Royal Princess Oud

I'm eager to change out my normal, daily, go-to fragrances of oud, woods, resins, patchouli, ambergris, spices, etc with something a more feminine leaning fragrance...something with florals, for sure. Because I have always loved Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie, I decided to try Royal Princess Oud. I historically have liked, or loved many Creed fragrances, so I figured why not? So, Royal Princess Oud is truly a lovely and beautiful fragrance that wears very true to its listed notes. The opening is spritzy & citrusy Sicilian bergamot along with rose, violet and aldehydes. The rose note is a lovely, small, young rose and the violet is also thin & wispy...and green...and wet. These beautiful opening notes begin a memorable floral experience. IMO, The opening is ethereal and dreamy. So, some jasmine and vanilla, perhaps a wee-bit of patchouli soon rise making a slight appearance. I'm not 100% sure of how iris smells but I suppose iris is present amongst the (sadly) waning floral bouquet in the lovely opening and now the merging middle. Overall, the mid-notes contribute slightly to the already gorgeous perfume opening. Finally, I detect more sweet patchouli, which I love when it's well blended with other notes. Then, the Creed signature base notes arrive in all their glory...some benzoin, definite sandalwood and other woods, resins. Given the name of this fragrance, I would expect at some point oud might appear; however I never quite detect anything that smells like oudwood. I love what I love but I truly am a niche perfume supporter. I know The House of Creed has been around for centuries. However, in the past it seems their main market was a small-ish group of people who truly appreciated the Creed style of perfume making, ie: the quality of the ingredients, the consistent unique fragrances & the performance of all their items. Not so much any more. Once Creed began selling in big, upscale department stores, I think their mission drastically changed. I am not rich and buying expensive perfume is a real luxury. So, I value the few full bottles I own and somehow, all the dots need to connect in order for me to purchase perfume upwards of $265-$300 USD for 75 ml of perfume. I'm sure I can bounce around and find a bottle of RPO at a fair price, which is what I usually do when I purchase such expensive perfume. Yet despite loving this perfume, the fragrance did grown extremely thin after 20-30 minutes. This perfume performs exactly how most Creed fragrances of late perform with my chemistry. Seems like over the years, Creed has changed the quality of their ingredients and their marketing & advertising no longer have that small-time, caring feel. And because Creed perfumes have become coveted by more elite persons, I cannot imagine the perfume ever becoming affordable for those who love the uniqueness of special perfume houses. So, longevity for me is low at two hours tops. Silage is moderate. RPO is a gorgeous fragrance, it really is. I just think given its price and performance, there may be another similar fragrance out there that is somewhat more suitable for me, the things I hold dear and my budget.

BIRCH. Where is it in the note pyramid? To my nose it is so obviously the backbone of this fragrance and is the main similarity to its smelling like "Aventus' sister." Very accurate, except this is that freshly-cut fragrant woody goodness made brighter with an almost juicy fresh blend of vibrant, wet florals. The violet is not powdery to me, in fact it's almost a hybrid between violet flower vs violet leaf... but not quite either of the 2 as I've smelled before (the only similar violet note I can recall is from CB I Hate Perfume's Violet Empire, before which I thought I hated the note altogether due to super synthetic concoctions until that point). So in sum, it's gorgeous here, none of the too common powder bomb 'violet' face dusting powders. Elegantly feminine, don't let 'princess' in the name fool you. The rose and jasmine are there too, also wet and gleaming and balancing the woodiness perfectly. A touch of bergamot, a pinch of patchouli - Voila! A totally inviting feminine scent with everything I loved about Aventus' fresh fruitiness, but preferred on my man. As an oud lover & styrax hater, I get neither of these notes, though I can fool myself into thinking I get a touch of oud from time to time due to the intense 'birch' note I perceive. Lovely.

This perfume is amazing (at least with my skin chemistry) the opening is intense and very sharp but that’s not what this whole perfume is about, the magic happens 20 minutes to an hour in. It turns into this deep, comforting addicting scent. The vanilla and the woods start to come out softening the initial Oudhy citrusy scent and give it an addicting and comforting quality. This perfume makes me feel expensive, chic, and like I just came out of a Turkish hammam and the scent of the oils is clinging to my skin wafting wherever I go. The sillage is moderate to huge depending on the weather and how long you’ve been wearing it. The longetivity is truly eternal. I sprayed it on my wrists four days ago and I still get whiffs whenever I adjust my hair or bring my hand close to my face. The smell is still distinctly there. I’ve noticed some previous reviews are negative and I think it just comes down to skin chemistry, so it’s best to give it a test first. But if you know you smell good in anything amber, especially amber vanilla or amber floral then I think it would be a safe blind buy. In my collection I have only amber perfumes as they work best with my skin chemistry.

