This is a love note for Royal Oud, but let's get one thing out of the way: this is expensive. However, this is one of the few fragrances that truly justifies Creed's status as one of the greatest niche houses to exist. This is everything I have ever wanted in a fragrance; it has everything that I wanted from the moment I realized that I didn't like overly sweet designers, overly synthetic freshies, nor thick vanilla powder and spice bombs--I understand how much of a fragrance snob I sound like, but just hear me out. You can read the notes and watch all the reviews, but let me describe this in a similic way. Royal Oud smells like clean 100 dollar bills fresh and directly from the mint. It smells like rich and golden wood. People have widely agreed that this smells the closest to what they imagine literal heaven to smell like. I would agree with all of this. Two negatives are simple: price and performance. Price is obviously high (too high), which drops my rating by 0.25 points out of 10. I would also agree with most people in how they say this fragrance performs...the silage is moderate after a couple hours to say the least, but the longevity is quite decent to be fair (this drops it another 0.25 for objective lack of performance, so my overall is a 9.5/10). I can honestly say that I won't wear this to get compliments or attention from other people. I wouldn't want them to perceive me as a pretentious and elitist snob, which works out because I will be minimizing how much I spray every time. In the context of the underwhelming performance for how beautiful this fragrance is, I think it's important for me to say that I wear this for me. I wear this fragrance whenever I go to my favorite beach to watch the sunset because I want to connect this fragrance to those moments (there are other places and moments that I connect to this). An incredible fragrance like royal oud is worthy to be alongside these precious moments--despite it's egregious price, what this fragrance does for me is ironically priceless. I almost always will say F--- you to Creed for their prices and a lot of their longevity, but I have to thank them for this. Masterpiece.

People say that only the word "Royal" in the name is truly fitting. While the word "Oud" in this name can be questioned, one cannot deny the refined, princely, and regal allure it exudes! Certainly, Oud is not the star of the show here, but it is undoubtedly present behind the scenes. During a friendly exchange with the creator of the perfume, Julien Rasquinet, he confirmed that Royal Oud contains more natural Oud than the majority of perfumes with "Oud" in their name. He explained that this was intentional as part of the technical work to tame the Oud and make it less prominent. Rasquinet’s words perfectly align with Erwin Creed’s statement in an interview during the perfume’s launch in 2011 at Esxence (video available on YouTube). Erwin said that the basic idea behind this creation was to develop a more wearable and more tolerable Oud perfume for the Western audience, who often find the aggressive and dominant aspect of "Oud" difficult to tolerate. Based on these facts, we can ultimately say that "Royal Oud" is not a random or poorly chosen name, as the perfume genuinely contains Oud, and it was deliberate that it does not smell like the stereotypical Oud as we usually conceive. Evolution of scent: The perfume opens with a vibrant, spicy blend of citrus and pink pepper, immediately giving an impression of sophisticated freshness. Very quickly, woody notes take over—particularly cedar, accompanied by angelica—imparting a green, dry, and noble character. The fragrance then evolves into a warm, luxurious base with Oud, creamy sandalwood, and clean musk, subtly wrapped in a touch of incense, giving it a slightly mystical aura. Oud, often perceived as animalic or medicinal in most compositions, is here softened, polished, and almost discreet, serving more as the backbone than as the star. What it makes me think of: Royal Oud evokes luxurious interiors with polished dark wood and marble in European palaces with subtle Oriental influences. Reviewing bottle from 2011 - older bottle and packaging. Royal Oud was launched in 2011. Please note that my bottle is from the first production of Royal Oud EDP in 2011 which I have kept refrigerated in it's box. Also, it is labelled "Millesime". Creed would add this label to a batch produced with exceptionally high quality natural ingredients, something that varies from year to year. Royal Oud is a woody oriental inspired by the Persian Royal palace. It opens with soft bergamot and bright pink pepper followed by cedar and soft suede. There is beautiful sandalwood, animalic musk and delicate oud in the subtly spicy aromatic drydown. The oud has been smoothed out with no sharp/off putting aromas. It is beautifully blended - despite all the woody basenotes it sparkles. It is not sweet or powdery; only a hint of smoke. Unisex leaning masculine. (As a woman I have no problem wearing this although I save it for formal occasions rather than use it as an everyday scent) Performance is excellent as one would expect from a quality EDP. 5/5 Recent versions unfortunately don't come as close. 3/5 Quality is exceptional in original 5/5 One of the most sophisticated and elegant men's fragrances. Equally sophisticated and modern on a woman. This is true luxury in a bottle. This original Royal Oud is one of the fragrances that made Creed what it is today long before Aventus became popular. Unfortunately many of their recent releases don't do it justice.The current iteration of Royal Oud is a shadow of it's former self ( more citrus and frankincense, lower complexity and lackluster performance but still remains a very good fragrance). Although some may correctly argue that my bottle has simply improved with age, I seem to recall that it smelled incredible from the moment I first wore it. Quick disclaimer: I've had this since the day it was released in the US, and it appears high on my list of fragrance favorites for a reason. It's just that good. It isn't that it's a perfect Oud or that it's groundbreaking in any way. Rather, it's the execution of this fragrance and the quality that makes this such a delight. It is so well composed, luxurious and refined that it becomes a standout. It's elegant and merits consideration for simply being one extraordinary fragrance. Are there 'Ouds' that I prefer to this? Certainly, some of the Montales, Bond's rendition, and Byredo creations among them. I'm certain others have their own preference. None of those are 'pure Ouds' either, as each has its own rendition of notes to accompany the agarwood element. Are there other fragrances that I like for different reasons? Certainly - Clive Christian's C and X are among those (anyone complaining about cost should consider their cost and compare). For me, simply put, this is exquisite. A fragrance that is so well executed that it exudes the right sophistication. It's not a 'cheap' product, quality generally isn't, and they've made this to be truly Creed-worthy. I'd agree that it's a phenomenal addition to their line-up and truly a classic. I love it for what it is, rather than simply trying to compare it to other Ouds. My somewhat more than $0.02. :)

