Love in White

Ambergris and rice is the biggest factor in this perfume , ambergris should be voted way higher. Makes me believe most people don't know what it smells like. I happen to love it. It's a musky salty note that can smell synthetic and or a sweet earthy aroma , like a damp forest ? Basically it's waht love in white smells like , to me it's the main note in this perfume , the centre ! Love in white has a pure white , classic elegant nurturing smell , it starts clean and floral ,milky , somewhat polerizing ,sterile cold and minimalistic. Unique and very interesting. It's feminine for sure. Starts of a little odd to my nose the orange peel combines with the RICE note is so Contradictory to me it's like putting bitter orange peel into my warm glass of milk ! Also the magnolia is quite loud and screechy with a lemony waxy but lush character. It's so different to any other perfume on the market and it's a odd combination of cold and warm. Ying and Yang , Bitter and sweet. It feels almost sterile , loud ,SYNTHETIC , CLEAN and metallic ! Apparently lots of love for this perfume , I came across a great you tube review on it by Jasper Buckingham. I think it was his review that made me order it finally , today. I asked my husband what he thinks of it and he said it's very fresh and beautiful. Very different though he said , but good different. He said he can't place the smell and had never smelled anything like that before. It's certainly interesting , I must say. I agree with genny17 it's not a oriental floral , and other sites call it woody aromatic, woody musky floral and all sorts of other more suitable categories for this clean ETERNAL scent. Also I want to say it smells very diffferent on paper. Or when you spot sniff it rather than in the air and letting the aroma come to you instead. It's elegant ,clean and I find INNOCENT in a way , Update , Some call it MOTHERLY Makes sense beacuase of the MILKY nature of this scent. A little like breastmilk , sweet, sour , comforting. Hmmmm never thought of this. I think slowly I am understanding this perfume better. Another update , Reminds me also of body cream, little bit of Nivea after it has been on the skin for a while. It's a true WHITE scent. The scent of milk , lotion,STERILE cold slightly METALIC , sharp yet MINIMALISTIC in nature. Very interesting , very unique. I feel PURE wearing it. Lasts forever into the next days. My washroom still smells of it from when I sprayed it 2 days ago and so does my scarf. It smells fresh and clean. - Becoming one of my favourites ! It's actually quite clean fresh and natural , like most creeds , Big fan ! Feb, 2018 , I have been wearing this lately and likening it even more than when I wrote this review , I love the sweet combination with the breath of fresh air ,,,and yes cilantro note. A soapy green cilantro note indeed. Absolutely wonderful creation ,,,,, completely unique !

This fragrance smells exactly like the first floor of a high end department store. That wonderful smell of a whole bunch of stuff you wish you could have but can't afford condensed into one building. It just reeks of wealth, luxury and class. It is a very ladies-who-lunch type of situation. But not just any ladies. The wives of millionaires whose only jobs in life are to shop, look cute and make their staff/servants uncomfortable. This stuff is very sharp, very citrusy and screams "I AM OF THE ONE PERCENT!" If you make under 300,000 dollars a year, please don't purchase this (unless, that is, you want to smell like you make over 300,000 a year)... I can't see this scent sitting well with everyone, nor would I call it "safe". White florals in general are quite lovely and uplifting, but Love In White is white to point of being a bit screechy and antiseptic. Seriously: there's a fine line between "uplifting" and "sterile hospital unit". And when a fragrance ventures too far into medicinal mode it can come across as detached. That's the weird thing about Love In White. It's loud, aggressive, but also detached! Getting back to the "millionaire" feel of it-- it's the olfactory equivalent of a well-dressed meticulously groomed woman who lacks empathy and warmth. Like all creed picks it's expensive; I strongly advise snagging a sample before you commit to a full bottle of this stuff. Things to note about this fragrance: -It's not subtle. Heads will turn. Major, major silage. -It is aggressively feminine; but a specific type of feminine. Think Madison Avenue shameless decadence. -It is not at all "sexy" in my opinion, nor is it trying to be. It is all business, all class. This is something you'd spritz on before boarding your private jet. Think "Alexsis Colby" in predator mode. -This is very much a "clean" fragrance, but exaggeratedly so. Again, very sharp citrus; nothing soft and light here. Spray it on if you need motivation to clean your messy apartment.

