Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie

This is my kind of scent, florals are just my thing and I think I've come to set apart a good floral from a bad one and let's hope this is a good one. It opened with blast of jasmine and sandalwood combo, those two notes are the most noticable on my sking, but the soapy rose lingers now and then. I'm not the biggest fan of sandalwood, I'll be honest here, so the opening is a bit hard on me, the jasmine soon gets overpowered by sandalwood and I'm left with deep, rich, smoky scent and no flowers. The vanilla plays it's part when it reaches the heart part, but god damn it, there is still no flowers. Like JeanMaurice already stated - the real magic happens after the first 15 minutes or so, I suddenly seem to not care that there are no flowers, altough I finally get some jasmine out of this. The sandalwood on me calms a bit down and vanilla start to play around with the almost unnoticable bits of jasmine, the smell is sensual, very sexy and very alluring (although I must say I don't dig all the powderness from sandalwood, but that's just me). The drydown is to die for if we forget about the lack of jasmine and flowers in general - extremely mouthwatering, warm vanilla/amber combo which for me is very comforting. What else? One should spray this carefully, the sillage is more than excellent and it's easy to overapply. It lasted more than 8 hours and the drydown was magnificent and the sillage stayed strong all trough the 8 hour period. Uniqueness: 8/10 Longevity: 10/10 Scent: 8/10 Total: 8.6

The Empress Eugenie must have been delighted with this. In an era when sanitation and personal hygiene left a lot to be desired, a strong and heady perfume that took you by the nose and sent you off on its own little fragrant performance would have been very much appreciated. And it IS a performance. On me it starts out as a big, warm, spicy, woody - very sandalwoody - floral; half an hour later when the rose and jasmine are really kicking in, I find myself in awe at the heady beauty of the journey I'm being taken on. It is sumptuous, it is regal, it is drop dead divine; an opulent warm, woody floral with excellent sillage and amazing staying power. Somewhere around ten to twelve hours later, I notice the bergamot - which is supposed to be a top note - has most unexpectedly got up and taken center stage. The jasmine and rose and woods are still there, but have faded enough to let the sweet citrus freshness come through. It's just such a surprise, and I'm staggered to think this is a fragrance that was devised 200 years ago. I guess I had thought the technique of making a fragrance unfold and bloom over time was a much more recent development. Anyway - I love it. The longevity is amazing, the whole fragrance is amazing. I'll never be without it again.

OMG!! This is a magical, classy, sexy, mysterious Perfume! I love sandlewood and Jasmine. This is the most perfectly blended Jasmine and Sandalwood fragrance I've ever smelled. The opening is warm, narcotic, woody and intoxicating! I smell creamy sandalwood and salt, lots of it! This beautiful smooth clean Jasmine delicately joins in. It reminds me of something I've smelled in the 80's , I just can't put my finger on it. It's so intoxicating and intense! I'm drowning happily in a warm bath of fragrance. Later I can smell the vanilla and a touch of rose. Creamy, salty, warm, sandlewood, vanilla and Jasmine. This has real ambergis in it, at least it smells real. I've smelt real ambergis and this smells like the real deal! I'm mezmerized and so happy to have a big bottle as part of my wardrobe. This is best worn in the fall/winter or chilly , breezy spring/ summer nights. Sillage is huge filling a room then settling at an arms length and it leaves an amazing scent trail. Longevity is 12 to 14 hours and longer on clothes and hair. The next morning I can smell a soft sweet and salty wood on my skin , smells almost like clean baby skin. It's stunning and Complex.

Love love LOVE this perfume! It starts out strong, with an oriental musk to it. Then after about an hour it morphs into a more floral scent, with the ambergris giving it that staying power. After another hour or so, it settles into that more sweet vanilla/sandalwood combo (two of my favorite scents). After 8 hours I can still smell it on my skin, and of course the scent gets stronger when you sweat! At the end of a work day, I can still smell a slight combo of all the scents, but it is no longer as heady as in the beginning. As others have said, this is not a fragrance that will win you over just by smelling it from a bottle. You have to try it on yourself to see how it wears on you. For example, the sales person at one of my city's Creed counters had been wearing it all day, and on her it smelled like a sugary sweet vanilla, almost gourmand. On me it's more like a vanilla sandalwood musk. In any case, this fragrance completely embodies my personality in that I can come on strong but am really sweet once you get to know me! :-)