My God...Absolute masterpiece. This has officially dethroned my Absolu Aventus. A godly cedar powerhouse that screams luxury, masculinity, and old money royalty. The scented tester strip samples at the mall do not do this justice. You must do a full wearing on skin/clothes to fully appreciate this fragrance. I rarely complain about Creed performance issues (besides VIW, SMW, MI) but other than that I get good performance (7-8 hrs) from my aventus, green Irish tweed and original Santal. I get amazing performance from my Absolu Aventus (10-12hrs). The difference between all of those above and Royal Oud is that Royal Oud lasts 10+ hours and doesn’t become a skin scent after 6 hours. This is a Creed fragrance that finally meets “beast mode” criteria. Let’s be honest, it’s not Bergamask from Orto Parisi strong but for a Creed fragrance, this one is a superstar. 9.5/10 Seriously, it’s that good. I can see younger guys not appreciating this (26 and under) but me (32 year old male in a corporate setting) this is perfection. It’s office safe, but also pushes boundaries outside the office. I put this in the same tier as Aventus/Absolu Aventus/YSL Tuxedo - obviously different scent profiles but it gives off black tie affair/CEO boss vibes. My new favorite fragrance.

One of my absolute favorite fragrances of all time. It is classy, airy, and sparkling, creating a vibe of confidence, success, and wisdom, with the notes playing beautifully with Creed’s almost effervescent ambergris to create a memorable scent that may not remind of Oud, but is incredibly elegant and poised. However, this is also it’s downfall for me personally as I have owned and sold a couple bottles due to the fact that the fragrance- as beautiful and elegant as it is- is a difficult one for me to find a situation for it to be appropriate in my life. This is not a daily fragrance for most people outside of successful executives, lawyers, politicians perhaps. It has such an elegance and class to it, it is terribly unsuited to anything less than a tailored suit and a posh aristocratic atmosphere - the middle and lower class need not apply, and I myself am included in that judgement. This is the only, although critical, downfall of this fragrance, is for the regular person there are really just not many situations where this would be appropriate or well pulled off outside of a wedding or something similar. For example, if you try wearing to an interview, they can just assume you don’t need the job because you already smell like a million dollars.