Time for a new review. My old one from 2019 is below. I don’t like to delete old reviews because taste evolves over the years, and I am now re-visiting a lot of my stash. This was a blind buy about 6 years ago. Year after year, I try this fragrance and kick myself for wasting my money on it. I always try it in warm weather because the notes seem springy. In fact I gave it another shot just a couple of months ago when it was warm outside, and once again I dumped it into a box in my basement. It always smells like green, sour flowers. In the winter I (oddly?) gravitate towards crisp, clean, greener perfumes—cold ones with lime and salty vetiver, or aquatics. Cold Chanels. I was in my basement looking for these types when Love in White again caught my eye. I spritzed it onto the back of my hand asking myself why I even bother anymore? It was the very first time I tried it on when I was really cold. This time it smelled like an icy, aquatic floral. It had a magical and mysterious quality that made me think of low, white fog, when snow is on the ground. Makes me think of Silent Night--all is calm. I could smell an iris/rice powder note that I swear I have tried for 6 years to detect and never could. Magnolia is still the strongest note, lending its soft floral sweetness. The perfume is also a lot muskier than I ever realized. I still do not detect any orange. I don’t see it as an Oriental Floral as they mention above. It’s a fresh, green but soft, floral. I finally understand that for this perfume to work for me, I need to wear it in COLD WEATHER. I’m so glad Love in White now has a place in my heart! I will be wearing it any time it snows.

I'm a fan of many Creed creations but Love in White is one of a kind. I haven't smelled anything like this before. It's so far away from all mainstream designer fragrances and has definitely that particular "creed note" as I would call it. It's such a versatile scent! It truly work in any occasion, day & night, summer, winter, spring and fall. It's strange but it seems to adapt to its environment like a chameleon. In summer I get more of the orange and marine side of it, like a day on a boat, sailing. In Spring it feels fresh and floral, with yellow flowers, especially creamy narcissus and gets more cosy and warm in autum, flowers mixing with vanilla, making it also an excellent choice for winter days, where its warm woodsy notes are hugging and comforting, but still light enough to brighten a dark day. This perfume is a master piece of amazing quality. It's very long lasting, projects well, is never cloying and smells very natural to my nose. I get loads of complements and people who know me recognise it immediately as my signature smell. It's unique and worth the money in my opinion. I have many other great fragrances, but since i own love in white i rarely use anything else. Im on my second full size bottle. I love it!

I've never really thought of white florals as scents I like to write home about, but Love In White is an exception. Bright orange peel is noticed immediately on first spray. There's something in the opening that smells almost like a smokiness, like it's about to become smoky, but doesn't actually go there. I think this is the narcissus flower. It settles on a beautifully light and natural pink rose with narcissus and a whisper of jasmine, the orange peel still there keeping it light. There's an overall coziness and softness about this scent that is just so luxurious and divine. The dry down is a warm and comforting white floral with a touch of woodiness underneath. Longevity is about half a day as a skin scent with a very mild scent aura. Spraying onto clothing would make for better longevity and projection. This could very much be a signature scent for those who have the budget for it. It's an enchanting and light white floral that could be worn just about anywhere, but it would especially shine in the Spring. It would make for a stunning Spring wedding scent! Definitely test before buying a bottle due to the high end pricing and also the orange peel note, which may not be for everyone.

Ok when I first bought this bottle, I was new to Niche and didn’t like this perfume. I didn’t appreciate it. I put it away and never used it again. I tried getting rid of it a few times but this perfume is too expensive to just give away. So I just took it out today, about 3 years later. And wow, it’s not at all like I remembered it. It’s beautiful and unique, I have no other perfumes like this one. It also seems a lot stronger than 3 years ago. I actually really like it now. And it lasted on me all day. And to think, i almost gave this one away. I also have Love In Black that I purchased in 2007, I think. It was definitely right after it was released. I never really liked it, I bought it only coz of the hype around it. I put it away too, all these years. I need to dig it out and put my nose on it and see if i want to keep it and if I even like it. I remember it being very weird smelling. But back then I bought quite a few over hyped frags that I just bought and store it and never use it. I was a Dior Addict and Chanel girl. Now I’m a woman who is much more educated on Niche and designer fragrances. And my Niche collection is embarrassingly huge. But not my designers.

