate to good and projection is pretty good for the first 1-2 hours and then mellows down to a skin scent. If you are looking out for a quality in your frags and not a beast performance follower than this stuff is made for you. I give it a 9/10 only because i think that for many the price wont be justified because its not a great performer. Brilliance written all over this lovely frag. A must try for any frag head.

A great summer floral bouquet with a spicy citrus undercurrent. The Bulgarian rose is the star of this fragrance and blends beautifully with the lusciousness of French apple. I am in love with the amazing citrus amalgam (tangerine, bergamot) and with the inclusion of the spicy pink pepper berry note. It seems to balance out the velvety smoothness imparted by the rose, giving it a much needed roughness and edge. Vetiver from Haiti and Virginia cedar give a woody backdrop to the entire show. Again Olivier Creed mesmerizes my senses with his astounding gifts as a master of perfume artistry. It amuses me that the conceptual idea behind this fragrances was a modern dance performance by American dancer Isadora Duncan in 1927.... The first time I smelled its beauty, all I could think of was "Bravo"! (70)

Despite the price tag, woah this is good! Definitely in the realm of a typical citrus cologne, but beefed up with modern ingredients in a skillful way. This doesn't smell exactly like Xerjoff's Nio because the details are switched out. But the way this has been made to last for more than 10 mins as a freshie is identical. Lots of transparent white musk, neroli, and some green aromachemicals that somewhat resemble mown grass. This opens really bright and vibrant, soon settling into the mid-base notes that stay for a long time. White musk appears within 20 minutes, accented by the other notes. The combination is slightly soapy (from neroli and white musk), but still soft and pleasantly sweet. Really clever way of making a low-projection classic citrus cologne that lasts for some time.

A truly beautiful scent, very natural smelling and clean - I get a slightly soapy vibe. On my skin I get mostly rose and neroli. The neroli is a bit like the neroli in Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino - very bright and summery. While the rose note is a watery kind of rose (I cant think of a better way to describe it), it kinda reminds me of a rose apple and not a rose petal. The scent is definitely unisex - in the same category as Creed's MI, without the longevity issue. I get a solid 6-8 hours of moderate to good projection and then it becomes a skin scent. Some have said that JDA is very similar to D&G light blue . I do see the similarity however only in the later stages of the dry down. JDA is so natural smelling you really can't compare it to Light Blue. Final score = 8.5/10.

It's an amazing scent. Opening is little bit straight and obvious and I'm really happy I splashed it on the wrist (just by occasion, without any reason). 10 minutes - and WOW. So gentle and well balanced blossoming, iridescent and deep but still unobtrusive. I can't stop myself from sniffing it. It's so beautiful that it seems tragic. Too good to exist. After about 7 hours it becomes soft and homely - apples and cinnamon, summer evening... I don't understand people said about "regular neroli-citrus" in reviews or about pure longevity. It lasts the whole day on the skin. And all that day it's changing and playing. Amazing scent. 9.5/10 (I'm really not interested in the opening)

This fragrance has three main acts, the first act on application is the bergamont, lemon and a really nice realistic tangerine note. This then leads into the heart of the scent with a beautiful neroli and rose whilst still having the fruit notes lingering. I have to say the neroli in this scent is heavenly. The final act comes in the basenotes where you get a musky vetiver with cinnamon and ambergris with the neroli lingering. And after seven/ eight hours thats what I'm left with now is a lovely ambergris and neroli just projecting lightly off me. A huge thumbs up from me with this one as it does smell incredible and the neroli is of the best quality I have ever smelled.

Forget Aventus, this is Creeds BEST fragrance. First time smelling Aventus was also my first time smelling Jardin D'Amalfi... Jardin made me say WHOA. Now that ive got 40 niche fragrances in my collection its fair to say this is THE BEST Citrus fragrance on the market. It smells ROYAL, smells like something Oligarchs wear. The main note is the citrus, all the other notes are there to support and twist the citrus to smell like a Masterpiece. Projection and Sillage is a joke! Its not worth $500 but thank God I found Dua's version called Dua Amalfi Coast and let me tell you it smells BETTER than the OG and last way longer. Get it.