The reviewer below describes this fragrance perfectly. I can attest to the newer version smelling more airy and citrus dominant in the opening. That said I don't have issues with the longevity that some speak off...I also have discovered the cool temperature coupled with some maceration has made my newer bottle blossom more as I'm sure the person below can attest. So, I have to also disagree just on the fact that it's worse. I believe Royal Oud is one of their most expensive bottles and I think for good reason. This doesn't give you the sense that they've used bad naturals or skimmed on the ingredients somehow. I get the sense that this is well crafted perfumery at it's absolute finest. I've noticed in fragcom we often become disillusioned by newer releases...that some how the newer version can't hold it's weight against the quality of the old. In some cases this assumption could be correct but I think with Royal Oud you can feel good purchasing the newer blends knowing that the quality and performance still remain. Hope this helps for those looking at this fragrance. This is hands down my favorite Fragrance of all time...I will always have a bottle of Creed's Royal Oud. Cheers

upon the initial spray you are met with a clean and fresh, spicy cedar aroma. The cedar is complemented by the smell of citrus, keeping the fragrance from getting too deep and staying fresh. After about fifteen minutes, the citrus calms down, leaving a green cedar emphasizing the cedar here as this is the main note throughout the whole wearing. After about half an hour, I begin to get the creamy sandalwood with touches of musk that joins the cedar. The dry-down stays on my skin and projects for about five hours before becoming a skin scent lasting 7+ hours, but if I spray my clothing, I can smell it the following day. This long-lasting quality reassures me of the value of my investment in this fragrance. Furthermore, when I spray my skin it leaves an oily residue, showing that Creed did not cheap out on the oil concentrate. I'll be honest, the name of this fragrance is a misnomer, as at no time do I ever smell oud. The dry down has a little darkness, but I would never guess it comes from oud. I enjoy this fragrance, but I rarely reach for it due to the high price tag. And that is unfortunate, as it is a great bottle that I should enjoy more often.

Fall season is barely started and I was craving Royal Oud, my #1 Fall fragrance. I have 8 Creeds and tried a few others. This morning I was thinking about how good this is. I would say it's a masterpiece of fragrance compostion more so than any other great smelling Creed. It is so different than any other oud fragrance. The greatest fragrances balance contrasting notes. Here the fragrance is complex, and the balance is incredible, making it so enjoyable. It is so earthy in a green way, the Angelica, and rich bitter green resin Galbanum. The pink pepper add more sharpness and zest. This is far from a heavy eastern Oud fragrance. The Oud makes an accord with these zesty green herbs. All the sharp and zesty notes would almost be too much, but then the beautiful balance is here. There is the soft and smooth sandalwood making an accord with a slightly sweet vanela richness in the base. No vanela listed, but that's my impression. This is very classy, it's a bit darring but not over the top. Could be worn for a wedding or special occasion, as well as casually. Great performance. Rating 10/10 God bless. John 3:16

The second greatest smell my nose has ever encountered, its really the scent you put on to feel like royalty. The sweetness of the top notes mixed with the smoky wood make it feel like you're walking into a palace. If you're used to oud and stronger smells then its very much not really an oud more of a wood but to westerners who are more used to lighter scents its the perfect amount of oud for my work and day to day without offending the the simpler of noses. I do wear this as my signature because it matches the vibe of oppulent, sophisticated but also it's a scent that is very unique which makes you even more memorable to people. My only complaints is it very expensive and for that price I wish it would project and last stonger and longer as I get about 3 hours 1m bubble to a skin scent but on clothes I can smell it for days. 10/10 smell, 7/10 projection, 8/10 longevity(6 /10 on skin, 10/10 on clothes), Very masculine, its very overpriced but at the same time means its very niche, no big clones or any big similar DNAs lurking so it's kind of balances out.