I finally got the chance to smell Creed Love in White at Nordstrom today. I think it's absolutely beautiful -- just clean laundry musk with a greenness that reminded me a teeny bit of cucumber, but other reviewers think smells like cilantro, a very polarizing herb! -- plus a strong and distinctive rice flower scent. I'm familiar with rice flower because there's a ton of it in one of my favorite "clean" scents, Alfred Sung Shi. Love in White reminds me quite a bit of that fantastic cheapie, though they are by NO means identical (Shi also has lots of lotus and birch). In looking at the "Reminds Me of..." section, to me, at least, Love in White smells NOTHING like Shiro, which I finally tracked down and blind-bought based on the description; Shiro has a very yucky, bitter note that Love in White most definitely does NOT have. To me, Love in White smells like how a cool drink or eye compress at a high-end spa might smell -- and I know I keep repeating this but it's just lovely, refreshing, herbal, clean. I do still need to try this on my skin to see how it wears, but assuming that's good, too, if I ever come across an affordable partial bottle of the stuff, I'll get it.

Michelle Obama is a woman of class and taste, so when I was choosing the samples for my discovery set from Creed I immediately threw this one in. I don't gravitate towards florals - or anything clean for that matter. My dislike for anything clean comes from a childhood inundated with relatives only dousing themselves in anything "clean" (which I refer to as the era of CK One). Upon initial spray, Love In White does have an astringent note, but that fades rather quickly. I was afraid it wouldn't have any presence (hello Sublime Vanille), but it had decent sillage and its projection was impressive. It isn't so strong that it'll knock people over, but it makes its presence known. Plus, the more it dried down, the milkier it got. There was a bit of powder accompanying the milky note, but it wasn't enough to bother me. It felt cool, refreshing, and light. I did buy myself a backup decant should I want to test drive this a little bit more, as I think this might end up being part of my permanent collection at some point in the future. A helpful sidenote: I think this would be easy to be a bit heavy-handed with, so I would advise caution and not go overboard with this one.

Another creed that is love at first sniff for me. I have and adore love in black a now love in white! This fragrace is so hard to explain in words. So unique, strange and beautiful. Creed gets alot of hate but i do not care what others think, because i think they are high quality very long lasting and interesting perfumes. Creed love in white opens with a clean sterile scent (i love Germany's review, she explains it so well). I smell alot of orange zest, freshly grated orange zest. This lasts about 20 minutes before a milky creamy note comes in. I also smell ambergris. As time goes on it smells clean still but the milky note gets more intense. With this, i keep smelling a very familiar green note and suddenly realized... its cilantro! Fresh cilantro! I use fresh cilantro all the time in cooking and this smell gets on my hands, i know that its cilantro. It sounds weird but it actually is amazing in love in white, it adds complexity and green freshness to the milky facets. I've never smelled anything like it. Very long lasting! And sillage is moderate! I love it and this will be my next purchase!

Love in White... My first serious relationship after dating around for two years. With most perfumes, even - or especially - if they are really great, I find that I purchase them, admire them, and put them away, for when I'm in the right mood for them. With this one, I quickly realized it's the one I want to wear every day, for every occasion, and don't feel like I really need anything else. It's that good, that comfortable, and that special. Just makes me feel good. There's a lot of different scents that I'm detecting here. The opening is bitter and spicy with the orange peel coming through. Then I'm detecting different notes - sometimes magnolia, sometimes iris, sometimes ambergris, sometimes cucumber. But to me it's not a floral scent, but rather almost like a fantasy scent. Like a milk-iris tea with aloe if that was ever a thing. It's not really similar to anything else that I've smelt before, although the oil version of it smells a lot like Aventus For Her in the drydown. To me it's in the smells-like-body-lotion genre. So I would say it is probably not for big events. <3

