Silver Mountain Water

My experience after my first wearing of Creed's SMW. A play about a fragrance by: Rich28 Chapter I. It's late evening and I just opened and sniffed my bottle of SMW. Rich to Sister: "Smell this" (sprays sister) Sister: (Smells wrist) "Hmmm...this smells goooood, I'd wear it! It's light and resembles Millesime Imperial." Rich: "It does" Sister: (cheeky smile on her face),"You could give it to me like you did MI if you don't like." Rich: Ahhhh...no...I'll be hanging on to this one. Chapter II. An hour later. Rich to Brother: "smell this" (sprays wrist) Brother: (sniffs wrist then looks at me with eyes open wide) "This one is exactly my style, what's it called?" Rich: "Silver Mountain Water by Creed" Brother: "Of all the fragrances you own, this one is the best I've smelt so far" Chapter III. The following day on my way to work with a coworker, nearly 2hrs after application. Rich to Female Coworker#1: (At traffic light) "Smell this" Female Coworker #1: (Sniffs arm)"Hmmmmm"...(grabs arm for a second sniff)"smells really good...Smells like a female could wear too" Rich: "Yeah, it does...it's very unisex I think." Chapter IV. Mid morning (approx 10am.)at the office. Female Coworker #2: (Passes me standing by the cubicle of another coworker chatting.) "Somebody smells really good." (she looks at me then says) "it's you" Rich: (chuckles and says nothing) Female Coworker #2: (sits at her cubicle) Hmmm...(shakes head obviously in appreciation of the fragrance) "That fragrance smells really nice." Rich: (liking the attention, yet a bit self conscious) "Thanks" Chapter V. Conclusion after one day of wearing SMW. Of all the fragrances I own, SMW wins the prize for soliciting the most emphatic compliment I've ever gotten. When your coworker reacts positively to your fragrance to the point where you begin to feel unconfortable, that's gotta say something.

I cannot express to you how greatly I enjoy this fragrance. Absolutely fantastic smell: classy, clean, and unisex in a way that is masculine on a man and fresh and musky feminine on a woman. That kind of unisex is rare, as most unisex fragrances are just soft, very sweet, and slightly spiced to give it a potentially masculine edge. However, there is legitimate controversy regarding the performance. I have been lucky, and I have had average freshie performance from this fragrance, and i have been complemented on it many times (albeit, within the first hour or two of applying the fragrance, when it is at its strongest). My friend, on the other hand, claims that he gets terrible performance out of his bottle and that no one can smell it on him. Admittedly, when we all got together for dinner the other night, he informed me he was wearing it, and I could not smell it on him even a little bit. Perhaps skin chemistry is really playing a significant role, perhaps its different batches, or maybe it is a combination of the two. Regardless, my warning is this: this is a fragrance you test before you purchase (yes, even from discounters). Go to a Dillard's or something and try a good couple sprays on skin and figure out how it behaves for yourself. If you are like me, you will find that this is one of your favorite fragrances of all time, and you may even like the Armaf dupe (I think it is fantastic as a stand alone fragrance, and a VERY close dupe). 10/10 scent profile, 5.5/10 performance all things considered, and spectacular choice for classy high heat events like weddings in the spring and summer.

I don't even know where to start. Firstly, I believe that the fragrances from Creed are very good, but I also believe they are not all worth it, especially those that have excellent dupes such as Aventus or GIT. With Silver Mountain Water, I have not smelled any dupe that resembles the beauty and the quality in this fragrance. This is such a refreshing and alluring scent. It resembles to me like smelling a glass of cold water with a lot of ice on it, in the best way possible (I believe due to the inky note). On my skin, the performance is superb, the longevity is also great, which is why I can justify its price. On the compliments side, it has to be my most complimented fragrance by both men and, mostly, women. I live in a country with hot weather and high humidity, and it works extremely well here, both day and night. It may be a personal thing, but I also like that it is a very unique scent and since it is not so popular around here, people associate it with me, that's nice. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Sillage: 9/10 Versatility: High Mass Appeal: High Value: Expensive, yet justified I really love this fragrance, to the point where it is my signature fragrance. I firstly bought it back in 2017, and I bought a second bottle of this last year. It is one that I will always keep in my collection, even when I don't repurchase many of my fragrances to experience new things in my fragrance journey.

If you enjoy fresh summer fragrances with a clean citrus vibe like Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue or Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis, but find their performance, longevity, or overall character a little too ordinary, then Creed Silver Mountain Water feels like the fragrance that takes that idea to the next level. It transforms that fresh feeling into something much more sophisticated, refined, and distinctive. The combination of musk and tea creates a beautiful dance with the bright citrus freshness. Yes, it definitely has a slightly masculine and elegant side. It reminds me of a well-dressed, charismatic man in a crisp white shirt, very clean and effortlessly stylish. But despite that, I think it works incredibly well on women too. The masculinity here is never harsh or heavy. Instead, it has a very minimal, fresh, green, and airy aura. The fragrance lives up to its name, it genuinely smells like a cool mountain breeze. That’s why the freshness feels so natural. It never comes across as sharp, artificial, or cologne-like. On the contrary, it feels soft, calm, and comforting. The opening starts with a cool citrus freshness, and in the drydown it becomes cleaner, slightly floral, and softly powdery, which makes the fragrance feel even more elegant. It has the kind of scent that genuinely lifts your mood and makes you feel refreshed every time you smell it.