Royal Oud is a mixed fragrance inspired by the precious and expensive oud wood. The brand describes this creation as “a dreamy scent in the heart of oriental nights”. Creed also explains that its oud fragrance is ambiguous and mysterious, exotic and sensual. However, Creed offers a rather soft, fresh version. Personally, I think that this fragrance is more cedar-centric than oud oriented and it became a shadow of its former self in terms of presence, sillage and longevity. The composition remains a true masterpiece, but as one of those who knew its beginnings, I’m totally frustrated by the successive dilutions it has undergone. At this stage, it’s no longer Creed but “Greed” 💸💸💵.🤦🏽♂️😤 Greed is the enemy of art and quality, and it’s no wonder that Blackrock has become the majority shareholder in Creed. They’ve killed off one of my favorite perfumes, and it’s for reasons like these that I no longer buy Creed perfumes. The moment I smell Royal Oud, I'm transported to an ancient Persian temple—ornate, golden, steeped in history and quiet reverence. There’s something deeply regal about it, but not in an attention-seeking way. This is wealth in whispers, not shouts. The opening is a lavish blend of rich spices, underscored by green galbanum and angelica. It's herbaceous, slightly bitter, and textured—giving the fragrance a very refined, aristocratic feel. It doesn’t lean into the oud in an aggressive or animalic way. Instead, the oud is smooth and polished, like old wood furniture in a palace that’s been preserved through centuries. There’s also a touch of smoke—subtle and atmospheric—like incense slowly rising through ancient stone corridors. Woven into this smokiness is a whisper of floralcy, understated but present, adding a soft elegance beneath the structure of spice and wood. Royal Oud doesn’t scream. It’s old money. It’s a person who knows their worth and has nothing to prove. It walks into a room and commands respect without saying a word.

Opinion : This fragrance is a state of mind - Poise, character and confidence; Savour it. Evokes : Feeling clean & classy. A formal evening black tie event to a luxurious venue with refined mature folks. Cool to cold weather. Well lit warm lights. Tasteful luxury. Polished grain marble and wooden panels, furnishings. A fire-place to add to the ambience. No other strong cheap smells around to overpower this nuanced smell. What does it smell like? : White & Pink peppery aroma waltzing with expensive aromatic dry wood shavings and sharp herbs like immortelle, finishing off with toasted coconut (not sunscreen-like, but dry & toasted, almost caramelized grated coconut) Bonus : If you're in India, and travelling through Bengaluru T2, the terminal's olfactory signature is very close to this. Opulent. From the moment the gate opens, the smell is prominent, reaching it's cresendo just before the holding area and the departure gates, settling to a lingeting ever-present feel.

Amongst Julian Rasquinet’s gargantuan catalogue of creations, very little speaks to me. But, Royal Oud is a different story. One which has continued to bring Creed immense success long after Olivier’s clutches on Pierre Bourdon slipped. This perfects the space between something uplifting and grounded, speaking firmly without raising its voice. Confidence and austerity, bottled. It invites the comforting, nostalgic warmth of a Christmas tree into your heart, rich cedar bark and needles alike, given sweetness and grace by a touch of rosey pink pepper. However, you’re not in the room, instead peering through the window from outside as the icy afternoon turns to dusk. Creed’s signature aquatic musk runs through the entirety of the scent, offering an addictive quality underneath the dark green woodland. It’s unspeakably smooth, yet dry and brittle like a leaf; a leaf from a tree which thrives in the winter. Rasquinet’s magnum opus, for me at least.

Opens with lemon and powdery notes, it's fresh, airy and clean. Goes a little grassy, has a faint odour of Turkish delight and leans "Oriental." Turns a bit green, has herbaceous notes, maybe tarragon? Gets spicier and warmer, has amber and something else a bit chocolatey. More spice, maybe cumin? Toward the mid the musk kicks in and it has a delightfully nutty edge and the clean metallic DNA Creed is known for. Remains spicy, turns woody, wafts of lemongrass and leather on top of the musk accord. The woods turn to sweet-sandalwood and the scent becomes balsamic but is very smooth in the transition of notes with the musk still present. Performance is good; projects about 2 feet, and lasts on skin for 8-10hrs. More masculine and a little throwback but is smooth and classy above all else! Suits anytime of year, day or night, best for ages 28+. If you like classic gentlemanly scents, this is right up there! Amazing!

