Virgin Island Water 2007

One of my favourites out of nearly 500 in my collection. I bought one bottle in summer this year and loved it, and hence I bought another two on the back of that scent, still the same version, not the 2025 label. When those two arrived, they smelled fresher and more citrussy, although I still get the same notes in both, the first one was just more spicy, a bit peppery even, slightly darker juice and better to my nose as it added this spicy note that makes it more intriguing (it is definitely more ginger amped up) while still maintaining the objective of being that tropical beach fragrance. It may have been that the first one was just a bit older and we are only talking a few months but I like them so much I bought another five bottles as I received a great deal from the place I bought them. I hope these change to become more like the original that I bought, but either way I love this fragrance. I live in a hot country so I can wear this year round and it only lasts 2 hours on my skin so I do 40 sprays all over and it gets the job done before reapplying 2 hours later. Everyone seems to notice it up close and I just can't stop sniffing my sleeve every few minutes. Stunning Creed, weak juice, but still in my top 5. Edit: I just checked the batch code on the underside of the first bottle I bought with checkfresh (I normally do check them all but clearly not on that occasion) and it checks out at over 4 years old. Comparing that to the other ones I bought recently - which are all between 4 and 6 months - That may explain the difference. At the rate I'm using this stuff I'll buy another few more and let them sit and they should hopefully develop further. Like I said before, I love them and the years clearly make a big difference.

The go-to men's beach fragrance. You great fresh coconut, lime, orange, rum, but it somehow avoids all the pitfalls of that tropical beach accord: it contains a touch of woods so it is still masculine and classy smelling, it isn't too sweet, the performance is as good as you can get given the fact that the heart of the fragrance is mostly top notes. It's the only men's fragrance I like with a prominent coconut note, so if you don't like coconut fragrances, I wouldn't write it off just yet, maybe go to your closest Saks Fifth and try it on a tester strip. It's very easy for this type of fragrance to fall into smelling like a piña colada body feminine spray from Bath and Body Works, but it isn't that at all. One spray and you are instantly transported to a high-end, Caribbean beach bar cooling off with wicker ceiling fans; flooded with the sounds of cocktail shakers and crashing waves. It takes its biggest hit with price and versatility. $377 is a a high price to pay for a scent that only really works at a beach. Some people think that Tommy Bahama St. Barts is a clone of this, but the two don't smell like each other at all. Simone Andreoli Malibu Party in the Bay does smell pretty close, but has less coconut and is also expensive. Best best is to get a 5ml decant of this and stick it in your luggage whenever you go to the beach.

I am so easily swayed by the romanticization of everything Caribbean, so when I heard that "this is Piña Colada in a bottle" - I opened my wallet and my Creed virginity was deflowered. And man is this delicious. If I close my eyes I can actually feel the warm sand between my toes. I feel like a fragrance like this could easily become a bit tacky and cliché (and smell cheap). But not this one. This one is done just right. The coconut is so light and fresh, just out of its shell. Not a trace of suntanlotion or baked cookies at all. The lime is crisp and green, freshly squeezed and aromatic. It just feels so... Luxurious (well, for that pricetag it ought to be, lol) I just imagine myself on a boat, wearing a nautical themed pashmina afghan that billows in the Caribbean breeze. And smelling like this. (There is also something in here that makes me think of the scent of warm wood inside of a sauna, perhaps combined with a lemongrass aromaoil? Lol)

❤️🤔 Love this scent, First I got a sample of VIW from another site and used it on and off for a year and still liked it. So I told my wife, so she got a bottle from a known site that advertises Retail but sent us a tester bottle. The opening smelled chemical some people say nail polish remover and nothing from what I was used to. So she ordered from a luxury department store and this is the smell I was used to. I sprayed them both at the exact same time and the initial smell couldn't be more different. Observed them hours later the tester bottle the scent was less and less chemical and very mildly similar to the scent I'm used to, while the luxury store bought one held strong. 20 hrs later the VIW from the luxury store still smelled sweet and present while the tester bottle smelled as if it were watered down and very faint. So when people say Testers are the same, I don't trust it in this case. Unless you have them both to test against.