WOW-after recently trying many decants and samples to find a "new" fragrance and expand my very limited fragrance wardrobe, I reluctantly spritzed on Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie and I am sold!!!! I think I may have found the number #1 contender to Musc Ravageur. To me, the way JIE wears is very similar to Musc Ravageur but ooooh, so very different and incredibly wonderful! I have waited long enough to review fragrances on Fragrantica, a website I love. Why? First few tries, well I wasn't too sure at all. The initial jasmine, rose and powdery notes confused my sensibilities. But then it started; the incredible mid-notes and wonderful dry-down emerged...amber, wood, sandalwood, some vanilla (not gourmand)...staying power with just enough "closeness to my skin" (so soothing to me), moderate silage to soothe others-smile...the gentle wafts (just the right amount) of the beautifully combined scents for hours after...HEAVENLY!!! Just love it! But again...a fragrance that is NOT for everyone. Definitely not a unisex or male fragrance.

JIE is something of an enigma. Everytime I wear it a new facet reveals itself. I agree at first spray theres a leather nuance if your looking for it...and a unique natural sweetness brought about from the plush ambergris and vanilla. Id also concur this is a more femme idea of Musc Ravegeur, where the sum of its parts make up a smooth intriguing whole. Its warm and rich in nature and in my wearing the jasmine and rose is much more subdued than the basenotes so dont go into this thinking its a huge jasmine bomb. It isnt. The beauty like others have said is from the base. Its beautifully blended and refined and really nothing compares to JIE in the marketplace. I wonder what the vintage smelled like but if you like vintage Belle Epoque styled scents give this voluptuous beauty a try. This is a very Ambergris dominated fragrance in my wearing. I end up thinking about this one a lot.. enigmatic but not for everyone. Note: the amount and and application can yield different notes shining. 250ml 2016 bottle reviewed.

Exquisite. It is hard to describe JASMIN IMPERATRICE EUGENIE and do it any sort of justice. Just smelling this on my skin, it is evident that the finest materials were used in this composition. And, as I wore this perfume today, I caught unexpected whiffs of this magical elixir on myself as I moved. Each time, my thoughts were paralyzed on the beauty I was experiencing. For me, the top notes are like an enormous armful of fragrant jasmine and ripe, red roses sprayed with warm water from the ocean and sparkling with light citrusy nuances. This glorious scent last for hours and slowly blends with, and eventually transforms and succumbs to, a warm, powdery vanilla and sandalwood aroma that lingers softly on my skin for the remainder of its existence. At some point in the metamorphosis of this frag, the rose and jasmine become one in the dry down and create some type of hybrid, mythical flower that compliments the vanilla and sandalwood. JASMINE IMPERATRICE EUGENIE. . . like angels singing.

Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie, like the finest silk pantihose worn by a beautiful dignitary. This iteration of jasmine is luscious, addictive, elegant, luminous, deep, sultry, and full of inviting contrasts. An animalic opening of ambergris (mothballs as others have noted) combined with the sharpness of bergamot intially had me shying away, but these ingredients start to settle and bring allure and light respectively. Jasmine flower blooms with such graceful beauty and is delicately warmed with sandalwood and airy vanilla as the perfume dries down. This Creed is more approachable than Jasmal from the same house, which was jarring to my nose all the way through. Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie is completely captivating. She's full bottle worthy for those who don't mind a dirty opening with a clean, refined finish. For now though, I will continue to sparingly use my discontinued bottle of Nuda for a fleshier jasmine fix.

This one accompanied on my doggie walkies today during a seriously damp and cold fall day. While my body felt the chill, my senses felt warmed by this wonderful woody, vanilla, rosy, jasmine scent. Contrary to another reviewer, I felt this was a total knockout smelling it from the bottle and I was very eagerly anticipating my first wear. However, upon application, I felt I lost some of the character and complexity of the scent. The lime notes did not survive or live on me whatsoever and I really felt a sense of lunchbag letdown. I then suited up for my walk and during the course of my damp canine adventures my body melded with the fragrance to fantastic results. I was ever so gently wooed by the subtle and evolving rose notes and lulled by the powdery softness and earthy wooden bases. This perfume is hanging with me and enveloping me like a comfy thick blanket. I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience.