Nose Note #867 For a month I thought, what does it remind me off and then it struck me. Spicebomb!!! Absolutely unmistakable. This is like a mix between Spicebomb and 1899 Hemingway except Royal Oud was there first. Mind, the three fragrances are only 1-2 years apart. Not as sweet as Spicebomb and the spices are a bit different, but ultimately you are getting the same experience, even the same cherry-like note. Performance is worse than Spicebomb and 1899, it's moderate. Sillage is very limited. So I can't feel anything but being ripped off and Fragrantica totally doesn't tell you that it's basically the same thing with Spicebomb, when the strong similarities are very obvious. Don't bother even sampling this if you have Spicebomb. Try 1899 Hemingway instead, it's stronger and feels even more gentlemanly, refined and natural than Royal Oud while offering a lower price... 8/10, the DNA is still amazing though

Creed Royal Oud (2016 Batch) Royal Oud is often misunderstood. Despite the name, my nose gets far more cedar than oud—and that’s exactly why I love it. The oud here is clean, restrained, and European, acting more as depth than a focal point. My 2016 batch opens with crisp, regal cedar and subtle peppery spice that immediately feels mature, composed, and confident. The 2016 batch really shines in its balance. Everything feels smoother and denser, with the woods remaining dry, elegant, and quietly powerful through the dry down. Projection is controlled, but longevity is solid. This isn’t a loud compliment chaser—it’s a presence fragrance meant to be appreciated up close. Not sweet, not trendy, and definitely not for everyone. Royal Oud works best in cooler weather and formal settings. If you understand refined, understated luxury, the 2016 batch delivers it beautifully. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1⁄2

This smells like it was made with thousand-dollar bills. It reminds me of a 1920’s millionaire businessman riding in a limousine, the smell of rich wood from his cedar cabinet wafting off his pressed velvet midnight-blue dinner jacket. This is for people who want to smell like The Great Gatsby. The longevity of this scent is difficult to rate because when the base notes finally take over after about 4 hours, all that remains is a sweet, mellow amber similar to the final stages of Bvlgari Man in Black and other such tonka bean concoctions. Galbanum, cedar, pepper, and angelica play the major role in creating the essence of this fragrance, which could be described as a “mahogany-cigar-box” accord. Once that evaporates, alas, Royal Oud is no more. Scent: 10/10 Sillage: arm’s length Longevity: 4-8 hours Variation: summer (sweet/savoury), winter (powdery)

WOW, Amazing Fragrance! Elegant, Classy and Refined. In my opinion, This is a work of Art inside a bottle ! This Scent reminds me of Bois Mystique by Houbigant, About Ninety percent Similar to Bois Mystique but Royal Oud is more lighter . Royal Oud launched before Bois Mystique and Both of them are Masterpiece! I love them because there is a similarity between them. I tried it at HOLT RENFREW OGILVY store and I received a sample of that Too .It is on my Radar and I will buy it on line with reasonable price. It opens up with fresh spicy , green , woody and spices notes in the background then dry down is soft Spicy , musky and woody. This is suitable for Spring, Fall and Winter. I really enjoy it and I love it. I don't get any Oud note in this perfume. Longevity is Average. Highly Recommended. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Creed ! Rating : 9 / 10

This fragrances is understated tremendously. The house of Creed has many fan favorites so I can understand why this might be hidden. For starters they want $500 for a 100ML ... many people would be off put just at that. If you can move past that you’ll find that Royal Oud is one of the most remarkable blends ever constructed. This is Niche perfumery at its absolute finest. The best way to describe this is opulence in a bottle. The main thing I smell is fresh hundred dollar bills and it is blended very well and I really do mean that. You may see the price and be turned off. I can assure you that if there was ever a fragrance deserving of such a price then this is it. Every man should consider this for his collection... Only then will he have conquered his endless olfactory journey. I Highly recommend this underrated gem.

If you’re a blazer and designer jeans wearing guy, 45 and up, and need a fall and winter signature, this is it. Or, if you’re a graying, deep orange silk jumpsuit wearing guy, with a V-12 powered Bugatti, then, yes, this is for you, too — ‘cept this guy can wear it in the dead of summer if he wanted🤣 Class or decadent crass, this is your scent. My bottle has become nuclear, so i only spray twice in fall or winter. Lol This and Spice and Woods are my favorite creeds. Side note: Instead of wasting their time with these variations of Aventus, Creed should release a Middle East exclusive of Royal Oud. In it, put real, noticeable, amounts of oud and watch it fly off the shelves. Just make the overall composition super high quality and, no matter what the price tag says, watch it FLY off the shelves. Just my two cents...

