Bourbon & Oak

This is my fourth purchase from the Cremo line, and the statement I read echoing w most Cremo reviews is "never fail to impress, or Cremo does it again". I'm beginning to think this may hold true w all of their fragrances. Cuz this one is absolutely AMAZING! I'd have to say out of the 4 I have Spice & Black Vanilla, Vintage Suede, Distiller's Blend and Bourbon & Oak this one ranks 2nd tied w S&BV. 1st is definitely VS fourth DB. I also found mixing DB with S&BV in a decant makes for a definite 5 out of 5 juice. Anyway back to Bourbon & Oak, this is stuff is so vanilla soft, I'm getting but a hint of the Bourbon & Oak. Even tho vanilla is not listed as a note, it is very pronounced in this frag. I was a bit apprehensive to purchase onl because I've been getting a lot of people mention how blatantly boozy this comes off. Especially when that outrageously frank "#CubaKnow" reviewed it. I never want to smell like one of my step-dads confronting me early in the a.m. hrs. as I tried to sneak back inside from an unauthorized night out in h.school. But to my nose the Bourbon is the opening act and the vanilla and special guest Oak are the headliners to this Cremo duet. Blind buy worthy? Absolutely, as well as the 3 other aforementioned scents in the Cremo line up. You won't be disappointed w any of them. Unless the Cremo bottle and name is too under the radar (regardless how remarkable it is) for you. And doesn't fit ur boojie bottle collection and standardized potion price🤑🙄, then this house isn't for you, the kind who quenches their self worth on high end💎💰💸 brand named everything's in hopes of a nod😏 of approval from those one rung higher than them on the social ladder🤷♂️🤦. Did I go off topic? And for a reason.....🤔

Recently got turned on to CREMO. Mostly because of the beard products and I have an epic beard so... Anyway, @fragrantica #fragrantica needs to seriously work on getting all of the CREMO frags in the database. It takes them so long to update the database when you put in the missing fragrances in the forum. The smell of this one is very manly. This smells so damn good I am amazed that I never really heard much about their frag line. I started out with Distiller's Blend #13 and was just blown away. Then I snagged myself a Palo Santo and a Bourbon and Oak. These are all in their own league. The kind of scents that I had always wanted but never found. I was so impressed I went ahead and got the body wash and deodorant and beard products of the same scent. If you haven't tried CREMO yet...stop goofing off and get some. There is nothing like it. Some are made to last 2-3hours and others have 6-8hours longevity. That isn't a bad thing. Most events or meeting will be a few hours so then you can apply something else for another occasion. Sometimes you want one to last 8 hours-ish and Distillers Blend will get that mark. I spray slightly heavy so today I was sporting Bourbon and Oak for about 7 hours. For as good as these smell and the price they come at... it is all worth it to me. CREMO = A+

This is a fantastic scent for the price (~$22). It's certainly smells better than many more expensive colognes I own. It says a whisky note, but it's a strong, sweet Bourbon whisky note- that's a key (Scotch vs. Bourbon). Also, the dry oak is very prominent as well with a vanilla blast at the end. It's very nice- I always get compliments when I wear it, though I have to put a lot of it on. Yet, with it being so cheap, I can afford to go through a bottle rather quickly. I tend not to see colognes as "seasonal", but situational. So, I don't think of this as a "fall" or cold weather cologne. It's a rich cologne, so it's not for everyday use per se. I've worn it to work (in education), and it seems to be fine. It's more a well-dressed, business-casual cologne, such as when you wear jeans, a white dress shirt, and a tan sport coat for meeting someone at a sophisticated place or for drinks in an oak-paneled bar. That's what I get from the smell. This an excellent cologne I'd recommend to anyone.

Differences between Cremo's Bourbon & Oak and Bourbon Vanilla, top notes: B&V has more distiller's nuances upon initial spray that lingers until the vanilla emerges. In B&Oak, the smokier oak wood is present through beginning to end. Some were saying these are the same. I am wearing both simultaneously and they are definitely not the same fragrance. Bourbon & Vanilla on my right hand. Bourbon & Oak on my left hand. While both have a boozy quality, the Bourbon & Oak is a truer representation of an aged whiskey in a sniff glass waiting to be consumed. On dry down, Bourbon & Vanilla is slightly sweeter. These both make good gifts to anyone with an appreciation for bourbon. Those saying this is similar to Zara's Tobacco Collection, Fresh Spicy, Rich Warm & Addictive, etc. I find on me, they lean a bit more gourmand. This reminds me more of Bvlgari Man in Black's boozy notes. Not super sweet. Both are good, but I am favoring Bourbon & Oak as it seems to have more depth.