I’m confused by the reviews that call this skin scent. I sprayed this 4 hours ago (only 2 sprays) and it is just as strong right now as when I sprayed it. It is beautiful. To me it is a slightly spiced creamy giant white flower. I can totally see this as a signature scent of a sophisticated, kind, regal, intelligent, famous woman. This is exactly Michelle Obama, but could also be someone like Kate Middleton...although I’d say it’s a little bit grand for her right now. This is a Queen scent not a Princess scent. You have to have the right personality and daresay stature (not necessarily physical height) to pull this off and to have it feel like it is yours. So then I can really see how this would feel ill-fitting and off-putting for so many. That is okay, definitely move on. I would love to have a scent like this be my signature...were I to be the kind of woman who could stay faithful to just one perfume! But yeah. This perfume is definitely regal. And you know...you gotta be born that way! ;-)

Just purchased a full bottle. Frankly, I am surprised by the negative reviews, but scent is highly personal. I get no bug spray or cheap soap. It is very floral of course and initially I almost passed as my current go-to scents are warm and spicy. And my initial whif of this on a fragrance card was unremarkable (and similarly fragrance card rubbed on skin). However, after a spray on skin, I fell in love. Floral and fresh, but not overpowering (white flowers tend to be overwhelming on me). I’ve heard it described as being reminiscent of the steam you smell when cooking rice and I think that very accurately captures the feel—that smell in a spring garden, while drinking freshly squeezed orange juice in a crisp white button up or cashmere sweater. This is somewhat reminiscent of, surprisingly, Victoria’s Secret Heavenly from the 90s but much richer and more complex and expertly blended. A lovely and a refreshing change from my numerous moody scents!

I must confess something : I saw a list of perfumes they use celebrities Holliwood and other great figures of music and the world. And I thought what these famous women feel when using LIW ? Why is your favorite perfume? Well, just out of curiosity, i bought it. My first thought when I smelled it , was OMG is wonderful! then I was watching its evolution from a soft floral sweetness to a creamy blend of sophisticated scents. I felt powerful , yes, that's the word , as a woman of great influence in business, elegant, distinguished as the " boss" . Not exactly the aroma would choose for a night of romance , but absolutely my first choice when I want to feel bright and triumphant , especially in those days of great challenges. They say it is not important who you are, if you want to be, what you project , and it is this perfume everyday makes me feel successful and positive. Thanks CREED !

An absolutely stunning and classy perfume. What a masterpiece in creating such a gorgeous feminine scent, which isn't too sweet, not too strong, but intoxicating nonetheless. I get an almost synthetic vanilla sandalwood with the iris. A combo I adore. This is the upscale and subdued older sister of Juliette Has a Gun's Mmmm... (Another scent I adore). A perfect daytime office scent for a professional setting. The price is high, but you can almost smell the luxury and high quality ingredients in this perfume. I swear my nose has gotten spoilt smelling this fragrance and has become a bit of a brat demanding to smell it more! I'm almost done my sample and will need to purchase a full bottle soon!

Digging through my parents' fragrance cabinet has led me to find a beautiful bottle of goodness, tainted with age. It's no doubt my parents' had good taste that would otherwise had been forgotten if I'd never started this tiny activity of going through their older belongings. My mom's passed it down to be, saying (as most older woman do) that "it's too young for her". I don't agree. I wish I'd have met her in her younger days, a beautiful and elegant woman she must've been. A refreshing opener followed by a calming unisex dry down, it's not too harsh on my skin and has made me change my mind about having Orange notes in my perfumes. This is probably my favorite fragrance.

I had never tried any Creed scents before, but I heard this was Michelle Obama's signature scent and had to try it. It's amazing! Soft florals and vibrant greeness perfectly balanced into an gorgeous fragrance. It's ethereal yet substantial. Like a flighty woodland nymph who shows unexpected aplomb. Amazing for spring and summer, but have you tried it in winter?! It conjures images of winter fae and frost encrusted gardens in bloom. Pure magic. I think this fragrance would be really boring without the rice note, but something about that twist brings it into the realm of mystic elusiveness and gives it its captivating quality. Love, love, love Love in White!