Opens gloriously with an intense burst of the freshest mandarins and lemons; the entire fruit, peel, juice and flesh. It’s mouth-wateringly refreshing. Soon after, gentle floral accords of neroli and rose bring refinement and serenity. If there are any heavier notes beneath the flowers they have escaped my attention. This is a light and simple fragrance, longevity is inevitably short, but while it sticks around it is an utterly sumptuous experience and every note smells astonishingly natural. Supremely elegant summer fragrance, the delicate florals lean towards femininity, but obviously this would smell heavenly on anyone.

After a lot of deliberation, I decided to go for a full priced bottle of Jardin D’Amalfi - it’s the most I have ever paid for perfume, but there was something in this I kept coming back to. It didn’t smell like any typical citrus floral scent that’s saturating the market; there was a natural freshness (and smoothness in the blending) that felt extremely elegant without calling attention to itself. It may lean feminine to some, but I found that this goes extremely well with a linen jacket in the middle of an afternoon cocktail event. Gotta admit the flacon is a little OTT though.

as a big creed fan, most of their scents i think wow , something special, but i get a sniff of this and i think wholly shit they did it again, has to be one of the best citrus scents i have come across, just beautiful.. well done creed..very special.. i gotta save some money! wow!! a mouth watering fragrance..lol... i mean not every scent they make i fall in love with , but most of them i have appreciation for all their efforts seems as though most of their scents will fall into the love category and this is no exception..maybe there should be a category for really love it.

Jardin d'Amalfi is, quite simply, a masterpiece. Yes, it's pricey - but there's genuinely nothing else quite like it. The opening? Imagine the juiciest, most photogenic Amalfi lemons and mandarins gently whispering, "yes, we're hand-picked... and organic". No synthetic edges here. As it develops, Jardin d'Amalfi reveals elegant cedarwood and a whisper of rose, refined yet subtle. Woven throughout is an unmistakably lush, green freshness that elevates the fragrance beautifully - and leaves you craving more. Truly unisex, absolutely timeless, and perfect for summer.

This is an excellent summer scent IMO. I think it revolves around neroli even if it does not present itself as a neroli perfume. The citrus and apple notes make it unapologetically bright and zingy but appreciably sweet at the same time. Truly interesting and unique. Definitely worth a sampling. With that said, I think with Creed watering down its formulas you will get better value if you buy a dupe like Dua's if you want better longevity for much less money while getting a scent more faithful to the original version than what Creed is pushing out these days.

This juice is magical. First few minutes will trick you but give it a few... sit back & enjoy the ride down luxury Blvd!! The sights are spectacular... You'll hit mandarin street, which was the longest of all, but once you hit bergamot Ave, crossed by cedar, you'll run right into rose blvd!! GLORIOUS... Then you'll come up to apple ave, take that left and you'll see vetiver!! There you'll be on white musk valley but be forewarned, don't blink or else you'll miss cinnamon court!!! WHAT A RIDE!!! NOT TOO OVERPOWERING & WORTH THE TRIP!!!!

I know what I like and what I would buy... sniff sniff... if it was cheaper... This is so beautiful. I have Love in White that I love too, but ok it costs 400 euros less. I bought this carded sample from Creed and this is the best of the 5 Royal. People are comparing it to Light Blue.... helllllooooo, no way. I had Light Blue and it has citrus all right but that is where the common thing begins and stops. In fact I have JdA on my wish list and I will wait till Creed decides to sell it in a 30ml bottle :). Oh well you never know...

Green citrus peppery. I was actually expecting a lot more citrus. I mean, mandarin and lemon are there but somehow the pepper takes over. It's interesting. The start is alright but slowly it becomes better, more rounded as if the notes finally are synchronized. The drydown is much better, the musk and vetiver bring some cleanliness and understated sophistication to the whole fruity composition. I don't find it groundbreaking or innovative but if the longevity is as good as with most Creed fragrances, then I will keep it in mind.

