Creed Royal Service, the vaunted, pricey 2011 release to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Creed the year before, supposedly a product of influences from various past Creed fragrances. As another reviewer mentioned, there's certainly some continuity with Original Cologne / Pure White Cologne, the middle-of-the-road fresh/floral pairing, elegantly crafted. Royal Service offers the citrus of bergamot and grapefruit, fresh floral of neroli and daffodil, and soft base of musk and amber (perhaps ambergris). It's refined, relaxing, and overall just well put-together, very much a unisex offering, and while leaning toward warm weather usage, can probably do decently well in colder weather as well. Its performance is a bit understated like the scent itself, not projecting a ton but seeming to have some lasting power close to the skin. I don't think Creed was going for anything too boastful in this creation, anyway. Offered only in a 200ml flacon at $1,760 (appropriate insofar as the price mimics the founding year of 1760), it's untenable for most to acquire a full bottle, but I'm happy to have sampled it. At a lower price, I'd contemplate buying a bottle. 8 out of 10

My apologies for my comment below. I just looked at my sample with some glasses on and realized what I am sampling is actually creed Delphinus! Not Royal Service. No wonder it smells like Delphinus , it is! I’ve been testing this over the past three months I go back to it every month or so and I have to tell you it’s delicious. The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger is because I have boundless, along with a massive collection. lol 😝

I haven’t found a creed that I’m in love with yet but I just tried 1760 and it’s good. I really like it. I don’t know if I’ll buy the full bottle because I have boundless by Amouage and it also reminds me of Delphinus . A definite must try for people who enjoy woody, resonance, and incense profile fragrances 😍

I received a sizable sample of this when I purchased Dries Van Noten "Soie Malaquais" x 100ml. I am always excited and appreciative to receive perfume samples of new fragrance launches when I make an online purchase, EVEN if I know the samples are not my style. Creed is a house I'm quite familar with. SO, I (sorta) knew what to expect when I applied and tried Creed "1760." As others on many fragrance sites, blogs and such have stated, the fragrance opens in typical Creed fashion, with slightly fizzy, aldehydic, citrus and floral notes. Iris is evident. The base is predictably lovely based on the notes listed. So, 1760 is what I would (sorta) classify as a typical, feminine-leaning "fougere" fragrance. The dry down is not dirty, or grassy, or super-green. However, the fragrance has the typical citrus-floral-woody notes and development that one experiences with many fougere fragrances. Creed 1760 Is what I'd consider to be a refined, restrictive, formal, restrained, well-mannered fragrance. Pleasant, appealing to the masses, safe blind buy I would imagine for anyone who loves this type of mixed floral fragrance and the "Creed" style.

I was tooooooo curious for it and when I finally sampled it, i was like what? This is just like... And yes despite the high price tag and the huge hype about it, there's no novelty and wow factor. To my nose, it's a hybrid of Creed jardin d'amalfi and creed pure white cologne. By keeping the prices high and the supplies low, companies know how to control the minds of the masses. 5/10 for profile 9/10 for presentation 6/10 for uniqueness and novelty 8/10 for performance Humble Regards

A very basic classic citrus perfume reminiscent of offerings like Nio, Renaissance etc. Its a nice scent but on the grounds of scent alone, definitely not worth the price. You're only paying for the bottle and "exclusivity".

First off: If you know Creed, you will unequivocally notice that this is “on brand”. It has a recognizable quality both in ingredients and build. On top of that, it carries itself with an eloquence and delicate nature that only Creed has been able to master. In the opening, I strongly agree with the Pure White Cologne comparison. Its not so much that the notes match but that there is a herbal bitterness or “dissonance” that keeps you hanging. It may not be pleasing to all noses but its the guarantee of resolution that keeps you sniffing. About 3 minutes in, it starts to be its own fragrance. The bitter orange and neroli dominate but the amber in the base keeps things, not-so-bitter. It is at this point that the citrusses are most dominant with a somewhat-dry yet rich quality. At roughly 15 minutes in, I started to smell a familiar musk. It was the very same musk that dominates Aventus for her. To be clear, the drydown of this does not smell like Aventus for Her but if you have smelled that, you will surely recognize the musk. It is this musk that gives this composition the “powdery” touch. My overall thoughts: To my extremely-spoiled -Creed-appreciating nose, this is beautiful. Its especially beautiful in a novelty, nostalgic, or even “take me away from my problems” type of way. Its the type of scent that a collector will smell and immediately seek out a bottle but in reality only reach for it in those occasional moments they want to escape from the cares of the day.

I have the ScentualObsessions clone of this Royal Service DNA, so my remarks are regarding the scent profile generally. The real thing, being such a rare limited release, is almost impossible to get my nose on. This scent is unisex more than anything and leans masculine if it leans either way. The actual Fragrantica gender ratings reflect this. Royal Service is actually a very "Gentlemanly" fragrance. Creed erred in marketing this to women. Royal Service smells like walking into a male royal's walk-in closet. It has an elegant sartorial, clothing vibe. Maybe similar to an elegantly musty old library full of old, musty books. It reminds me most of Tartan by Sarah Baker, which is supposed to evoke associations with "a fire roaring in the library while you savor a glass of Speyside Single Malt, all nestled into a tartan blanket. Warmth and refined heritage envelope you after a walk with the hounds through mossy ruins in Scotland’s Highlands." They both evoke that warm, beautifully musty, refined heritage and traditional sartorial elegance unique to British royalty.

I've decided to redo this review after individually smelling each ingredient that composes this wonderful scent. This is a Musk dominated scent. It is literally one of the best musk's I have scented. Of coarse it is synthesized due to musk being banned but it still has a some what animalic touch to it. Musk holds the all the notes which, at first, opens with a beautiful citrus blend and dries down to its floral heart, eventually leaving you with musk, ambergris base. A lot of work has been put into this fragrance. Definitely not your standard fragrance.

It's not as royal as the name says. it's spicy and citrusy but not worth the price, at least that's my opinion after trying the sample. Initially, it felt musky, fresh and warm, it gets better and wonderful after drying down. I kind of liked it but I wouldn't spend thousands of dollars on a full bottle. Can some one suggest me any similar fragrance like this which is easy on pockets?

If I was to refer to fragrances as though they were people, I'd say Creed Royal Service smells like Creed Pure White Cologne's sister.
