Vintage Suede

Edit: I've had this one for almost 3 years and it just keeps getting better. After sitting on my shelf and only being used a few times I decided to try it out again. What a difference, it is so much smoother and richer now. It still is a bit sweeter than Ombre Leather but for $20!!! $20????!!! this is really outstanding. To me it's the perfect early spring fragrance. I prefer it for this season only but it can't be used for any colder weather and it'll be fantastic. It's not ultra masculine but it's great for men looking for an accessible leather or suede scent. I'm so glad I bought this Someone below said it best, if there was an Ombre Leather EDT, this would be it. It's a little more rough than OL, there's a hay note in the mix. It's not bad and it seems to help get the leather accord. Vintage Suede is slightly more masculine than OL. Sillage, projection, longevity are all good. So let's cut the crap. It's a $20 frag and we have to compare it to Ombre Leather. It's not a comparison by choice, it's a comparison because it smells that close. And Ombre Leather is arguably a masterpiece. Soooo $20 for something that smells like a masterpiece with no real shortcomings other than it isn't a 100% clone?... Good all year round, night or day, mostly masculine, probably 25+.

Hype is real on this one. It's similar to OL but different. Sweet, ambery, smooth leather. If you wanna get a feel for the Ombre Leather type of leather fragrances out there, this is a good intro. Not too heavy but the leather is prominent. This is work safe, it can be worn in the spring, cool weather, whatever. It's a versatile fragrance. For $20 its literally a no brainer if you like leather fragrances. I have TF Ombre Leather and its just more brash and has white florals and its a lot denser. This is lighter, airier, but a true leather fragrance on the drydown. It starts off sweeter and dries down to smooth ambery leather. I really like this. I didn't love it at first, it took a few times for me to get into it because it's not so much of a clone as it is inspired by OL, in my opinion. I feel like it stands on it's own and just has similarities to OL. It has an airiness to it, it seems almost like a leather fragrance made for the spring/fall- 50s and 60s seem like the perfect temp for this. Dunno, but I like it. Cremo's best, by a landslide. Buy this. Probably will be discontinued, eventually, like every good release these days.

In Canada, Cremo fragrances aren't the easiest to get but thankfully, I have friends who live here but are from the USA, so when they go home for visits, I always remind them about Cremo and they don't disappoint. I have all but two of the collection now and this is my latest addition along with Distiller's Blend. I wore this as my scent of the day today and dang, it's so freakin' great. My friends also got me the body wash, so I'm doubly blessed. It is similar to Ombre Leather, as others have stated but not quite the same. It also reminds me a lot of Goldfield & Banks' latest addition, Purple Suede but this is still doing it's own thing. It projected very well for the first three to four hours before it started to settle down but I was still smelling it well over 10 hours into the life of the fragrance. It leaves a fantastic trail and is intoxicating when you catch it in the air. This is now my 2nd favorite Cremo, just slightly behind Spice & Black Vanilla. Now, I'm only missing Leather & Oud, Citrus & Mint Leaf... hope my friends can find those for me one day so my collection will be complete.

Cremo shared a more detailed note breakdown in a subscriber email: Top: Black pepper, cardamom, saffron Mid: Violet, patchouli, moss Base: Amber, suede, date, tonka Also, Cremo is a men's brand and this is a fragrance marketed to men. Not sure why it was entered in on Fragrantica as unisex. In any case, what about the scent itself? It's really really good. I have all the rest of the Cremo line and this could be the best of all of them, even giving "Spice and Black Vanilla" a run for its money. It's smooth, sweet, amber-y, leather-y. I wouldn't say it's hugely spicey, the spices are well blended into the suede and amber. Word on the street is that this is a clone, like much of Cremo's fragrances are. This time it's a clone of Ombre Leather. I've never smelled Ombre Leather myself so I can't directly compare, but if you look up the notes for OL you can see a lot of overlap with Vintage Suede. Performance is great, I can spray it on at the start of my work day and still smell it by the end. It's a new cheapie favorite, definitely recommended.