As far as summer perfumes go, this is about the best you can get your hands on. I've tried the imitators but none of them match up to it's quality. VIW is a summer holiday in a bottle! This is one of those perfumes that I sometimes just use for therapeutic reasons. Just one spray on my hand makes me go "Ahhhhh!" - It really does take you away from the humdrum of life and your situation, to a sunny beach in the tropics with palm trees and a Pina Colada in your hand. I think therapists should add this to their list of treatments! As for the people who say it disappears after 5 minutes or so - it doesn't. You've just gone none blind to it temporarily, others can smell it on you believe me, especially with extra sprays. However, I do admit that longevity on this one isn't as good as it used to be. Easy fix though - just top up and you're good!

This is the absolute zenith of what I think a "Beach Fragrance" is, probably my favourite Creed I've tried at this point, it opens with a very fresh and smooth coconut with a sweet and slightly zingy lime that lasts for a while into the opening the fragrance, after it settles down, smooth florals start to come out and a slight bitterness from the Ylang-ylang is barely detectable in the back, that being said that coconut on my skin stays for quite a while into the fragrance, with the Lime fading quickly after the opening but still barely there for around as long as the coconut is, definitely mass appealing and unisex (albeit slightly masculine in my opinion), good for summer and spring days and nights, good for casual settings but I can also see a use case for formal occasions. Final Verdict for me is an 8.5/10

I’ve had a sample for a year and it has always been just coconut and lime, which I loved. I finally got a bottle and after wearing it for the first time, being able to spray much more than I did with the sample, I realized that there is much more going on. The sugar cane is really accentuated on my skin. It opens with a blast of sharp lime balanced by a creamy, warm coconut, but then dries into a sugary, slightly boozy, creamy floral and coconut fragrance. This transports me to an island vacation and is perfect for a summer day. The longevity is horrible but on a vacation day in the water, it’s going to wash off quickly anyways so that’s not a problem for me. This is beautiful, I would rate it a 9/10 and would highly recommend for a summer day fragrance if you’re looking for one.

Virgin Island Water is a 10/10 scent for me. As others have said, longevity is not great. It becomes quite difficult for me to detect by the 6 hour mark. Longevity is often a consideration of mine when it comes to purchasing a full bottle. There have been exceptions though - and this is one of them. I just love this juice that much. Even knowing the longevity was poor, I still went for a bottle with no regrets. I think this is the perfect coconut fragrance. A summer superstar. Some people claim it is difficult to pull off, or too situational, due to the heavy "holiday" vibes. I personally think you can wear this whenever you want, particularly when it is extremely hot (Australia here, so that's sorted on my end). Not for formal settings though.

You can hate on Creed all you want, but you cannot escape from the fact that in terms of number of unique, different, yet mass appealing DNA's, there's few houses that can beat them - SMW, GIT, Royal Oud, BdP, Royal Water, Aventus, Viking... This one belongs in the very best of the house - rum, coconut, sugar, Musk, citrus - a freshie that isn't just either citrus dominant, or floral dominant. Oozes pure class. Like a champagne brunch in the tropics. And again, hate on them for their prices and longevity but the ingredients smell so natural and so well blended, it just puts a smile on your face each time. Are they high priced? Yes. Are they weak on longevity for some of their scents? Yes. Can we deny the craft, though? No. 10/10

And absolute masterpiece. No other summer fragrance compares. The coconut, lime, and rum blend seamlessly into a wonderful experience. Wanted a bottle for years after first smelling it in 2019. Well, today I am the proud owner of a full 100ml bottle!!!🥳 people say it has poor performance. Probably true if you are looking for a beast, but this isnot built for beast mode. This is a light, airy, hot summer day fragrance that greets you periodically throughout the day. It lasts a few days on clothes, and about 6 hours on skin. There is not another coconut fragrance out there that compares to this as far as summer frags go. A nice winter coconut fragrance imo is fan Your Flames from nishane. Another coconut masterpiece

My favourite summer fragrance and for a good reason. Smells so clean and fresh with a strong lime and coconut smell. When you first spray it on (based on which batch) you either get lime or coconut first, for me it usually has been lime. Smells like a really sweet lime with a hint of coconut under, reminds me of a pina colada. When it dries down it get more coconutty and the ginger comes out a little also. Best smelling CREED in my opinion. Longevity is around 4-5 hours on my skin and its pretty close body, almost arms length on silleage. But this smells so great i would still buy it if it only lasted an hour. Try in high heat or at the beach. Masterpiece.

