Legacy Private Edition

I was the first to react here on this fragrance before I had it. Now after owning it for about a year and a half I come back. Not with a review but with a comparison. But first, it would be nice if the frag community could judge this one for it's merits. Blind bought this one after the original Legacy, which we tested first for me and my eldest son because I like it and I am a great fan of Ronaldo. He is my compatriot. I'm biased. Sure I am. I prefer the original. Today I received Pal Zileri Viaggio D'Africa. Quite a popular fragrance in the community but hard to get. Although it is a very hot day here (26-28 C) Too hot for these 2, I am comparing both on skin and on paper. First half hour: The same scent as Cristiano Ronaldo Legacy Private Edition. Only that one is far stronger. Is an EDP. According to the note breakdown here Viaggio a l'Africa has the same bases notes as CL Private Edition middle notes. After a little more than 2 hours Viaggio a L'Africa is taking a nap. It's still there, I hear it snoring, but CR private edition is still kicking and jumping as when it left from it's spray. Now this is where the testing ends, because I am going to take a shower. Curious to see what is left of both afterwards. will try to treat them fairly. Private Edition is still there. So is Viaggio a l'Africa though very faint now. On paper this one is now getting sweeter. Subtle, very much like Colonia Purissima is. I get the Vetiver now. And Ink. Private Edition on paper, still maintains the odd top note of maple syrup. Maybe it's linear, maybe the drydown is yet to start. Great projection. performs far better than pal Zileri. That is for sure. By the way: Here in the Netherlands I can buy Private Edition now for 16 €/50 ML. I had bought an additional 30 LM bottle last month for 12.95 €. Couldn't leave it there. Not that I will run out of my 50 ML bottle soon, because I rarely use it. But that doesn't mean it's not good. It is unique because it's unlike anything else I own. So is the original Legacy for that matter.(A little bit weird Apple/Cinnamon combination), but still very cozy and likeble. More than the Private Edition Would like to hear the opinion of fragrance connaisseurs on the comparison.

Got this as a blind buy and am very impressed. It smells really good. The bottle is a work of art. Solid blue glass, gold script, copper metal cap with black herringbone-textured “grip”, and the same herringbone-textured grip is on the sides - a great design that makes the bottle easy to hold in a humid environment like a gym or a locker room, after a shower. The magnetic cap is a great feature too. All fragrances should come with these. The sprayer is better than most too, responsive to gentle pressure, a full spray is metered for a moderate application, appropriate for the potency. Opening is herbal, aromatic, smells awesome, then there’s a kind of resinous, slightly sweet note (maple sap?) which evolves into woody amber. Got this as a blind buy, and am really impressed. For the price (I paid AU$15 / US$11 for 50ml) it represents incredible value for money - and smells so good it elicits compliments from strangers. Applied some before going to the supermarket this morning and had TWO people ask what I was wearing, one young lady who had seen me walking with my parrots initially asked about them, then mid-conversation commented that I "smelled really good” and what was it. Celebrity fragrances can often be hit and miss but this is a winner. I love woods and amber and Legacy Private Edition is the best of both worlds, a pleasant, versatile fragrance with great excellent performance. IMHO a safe blind buy - smells amazing, natural and high quality- although it almost certainly is synthetic, it doesn't smell synthetic in the way some fragrances do, smells way more expensive than it is, and has excellent performance. A class act. Like its namesake.

This is amazing... Everyone at work loves this scent. Tried it for a week now. The closes thing to this...is pure Malt/pure Havane By Mugler. When it comes to the gourmand sweetness. It smells like maple syrup, wood chips and earthy(like damp dirt after a storm). But i'm happy with the buy. Everyone who was selling this...Wanted $100+ for it...ah, nope. Thank god for google... But anyway, it's great... It's very woody, after the dry down. This is a must, if you can handle gourmand sweetest with a woody earth tone. BTW: I love playing with the magnetic cap. I used seven sprays...both wrist, behind my ears, back & front of my neck, chest. Will I buy this again?...Yes. Tested this in the store a few times. Very unique cologne in that it has a prominent maple syrup note as mentioned below. Despite that, it's not very sweet as it's more woody and also dark. There is no coffee note listed, but it does give off the slightest vibe of that. I think this is fantastic for cooler weather and is the best of all the CR fragrances. Kudos to the mystery perfumer. People are saying this is a good value but it's almost $50 for the 50ml bottle at retail, here in Japan. If it were around $25, then it would be a steal. Try it, if you're into these heavy amber/vanilla/syrupy type scents. UPDATE: I finally purchased this for $25, an opened 50ml bottle almost full. At that price, I was willing to jump on this. Beautiful bottle with a magnetic cap and good sprayer. It is a great fragrance, a "love" for me. Dark and woody with the maple note adding a bit of sweetness. Good performance. My gf said she liked this, and she's very picky about giving compliments on my fragrances. Rochas Man is inferior and different; it's more watered down than Legacy PE and contains a more prominent coffee note.