Only Creed would think to make oud delicate fresh and feminine, I adore most of the ouds by creed and dislike most other oud perfumes . The sweet and powdery violet is interesting and unexpected to pair with oud and the Jasmine and vanilla add femininity . Although I would love to smell this on a guy also. My husband loves this on me and I will have to spray him with this soon !!! I enjoy violet notes on men and this would be fresh and sexy on a guy. The iris adds an elegant touch. It smells sophisticated however Royal Princess Oud can be worn with jeans or dressed up, really to any occasion. It smells soft ,clean and fresh of white musk and violets with woods and iris it's just so fresh and delicious at the same time. A skin scent, very natural smelling like raw materials , high quality ! It reminds me very much of Aventus and even more so of Royal Oud ( one of the best male perfumes made in my opinion ) However this is more feminine and delicate without smoke or too much of anything , just perfect ! Creed Royal Princess Oud - I was so excited and full of high expectations to finally get my hands on this beautiful bottle. The juice though, even after reading gazillions of reviews, was not what I imagined to be. It's nice and pleasant. Yes, that's it. Fresh cut roses, mixed with lots of violets, the smell of juicy flower stems being most prominent, surprised me because I was expecting something opposite--deep rose and patchouli infused scent, enriched with oud. But where is the oud? Definitely not in this creation. These promised notes didn't deliver for me: bergamot, rose and violet, jasmine, vanilla absolute, patchouli and tuscan iris, siam benzoin, sandalwood, styrax and agarwood (oud), especially in the almost non-existent dry down. Yes, it didn't go that far before the scent was gone, 30 minutes maximum. I sprayed in my hair and in my clothing in case if it was my skin that played tricks with me. Very low sillage in the first 10-15 minutes. Overall, it's a pretty but shy spring/summer scent that needs to be reapplied often.

To my surprise I am head over heels. Completely signature worthy and very addictive. RPO absolutely sparkles on my skin, and theres a lovely wet earth present in the background that offers balance to a central champagne-like quality. The perfume is quite uplifting, with minimal oud, and an elegant woody background that makes plenty of room for the other, airier notes. It's delicate, and very fresh- yes it might give soapy, but I think that's very much a deliberate part of the appeal. Patchouli is minimal and totally seamless, while dripping wet floral are present in a muted way. Again, very sparkly and uplifting while having enough of a base to create balance. This is really well done and somewhat atmospheric. I think this could easily be a signature! Moderate sillage, low to moderate longevity, very feminine, almost all season, and way overpriced- but unfortunately there's nothing out there quite like it that has the same delicately blended quality. Excellent stuff.

I like Royal Princess Oud for it's uniqueness. This is not mainstream and not meant to be. Unless you have a particularly open mind for fragrances, you should get a tester first. It's not the oud, there's nothing overwhelming there. It's just this is a different fragrance and it can smell different on a strip than on skin. Green, wood and spiciness are prominent at first and then the florals and vanilla develop. I get no fruitiness here. I found mine at Winners with a red $60 sticker on it. It was probably on clearance because it comes in a very plain unimpressive looking white box and no one had known what it was they were looking at. My good fortune. This could easily be unisex as is the case with many Creeds. Sillage is average but longevity is loooong, it'll be there when you wake up.

Royal "Princess" Oud? Really?? I'm a man and I'd wear this one myself any day! Beautiful fragrance. The oud is clean and unlike others, I feel it's prominent, but more akin to the oud of TF Oud Wood and Versace Oud Oriental as opposed to the Montales and Manceras. Patchouli is there front and center to blend the high and low tones of this fragrance, and I'm mostly getting violet, patchouli and oud, but the rose, iris, and vanilla are all supporting the violet to give it a very warm feel. The red in the color of the bottle is very fitting. Very unisex, and one of the best Creed scents I've laid my nostrils upon. Not sure why 5 people voted that this smells like Aventus... I mean, that's a joke, right? I hope you're joking... it does remind me of Versace Oud Oriental, however.

I have finally met the Royal Princess Oud!! The oud is prominent in this fragrance, beautifully surrounded by violet, rose, green stems and a smoky base. So, who is this mystery royal princess and how would she look?.. She is gorgeous and fresh regardless of her age, confident in any clothes, any season, any occasion. She can enjoy morning sun riding a horse on a way back to her castle, wearing jeans and leather jacket riding a bike.. she makes heads turn around walking in a silk cocktail dress at an evening party.. She feels good and makes others happy. She does not talk loud but when she does speak everyone listens. She is authentic, genuine and reliable. I am happy I have met her. We are going to be good friends!