The first time I tried Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie I was so busy that I didn't even have time to think about the perfume I was wearing. At the end of the day I ended up dismissing it thinking that it didn't really make an impression on me, but I'm here again to give it a second try. This morning, I sprayed this on and initially smelled a dirty jasmine, musk and ambergris along with a hint of rose and bergamot, but after the drydown I was left with a smooth blend of jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla. This has got good longevity and I realized after wearing this for a few hours just how creamy and delicious this fragrance had become on my skin. Okay, I'm sold...I like this one, and even though I'm not a Creed fan this is one I would add to my collection.

I love vintage scent. I love the old version of Bal a Versailles and that’s because I love Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie. It’s slightly animalic (well scented animal pee), I don’t know if it’s the jasmine, the ambergris, the civet (non listed by Creed) or something else. But I love it. It’s so warm and not acid. It’s a bit spicy but sweet. The overall sensation it’s ambery and woody, sandalwoody. So it’s elegant and without gender. It’s classic because it passes the test of time. It doesn’t smell old. I don’t get so much flower but after all jasmine is not fresh like rose or transparent like freesia. Jasmine is opulent, dirty and very consistent. I feel in my comfort zone when I wear it and at the same time I feel mysterious and sexy.

Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie is a surprising creamy floriental with lush jasmine, vanilla and warm amber dominant on my skin. Do not let the vanilla fool you, the sweetness is very calm and subdued by the presence of the sandalwood and bergamot yet it holds on to its luscious and balmy nature. It does start with a big bang but it settles down swiftly into the hypnotic beauty that it is. The notes are superbly blended with no sharp edges, just smooth and refined at every turn. The dry down is a bewitching velvety powder scent, soft but enduring for a long time. The fragrance's opulent aura surrounds the wearer with supreme elegance ... and it just went up to my current top 5 fragrance.

On the skin, this is a powdery, yummy jasmine and sandalwood scent. I love it. It comes in waves, sometimes I don't notice it and then I turn around and it's there, smelling awesome. One thing I will say about it, is it smells awful in the bottle, and for about 5 minutes after you put it on. But after those 5 minutes are up, its so beautiful, and timeless. I feel a bit more grownup when I wear it. Which always helps!

Glorious. I enjoy it from start to end, and the end is not yet in sight after 6 hours.. The opening is heavy: lots of jasmin together with sandalwood. In the middle sweet vanilla comes through. The rose and bergamot make it superb in the drydown. Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie, I am very happy to say, is mature and distinctive: an empress worthy. Edit nov. 04: Longevity more than 24 hours!

I am totally enamored with this fragrance, it has cast a spell on me! The notes aren't particularly unique, and yet somehow they create something magical. This perfume smells like sweet jasmine incense mixed with some vanilla. Such a superb, beguiling, and unique fragrance. It was made for a queen, and luckily I'm a Leo, so it will work purrrrfectly for the queen of the jungle!

I was shocked by this one; I have a deluxe sample but have put off trying it, expecting to be disappointed due to the two reviews (both bad) that it has had so far. I finally broke down and tried it last night and all I can say is WOW! I LOVE it! Spicy, warm, rich jasmine. I got nothing of a citrus note here, just sexy and refined Jasmine. YUM! For me, I would say it is FBW!

Oh this is delicious! It's a powerhouse so not for the timid. Very heady, resinous, woody jasmine with a buttery vanilla. It does have a note I could recognize as mothball like, but it only adds to what I like about the perfume. It's easy to over use this. One spray only please!

Were Shalimar Eau de Parfum designed for an empress, including the Guerlinade... Wait! Quel blasphème! Do I imply that Monsieur Guerlain copied Creed?? This fragrance surprise leaves one discovering new depths and facets throughout the day and evening...

Unbelievable. I think this is so elegant. A classic and very fit for any occasion. The notes are perfectly balanced. Longevity = VERY GOOD :) Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie is in my top five.

Stuffy, dusty book florals that I cannot get enough of. This fragrance reminds me of images of ladies in beautiful dresses in the Napoleonic courts. Lasts all day. A favourite.