My first actual fragrance I bought with my own money. I was looking for something warm and cozy, that came across mature and masculine at the same time, especially with how the winter season was coming up. So I did my research, came across this masterpiece. I was skeptical at first, due to the unknown of never hearing the brand 'Cremo' before. But I took the gamble and blind bought it. 8.5/10 I hit the nail on the head. A cozy, mature, boozy scent with that strong wooded base, topped with those underlying spices just sing to your nose like an 'a Capella'. I strongly recommend for the colder environments as it can project a decent amount and you might end up cloying the scent profile if the weather is too humid and warm, and nobody wants that. Longevity? for me personally, I find it lasts a long time. I could still smell it on me after a days of work and was quite impressed with how the dry down stayed consistent throughout with that gorgeous woody booziness.

Now here we have something called CREMO brand Bourbon and Oak And I will be the first one to review this stuff here and let me say man this stuff is good it's really good.... Seems like this is a line from the Target company... I ended up purchasing four of their varieties for about $23 a piece..This falls in line with a lot of the boozy type smells but let me tell you this is such a natural smelling Bourbon and oak essence that it made me smile... it's beautiful smelling!!! It is an eau de toilette and it has a nice bottle shape and construction the sprayer is great this stuff is underrated underappreciated and obviously no one knows about it...So I thought I'd put my two cents in on it I'd say this is an 8.5 out of 10 and strength and Longevity is a good 8.0 Happy Spring and happy Mother's Day to all.....ciao

I bought Cremo Bourbon & Oak EDT from Target to just try it out because it was so inexpensive and I like a couple of their body wash products. After spraying it on the very 1st time I immediately thought to myself that I have smelled this before. Since I own several boozy fragrances it took me a while to figure it out. Finally I found the answer. Carolina Herrera CH Men Prive is almost the exact same scent. I love CH Men Prive so this Cremo product is a winner in my book and it costs about half of what I paid for Prive. Now Prive has a much nicer bottle that resembles a whisky flask if you are into bottle design, but if you are soley concerned about smelling good I recommend Bourbon & Oak.

Simple yet addictive. Love the honesty of the name to the scent. My husband bought the beard oil and it was pure catnip to me I could not get enough and I let him know! He eventually moved on to the shower set and years later I can’t find a cologne I like more on him so bought him the EDT from Amazon. Ugh I can’t get enough. It performs like an EDT the sillage is moderate for most the day but after work it’s more intimate. I’ve been searching for a scent he likes that attracts me but doesn’t trigger scent memory of anyone else and actually feel territorial against males that dare wear a similar scent. I love the intimacy of the scent.

This is my 3rd acquisition from Cremo and I continue to be impressed by the quality of their fragrances. I have Reserve Blend Palo Santo, Spice & Black Vanilla and now this and I'm just blown away by these fragrances. For the price, you really cannot beat them. This smells sexy, boozy, woody, spicy and smooth. You could take this juice, put it in a fancy bottle with $100 price tag and the reviewers would be hailing it as the next hype beast fragrance. Just excellent stuff!

Very warm and spicy on the dry down I get a vanilla note that's not listed but it's definitely there at least to my nose ! This scent is strong and projects well for the first couple of hours the dry down is very nice I don't get the booziness on the opening to the point where people would think you're drinking like some people said not at all. Definitely a scent women like and a compliment getter. Great for the cool weather.

Reading these Cremo reviews 5 years later... It seems like they put out an excellent product as per the amount of positivity for most of their fragrance line... which is about 8 or more at this point.... I'm going to buy the new one.. the leather one which has really good ratings as well and for 20 bucks who can complain?? anyway, nice to see everyone and their noses enjoying good fragrance no matter what price it is....CIAO!