Haven't had a bad experience with Cremo yet. For under $30 you have sweet warm suede leather that has very good performance and I cannot detect any synthetic "turn offs". It's not quite TF Ombre Leather but it's in the ball park for quality. Also the Wife thinks this smells very nice so it's got that going for it. Performance was par excellence for a cologne of this price range with longevity which leans in the long lasting column. I experienced 8 hours + with decent sillage. I might try to layer with TF OL parfum and see what happens. Another Hidden gem and the definition of a great value. Edit: Tried TF Tuscan Leather and can say that may be a closer profile than the Ombre Leather fragrances. Slightly sweet and fruitiness rather than floral notes in Cremo. Regardless, it is a great everyday wear and one of my most complemented scents. Scent 8/10 Performance 8/10 Price 10/10.

Cremo frags can be inconsistent, but man oh man, when they hit they HIT. This is an excellent evening fragrance that smells leathery without being gasoline-y and mature without being old mannish. TF Ombre Leather is one of my favorite fragrances, and though the similarities detected in Vintage Suede absolutely exist, they tend to be over-emphasized in other reviews. The amber is much, much more prominent here than in Ombre Leather and, to my nose, the violet accords are mostly missing. The opening notes of Vintage Suede also seem sweeter, making this a better scent for casual evenings than the formalwear powerhouse that is Ombre Leather. Believe the hype. This is Cremo's best fragrance (with Palo Santo following closely behind) and the quality-to-price ratio here simply can't be topped anywhere else at the moment.

Am I the only one who thinks this smells citrusy? It smells like how spiked Arnold palmer tastes. I'm not saying it smells like tea and lemonade, it doesn't, but the taste is what this smells like. I don't think that makes sense. Honestly one of my favorite fragrances. Much better performer than it's rates on this site. The longevity is really good but for some reason the silliage is especially good. It smelled very mossy when I got it, now it's mellowed down to be leather and what seems to me like citrus. It has a deep undertone but it's very bright on its surface which is what makes me think this works in the spring and summer.

I LOVE This fragrance and I am a woman. I shower with the body wash and just love the sensuousness of it. It is sweet and leathery some wood and oakmoss but just enough. I find this scent intriguing and sexy. Lol I wish my hubby would wear it, but he's an Eternity kinda of guy. He does wear Fahenheit which is my ultimate fav on him, and he will also wear Polo Red and now that I think about it Cremo Vintage Suede is somewhere in between those two. Someone special has a shower date soon! Also love Cremo Amber and Cremo Cypress. They have great affordable bodywash and cologne. I wear the Palo Santo in my hair sometimes.

First off let me start by saying I absolutely love this scent so far. It’s rich, sweet and somewhat powerful. That being said, to my nose I get more of a sweet tobacco from this fragrance. Almost like a rich and fruity pipe tobacco. It starts with the moss being well pronounced but after about 5 minutes or so the moss takes a back seat and then the amber starts to come out. A little later comes the fruity tobacco. I’m guessing that’s supposed to be the suede but it’s a little more spicy to my nose causing it to resemble more of a pipe tobacco. Over all I’m loving it!

I’ve never smelled Ombré Leather so I can’t provide any comparison, however this is a very solid leather fragrance imo. It is a light, ambery sweet leather- very sexy and alluring. This fragrance will shine in cooler weather but is still light enough to be worn on a spring day/night, perhaps even a summer night. Performance is moderate on me (6hrs longevity). Please know that the opening smells a bit synthetic, but after the first 10 minutes this scent is absolute 🔥! Fantastic steal at $22.

i just snagged this for $18 and was pleasantly surprised. I think the opening is too harsh and synthetic, but the dry down is fantastic. But then again, I dont pay too much attention to openings of any fragrance, it's the dry down that matters for me. It's like a more wearable Ombre Leather. It's definitely a masculine scent, not sure why it's listed as for 'men and women'. Very happy with this purchase. edit: I no longer think opening is too harsh....maybe just the initial spray was.