Ladies, if you're looking for a light, yet seductive, scent, look no further than Love in White! In the opening, I get this burst of orange peel; then, after a few seconds, the Iris note takes the front seat and becomes the main player! What I also like about this fragrance is that it's got beast-mode sillage and projection! No word of a lie, it permeates the entire room, which can come across as a bit of a delightful surprise because it's supposed to be a light and airy scent! All in all, if you're looking for something versatile that's iconic and chic, look no further than Love in White. What's more, it's a massive compliment-getter, especially from men!

I adore this perfume, it's so fresh and flowery and luxurious to my nose, not overpowering or really out there, just there and nice. Perfect for everyday wear like for an office setting or similar. The downsides! It's not very dramatic or seemingly very unique, it is just very nice and good at what it's trying to be which might put some people off, if you want to be obviously noticed this isn't it. It's also ridiculously expensive. A 30ml bottle of this costs as much if not more than most 75-100ml bottles of almost anything else. TLDR: Gorgeously flowery and luxurious, but a crazy price and possibly a bit boring for some people. Rating 4.1/5

This is so borderline 😁 I mean looks and sounds like an innocent take on white florals, ‘another boring floral’, but this is... Stunning, in your face, bold and craz-rich smell on a fancy cruise. It stuck to me since i tried it in an airport, and i knew it has something. Everyone’s opinion was that it was itchy and nauseating. When i finally got it, sprayed in my car, on the passenger seat. I just fell in love with the smell, the super feminine and elegant puffiness that surrounded me. It does have an 80’s nostalgia vibe to too, it must be the geranium, but all in all it is exceptional.

I am convinced that I have an odd nose or something. I love this! Everyone on Fragrantica seems to love the Poison line. I think HP is just ok and I hate the others because they make me nauseous. I tend to love the polarizing fragrances like Alien and La Vie Est Belle too, so keep that in mind when you read my review. This reminds me a bit of Banana Republic W, but prettier and way nicer. I thinks it’s beautiful. I will most likely buy a full bottle. I admit that this is on the higher end of what I’m willing to pay for a fragrance though.

My brother got this for me as a part of an eau de toilette set for Chinese new year and initially I wasn’t a fan. I felt like it was very flat and powdery for what I had hoped would be a more lush white floral from the name. However, it was persistent and subtle and gradually grew on me. This is the perfume I reach for when I want to smell not of anything but vaguely expensive. It lasts and lasts on my skin and my clothes and remains pleasing to the end. An odd duck that became an endearing low-key favorite.

Love in White is a classy lady in a crisp dress on a summer afternoon. The main notes that I get are magnolia and citrus. The citrus is not overwhelming. It manages to give the magnolia a slight nudge to the forefront of the other notes. Love in White will carry you from jeans and a crisp button down shirt to a summer garden tea party. There is nothing juvenile about this fragrance and it also steers clear of being matronly. I cannot find anything bad to say about this lovely fragrance.

Underwhelming. My least favorite Creed. A sharp floral with something tangy and bothersome. This was not creamy, and I detected no rice. No sweetness, no softness, nothing powdery. Smells rather like all the florals are synthetic. Sillage was quite heavy at first, but the fragrance was totally undetectable within about 2 hours. I’m not sure what’s happening at that house. I will stick to their classics—Vanisia and Jasmine Imperatrice. Hard to believe any first lady would choose this!

I really dislike florals, BUT THIS, This is what you call a Royal, Luxury, perfectly blended floral fragrance. I read somewhere that every time Michelle Obama would interview on TV, people would compliment and ask what she was wearing. Now guess what that was..... There is a reason why Creed has been in business since 1760, do yourself a huge favor, and sample this scent. Its perfect for spring and summer for a sophisticated lady. IG @VirginNose

My fiance, now my husband of 15 yrs, bought this for me to wear at our wedding. We did shop it together so it wasn't a surprise. It might be sentimental but it's the most gorgeous fragrance I own (out of >100) and I receive more compliments on this scent then all others. It's clean, light citrus, floral and uniquely delicate at the same time yet lasts very long for the notes. Please don't buy! I want to keep it for myself! 😉

This is one of my favorite fragrances and I conclude it agrees with my skin chemistry. I am mystified by the reviewers who passionately hate it. It is one of my most complimented fragrances, and I own a good number. Having said all of that, what I like about it is the unique freshness. The rice note is hardly detectable but I get the magnolia and creamy floral notes. It isn't extremely long lasting on me, perhaps 4-6 hours.