My favorite Creed. It's extremely fresh and masculine, and coming from someone who isnt such a huge fan of over powering Oud fragrances, i actually find the levels of Oud to be perfect for people who dont necessarily want to fill a room up but have people compliment you from a closer range and leave a nice scent trail. Smells like pure success and quiet wealth. It does to some degree kind of give you the feeling like you were sitting by a fire or in a room with people who were smoking cigarettes, but in the best way possible. Longevity is solid, i do find that the performance goes down after about 4 hours into a skin scent but thats honestly good enough considering how beautiful and perfect it is. I would even say this is my current favorite fragrance in general. Skip Aventus and get this

I am obsessed with this one on my husband. You know when something just smells amazing and it never gets old? Every single time he wears it, I just want to sit a little closer to him. Poor hubby knows once he sprays it on, my nose is stuck on him lol. I didn’t like it on paper at first and told him not to get it. I’m glad he didn’t listen to me and bought it anyway, because once it’s on skin, forget about it- nothing compares. It starts bitter, green, dry, peppery but give it just a minute on skin because it warms up into a yummy woody, but not too deep and dark. I don’t smell oud but I also think it’s blended so well and wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in there. I went and bought him a bigger bottle, afraid he will run out - let’s be honest, it’s more for me than for him lol.

Let me tell you, this stuff is phenomenal "quality" juice. I received my 100ml bottle yesterday and began testing. I sprayed the 1st 2 sprays on a Tester strip, then 1 on my arm and 3 on my shirt mid chest. After 9 hours, the test strip smells as if I sprayed it an hour ago, my arm still has a close skin scent of it present, but lastly and the most interesting part is the 3 sprays on my shirt are still performing. I usually go nose blind after 10-15 min if I spray a scent on my chest, but this is highly noticeable still, in a good way and working overtime. This stuff is worth every penny, just do some shopping around first because "do not pay full retail", but if you did, this is the only time I'll say it would still be worth it and I would understand lol.

Old money in a bottle. Pure class and no offensive oud (if any?) This is one of my favourite Creeds without a doubt For people trying this... the drydown is wear the magic is .. the opening is zingy and punchy but the pink pepper and cedar blend makes it feel like a heavy spice scent ... as it drys down it turns into a beautiful, woody, vanillic, lightly powdered masterpiece There is a creamy aspect to the scent that makes it very smooth but also so unique. Im yet to find a fragrance that smells similar aside from FDB's oud rouge intense but that was clearly an inspiration of RO The performance is great on this one too - great sillage / scent trail and exceptional longevity. But dont expect to fill a room (I believe mine is a 2020 batch)

Royal Oud by Creed is a smoky, woody, and well-blended statement piece. I wear it when I want to come across as someone who honors his own boundaries, someone who has done some shadow work. I feel sexy pairing it with a dark outfit, walking into a dark cocktail bar, my hand gently guiding my wife to two open seats at the bar. I really appreciate the balance between the dark woods and the elements that keep it wearable. I’m assuming that’s the citrus up top and the musky sandalwood at the base. Perfectly blended. Smoky texture. Really clean for what it is. The performance has been a bit of a letdown, however. The scent is really powerful at first—I spray it outside to spare my wife—but it becomes a skin scent within a couple of hours.

WOW! Color me impressed! I bought a dozen Creed samples a few weeks ago and have learned that while all smell excellent, most don't perform. The exception to that has been Viking and Bois du Portugal, and I have worn them the past two days. I decided that tonight was the night to try out Royal Oud. My expectations were low and I had purchased a 10ml and was thinking that it was a waste of money just like Aventus Absolu and all its flankers were. It was love at first sniff! This stuff is every bit as masculine as Viking and BdP, has equivalent quality ingredients, and has the performance to back it up. If it wasn't for the price, I would give it a 10. I will be hunting down a bottle of this bad boy right here.