This smells like grandma. No, not “old lady” in general. It’s my Japanese grandma who passed away almost 30 years ago. She was of the generation who wore Kimono as daily clothes. She had a beautiful Kimono chest. In it with Kimonos was a pouch that was made with red heavy silk, filled with powdered Kyara (Agarwood). The purpose of the pouch is, of course, to scent your Kimonos. Every time I sat next to grandma I smelled Kyara. She was an intelligent, stern sort of woman, rather than a loving nana who spoils you. The scent suited her well. I am no oud-connoisseur, but Royal Princess Oud unmistakably has that coolness of Kyara I adored.

This fragrance is pretty interesting. When the temperature is warm, it tends to be more floral. In contrast, when it is chilly, it tends to be more woody. It is sometimes masculine but sometimes feminine. I usually do not like woody scents, which could lean to a masculine scent. However, this is exceptional for my preference. It is elegant, sophisticated, and chic. Also, this woodiness has a relaxing effect on me as well. It is a totally full bottle worthy in my opinion. By the way, there is no "oud oud" here. I would say that it is woody but not oud.

I feel sorry for some people that got a bad batch/sample/bottle. Two sprays from my bottle last on my arm for 14 hours, you can easily smell oud and roses, it is one of my all-time favourite fragrances and maybe the most favourite from Creed (together with Pure White Cologne, of course, haha). Oh, did I mention that I am a gentleman? So yes, I would think Creed should rename this fragrance to Creed Royal Prince's Oud? I would take this fragrance instead of Royal Oud any day of the year... Longevity 10/10 Fragrance 10/10 Price 5/10

I think this is the best 'female' fragrance the house of Creed make. This is a remarkable scent which I absolutely love. I bought this for my wife, but even I would wear it. I love the way Royal Princess Oud by Creed is blended to perfection, and I love how unique it is. Nothing is quite like it. Royal Princess Oud is a strong fragrance and not for the weak hearted, but don't let the powerful opening put you off, the dry down is phenomenal. I personally feel like this fragrance is phenomenal from start to finish. Simply a 10/10.

Oh this one is going to be a SUPER smash hit in fragcomm. This one is fruity, yet has a slight lemony/citrus accord on the top. I don't get tons of oud, though I do pick it out during the heart but it is definitely not in the main stage. I get a bit of a coconut/lemon vibe at the top, then in the heart I get lots of jasmine and the dry-down it turns into a beautiful soft sandalwood/styrax/patchouili type smell. It is beautiful! 10/10 for a beautiful, spring frag. It is a feel good fragrance for sure! Well done Creed!

Citrusy, woody, slightly spicy, and powdery—this is a power scent in every sense. It’s for a confident woman who knows exactly who she is and takes up space unapologetically. It has presence without being offensive. The projection and longevity are no joke—it demands attention—but still feels appropriate for the office. This is your “I have an important meeting and I’m going to own it” scent. This is “I’m playing with the big boys, but I’m all woman.” Fresh and warm at the same time. Absolutely love it.

One of my favourite perfumes , it’s fresh woodsy , clean , classy inoffensive and light. It smells of woods and violets and citruses. Such a great all year round scent. It’s airy and yet substantial! However I have 3 bottles and each smells a little different. Batches really vary for this and most creeds. I have one bottle that I am head over heels with. It’s more powdery and has lots of musk and fluff in it !

This one really doesn't get the hype it deserves. It's the closest I've ever gotten to having a signature scent this is really a show stopper fragrance. It smells expensive, classy, powerful, put together without being too cold. It's perfect for year round wear and goes with any outfit. An added bonus that not many people wear this one although I'm not sure why, to me it's perfection

This is a great fragrance for layering. It softens Aventus For Her, adds depth and floral hints to musky scents (I particularly like it with Narciso in the white cube) and gives more dimension to sweet vanilla or caramel fragrances. It shines for me in winter - not sure how it will work in summer humidity. And I don't get any oud from this either.

im now realizing i think i might be in love with violet. iris leaves this soft and powdery, it has this almost breezy cooling sensation to it, it’s rounded out by rose petals and smoothed out by oud. very delicate, mysteriously angelically beautiful... such a curious scent, i need to revisit this

Mine does not last so long on my skin or clothes and the projection is not there I think it needs to macerate for a while. I hope i got the real one. I will get a sample from store and compare the two. I also wear it in the winter and it was raining I will try other seasons also l. Will update

The first 5 minutes is strong dry wood, quite masculine. But after that it smells sweeter. It keeps getting better and more feminine the longer you wear it. Very addictive! I don’t find it gives a big scent bubble. But maybe I’m nose blind. It lasts ~6 hrs on my skin. Overall, love it!