Instantly get a berry sweetness and the leather kicks in more as it goes on....smell doesn't change much but leather becomes more apparent....very similar to a Tom Ford creation and if it made it into a bottle with his name on it you'd be paying 300 more than what cremo is charging. Great value for money. Mature scent and would reccomend you try if you like Tom Ford or leather scents. Update I love it more the 2nd time wearing it such an awesome cheap scent

There is no hiding what this is cloning. Basically, Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather on a budget. I purchased it on Amazon for $20. Great cheapie! I kind of like a little better than the original, to be honest. This comes off a bit fresher with hints of a green earthy vibe. This actually lasts pretty long too. On me, I got through a good part of the day. If you like Ombré Leather, this is definitely worth a check out. 😁

I love this fragrance.like many others have already stated, it is similar to TF Ombre Leather. Of course it doesn't go as deep as TF, nor is it exactly like it (but definitely a pretty decent clone). For less than 25 dollars it far exceeded my expectations. I get 2 hours of good projection and about 6 hours of longevity. If you like leather and amber then I believe this would be a good pickup for you.

This is my new everyday easy reach fragrance. This and the soap are signature scent worthy. For under $30 dollars you really can’t beat it. To me it’s smells like a sweet leather with light oud, and a little bit of amber. It projects well too, because I always get positive comments for hours after spraying it. I’d even dare to call this fragrance Ombré Nomade Light - with only 1/3 of the calories.

I don't think you can do a lot better at around $20. It's pretty darn close to Ombre Leather. To my nose Cremo is a bit lighter, a bit brighter, and a bit fruitier. Longevity is perhaps questionable, on paper TF kinda crushes this, but it also costs a lot more money. The Cremo is accessible, and beautifully done. I'm on the fence with Cremo as a company, but I'm calling this a huge win.

Wonderful. Deep suede. Office safe. Oddly satisfying. As with all Cremo scents it has that barbershop background smell along with the leading scent profile. This one has decent longevity and moderate projection. My top three picks for Cremo are Distillers Blend, Spice and Black Vanilla and Vintage Suede. VS bumped Palo Santo down one notch. Very nice release Cremo! Keep it up!

For the low price of $20, you too can smell like a full grain leather belt! Jokes aside, I do actually love this fragrance. I was passing through the Boothills of Arkansas one time and stopped into a leather working shop. This reminds me of the smell of that place. This just has that smell that fresh cut leather has with a little bit of dampness/earthiness from The oak moss

This is #47 in my "Tour de Fragrance" of 250 fragrances in 250 days, and as many have said, if you like Tom Ford Ombre Leather, this is so damn close at a tenth of the price that you won't care. I've yet to be disappointed with Cremo and have more of their fragrances on the way. Great scents at a ridiculously great price. You simply can't go wrong with this.

This vintage suede CREMO offering here could very well be the best of the CREMO line.. It has a sweet, ambery, oudish, leather, smokey & fruity, I dare to say.. vibe to it...and the smell is quite prominent/delicious & the price is quite miniscule/nutritious.....$18......9.0/scent.... strength/longevity 7.0 🔥🔥a really nice new surprise for once🔥🔥CIAO!👁️👃👁️

I like it very much. Another reviewer said it is an "accessable leather" and I agree. Like other Cremo fragrances, there is not allot of development over time, but that is okay when the "one note" is so enjoyable. I get just slightly better than average longevity (8 hours) and I feel the quality is very good for the money. It's a safe blind buy.

Love at first spray. I have never smelled OL, but I will say I do love the smell of this fragrance. Nice and manly, projects well. I have reapplied three times today, not so much due to the scent disappearing, but more so to enjoy its opening all over again. Great for the office and for a date out on a cool night.

If your looking for a Tom Ford ombre leather edp dupe, this stuff will do. It is about 80% similar, it opens ruffly just as every other cremo fragrance but once it dries down its pretty damn close, maybe tad bit sweeter but not particularly noticeable. For 20$ this fragrance is straight VALUE!

I have the body wash, but not the frag. If the frag comes anywhere close to the body wash, I may buy a few bottles, easily. Vintage Suede is aptly named. It’s just enough “man”. Not sharp as it has a touch of “powder”, but to me, a definite fall/winter frag.