Tropical heaven! We're not all coconut haters, thank god... Love this fragrance. Tested 11 Creed fragrances today and this was the only one that screamed "buy me!!". And so I did. Can't stop sniffing my wrist for hours now as it gets better and better during the drydown. Envisioning a great happy tropical island: really love how a fragrance can draw a picture. And what a colourful picture this is! It puts a smile on my face... All the notes blend smoothly and I really don't get the coco overdose that others seem to get. But hey: coco was what I was after in the first place, so it wouldn't have bothered me anyway. Now bring me a cocktail, James! 9/10

Discontinued? Only the 240ml and 490ml is available on the Creed website. I think we are seeing a redesign like the some of the other Creeds. Idk why this is the direction they wanna go because all the new bottles look cheap. They are simply inferior from a design standpoint. I own around 235 fragrance samples, (most niche) and Creed Virgin Island Water is the only that truly WOWed me MUST HAVE! YES the performance is abysmal, especially for the price, but the scent is just that beautiful So I just purchased VIW to make sure I get the “old” design. And I think I got one of the two last ones on Notino (Europe) Creed Just Stop The Redesigns!!!!!

In the opening, it smelt oddly like bug spray... but 15 seconds later, it changed. And it blew my mind. Smells exactly like a tropical getaway, no problems, just relaxing by the beach sipping on a cocktail. Tropical island in a bottle. Fresh, fruity and a tad bit of rum. And that's what I love about the fragrance, you imagine you are in this amazing tropical area, makes you forget all your problems. Only downside is the longevity. It varies from batch to batch but for the most part it is the same, 4-6 hours, 8 if you have a lucky batch. 9/10, masterpiece from Creed.

Went to a shop a few months ago and smelled a bunch of Creed fragrances and this one was the best by far. The notes perfectly describe the fragrance, beginning with a smooth lime, and a sweet coconut lingers as well. As it dries down the scent becomes more sweet and you get that sugar cane and rum, evoking the feeling that you're on a vacation in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the longevity and sillage weren't great for me, becoming a skin scent within an hour maybe. Even if it did last long, it doesn't justify the price whatsoever. Still an amazing and unique scent

Sensational stuff. Opens with a burst of lime, then quickly develops into this realistic coconut scent. And whilst the coconut is front and center here, what really impressed me was how it's rounded out by notes of rum and sugar cane. It just gives the fragrance that extra bit of character to really make it stand out. I imagine the name is probably a marketing nightmare given the current climate. But if Creed re-released this with a new name and better longevity, I think it would become an even bigger success for them.

This stuff is GORGEOUS. Amazing, sunscreen-y coconut with a fresh lime squeezed all over it. I immediately get brought back to Caribbean vacations on a cruise ship and tropical hotel resorts. Amazing scent, the only problem is I can’t see where else I would wear it outside of those said tropical resorts. Dogshit versatility unless you just scream “tropical fun party” and wear Hawaiian shirts and sandals all day. I would buy a full bottle if I went on vacation on a weekly basis, but sadly that’s not the case. 9/10

I had 10ml sample like 3 years ago and i finally get full bottle last year. Its smells exactly same as my previous sample. This is my holy grail fragrance as a coconut and tropical scents lover. 100% worth the price. Beautiful blend, amazing feelings, one of the best smells i ever experienced. Not too citrusy, not too sweet, not too fresh and fizzy, great blance - natural summery vibes. Its very hard to dupe. Longevity is 4-5 hours on me. People say it stays like 1 hour, but no. Am happy with 4 hours. 10/10.

Absolutely stunning summer fragrance! To me this is my favorite summer fragrance, it opens up very citrusy with a very juicy lime note, and, unlike other coconut fragrances, the coconut here is very smooth and shiny, when it dries down, to me it smells like a sparkling soda with a refreshing dose of coconut and citruses, it is not the longest lasting fragrance but for me it lasts around 5-6 hours on skin and 8+ on clothes, but that’s perfectly fine, the smell makes up for it, and you can always reapply

Amazing opening. I love the citrus. It has a creamy lime/lemon quality. Chanel Allure Home Edition Blanche comes to mind with the creamy citrus comination. The coconut is more prominent as it dries down and the citrus fades considerably. Amazing summer scent. Protection is moderate/intimate. Longevity seems around 5 hours. The fragrance smells like it's very high quality. Creed is overpriced but I got 500ml for £255 which makes this very affordable and something I can go heavy on and reapply.