Cheap and good. A competent stand-in for long discontinued CH Men Privé. Of course it smells a bit cheaper close to the skin and doesn't last as long - that's to be expected at this price point, but sillage in the air is indistinguishable. Gen Z's and A's probably won't care for this old school 'grandad' scent - but remember, your grandad had game enough to successfully complete the mission or else you wouldn't be here.

This is my first from the line of scents by Cremo. And I LOVE IT! My girlfriend loves it. The spice is noticeable right from the first spray. As it cools and dries, here comes the wood and bourbon. I don’t get any vanilla I see in the other reviews though. It lasts a very long time. I think all the scents by Cremo do. I have 2 other scents and itching to buy the others. I highly recommend this scent.

Burbon Boozy, oak woody, modern clean, slightly synthetic and just beautiful......Woah this stuff smells similar to the rum within Replica Jazz club but less sophisticated and younger version. Also it is more POWERFUL and well-balanced than jazz club. But it has somewhat similar drydown it's insane. I kind of love this scent profile and the clean boozy woody outcome. Unique and masculine. Love this.

Boozy, woody, spicy, slightly sweet. Perfect fall and winter fragrence with fairly good performance, especially for the price. I think this is also great for all age ranges, smells mature but not in a way some would find off putting. Definitely pick it up if you're interested and you like boozy scents.

Sexy and seductive. Has a nice boozy smell that gives this scent some maturity along with a subtly sweet, creaminess that really draws people in. Performs well, I get about 6 hours on the skin with one spray. Great date-night fragrance and perfect for the wintertime. Can't beat the cost either.

Love these cheapy Cremo fragrances, if I had to pick my top 3 of what I have which not all are listed in fragantica, it would be Bourbon Vanilla, Bourbon & Oak, and Spice & Black Vanilla. The shampoo & shower gel for BV and B&O are incredible, to bad they don't have it for SBV.

Say whatever you want about the brand or the cheap price, this stuff is really good and I loooove it! The simple notes break down are on point. I enjoy this as much if not more than my more expensive designer and niche. Honest opinion.

Bought this at Target for like, $24, an absolute steal! I LOVED this scent. Sweet sexy, boozy whiskey! An absolute must-have if you like alcoholic drink notes.

Perfect for chilly fall days. I love all the Cremo scents, they have a class to them and they perform very well.

Smells like the shaving cream they put out. Doesn't stink, but smells just like the cream.

-Price and Scent: 9.3/10 Yeah you cannot beat this price. $20 on amazon! Very masculine frag, first opens somewhat lightly aromatic but spicy, quickly developing into a more bolder woody scent with that whiskey undertone (although Cremo goes mild with it 'which is ok!'). Stays in that woody and powdery scent for about an hour, and after that the booziness dies down a lot. Then it dries down into a woody (almost like a deep sandalwood) base. Very masculine for sure. -Sillage and Longevity: 7/10 This is definitely the only major weak point in this otherwise strongly appealing fragrance. As a more casual wear it can decently hold up, however at the gym (I know, maybe not the ideal gym frag 'but its is winter after all...') the longevity is... subpar. Lasted only about an hour after spraying and then it died down a whole lot (maybe only half a foot of projection). Does better in the non-gym setting however, lasting up to 4-5ish hours, however it sits close to skin after about 2 hours. Hour 1: 3 feet projection Hour 2: 2 feet projection Hour 3-5: 0.5 foot projection -Versatility: 9.5 (coming from a male) This is very interesting to me. Because of the weaker sillage and longevity, this fragrance is now more versatile. If the projection was more loud and more in-your-face, it would seem more unusual and too much in most settings. However, as a guy I would not find this fragrance unusual if, for instance, I smelled this on someone at the grocery store or any casual public setting like that. -Bottom Line and Overall: 8.9/10 Masculine, a warm woody, slightly boozy, and somewhat powdery fragrance that can easily be worn day and night in most fall or winter settings. Great price, would definitely recommend as blind buy to anyone who wants a cheap woody fall frag.