I bought a 250ml bottle today and I am in love with this. Frankly speaking, the initial scent was not that pleasant. When I sprayed it on a test strip and my wrist, it smelt like dusts and it was very very weak. I didn't know what to think. However, in 15 - 20 minutes, it started projecting a bit with very pleasant scent with floral and mild sweet notes. The scent was subtle and luxurious. The longevity and projection are 7 out of 10, but it is still the best creed product hands down.

One of my favourite spring/summer scents and one of the best Creeds out there. Fresh, slightly sweet, beautiful. @Latetothescene it is expensive but worth every penny, it is possible to find it for 60-70% of the retail price, or even a tester for 40% if you do not need a cap. I have tested the clone from Alexandria also looking for a cheaper option but it is not close enough. You are right with the batches, I have two bottles and they are slightly different, but both great.

One of the most natural scents of all times comparable in idea to Xerjoff Nio but alongwith quality it has the advantage of persistance. The soft bergamot topped by ripe juicy sweet mandarin supported so well with shadow of orange blossom leaves. Pink pepper and vetiver softly provide cultured crispiness. The longevity is remarkable with a intimate projection. Probably my no.1 Creed at the moment. Not sure if the high price is for the perfume itself or the exclusivity.

One of my all-time fav's. I thought the combination of clean neroli, crispy citrus and luscious apple was novel and quite captivating. It is gorgeous, clean, and elegant, all in one bottle. Sun shine, citrus grove, neroli and crispy apple with a hint of musk and cinnamon. Divine. It smells lovely on me and always gets me noticed, from men of all ages to my cute teenage nieces LOL. The scent also has excellent longevity and sillage. To me, it is well worth the money.

This perfume is made of superior ingredients, everything smells extremely high quality, neat, elegant. For me this fragrance is one of the highest quality fragrances in my collection It is definately unisex fragrance, not masculine but the smell is just perfect citrus and clean. The only downside is that it is so expensive, and it's not a blind buy considering the price of it. Compliment wise: I've received compliments every time I went out with this fragrance

Gorgeous. Tangerine dream. Bright tart Tangerine opening, quite sweet softens and a bit of fleshy apple helps begin to body out the scent. Exquisite, bright refreshing. However as gorgeous as it is it’s fairly short life is annoying for the price. If money was not an issue I’d easily put up with that as the first few hours are lush. Similar and better than TF Mandarino Amalfi but again performance makes TF a technical better buy.

finally i got to try this BEAUTY. OMG, this beats my favorite Neroli Sauvage and other neroli beasts like Colonize by Nishane or Neroli Canvas by Haramain. so much refinement. the neroli and bergamote they used in this baby, is out of this world. its pricey for a reason. WOW... mindblowing blend, love it, its a fragrance fit for a king or a Queen, 10/10

Such a beautiful fresh citrus. In fact, the best citrus I've ever encountered. It has an icy breeze within it - the word Freon comes to mind - THAT cool. Perhaps this chilly waft is from the vetiver and cedar. Almost frosty. It's nice on a hot summer day. I imagine ice cubes chinking in a bright sparkling glass of citrus.

This is the most airy refreshing citrus I've ever tried in perfumery and I reach for this perfume a lot in the hotter months, as I find it so refreshing. I do think this is one of the best Creed perfumes, and I can see why its so expensive for the quality of the ingredients. Such a beautiful fragrance.

Beautiful fragrance. I get citrus, neroli, apple and cedar. Overall, Creed seems to be very good at making citrus scents - clean, pleasant, effortless, wears like a weightless chiffon veil. Longevity and projection are decent, especially for a citrus perfume.

A fantastic fragrance for my mind; the tangerine is really very nice indeed. It manages to be powerful, yet also light and fragile at the same time. I've never been to the Amalfi Coast, but if it smells like this, it's a must visit!