Silver Mountain Water is exactly what I want it to be, at least for me. It reminds me of fragrances my father would wear and the fragrances he wears now. SMW was never meant to project or fill a room. It is designed to be experienced by you and by people close enough to matter, those who understand the same quiet standards, where subtlety carries more weight than volume. Back before Creed was everywhere, people wore this kind of fragrance for themselves, not to impress or overwhelm anyone. It smells clean, confident, and quietly refined, almost like it belongs to you rather than sitting on top of you. Longevity: will peak for a few hours, but will remain with you all day Occasions: This is best when you are well groomed, dressed cleanly, and moving through spaces where subtlety is understood and respected. You will get told you smell nice and get away with saying "that is just how I smell". Amazing go-to for a first date if this means anything to you. It works beautifully for professional settings, quiet social gatherings, lunches, meetings, and travel. This is not a party or nightlife scent.

Creed Silver Mountain Water, what an experience you’ve been. Hands down one of the best of Creeds offerings, it’s a bright, floral metallic with a slight hint of a sandalwoody-musk. This stuff personally screams luxury to me, I adore it for its occasion. It’s going to be a stunning compliment getting on summer days, or better yet, cloudy chilly days / rainy days. Off rip the initial scent is like an icy metallic knife cutting into a basket of fruit with the stems and leaves still attached. To my nose, the tea and fruity notes blend to make a sensual floral note, which the metallic beautifully tops off with a crisp edge. This is exactly what I would imagine A Silver Mountain would smell like, with some flowers and fruits along a stream that goes down the side of it. It’s a masterpiece in my eyes. Overall 8.75/10. The only downside is the longevity, it lasts 4-6 hours with pretty good projection (much better projection outside than inside) but won’t last the entire day. Absolutely beautiful regardless.

Rating: 9.5 / 10 Sexier lighter than Aventus and Chez Bond Silver Mountain Water is, without a doubt, Creed’s most hypnotic creation. The opening rush of crisp citrus and blackcurrant is sparkling and almost icy, like cold mountain air hitting your face. Then the green tea note starts to rise, adding this smooth, slightly bitter freshness that pulls you in deeper. What makes it addictive is the way it balances clean and sharp with soft and fluid. There is a metallic, almost mineral shimmer that gives it a unique edge, while the musk and tea give it this serene, flowing calm. It feels like standing beside a cold river in the Alps, pure, refreshing, and endless. The dry down is where it hooks me. Clean musk, lingering tea, and that faint fruity sparkle that never fully disappears. It keeps pulling me back to my wrist to smell it again and again. For me, this is Creed’s masterpiece: elegant, unique, and utterly mesmerizing.

Silver Mountain Water is a fragrance I’ve always enjoyed but never bought, mainly due to countless other peoples’ recommendation not to due to the weak performance. I’m so incredibly glad I finally chose to ignore that advice, for this truly is one of the greatest summer scents ever made in my opinion. This juicy citrus and blackcurrant, resting on a bed of soft woods, dry tea and that iconic creed ambergris, was birthed from the mind of the incredible Pierre Bourdon. This composition was actually a rejected bid for an Issey Miyake brief, before it’s potential was realised (and therefore published without credit to Bourdon) by Olivier Creed. Yes the performance isn’t great, but you cannot live your life expecting 8+ hours from citrus scents. It lasts long enough on me and the current batches are absolutely divine, this is easily one of my favourite Creed fragrances for sure.

The ONLY cologne scent I've ever rated 11/10. Picture a refined white musk and refreshing green tea smoothly dancing together. There are quiet citrus fruits, calm florals, and sandalwood as supporting characters but blended to perfection you don't notice them individually. I'm not a big shot on here, but this scent is uplifting and luxurious. It doesn't get hype, and good (it keeps prices down). I bought my 100ml new for $199 from 3rd party site. If I had to pay full retail price, I'd likely rate this lower. Thankfully where I live it's hot as balls every day and I get the most out of this cologne's projection. I love fresher scents and this is a warm refined take I'm so glad to own. Scent: 11/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 - 2-3 hours

Actually smells like its name. I adore the scent, it's incredible, ethereal even.. I feel better everytime I smell it from the cap. The smell is a 11/10, God damn. That being said, 6/10 longevity and 6/10 projection on a good day. You can literally get Sillage and have the good performance you want from SMW, because in the air they are so so so much alike. Don't be fooled by snobs who say that it's a synthetic mess. You can just get a 50ml bottle of the OG if you are grateful for the smell and the creation of this beauty... and then just spray Sillage in the heat like a mf, just like I do. It's just a shame that you have dogshit performance when you pay this money, and I have an F batch.

this is the greatest freshy to ever be made and arguably the easiest fragrance to wear, as a gym scent it’s a 10/10, as an everyday scent it’s a 10/10, u can even go out and wear it bc it has really good projection, for me i get a mandarin opening with a hint of plum and a bunch of rosy musk at the drydown, it has a little bit of a metallic smell which isn’t bad, if u hate the basic “men’s fragrance” smell ur gonna love this one it doesn’t have the overly harsh and spicy notes that most male fragrances have and that’s what makes it shine, it’s clean fresh and inviting 10/10 i recommend u get afnan not only in heaven it’s the best dupe to it and arguably even better.