Love this, I get iris, vanilla and jasmine. The orange peel in the opening isn't obvious. A very clean smell. Everything in the list of notes that's not a flower is in there to compliment the flower notes. Not sure about some of the unisex remarks, smells feminine to me. I don't agree with remarks about it being pungent. It's Creed, you buy something that only requires one or two carefully applied sprays.

Gorgeous, modern white floral with an undercurrent of naughty courtesy of ambergris. Narcissus also adds to the sensual dimension of this lush white floral. Creed father and son really nailed it with this fragrance. A timeless classic that will garner loads.of compliments from the men in your life. Beautiful, simple,.modern, sensual masterpiece that smells like old money luxury.

This is a beautiful light floral citrus scent. You definitely get the orange peel in the opening, but once it dries it dries down to a sweet slightly powdery floral. This is a perfect summer scent. This is definitely a like for me but not a love and for the price, I expect a love. So I’ll pass on this one as there are plenty similar vibe perfumes out there for a better price.

It is straight down luxurious and old money type of fragrance. It mesmerizes everyone around you. It doesn’t resemble any mainstream or mass products either, so you will be unique and smelling gorgeously. It is simply worth the price tag, especially if you can grab one from the resellers at a good discount. Shy iris, bold white flowers, great longevity. Its name says it all.

This is one of the most stunning floral scents I ever encountered. I have two bottles of an amazing batch and I must admit, it's the most beautiful white flowers I've ever smelled. Jasmine and Magnolia are sublimely blending into comforting Rice notes. The opening is mesmerizing with sparkling Orange Peel vibes. Absolutely pure and enchanting. The perfect Bridal Scent!

I don't think I could ever pay the hefty price tags for a FB of this amazing stuff, but man... am I tempted. For now, I will settle for small samples for 20$ a pop. This is simple, but elegant and soapy white floral happiness! I love it! I will save it for weddings and other fancy, fancy occasions. I wish I had tried this one before I got married! Floral bliss!

Money. This smells like a woman who comes from money. Old money. European money. Her makeup is quality but never too much. Clothing-nothing too loud, tight, or revealing. Probably a debutante in her youth. So soft. Just barely a scent. I love that it’s like a baby floral unlike so many that are just so damn loud. Way overpriced but the effect remains. Class.

Ordered few samples of Creed perfumes just to see and test something new, and Love in white was one that stood out for me for sure. Very elegant, sexy, light (but not fresh), feels like you cannot get enough of this smell. Now I’m an owner of Love in white full bottle (which is quite elegant too). It is love or hate, and it’s definitely Love from me!

I absolutely love this perfume, it's so unique and I haven't smelt anything like it before so worth the niche price, it's an investment for a wedding day or occasional wear unless of course your rich enough to wear it as a signature, I love the elegance of the bottle and the way it makes me feel, if I smell this on someone they smell clean & rich.

I love this scent. This is the one floral fragrance that I can honestly say is beautiful to my nose. Unfortunately longevity, sillage and projection is so poor, that after 8 sprays it became a skin scent within 5 minutes. No one could detect it. That’s way too much money for a skin scent. If those things don’t matter it is a beautiful fragrance.

I really love this scent. It smells classy, clean and unsuspecting. If you like an oriental scent without the overpowering wood and spice, you will enjoy Love in White. The orange peel stood out the most at first, but as it dried all of the notes blended perfectly and harmoniously. My only complaint is I wish it was longer lasting.

This made me understand why some of fragrances can cost more than the other. Its so unique and fresh, its familiar yet different. Shes gentle and firm. I love it. It is giving me a vibe of your elegant housewife and a mother in all white suit. More powdery scent and floral on me. Last really long too specially on clothes.

I will forever be obsessed with this. Strong citrus, slightly musky opening before moving on to the white florals. Beautifully blended and smells like luxury. The scent of a beautiful bride on her wedding day in the middle of summer. Just wished it had bigger sillage, I want others to smell this on me.

