Sylphide

I know what you're thinking - I saw Olive and Vanilla too and thought ummmmmmm....but this is truly one of the most beautiful florals I've had the pleasure to smell in a very long time. It's smooth and sexy and had my nose glued to my wrist for ....a very long time. I don't know how these notes work together but they do so perfectly. Corey is an artist willing to take a risk and bottle up something that will not only take your breath away, it will leave you wondering why no one has mixed things up like this before now. I wonder if the olive note gives this scent it's "roundness", or richness? There is no "star" note, it's just beautifully blended and perfectly balanced - for a man or a woman. I'm not easily impressed, but this line from Adelaide is more than worth a try. I have a few others I'm playing with, but this one has truly captured my attention - and the siren my heart. I purchased my sample and the contents and opinions are mine. And then I bought the bottle. Happiness.

I hate white florals. Truly despise them. So when I tell you Sylphide is an outstanding masterpiece of perfumery, and the only white floral I've ever wanted to buy a full bottle of, you know I mean it. Casually refined. Beautifully balanced between freshness and depth. Green without bitterness. Slightly salty acquatic, without being damp, soggy, or wet. Jasmine and orange blossom are photo-realistic and forward from open to dry down, with the other notes adding nuance and intrigue, giving me something that shifts magically in the breeze. Absolutely swoon worthy in the most relaxed way possible. It's impossible to not feel chic, and dare I say beautiful wearing this. Perfect wedding fragrance. Perfect for the Paris fashionista grandma. Perfect for the tatted up barista in a band. Perfect for the non-binary queer who lives in pj's and jeans too.

First off: I often hate white florals. Sickly, powdery, screechy, blurgh. I don't think white florals like me either- indolic type scents can turn into cat piss on me. A lot of feminine scents smell bad on me. I also hate vanilla. Secondly: I live somewhere hot and humid. Nothing about this arrangement is setting this scent up for success- and it... its actually quite alright. I find myself sniffing myself endlessly, working out the scents. It harmonises really well with my skin, and it lasts really well. If I was to describe it- its a beautiful mysterious gothic lady on holidays in the Mediterranean, eating olives under the bright sun while reading a book while jasmine blooms. You approach her to ask what amazing Patchouli- vanilla perfume she is wearing, because its amazing.

A creamy, salty jasmine with olives. Interesting idea, while also smooth and pleasant. Must try for any jasmine lover.

Trying out a decant with Sylphide on one wrist and Muse on the other. So far I prefer Sylphide! I’m a white floral/jasmine lover but I also like more unisex scents. I’ll test it some more. Edit: Second test and I like the savoury elements that set this apart from the usual white floral scents. The grape comes in to round it out and it's really beautiful.

Starts and finishes with white floral, benzoin and vanilla with a little musk that comes and goes. This is a strong, long lasting and far reaching fragrance that is truly unisex. Another great scent from Corey. This fragrance would suit happy, lively moments such as weddings and birthdays et cetera.

Sylphide is so bizarrely gross on me, I can't figure it out. Is it piss? Puke? General old lady essence? Idk but something in it genuinely revolted me. I wonder if my sample was from a bad batch or something because on paper it sounds lovely.

Beautiful, pleasant citrusy jasmine with a decent resin base. Absolutely, positively not anything I would ever wear, but stunningly beautiful all the same...
