Rose Imperiale

The chocolate, caramel, and benzoin notes are likely a misprint that were gathered from a single department store's description of this fragrance (I believe Harrods). What a wonderful fragrance this would be if it were true! A gourmand Creed! Alas, no. Creed classifies this as a floral/fresh fragrance with the following notes: Top Notes Calabrian bergamot, Bulgarian rose, white iris from Florence angelica Middle Notes Patchouli from India, Pink Pepper from Reunion, cedar, Bergamot from Italy Base Notes Bulgarian and Turkish rose, tuberose, neroli from Tunisia, pepper bay To me this smells strikingly similar to L'ombre dans l'eau EDP, but a bit lighter and much less peppery. I can definitely detect black currant in this fragrance, or some accord that approximates it, although it isn't listed. This has good performance for a Creed. I would describe it as sweet, fruity, fresh, with a bit of pink pepper. It's like Creed's version of Miss Dior, with toned down citrus and a kick of dark berries. I bought this from France, where it costs about 300 USD. No way is it worth the prices Creed charges in the states.

After all these years trying to get a sample from a rep of Creed and being told that they had this product in another county 270 miles away and that I would have to purchase a bottle for appx $900. I gave up on this brand in the retail world. The year of 2020 just soured me on the way some retail companies really feel and treat their customers.