Ended up picking up for Cremo bottles because I had a gift card to Target and really did not expect to like them as much as I do. I own about 30 bottles and I'm not going to say these are my favorite in my collection but they are very nice for the money. Recently I've been wearing these when I'm just staying at home in my apartment. I was feeling bad about spraying expensive bottles to just sit at home, like trying to justify spraying a Creed when there's no possibility that anyone's going to smell it didn't make sense. But I do still enjoy wearing fragrance at home because it makes me feel cozy. These are perfect for that, they smell good and they only cost about 20 bucks for a 100 ml bottle. It's really hard to go wrong here and I would recommend basically any from this company. About bourbon enough specifically, it has a warm, cozy, slightly boozy feeling to it. It's not a powerhouse and it dies down pretty quickly. Spice and black vanilla is way more potent than this one. But if you're looking for a cozy skin scent at home this is not a bad choice.

Cremo Bourbon & Oak is very much like another Bourbon, that being the Bath & Body Works release. Both have similar notes though Bourbon & Oak is far more boozy in smell and less designer sweet than Bourbon. Cremo Bourbon & Oak is pretty straight forward in notes. A STRONG spice which is labeled as "destiller spices" on the packaging before going into the boozy whisky note which gives it a Wild Turkey feel. The base is entirely woody smelling like a whiskey barrel. Overall a pretty interesting considering it is a designer release. Bourbon & Oak isn't that great performance wise. It on me is moderate but it becomes a little unnoticable after three/four hours. I would say Bourbon & Oak could work in work, date and casual settings. It should work all seasons because it is it light enough. Overall Cremo Bourbon & Oak is an underated good scent. I just wish performance was a bit better. For this I rate it a 7.2 out of 10. Maybe I'm really forgiving because I got it for under $15 with the bodywash.

So I don't own "Bourbon & Oak" myself, but I do own Cremo's more recent release "Bourbon Vanilla". They appear to be very similar, with notes of spices, bourbon, and oak. "Bourbon Vanilla" just sweetens the mix by adding vanilla. You could almost call BV a flanker to B&O. "Bourbon & Oak" has *not* been discontinued or replaced, it's still sold through Amazon, Cremo's online store, and at Target. Bourbon Vanilla is exclusively sold at Walmart. Anyways, Fragrantica hasn't created a page for Bourbon Vanilla, so I want to comment on it here! I really like it. I feel like it's a versatile fall/winter scent. It's got a touch of freshness and spice that makes it appealing for daytime wear in professional settings for me. You can wear it on dates, but I would go with Cremo's "Spice and Black Vanilla" release in situations where you want to make that kind of impression. S&BV is very appealing, but also louder and more in your face, which is why I would reach for BV for more professional settings.

This fragrance is the embodiment of truth in advertising. When you spray this on, you get a blast of boozy bourbon. Right under that is the smell of dark, aged woods. If you've ever bought chunks of used whisky barrel for smoking meats etc., this fragrance is a pretty close facsimile. It's boozy, tangy, sweet wood (with a little powder in the background)-- just as the name implies. This is a sweet fragrance that still has a distinctly masculine edge to it. In terms of performance, meh, it's pretty average. That said, how often do I want to smell like a sweet-and-sour whisky barrel? Personally, not often. I only really wear this on chilly autumn nights when I am going to be outside for a length of time. To me, it is a great fragrance when you are braving the pensive winds of October/November nights under a darkening grey sky. Otherwise, I'd rather wear something else. This is not a bad fragrance at all, but, to me, it is very situational.

Man, I've had this for about a year now and I have come to really like this stuff. I personally like blue cedar & cypress and spice & black vanilla better, but this one is solid for sure. Some of the comments below are describing something totally different than what I get, so I'm not sure what gives. I know Spice and Black Vanilla seems to have batch variation, so perhaps this one has the same thing. However, I get exactly what the note breakdown says. A blast of bourbon-ish alcohol up top (this doesn't last too long), with a bit of spices sprinkled in. Then it dries down to a dry, powdery oak (which is definitely the predominant note). It kind of smells like you stuck your nose in a whiskey barrel. I definitely think it smells drier and more powdery in the air than on my skin. I get no sweetness and definitely no vanilla. It lasts 6 or 7 hours. Solid pick up for the price.