I find this lovely for a woman, a classy powdery woody floral fruity. It is sexy, flirtatious and inviting on the skin. No teenage fruity here...grown up. Sophisticated yet fun and flirty. On me the oud is nowhere to be found and I am fine with that as Oud an I do not see eye to eye.

I do get violet, but the rest of the note pyramid seems way off. This is violet, lots of grapefruit, musk, ambergris, some rose and jasmine and ambroxan. Very fresh and sheer and long lasting. A compliment getter for my wife. Absolutely no oud, nor even any middle eastern influence.

I love this scent. Perfect for the cold months. This scent lasts well over 8hrs for me and seems to fill the room I am in. I always receive compliments when wearing this one. It is classic, beautiful, and powerful. My only complaint is how expensive it is.

Royal Princess Oud is a crystal-clean light floral-musk with patchouli and a hint of oud. Classy and exquisite. Like Creed's Royal Oud, this is "an oud for people who don't like oud." These two are my favorite Creeds. And I don't like oud. 10/10

Adore this! Bought a bottle and wore it exclusively until it finished. Now need to save up to pay for another! I think for the (ridiculous) price sillage and longevity could be better! Creed need to up their game on those two counts

Some one here mentioned its Aventus's sister; I agree.Smaller nicer more delicate and less loud sister. This is also smoky,woody,classy and year round.Even less sweet. A lovely sister any brother wishes. Great lasting.

Man I am hooked on this perfume. It is so subtle, comforting, delectable and classy. It’s like a super posh thin mint in a forrest with the most expensive aftershave left on you after a passionate embrace.

When I wear this perfume, It brings me to a forest, and it gives me a peaceful sense. I love all notes, specially its patchouli note. It has a perfect longevity. I love it.

When I tried Royal Princess Oud I was thrilled by the way this fragrance resembles Aventus - in a feminine way. It gives me the same feeling, the same excitement!

Luxurious, could be unisex, I get some leather in this. Lasts long. Feels like dressing up to go out , classy.

I sampled this stuff and absolutely love it. It is light, but still noticeable. Dare I even say unisex!?!?!?!?

Lovely, long lasting fragrance. Reminds me of Montale's Aoud Samarkand. Great for work or an evening out.

I've had my eye on a few of Creed's fragrances for a while but wasn't sure if they really merited such elevated prices. I was finally able to find this one and Tabarome at a discounted rate, and have since added them to my collection. Royal Princess Oud is different and quite lovely. The oud is there, but its woody character is deftly woven into a handful of other more prominent notes: wet, refreshing violet; acidic yet pungent bergamot; and green, leafy patchouli. These are the main players here, and they work together perfectly, cradling the gently medicinal oud in sylvan arms. I also get traces of powdery iris and creamy jasmine, and perhaps a tiny bit of velvety sandalwood, but the rest is too well blended and delicate for me to parse apart. The overall effect is one of bright—almost astringent—greenness on a subtly floral-woody-balsamic backdrop. It's unexpected and dissimilar to anything else I've smelled. Royal? Undoubtedly. Oud? Yes, but as a muted central player in the overarching performance. Princess? Maybe, but I find this marvelously androgynous, thanks to the woods and patchouli. I can also see this working very well in any season but cold winter, which would stifle its more vivid facets. Slightly more on the casual side. If you're looking for an innovative use of classic notes, look no farther.

Royal Princess Oud is a surprisingly pleasant and well-composed scent, despite the plethora of listed notes that look discordant on paper. Initially fresh and bright, its elegant floral heart is grounded by the titular oud note, here woody and non-skanky, paving the way to a nice amber base featuring a measured use of ambroxan. It isn't too synthetic despite this - it fits in seamlessly, acting as a fixative. RPO opens with fresh citrus, crisp and tart, paving the way to the light, powdery floral heart. Rose is prominent, complemented beautifully by a cloud of earthy patchouli. Powdery violet follows, and there is a green undertone. Soft, sweet jasmine adds body. There is an underlying muskiness that paves the way to the woody-amber drydown. The oud note that emerges as it dries down is soft and woody, melding nicely with the sweet, musky amber accord. Some ambroxan is in there, alongside some resinous amber notes. Dry vanilla complements it nicely, adding soft sweetness. It fades to musky vanilla skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A pleasant, understated feminine scent, RPO is pretty decent overall albeit unmemorable. It is an easy-to-wear transeasonal scent for everyday. Expensive for what it is, but not bad. 3/5.