So, who rated this stuff? It's not available yet. I have been looking out for it since it was here reported. It has 4 of my favorit notes: Sandelwood-Tonka beans, Amber and also Neroli. Having the entire line of the original, including aftershave, deo and showergel, and liking it, this special edition is a must have. But as I said, the special edition is not yet available, not even on Ronaldo's own website. Unfortunately a lot of fragrance fans seem to rate on fragrances just for...well, whatfor? Attention? This has resulted that I do not take the reviews here for serious anymore. Also those people who have just sprayed a fragrance once and write essayes on it afterwards, are completely worthless

Amazing! Tried in shop - loved it - sharp clean coffee-like note (that doesn't smell exactly like coffee) - definitely has a characteristically unique, expensive and classy (very slightly oudish) vibe. My daughter hated the smell and would tell my wife if I bought this one, so I had to refrain from buying. One of the best low-budget celebrity fragrances that has come out in a while I think (although not that low-budget). Pleasant resulting vanilla dry down. I recommend getting your nose on this one.

This really surprised me in the best way. it's unique, but not over the top or loud. the wood is very nicely balanced out by this slight brown sugar undertone. it just projects a very nice, well rounded scent. there's definitely some freshness underneath, but it's nowhere near overpowering. And it really completely evaporates on the dry down, which leaves you with a woody, slightly sweet excellent scent. 9/10. shocked that I love it so much. around forty dollars, I'd say it's a good buy.

A great affordable fragrance. Great projection and longivety. This scent is very warm and welcoming. Definitely a cold weather scent. Its sweet but at the same time it gives me some incense/coffee wibe. This is a very masculine scent. Don't overspray this! Not a great office scent because of that strong profile. This is more of a "go out" or date scent. I can see young men pull this of, but this starts leaning to more mature men. Maybe 30+.

Jomoves is right about longevity - this thing is a monster. It outlasts my bottles of Mugler Pure Malt and Pure Havane. Definitely, must be inching towards special niche territory for its projection and longevity. Wow. Initial results are promising. Update: Yes indeed. Fantastic performance and longevity. Golden sweet seductive maple that girls go crazy for. Tremendous value because you don't ever need more than 2 or 3 sprays max.

Moondawn Blue Jeans and this have nothing in common on skin either. Nor scent nor performance. Both Legacy's are unique fragrances, and very good quality. I have these 3, so I'm capable of comparing them. Private Edition has also beasty projection. I own one and gave another to my son. I can smell it on him outside in the park in winter from 2 meters away, while he wears a long coat, at least 3 hours after applying it.

This perfume surprised me, at this price range in a hot condition it stayed quite long. After 30 minutes in asian open air and 5 hours in air conditioning... it still stayed. Initially the sweeter smell was disturbing later it turned out beautifully. More suitable for casual hangout. Not for party or for office. It really meant for cold and fresh weather. Not recommended in a hot and humid condition.

First time i smelled this i tought this was absolutely disgusting, but after some time, i gave this another chance and WOW, i totally changed opinion. This is a unique, elegant and masculine fragrance, really really mesmerizing. On this i smell maple syrup, some erbal notes and a little bit of coffee, really strange combinations but the result is superb. Performance is also good, 6+ hours 9/10

Lovely fragrance. Bit sweet, but well balanced. The dry down is just awesome. Love the vanilla and maple syrup combo. Got a lot of compliments from woman and men as well. I just got this EDP for a steal in Holland: 50ml for just 15 euro! Longevity is great, wearing it now for 8.5 hours and i still smell the perfume. Sillage is just above average. All and all a must have in your collection.