A very full, soft scent, smells expensive. The orange peel lifts the other notes and it all comes together in a creamy sweetness that isn't overpowering. I have a tester but will consider buying full size, it's such a high quality daytime fragrance.

This a great date night fragrance! When you want to stand out but be subtle this is my go to. All I smell is white flowers and citrus. Others can smell you but you wont give them a headache.

To me it smells like a bouquet of white flowers freshly picked from the garden. I love the green note in it. It is a very pretty, day perfume, appropriate for spring, maybe summer as well.

Extremely floral, sweet, magnolia is dominant. Pleasant smell.

I keep trying this and my impression never changes. It smells like crushed chalk mixed with unscented body cream and hints of puréed vegetation. It smells a hair sweeter on paper/clothes than on skin. The chalkiness reminds me a little of Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir. I get very little sweetness. Feels sexless instead of unisex even though marketed towards women. I would think it’s a men’s scent if had to guess by smell alone. I do NOT understand the association with Dove. Dove smells pretty and clean. At first this has the same bitter green smell as Creed Royal Water and Eau de Lancaster on my skin. It starts off smelling like Royal Water drowned by tons of unscented body lotion and cream. There are hints of soapiness from a bar of soap, but mostly cream. Eventually the green notes softens to something similar to that in Amouage Reflections women and Estée Lauder Pleasure. It becomes even creamier. Ultimately, it smells like unscented body care product. It’s a very minimalistic and androgynous scent. Smell clean and futuristic. The only notes I can sense are iris, rice and magnolia. I wish it were a little sweeter and little less of that greeness. I would never think someone smelling like this was wearing a perfume. I love the creaminess. Just wished it had more character. I might layer it. This could be put in the same category as Chanel Paris Venise, J’adore Voile de Parfum, Philosophy Pure Grace and Sylvaine Delacourte Dovana. Update: I’ve been testing several Creed fragrances. What I’m perceiving as the green note may actually be the ambergris. That’s the only thing all these Creeds have in common. Update #2: It’s now summer. It’s hot and it’s humid. I think my nose may have changed or I’ve changed my body’s natural biome by changing my diet. I’m liking Love in White better now than Love in White for Summer. It’s just creamy clean and so effortless. That strange strong green note that was bothering me has finally settled down. It’s now perfect. I guess you could say it’s similar to smelling like Cerave moisturizing cream in the tub. The more I smell it, the more I think it could even pass as unisex. Even though it’s clean and fresh, it’s also a bit elegant. I like that it not too much in your face because that makes it a great everyday wear. The price is a bit steep, but why pay for something you aren’t going to enjoy on a regular basis.

Agree- it is polarizing and controversial. But not boring. Maybe because people have a different sense of smell and some do not find what others find in it. Maybe coz it`s Not a bubbly young floral citrus scent- but a floral scent with unexpected twists- which also seem to feel different for everyone. On the opening it`s floral but with some heavy greenery, like sappy lily stalks, then a bitter enough citrus comes out. Then here it goes- strange powder, strange rice, strange rose- it all is too unexpected and not necessarily logical or complementing if you know what I mean? Kinda reminds me of the Sunset flowers by Montale situation- not the smell but the twist- people hate it coz it starts off a summery happy scent and ends with a smoked note/chamomile, and this sudden dive into the unknown is often not appreciated :) So, try before you buy- do not look at the pyramid, it does not explain much of what is going on.

A pleasant scent but it doesn't blow me away. I get a big wallop of magnolia with softness provided by the rice and a kick from the narcissus at the start. Once the magnolia eases off a bit after 15 - 30 mins I enjoy it much more. Its the scent of spring. Its interesting how the rice adds a creaminess. I can just about pick out the Amber gris and some wood. I've got to admit I was hoping for much more orange and mock orange which are fave notes.I can pick them out but I would just liked to have more. A very classy, elegant floral. Nothing cheap, screechy, too sweet or cloying. I guess it's very expensive to retain some exclusivity. Its too pricey for me. I get moderate longevity and sillage.