Lasts way longer than people give it credit for. The real star of the show here definitely is the very natural smelling lime. Once it fades away a bit, the coconut mixed with some sweetness comes through; the lime tends to linger around for quite some time after the initial blast however. For me personally, this is a 10/10 fragrance. The scent might not have the best versatility, but I haven't smelled anything else that does the tropical niche as well as this perfume.

Summer in a bottle. Bright & effervescent in the initial spray, loads of lime against a background of photorealistic coconut (not sunscreen), and slightly soapy bergamot. Hints of rum as it settles, but not too boozy. Becomes sweeter in the dry down, fading to a musky skin scent. I don’t get any of the mid notes, but it doesn’t need them. Projection is moderate tending quiet, but longevity is awful (approx. 2 hours). Beautiful, but ridiculously overpriced.

This has such an awesome limey opening, instant mood boost to tropical bliss for all but half an hour. This would be an easy 10 if this projected a little more but past 30 minutes this is just a sweet coconut skin scent for 6 hours or so. Crab Apple Blossom I think captures that magical limey opening better but is unfortunately more expensive but the coconut in Virgin Island is to be appreciated for sure, a little disappointed tho

I really wish I had an older batch of this, as I heard they perform better. The batch I have still to this day doesn't last more than 1-2 hrs, even after maceration for 2 years. One of my favorite scents. There are still some better-performing creeds out there, but since black rock bought them out, the house just isn't the same. I'm considering re-trying this house with the kering move, I'll have to sample some newer batches.

Very similar to the original Creed Aventus, but with a coconut note. A soft, delicate, citrusy, and musky fragrance. Very pleasant. It might seem a bit feminine. Perfect for warm weather and summer. It also works great for spring and even autumn. Due to the coconut, it may feel a bit casual, but the musk and citrus notes also stand out, so I can confidently say this is a versatile, fresh fragrance that everyone will enjoy.

Opens with lime, coconut and rum, then it dries down to creamy coconut sunscreen. Rum note is noticeable throughout all phases. Especially opening smells like a tropical alcohol drink. One of the best summer fragrances in my opinion, smells heavenly. Also, it is easily unisex, it doesn’t lean feminine or masculine in my opinion. A lot of troll comments on every single fragrance page, some people need to get a life.

I wish this cost $75 instead of $250. It has something beautiful and fresh about it. It’s tropical, crisp and wonderful. Lime, coconut and rum balanced. I love the dry down. Man it’s nice. I won’t ever buy a bottle though because the citrus scents disappear so fast (including this one). It’s gone, not even a skin scent, after a few hours. I haven’t found a decent dupe either. I will keep searching...

Very fresh and bright citrus opener which is something I'm always after. After it dries down, the citrus fades away ( as citrus always does :/ ), and the coconut comes through which adds a slight sweetness to the skin. There's a wonderful booziness because of the white rum, sugar cane, and musk. I am picturing white linen shirts, mojitos, and sailing in the Mediterranean. This fragrance is so unisex

To me, this is more fresh than sweet and I think it smells nothing like Miami from city rhythm. It’s a very good sense that just doesn’t last that long. It’s one of those things where I’ve always wanted to buy a bottle, but I never will just cause of the performance and because of that I’ll just keep smelling this perfume at Nordstrom and never get a bottle definitely good though.

The scent itself is amazing, it’s like a really nice creamy fresh coconut scent. It’s very zesty, but you can definitely tell that it’s masculine. I have always loved coconut, but this is next level. The smell 11/10 Longevity 3/10 Silage 4/10 after 20 min just a skin scent. Almost all creeds turn into skinscents... they are amazing at making parfumes but they don’t last

Opens up with a very sharp citrus profile. On paper that will stick around, however on my skin the coconut and sweetness really comes out to play. I really like this as a mild summer fragrance. Its not beast mode or wont project unless you go wild with 8+ sprays however when your person come's close they will want to come even closer. Love this stuff.