This is a calm, chilled & put your feet up version of crlegacy Its very incense and spice based with sweetness in a very medieval way Reminds me of Portugal in the evening with fire burning and everyone enjoying a meal in the country house farm Heart warming fragrance if you've a taste for hot holiday destinations you'll get what I'm saying : )

Prices are skyrocketing because it's sold out everywhere. No longer a cheapie. Very unique woody and sweet fragrance with the "maple syrup" note. Decent performance. Cooler weather and evenings is best for this. Ronaldo's top fragrance, but CR7 Game On is good, too (Armani Stronger With You clone). The original red bottle CR7 is also decent; smells like a woody Le Male.

Wow, brilliant take on a modern yet classy fragrance with style, personality and sophistication. This juice is perfectly blended and very well balanced so it never gets to sweet or cloying. At some stage it even reminds me slightly of Alain Delon Plus from 1987, at least the overall vibe. Very brave release from CR and his creative Team! Bravo!

It's crazy how much I like this perfume, I bought it because it's not that expensive and I had seen reviews that it smells like coffee. I use it on a daily basis cause I want it to be my flagship scent, the scent on clothes lasts up to 2 days; I also receive many compliments.

It is good, really good! Definitely a compliment getter for me, for this price it's an absolute champion in my opinion. Very spicy, something to wear for the night. Partner smells gingerbread notes, I smell wood, vanilla and cedar. Long lasting.

I really like the syrupy barbershop thing going on here. I like it better then the syrupy whatever going on in dior sauvage elixer. this smells great.

Another rediculous comparison, is Rochas.

I bought it for someone else and actually considered keeping it after smelling it. for some reason, I get hints of Blue Jeans even though they have nothing in common on paper. in truth, nothing smells like Legacy Private and to me it's enough to call it unique. obviously, that doesn't mean it's worth buying for that alone, but it's always a plus in my book. I have couple of expensive fragrances that perform better, but I'd never say they smell better - especially not 70-100€ more better. from my limited testing before I gifted it in the end, the projection seemed soft, while longevity was good. that means you will use it for dates/dinners/office etc, you know the rest. seasons: cold spring, autumn, winter. other brands could learn a thing or two from CR when it comes to presentation as the bottle is beautiful, especially in this price range. speaking of price, I bought 50ml bottle for 18€ on Notino. I mean come on, that's what you spend on those expandable fragrances that you use for gym. overall, the whole package is something that would cost much more if it was released by Armani, but since it's Cristiano Ronaldo... good deal all things considered and an easy like.

when I started my fragrance explorations, I did not think vanilla would ever be my thing except in a bowl of ice cream, but it's grown on me as the women around me respond to it positively and they all liked this scent better than I liked it for myself. I can't help but associate vanilla combos with the Bath & Body works stuff strippers wear to cover the smell of their sweat and that of the Eros-drenched frat boys they've been grinding on (I should have never let myself get dragged to "Pacers" when I was in San Diego. Still traumatized by that smell). Even if I were inclined to date strippers, excuse me, I mean "exotic dancers," that smell alone would drive me away. This vanilla scent of course isn't THAT strong, and though it isn't listed this comes across to me as peppery. Could be the basil. You definitely won't smell like you fell into a vat of ice cream mix, and I do like the other notes a lot, but still not sure this one's for me. I think layered with something more citrusy I'd like it better.

Not too sure about the "reminds me of" section above....????......But, yeah, I can see bits & pieces of these scents in this Private Legacy...but not full-on. At first spray....I am really enjoying this one. The opening notes on skin are really pleasing...but then the drydown...that "opening" notes effect dissipates. The dry down is rather "generic" . But still...I do like it. For the price a nice tho average scent. Average performance/sillage. I just wish that opening stayed around longer !! EDIT: Well !!! After 2nd and 3rd wearings of this....it has turned into a hidden gem !! I really love this now !!! Very decent scent.