This is a fantastic everyday wear fragrance for the fall and winter months. The title of this fragrance does the scent justice. I do get hints of vanilla on the dry down. I'd wear this one casually in the fall and winter months. I don't think this is one you can dress up, given the bourbon/whiskey notes. It's warm and inviting and does yield a substantial amount of compliments. However, if I'm going out in the evening, I'm definitely going to reach for La Nuit D'lhomme or another top-shelf winter fragrance. While Bourbon & Oak is good, it cannot replace a designer quality scent. In summation, this is a very casual winter scent, great for a flannel/sweater/leather jacket. For the price, it's a great blind reach for smelling good in the cooler weather. You are likely to receive some compliments on this one. For $20, there's really not much to complain about

Less complex and more linear than the best of Cremo's line - Spice and Black Vanilla - but this lasts longer on my skin and is a really nice scent. The note breakdown oversimplifies, but those are effectively the accords I get: some tannic toasted woods, whiskey (not overly boozy), and spices that echo the notes in good bourbon such as cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, caramel. This is not a sweet fragrance. One benefit of this fragrance is its versatility, specifically for layering. I landed on a magical combination of this with Salvatore Ferragamo Signature Uomo, with Bourbon Oak offering woody sturdiness and a light boozy dusting to the beautiful coffee-tonka-leather core of Signature. I wear this combo on days when I am not in the mood for the full effect of Signature's sweeter almost-gourmand profile.

This isn't the best Cremo, but it definitely isn't the worst. I have a lot of Cremo fragrances (and sadly they're not all listed on Fragrantica) and they're all good and have their own uses. Their heavier cooler weather ones are probably the best. And this falls into that category. For the price, there's no reason to not buy it. It smells fantastic, performs well, and gets compliments. I wouldn't say it's "mass appealing" but it's not "challenging". It works great in cold weather, and I think on a wet cool day it fits nicely. In my opinion it could easily dress up or dress down.

Probably my fav of the cremos that I bought to test (bourbon & oak, spice & black vanilla, blue cedar & cypress, silver water & birch, heritage). I don't love (rather I like) this fragrance but that is because boozy fragrances aren't really my cup of tea. But, this fragrance is super enjoyable to me, and I also can't say that i'm surprised of the smell because the fragrance is pretty correctly named. Also, the cologne is 15-20 bucks so it is a safe blind buy even if you only use it once.

Smells Nice...I got lucky paid 18$ on ebay..This is my second time trying it and it fooled me my 1st time but Ok don’t let that initial sprays in the air fool you fam bc it is sort of a synthetic alcoholic boozy..BUT yo that dry down on skin it’s soothing .. its softer than i thought though not much sillage and not much oak at all ...last maybe 4-5 hrs ..my nose has some type of powder mixed with creamy vanilla at the base.Safe for cool days I give it 7/10.

This is a very likeable scent - it's on the sweet side and I could see it being a little unisex. Boozy vanilla with some woods on the light side. For me this is a powerhouse performer, I can easily be smelling it after hours, showers, and days later on fabric i've sprayed it on. Projects well, I even got it on sale for $12, and I'm very amazed, even after trying other cremo products, highly recommend.

Sophisticated and pleasant are two words coming to my mind as I reflect on this cologne. While the bourbon aspect of this cologne is somewhat difficult to discern, vanilla seems to become the dominant undertone... I simply wish the fragrance lasted longer. Overall: Sure, why not?

I don’t think this fragrance is bad but I expected more from this fragrance and if I had to rate this out of 10 i’d give this fragrance a 7.5/10. I should probably try the spice & black vanilla or the silver water & birch.

Nicely done. For the 4-5 hours of wear (a good 10 sprays) this isn’t bad at all for the price point. Moderate projection. Can definitely smell it after waking back into a room where you’ve sprayed it. Good for all seasons.

Reminds me of squaredance parties on autumn nights. I can feel the barn wood creak underfoot, I can smell the brisk night air through the rafters. I see the smiling faces all around, I hear the glittering lights above.

This is my husband's casual scent, but I have decided that I love wearing it in the fall and winter. It has just a hint of sweetness that makes it wearable for a woman. It is still masculine, but not on me.

Got this Fragrance for $14 dollars and honestly cannot complain for that low of a price. Super strong with a boozy scent that has grown on me. Solid for winter and easy to spray carelessly

Cheap, Smells good, don't buy if you don't like very sweet smelling fragrances. But great choice if you are looking for a cheap good smelling cologne.