Virgin island water is so expensive and it doesn’t even last but I do like this scent it’s prefect for the summer however I wouldn’t paid that high price for this. Creed is one of those niche brands that is very popular and they made their perfumes with the highest quality oils I have other dupes that are so much better and last longer

I'm reviewing the Noted Aromas dupe of this (called 'St Thomas'), which is gorgeous. It's summer in a bottle: zingy lime, airy coconut, and sugared rum. Instantly uplifting, a real good mood fragrance. I'm also pleased to say that it has good sillage and longevity for a replica frag. Will be buying a bigger bottle!

Absolute gem. I am glad that this is one of the few creeds that nobody talks about because I get to keep this sexy coconut citrus holiday fragrance all to myself and nobody has smelt anything like it before, only thing in my collection that comes close in this category is paradise garden 9/10 warm weather fragrance

Just a comment: To the people complaining about the price of this fragrance, and why it's not cheaper. Are there any good dupes out on the market? No. The reason why you haven't seen a good dupe of this is because it's hard to copy a masterpiece. This is the pinnacle of summer vacation scents❤️

A perfect cocktail for holidays! The lime is very strong in the beginning then the coconut + rum+ sugar gets stronger I love it my fav coconut scent!! Very beachy summery solar ! A vacation in a bottle I love the ylang is not that strong it doesn’t turn into sunscreen for a coconut scent

Amazing dumb reach scent for summer, wear it around the house, going out, its versatile and very likable. Fucking love this fragrance, I'm sad I can't wear it much in winter. Many compliments from friends, its got really good projection but the longevity isn't great - thats the tradeoff.

Jasmine and coconut and signature creed ambergris DNA. This stuff is a beautiful girl who has a lovely disposition. You almost wana cry looking at her because she gets your heart racing. You wana see her wake up in the morning. Gorgeous to say the least. Lasts for a week on clothes.

I owned this fragrance in my later university years about 11 years ago or so. In one simple phrase to explain this perfume, this a beautiful girl who is more exuberant than the moon can shine. Absolutely stunning coconut Desi Jasmine combo here. So so so pretty. Fills my heart.

This is like a mixture between Le Beau Le Parfum and PDM Sedley because of the lime and coconut notes. It's amazing for the first 5-10 minutes, but then it simply fades away. What could be a 10/10 scent is only a 7/10 due to its poor longevity. Creed pls fix.

Testing my sample; this is a smooth piña colada, very fresh and cool. Stays fairly linear, a touch sweeter as it dries down. Very strong projection off my skin, two sprays in the inner elbow left a trail. Perfect for summer and definitely full bottle worthy.

Interesting that people says its only lasts for 30 minutes or so. For me longevity its amazing, I even able to detect it at the next day, which is very unusual from a Creed perfume. Also the scent is very pleasant very sweet tropical fruity coconut.

update i got a 2008 batch on my hands. im not disappointed, but i think the rum is more apparent than i wouldve liked in the opening. the drydown is where its at tho. beautiful beautiful scent that everybody knows and loves, lime and sugar. 9.5/10

ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL. the best fragrance ever produced in my opinion. i dont care if the performance is mid ill overspray this as much as i want to and buy as many bottles because when the scent is this amazing it doesnt even matter anymore

Smells super tropical, as you could expect. It’s quite coconutty and has a tartness from the lime and rum, just such an amazing smell. Longevity sucks though, put some on before a 2 hour flight and it wasn’t even a skin scent when I landed

This one is all about the coconut and lime. They are blended to perfection along with the other notes that hang out in the background, but let the two main characters always stand out. To me, it's the definition of "Summer in a Bottle."

there was a second where i absolutely adored its freshness but then my brain went to luxury resort toilet? and then my nose went completely blind to it. update: OH i think it smells like my old tuition centre. i really like it though?

sorry to sound like a broken record, but this the freshest scent on the market. this in the summertime is purely unbeatable. i'm a diehard for this fragrance, but $500 for a bottle is psychopathically obscene. i can only dream.

I typically do not wear fresh scents but this one is absolutely amazing and I can’t get enough of it. I definitely recommend it. The coconut and the lime with a touch of sweetness comes through. It’s just totally amazing.