Leather forward with some sweetness off the top, I imagine this smells like Ombré Leather, bc this smells very identical to the clone Rare carbon, just not as strong, I do enjoy this, softer so safer for office if you are into the scent profile

I’m female and I picked up the Cremo Sandalwood & Suede on clearance at my local Walmart for $13. It says “ for men”, and I think it’s unisex. Smells so much like a Santal 33 type scent, and smells more expensive that this cheapie price. Wow.

Wow...Another fantastic fragrance from Cremo and another with major similarities to Tom Ford Ombré Leather. Very high quality and lasts all day, or night. For the price you cannot beat this one. Get it before it’s discontinued.

Sweet leather that's 90% G&B Purple Suede at 90% less money. (That remaining 10% is superb leather realism and spice complexity.)

Yupp! Smells very similar to Ombre Leather by TF. If you see this in stores, grab it. Its worth the $22. Simply Fantastic.

Wow! I can’t recommend this enough. Warm, spicy, mossy with leathery Amber. Has almost a fruity smell in the very back of it. Someone in the previous comments said it perfectly, this could easily be a flanker to the actual TFOL line. It’s so cozy, yet fresh enough to be able to pull off in almost any occasion. Sophisticated and masculine. Like a man who knows what he wants and he takes it. I can almost envision myself being a Cowboy riding through the plains of Texas in the wild west days, enjoying a glass of whiskey, and a cigar at an old saloon. I honestly can’t imagine many people with a good nose hating this fragrance, it’s a more mass appealing leather for sure. For 20 dollars buy it! And if you don’t like it sell it to me lol

I second what was said below regarding this being what a Tom Ford EDT version of Ombré Leather might smell like. Ombré Leather is smoother and a little sweeter, but I find it a bit cloying at times, even with just a single spray. That said, I tend to prefer lighter fragrances, as fragrance in general tends to last on my skin. I find that I can even wear this fragrance to the office in cooler months, which makes it more versatile than Ombré Leather.

I finally grabbed a bottle when Amazon had a coupon recently. I've never smelled Tom Ford, so I can't compare the two. It smells like a leather shop perhaps with someone cooking cherry jam in the back room. Very pleasant to my nose, and very leathery. For about $20 it's a great value. It'll also probably layer well with Bentley Intense, Lattafa Raghba Wood Intense or Halloween Man X.

If you're a leatherhead like I am you really cant go wrong with Cremo Vintage Suede. It a very approchable leather scent. Very good longevity with decent soft projection. This will leave a nice noticable scent trail without being abrasive. This is a leather frag that is safe for the office. For the price it's a no brainer.

The dry down is where the Magic really happens. And it starts smelling more like Tom Fords Ombre leather. Is it a complete Clone to Ombre Leather? No. But if you dont want to pay 215 dollars and buy something thats very close (about 80% close on dry down) go for it.

Simple fragrance..leather with a little mossiness..mostly leather though. Dont expect it to develop in stages, it is what it is: simple, strong, masculine. For night, for winter. For $15-$20, why not? It beats teenager body sprays by a mile. I dig it.

Much much softer than ombre leather, which is so beautiful. It's really just suede and amber. I have no idea why they discontinued this amazing bottle, considering other atrocious bottles they possess (eg: iced citron & salt). What a shame.

Very manly. I found out about the fragrance from the body wash by the same brand. This is how I expect the 90s to smell. Reminds me of my grandfather haha I feel real grown. Not gourmand at all. Sweat, musky, leathery, amber.

The similarity to Ombre leather is great overhyped. It smells like a very synthetic clone of a clone of a clone. The Similarity is there, but its maybe 70%. I got it for $10, that's about all I feel its worth.

Little too sweet for a Leather fragrance IMO. Gave it away to my Step-Father who seems to like it.