It is an amazing fragrance... However, while this does smell great do not except it to last long. It will only last 2-3 hours max.

Classic boozy and sweet fragrance, this could work for you. Will appeal if you wear it around a younger audience.

This smells good, but it is simplistic and linear. It is very sweet - pretty sweet even on the opening, and sweetens up as it dries down. I suck at notes, so I don't know if it is vanilla or what, but it is strong. That is not bad, just depends on if you like that. I don't mind it, but I do prefer some of my more complex scents, where the spicy and woody components are a little more forward compared to the sweeter components, and maybe mixed with some flowery or citrusy notes. To me, at least on my skin, this has a gourmand-like feel versus a spicy/woody feel. But the bourbon and oak are still prominent, and are nice. It was worth the thirteen bucks, that's for sure. I kinda see this as a cooler weather scent, more of a night time scent - but to tell the truth, I pay little attention to that, and kinda just where whatever I fell like whenever. I mean, I will not think twice about wearing a dirty oud to the office. So what do I know.

For this price, it's a great pick up of you're looking for a woody/boozy scent. I wore this a few times this fall (~50 degrees). Projection is ~3 feet for the first 2 hours, then mellows to a close 1-2 feet for another 3-4 hours. I agree with those below that the booze lasts for only a couple of hours and then turns into a cedar/woody scent. Its mildly powdery and spicy. Its not as sweet as some make it to be. Particularly in comparing it to CH Men Prive, Prive is sweeter, has a leather scent as a base note. I own both CH Men prive and now Bourbon and Oak since they discontinued Prive :( Overall it gets 75% close to Prive imo. Prive lasts longer, sweeter, and a lot smoother. But for Bourbon and Oak's price point, it's a good buy. For those who love CH Men Prive like I do but don't wanna pay the ridiculous price now that it's discontinued, I layered Bourbon and Oak with Rochas Moustache EDP and it gets 90% close to Prive.

There are few fragrances more honest than ones by Cremo. The bottle says Bourbon and Oak. I spray said bottle. It smells of Bourbon and Oak. I can’t be mad, but it’s also very blunt. There’s no complexity here. It’s as if the phrase “it is what it is” was a fragrance. There are very limited times I’ve found myself wanting to wear this, mainly because I’m in Florida where it doesn’t go below 80 degrees most of the year. Unless you live in extreme cold, more often than not, you might want to steer clear of it. It does provide a good bathroom spray for guests, however. 5/10 Reason(s) it didn't score higher: Simplistic but intense scent profile might cause headaches; limited seasonal wearing

Not for me. It smells okay, the body wash is good(but probably not good for you). It’s the first cologne I have bought that smells “generic”. If you’re debating spice and black vanilla, or this, get spice and black vanilla.

this smells "like" ch men prive but doesnt smell as nearly as good and complex as it. spice and vanilla cremo over this

Bourbon & Oak is, IMO, a nuclear level, WMD fragrance that doesn't quit. Overspray at your own peril.

Smells good on its own but smells like ass if you sweat

Smelled this on someone and asked what it was. I was shocked he told me he purchased it at walmart for under $10 after a Christmas sale. Fast forward to now when just receiving it as a gift. This stuff smells amazing. Its not a scent that changes throughout the day. Its not even a scent that smells very unique, but man it does a good job of being a fall/winter fragrance. The notes all the way through remind me of a boozy and vanilla musk that has a mellow spicy end.. Nothing too strong or overpowering, which is nice. This is definitely a safe everyday office scent, but could also be worn on a date for more intimate settings. To me, its a crowd pleaser. I am usually not a fan of boozy scents or very warm musky notes, but this makes me feel warm and confident. Not sure about projection quite yet, but seems to be close to the skin, maybe arms length in first few hours. But that works for this fragrance. I dont think I would want it to be a beast in this area. This lasts on me all day. I can smell it the next day even. Its not super strong, but I dont think I want it to be. Overall for me is 9/10. EDIT: Something happened to this and it became extremely cloying, synthetic, and linear on me. I gave it away to a friend, I think he will appreciate it!