I came back for a 2nd review. Now that I've literally sampled hundreds of fragrances Jardine D'Amalfi is still the best citrus fragrance ever created. Its a masterpiece. This is what Royals and Oligarchs wear in the 21st Century.

A White Floral for everyone. The citrus is realistic and the opening is divine. It doesn't project all that long, but for a realistic NATURAL scent, this is about as pure as I've smelled. Wish it lasted longer.

That tangerine and neroli combo is so juicy and fresh, absolutely beautiful but such a quiet soft fragrance. I wanna douse myself in it. I wish there was a body wash or lotion that smells exactly like this.

With this one I get primarily white floral, vetiver and pink pepper. It is a wonderful scent that is straight down the middle unisex. It has some interesting contrasts and I enjoy wearing it. My Score: 8.5

It would be but a dream to have another bottle of this. It's a very mature classy scent. It opens up very citrusy, then leaves with a beautiful floral scent. I wish I could have another of this.

Unique and additive. This is luxury perfume, for a warm climate. Best in it’s class. Picture: sweet mandarins wrapped in newly minted $100 bills. Score: scent 10/10 performance 6/10

The new formulation is watered down and lacks depth and personality. Greed from the companies is turning gems from the past into overpriced room sprays.

Fantastic! Not even close to D&G Light Blue.

I detect 3 distinct layers: each lasts about 5 minutes longer than the last, skin scent at 2nd layer, so after about 15 mins, elides from feminine bergamot/cold citrus to sweet neroli, & quickly flips into #2 pencil shavings, & that’s where the unisex, cedar, lives. May be too high expectations, but, at this price point, $545 for 75mls, for a “3 in 1” scent that slips from layer 1-2 in a blink, & becomes a “skin scent” at layer 3, in less than a wink, maybe 10 minutes, seems pricey. Except for Silver Mountain Water & Fantasia de Fleurs, seems the lasting power in modern Creeds is weak, & Jardin D’Amalfi is no different. If you imagine layering demeter’s log cabin, then atelier cologne’s grand neroli, then Goutal’s eau d’hadrien, you’ll know Jardin dAmalfi. Above said, it’s a delightful scent, clearly on the feminine side of unisex before pencil shavings in the dry down replace the 1st & 2nd layers completely - lasting power maybe til 11ses...

Although this fragrance is classified as a Citrus, my least favorite group, Jardin d' Amalfi is quite tolerable to my nose. This is not a bitter, sharp, migraine inducing citrus but a sweet, fresh, low profile citrus with energetic qualities. I'm going to take a leap here and wager that the Amalfi tangerine, a note I am not very familiar with, is the culprit that allows me to enjoy this unique aroma. It seems like a vanilla plant cutting was grafted onto an orange tree and produced an amazing fruit flavor similar to that of an orange-cream popsicle. The vetiver is not very prominent but it does give the musky creaminess an added boost. Nice and light but smooth and creamy. Whipped cream meets Orange Sorbet. If you mix Orange Juice, Milk, and 43 liquor, it makes an alcoholic beverage with the name Dreamscicle. That's what I'm wearing!

This subtle scent conjures the feeling of a leisurely walk along Palm Beach's Worth Avenue on a sweltering summer day—during which one is quoted a lofty price for an original Joan Miró in an upscale gallery. It’s an undeniably pleasant smooth citrus fragrance, though it sits very close to Xerjoff's Nio, which predates it by a couple of years. Performance is underwhelming (fairly typical of Creed), so rather than this or Nio, I’d be inclined to opt for Boschetti della Costa from Alexandria Fragrances, which seems to offer better value for money.

I think it is green foral fruity citrus scent. It is the best mixture that I have never seen. Rose is rather prominent but I smell of the fruity at the same time. Citrus and Spicy scent are nice on the top, although living in short time, they make me impressive. Some cedar and vetiver support the fragrance to be rich and make me feel royal and luxurious as upper class. Longevity is o.k., it's about 8 - 10 hours and moderate sillage on me. Best for spring and summer