I wanted to like this scent but for me it’s only a neutral. However, I do respect this scent and the quality this scent is for the price is great !! This opens up very loud,,perfumey, and smelling like a Macys when it’s overcrowded with sickly sweet perfumes. Once this dries down though it does get much better as it smoothens out and that grape accord that many people speak of goes to the background and the suede creeps in making this less sweet and more smooth. The drydown is pretty much the same except the moss comes in making this more green and even a little soapy and light. This one is a weird one as sometimes I smell it and it’s very feminine and kind of smells like an ashtray and other times I get a beautiful,rich, suede and leather scent reminding me of a new car smell done right !!! Again this scent isn’t bad at all and is of high quality for the price but unfortunately this scent profile just doesn’t work well with me. Interestingly enough I do prefer this to Ombré Leather as I find it more wearable and less unisex. (It’s still a bit unisex though in my opinion) Performance on this is good as it projects heavy for 2 hours before it quickly becomes a skin scent. The longevity on this is great as it lasts 6-10 hours !!! (Sidenote :- This also layers nicely with Cremos other scent Palo Santo) Overall rating -6.5 out of 10 ! If leather style scents worked better with my skin chemistry I’d rate this higher but for me personally it’s decent but not great and I can see this being cloying to those around me.

I think this one might get better over time. The first few times I wore it I wasn't very impressed. Mine smelled very very sweet on the opening, followed by a cloying and super dry leather note that felt very artificial. After sitting on my skin for around an hour, it mellowed out and livened up a bit, and I could smell more of the nicer leather accord, with more of an ambery background that felt really warm and inviting. I have to start wearing this one more to see if I like it more, and I think macerating this fragrance will definitely help. For now, once it gets past the opening, it is a decent cheap leather fragrance that smells warm and cozy.

Maybe it will macerate well. I got this because Ombre Leather is my daily wear and the vintage suede body wash is honestly just as good to me albeit a bit different. However, this is worse than the body wash. It is sweeter and earthier than Ombre Leather, the leather smells a bit artificial, the nice floral notes present in OL are lacking here, and it's a bit cloying overall. Genuinely smells like a a cheap dupe. It does get points for being tolerable out of the box at only $18 on amazon. Really hope it macerates well

I think I expected too much given the high average rating. Smelled the body wash at a Target, and it came off as grapey and sweet, rather than dark and leathery. Its alright, but if the body wash scent is anything to go of off, its not that good. Some others have noted a grape-y berry accord, so maybe its similar. I wont be buying this fragrance.

I really love Cremo's Bourbon and Oak, so I thought it give Vintage Suede a try, and it's fairly dissapointing. Very synthetic opening that's reminiscent of stale grape bubblegum. The suede emerges, which is pleasant enough, but nothing to write home about, then fades into a dusty musty skin scent.

Sweet amber dominates. Very slight moss in the background. I don't pick up any suede, nothing leathery at all. This is a mediocre fragrance, and they shouldn't have named it Vintage Suede.

I'm doing a side-by-side testing with this, Just Jack Ombre Suede, and TF Ombre Leather. Cremo Vintage Suede: exact same top notes as OL. The base dries into a slightly synthetic leather of Crayola crayons, while still having some top notes present. Indeed the leather note is flat and wears off quickly, but it's more close to OL than Saphir Oud or Rare Carbon. Just Jack Ombre Suede: Animalic leather, then that OL type sweetness, then back to more leather. It dries into sweet, animalic scent. Not really ambery/floral like the original imo. I read one reviewer call it "grandpa smell". That stuck with me and affected how I perceive it. Tom Ford Ombre Leather: Beautiful, Leathery, amber, floral. Linear leather car seat scent meets subtle jasmine/amber sweetness. The big difference for me is the actual feeling in my nose and sinuses this gives that the other two don't have. The leather is the fullest, most realistic smell I've ever smelled. Vintage suede is worth it in my opinion, and so is the original. Other dupes: Rare Carbon, Alexandria Fragrances Untethered, Shield Black Leather, Passion by The Dua Brand, Ben Sherman Signature Update:after some maceration, I would add that this fragrance leans more synthetic/imaginary than the rest. The very closest dupe I have found now is Mirada Shield Black Leather EDP from TJ Maxx.