The most complimented perfume in my collection. Maybe I got the right skin chemistry to synergize the most out of the scent; it also lasts and radiates plenty from spraying on clothes. Airy has a slight resemblance to baby wipes during the first 15 minutes, but transcends into a green tea, musky, woody, and slightly powdery scent very quickly. Lasts 5-6 hours on skin, and 7-8 hours on clothes, leans masculine. Has this strong vibe of the Alps during late spring when the snow has melted, and all you can see are green meadows. Incredibly high quality, but individual skin perfumomance is something that needs to be accounted for, especially for this price point.

Being my first niche fragrance, this is some of the best scent ive ever smelled, its so easy to wear and it feels so fresh straight out of shower feeling and relaxing scent. But for this crazy ass price and the shitty ass performance, im never buying a second bottle of this. Even tho i love this scent so much but i just cant bare the fact that i smelled like nothing right after i leave my house (im in the south of vietnam). The only time this fragrance performs good its when i just taken a shower and then apply some of it for that extra comfort and freshness, so literally the only place i can put this fragrance to use is my bedroom.

I join the chorus of praises for this remarkable scent. A spring day high in the Alps next to a rushing stream. It is so well crafted that it is hard to pick out the notes, and I prefer not to - it isn't bergamot, green tea, marine, silvery metal, and white musk, it is a mood, an attitude, an evocation. Silver Mountain Water makes me want to spin through a high meadow, arms stretched out, and burst into song as I crest the hill. Added later - Luca Turin (coauthor of the turgid and pretentious "Perfumes: the A-Z guide) hates Silver Mountain Water (and misquotes the price). This alone is reason enough to buy it. :-)

If anyone has read or seen the movie "The Perfume" might remember the part where Master Baldini smells the perfume that Grenouille had created for him when they first met. He opens the bottle, smells the aroma, and suddenly everything around him is transformed into a beautiful flower garden, then a woman slowly approaches him and says to his ear: "I love you" This is one of the few perfumes that when I first smelled it literally made me feel that way... For a few seconds I thought I was in heaven. Beyond notes, duration, longevity or sillage, this perfume is just wonderful. My all time favorite.

This is HEAVENLY!!! Fruity berries, with musk behind and you get the hint of tea too! Simply stunning, spellbinding freshness... Definitely evokes the fresh mountain stream. I was reluctant to blind buy as I'd read reviews that it was a disappointing effort from Creed... And similar to Himalaya (which it really isn't) My personal taste says this is my favourite from the house and I must have it! Just reaffirms in my mind that you should always try a fragrance (of course) and that there's no accounting for taste. One thing I've learned is that Creed is synonymous with quality.

My favorite fragrance. It doesn't smell like a typical masculine fresh scent, which is good. It's more refined and delicate, more beautiful and soft. But unfortunately, I found it didn't last long enough. You need to carry a small bottle with you and reapply it throughout the day. You expect reliability and confidence from such an expensive fragrance, but instead you get anxiety that the scent will quickly fade and won't be noticeable when you need it. But after applying it, you will make a wow effect on the people around you and receive many compliments.

Can’t get enough of this one here... This fragrance transitions so smoothly. Bright citrus at the top, going into the tea, and musky woody base. Just a very fresh, and relaxing/soothing scent. I’m so in love with it, I wear it year-round lol, but it works best in spring/summer. Only downside to this fragrance is longevity... 6 hours max! Creed has been slacking with this in most of their fragrances(hopefully that changes soon). With that price point, you should expect it to be long lasting...Aside from that it’s still masterpiece IMO. 10/10

Tried SMW at NDSTM and loved it. Went camping at an alpine lake later that year. Canoed over to the mouth of a glacial runoff stream and got hit by this noticeably colder draft of air and I said "holy shit that smells like silver mountain water". No joke it was this mineralic slightly sweet floral/minty smell. SMW shares those characteristics but with some added smooth Creed musk. Smells a bit like a sister fragrance to Millesieme Imperial. So far my tester has pretty terrible performance - hoping it improves like my bottle of Millesieme.

I received this bottle as a gift a few years ago. At the time, I was not quite fond of the scent profile; it reminded me of a flatter version of Sean John’s Unforgivable, and the atomizer was not that great. However fast forward to present day, I have come to fall in love with this juice. It’s so refreshing, perfect for errands or a daytime gym fragrance. It reminds me of fresh water flowing in the lake and camping by mountain creeks. Not suitable for any time other than summer and spring.