Unique creation. Watery-powdery-woody. Gentle. Sandalwood dominates, oud takes second place but is done here in the cleanest form. Then we have big iris note that competes with sandalwood, with violets coming second and rose third. Next, I feel resins, styrax and a small dose of sweet benzoin. The fragrance is more powdery than sweet. Woody in a light way. Very elegant and sophisticated. The name is not wasted on it, it does feel royal. A spoiled princess feeling all grown-up. With time vanilla moves to the front and the scent becomes sweeter. Lovely. Autumn-perfect, but should work also in early spring.

I want to like this soooooo bad, but in the opening there is a scent that smells like sweaty feet, or worn socks...its funky. The funk lasts for about the first 10 mins of wear, then it gets beautiful through the drydown. Royal Princess Oud slightly reminds me of the scent profile of Aventus for Her, but CAFH is waaayyyy better. Performance is eh, the fragrance sits on my skin for about 4-5 hours. With an overspay, the sillage can be experienced by others, I'd give it a 6/10. Projection is strong I'd say 8/10. Overall, Creed Royal Princess Oud is a 7/10.

I'm getting beautiful complex mixed florals and a very lightweight slightly plasticky oud. This is very similar to Kilian's Musk Oud, but slightly more feminine. Creed has a certain DNA. Their perfumes are clean, crisp, inoffensive, airy and delicate and have many subtle notes that never lean in any particular direction. Smelled this at Bloomingdales. Parfum concentration should be higher though considering the price. Smell: 8 out of 10 Longevity: 7 out of 10 Leans a bit more feminine For reference, I'm female.

This opens with a slightly dry oud but the oud is getting disappeared when the smell settles. I can also say that the opening reminds me of Royal oud. The base is more floral, a little bit powdery and sweet. It's could be unisex in my eyes. Acilista hafif kuru bir oud kokusu geliyor ama koku oturdukca oud siliniyor ve daha cok ciceksi ve biraz pudrali bir havayla birlikte tatli bir koku kaliyor. Hatta acilisi bana Royal oud'u hatirlattigini soyleyebilirim. Bana gore erkek kullanimina da uygun.

Surprisingly green. Woody. Quite simple and for that I'm admiring it. For women, huh? I need a bottle of this to myself! I think this is a great "signature scent" type of unisex fragrance. But with that price tag it's always a good idea to sample it first. Also another good idea is to read all the reviews above & below. This is not a sweet fragrance and not for everybody, so keeping hopes realistic will help greatly with this one. 👍

This really does smell like Aventus. How absolutely bonkers. Oud? Not really. Violets? Sure, okay. Aventus? Totally. Bizarre as heck. One really can't say that this doesn't have Creed DNA when it's definitely almost 60% identical to another one by them. Berries, bergamot, sandalwood & violets. I think I like this one more, though. I don't really like Aventus. It works really well as a casual fragrance. Kind of a love.

When I tried this on the cardboard tester all I could smell was animal musk/barnyard. When I sprayed it on me I picked up a powdery rose (I assume the powder note was the violet) and a deep musky scent that blended well on my skin. It's a perfectly fine smell but I feel like perfectly fine is not what I want at this price point.

Modern woody floral, which is more on the delicate side. Overall, smells powdery masculine; I think it could be unisex. Despite the oud note, it doesn't smell middle eastern in any way, but rather a western-style scent. Not too bad, but the price tag bites.

Wow I like this. The first sprays reminded me of Christmas spices. It's raspy and woody floral. I think I can even smell the wood. Great blind buy based on notes and reviews.

Smells like tapioca, like walking into a Boba shop

Oh how I wanted to love this scent- the name and the bottle seem right up my alley. I wanted an elegant, classic, sophisticated and luxurious perfume but unfortunately this kind of scent is just not for me. This is very powdery and lipsticky, so if you like those kind of scents, I think you will like it much better than I did. It's floral, feminine, and luxurious but just too powdery for me, which is definitely a preference thing. The oud and wood take a back seat to the florals so if you are looking for a very oudy fragrance you also may be disappointed. It's still a well crafted and lovely fragrance, and I don't dislike it, it's just one I would not pay for.

Judging from its name and the vibrant looking flanker, I had expected some oud-based extravaganza. But surprisingly, this turned out to be a very citrusy and bright floral green, which is pleasant as a spring/summer time fragrance. It opens with a blast of sharp bergamot, then melts into a faint combo of iris vanilla. Maybe it's me, I cannot detect much of oud. I can see why some describe it as 'soapy', which to me is a neutral description (instead of negative). As it is a very bright and vivid scent, but still pretty, albeit not a stunner... I would wear it again as a daytime easy wear, but not the sensual oud I was hoping it to be.