Beautifully crafted vetiver citrus foward fragrance. Oud not really noticeable but possibly in the background in a light elemental way. This smells of class and reminds me of the style of Christian Dior Eau Sauvage. This can be dressed up formal or dressed down at anytime of the year but spring summer and autumn is where it will shine. My bottle is about 3 years old and performance is excellent with a strong push from your body for at least 6 hours and reduces over that time slightly but remains noticeable for a good 10 hours or so. This is for a classy more mature 30+ age group. Overall if you enjoy a denser citrus fragrance that makes you feel like a millionaire this is it ✔️💯

Goat Timeless, not dated. In my humble opinion. The most beautiful natural dry herbaceous woody musky scent. Photorealistic rendition of walking through a forest of money trees. Smells like wealth. If I had to keep one frag from my collection and toss the rest, I’m keeping this no hesitation. It’s also the closest thing to what my idea of a blonde tobacco fragrance would be. If they added tobacco in this it would be the ultimate dream scent I’ve been searching for. Would love some recommendations if anyone knows of anything like that. Dry natural blonde tobacco with some clean woods and musk. Someone plz make it..

Surprisingly poor performance for such an expensive "luxury" fragrance. If this is the best Creed has to offer, your money is better spent elsewhere. Royal Oud does not smell anything like oud. Rather, this is a very fresh woody scent with loads of pink pepper and citruses giving way to fresh green spicy woods. It's a good scent--not a great scent, but a good one. I like it enough to keep the tester bottle I bought in my collection. Would I buy another if this one runs out? No. Would I try more stuff from Creed after this experience? No, there are other fragrance houses that deserve my attention far more.

The House of Creed reminds me of my father’s cologne, and I don't mean that in a bad way: it's quality, timelessness and not trendy. Like a comfortable sweater. This fragrance feels like that: pulling on cashmere sweater that wraps you in comfort, confidence, and warmth with a plume of smooth, elegant woodiness. (Even though Olivier Rasquinet said this a has huge amount of oud, it's just a hint, mostly a smooth cedar that reminds me of my grandparents sauna on the Swedish Baltic coast.) Longevity is decent (projects moderately 3-5 hours, then a skin scent. Despite that, my favorite in the Creed lineup!

I don't really care for reviewing things but I have noticed in my old age of 24 I keep forgetting about colognes I've smelled and then buy them and then realize I've smelled them before so I will start writing reviews for my wallet. Anyway, this smells like old-money like royalty like what I wear to important events. Bit spicy bit sweet no cap bit fresh bit saucy bit swaggy it's just good man idek how to describe it it's just a mixture of good smells I can't really pinpoint anything specific but it's also pretty unique it's like almost an old man smell but not there yet so we #swagging! :3

I am regular user of Aventus, Absolu Aventus and Centaurus. All three have their merits but my daily has been Aventus. I recently got a sample of the Royal Oud that I have worn daily for the last week. It did not blow me away at first wearing. However, after the first couple of days it felt right on me and I just continued wearing it. After a week, I feel like this may be a new signature scent for me. Royal Oud is a very understated, ultra refined, and masculine scent for the mature man. It is a scent for any occasion. You simply can't go wrong with it. I will be adding it to my collection.

Ahh Royal Oud... This one really started my oud journey with niche perfumes and I am elated that it has. The classiness behind this one cannot just be worn with jeans and a t-shirt but nobody's judging what you wanna dress this one around. This is a tweed suit, slacks and some designer dress shoes going out to a upscale, $50-$100 plus restaurant with your significant other on your anniversary night with some smooth R&B music playing in the car. Or if you're trying to pickup a cougar with a nice retirement plan set up and you want to be a beneficiary. It's your world.

Aventus is alright...Royal oud is what you bring when you want to scream class... This is sexy, mature and confident...The "I'm successful now fragrance." This is not some sweet baby stuff...this is for men and women who has finally discovered themselves and goals in life. If you feel like I feel about this beauty, congratulations! you are in the league of the few. By Far the Best Creed for me... I'm not worried about projection, silage or nothing... When you come to me you're not just going to smell it, you'll feel my royalty.

This is gorgeous and classy. A crisp refreshing cedar and sandalwood scent that holds some fiziness from the pink pepper and citruses in the opening. Despite the name it isn't your usual oud scent. This is more of a smooth crispy woody scent, and the oud in here is more resinous and subtle instead of the smoky barnyard note we're used to. It dries down linearly besides losing some of that fizz. However, this scent unfortunately falls short in terms of performance which is a common theme with creed. Scent - 9 Performance - 5

Very happy to hear that Creed has been sold once again. Kering completely abandoned the classic Creed house DNA and instead released endless feminine and/or ultra sweet amber fragrances that smelled more like PDM or a typical designer house. I wish the Creed family were still involved, as they are arguably the greatest scent evaluators ever, but L'Oréal has the opportunity to go back to what made the Creed brand great in the first place. Oh yeah, and Royal Oud is the greatest perfume ever created. Don't mess it up.

Just got my bottle. I have been wearing a sample for almost two weeks. The fragrance I received smells the same as the sampler I got from Bloomingdales but is slightly stronger with better projection. As previously mentioned, my daily is mostly Aventus but sometimes Absolu Aventus or Centaurus with Aventus my favorite of the three. Royal Oud has replaced Aventus as my favorite. It is a boss fragrance that is much more refined, smoother, more masculine and mature fragrance than Aventus. Very happy with it.

Some fragrances announce themselves. This one simply arrives. The oud here isn't aggressive or medicinal the way lesser interpretations tend to be. It's refined — sitting alongside something woody and slightly creamy that makes the whole composition feel genuinely expensive rather than just priced that way. Royal Oud commands a premium for a reason. You smell it and you understand immediately why it rarely goes on sale. Words don't fully capture it. That's not a cliché — it's just accurate.

One of the best fragrances of all time. No other fragrance I know of exudes so much class and sophistication. It is a true delight for me. Some claim they cannot smell the oud. The oud is arguably subtle here, but its rubberiness is apparent. I just picked up a new bottle, and the black plastic cap has been replaced with a beautiful heavy gold metal cap. The fragrance also has a frankincense note in it now that blends beautifully with the cedar, galibanum and oud. I am in love!

i like the newest batches, has that root beer soda opening following an expensive vacation woody cabin smell. i dont understand why this bottle leans toward old people, i think people from his 20s can pull it off well as long as they dont overspray. the oud is subtle and smooth, doesnt have that backyarn animalistic smell . easily a signature , old money refined scent. i like bdk saint honore and i feel this bottle is its masculine version

To the bad reviews, I wonder if we are evening smelling the same fragrance? Did you get a fake bottle, or was this poorly reformulated recently? What is the deal? This is an incredibly well-blended, versatile and smooth fresh-spicy scent. It reminds me of YSL L'Homme Ultime. It's fairly unisex & alludes nothing of oud to my nose, but nevertheless reminds me why Creed got to be so popular in the first place; this is extremely lovely.

This is a very dry woody and peppery fragrance, it's a gentleman's scent. It's appropriate for professional settings, like the office or a board meeting. It's not loud in the traditional way that it's strong, think loud like wearing a suit. You look smart, and you smell the part. I think it works in all seasons too, apart from when it's very hot in the summer. It should be called Ceder Royale instead of Royal Oud. A masterpiece.

A better name for this would be Royal Cedar, because it does not have much Oud. This is a great old money fragrance that is in the same ballpark as fragrances like LV Lovers and Santal 33. This almost smells like Santal 33 with heaps of cedar and no pickle juice smells. I would recommend this for a maturer audience, and this definitely would pair well with a suit. Overall this is an 8/10. Definietly my favorite Creed.

I wanted Royal Oud to smell like it had some Oud in it because I could not detect a single note of it. I layered it with Oud Maktum which has a lot of oud in it (Only Oud). I am pleased with the results but honestly the fragrance smells better when you dont put the oud in it. Should be called Royal Cedar because it is that note with the sandalwood that dominate.

compared to French Lover am very disappointed by the hype about it... very poor longevity, dies down after 15mins (sampled on a skin) .... FM French Lover is more punchy, more present, more sharp .... this quite nice dry-down - but for all the collectors get Lalique Equus for 25bugs and you end up with 90% similar vibe ... and safe your money, Creed is Greed

My first Creed purchase back when I knew absolutely nothing about fragrances and was just out here trusting vibes and chaos. Word of advice: don’t just follow the hype. I didn’t buy this because of reviews or trends, I bought it because I genuinely loved the smell. And honestly? Years later... I still do. Turns out, past me knew what he was doing. Rare win.