To me this smells like a coffee roast, an unusual but pleasant one. It's a very likeable scent and I keep sniffing that wrist. The burnt coffee dies down to a gentle warm and slightly sweet smell. Striking is the presentation. I even kept the elegant box, and I rarely keep the box. The glasswork is fine and the side and cap show some sort of tire track which is a little sporty. My 11 euro 30ml even comes with a classy magnetic cap. Other cheap fragrances should take a good look at this, after hanging their head in shame. Definitely a showcase bottle. Longevity, projection, sillage are all medium.

I can sense the quality of this fragrance... really. But on my skin the maple syrup tone is just a bit harsh. Almost like a curry note. But on my friend it smells marvellous! Alltho he can't pull of D&G the one edp (I know... weird), it smells like rom and coke on him. But The One edp works amazing on me so It is a really nice one even if I can’t pull it off. Not a safe blind buy, but try to get your nose in this. Be sure tu spray on skin because on paper it is whole other fragrance.

Sprayed this one on about 8 hours ago, the smell is still quite strong, i think i must refere to this one as beast mode, i am sure it will last at least 6 hours longer on my skin or more, as for the scent itself it never develops much from the first spray, it is very sweet and smells kind of like sap mixed with amber and herbs not bad, but not my favorite either, i will still buy it because its different and unik as a scent.

This one caught me by surprise. I didn't expect a celebrity fragrance to be so suave. There's something about this one that is very sophisticated and masculine. It starts off very green then dries down to become more sweet but not necessarily in a gourmand way as it still has some of that greenness from the opening throughout. I'm not going to go ahead and say this is a masterpiece but it's very good for what it is. 8.5/10

I like it. For the price point it is good value for money. To me it smells a lot like sboy by draco but I find this to be better. I find sboy to be a scam because of the price it has. Because this is cheaper and better and is a edp as well I think this is a much better purchase. It is not a beast and is fresh and clean and I find it office safe. The only downside to me is i pick up a celery leaf note which I don’t like

I get a really nice smooth woody maple syrup note to begin with, it's sweet but smooth sweet. It continues to be a really well balanced smooth scent throughout. It also comes in an attractive bottle with a weighty magnetic cap. Great value for what it is.

Totally blind buy. Expected to have a sweet fragrance, but this is not so sweet. It is more woody scent to my nose with a little of Maple sap, not maple syrup. It smells nice, but not wow. Performance on my skin is just average.

Decent performance but a really nice scent. Sweet, warm and high quality. Project nicely for 1,5 hours and then stay as a skin scent for 5-6 hours. Okay for short night-out.

A real gem for an unbelievable price.

This is a good fragrance. I find similarities with S Boy by Draco which is way overpriced !! I would go for this one for 40 $ / €. Not suitable for hot weather. I find it good as well for office use.

Although I like maple syrup note, here it reminds me caramel which I'm not fond of it. It also leaves oily stain on the skin which is good imo. Suitable for spring, fall and cool summer evenings. The opening is pungent, bold and beautiful but in a few minutes it settles down to a moderate sillage/projection scent. It is long lasting but stays close to the skin most of its life. Dominant notes are caramel (or maple syrup according to the note pyramide), strong tonka beans, noticeable sandalwood and strong ambroxan. As time passes this note becomes even stronger and slightly burns my nose. There are also tiny & faint traces of vanilla and neroli. Overall the vibe I get from Legacy Private is something sweet (but not overly sweet) and ambroxan. This is not similar but it's in the same team and slightly better imo without the annoying ambroxan effectAzzaro Decibel

Scent: 4/10 Value: 6/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 6/10 Versatility: 5/10 Sweet & woody with a light powder note. Cristiano Ronaldo Legacy PE is a decent scent. I'm not a big fan due to the powder note in this. If that one accord was absent this would be legendary. The dry down isn't that bad but once again I can't do powder and it gets more powdery the longer you wear it. It's bordering on linear also. If you like sweet, powder and woody then this is your scent. Longevity is outrageously good. This lasts and lasts and lasts. Sillage is excellent also. This being said do NOT blind buy this. You will definitely want to sample first. My wife did not like the scent but she can be picky with her frags.

Tested today (in Australia) after the top note (maple syrup) piqued my interest. This one is NOT sweet, it is, as the note indicates, maple SAP not syrup - a very noticeable and important distinction: maple syrup is sweet, delicious, irresistible and candy-like. Maple sap is ooze from a tree. And this fragrance smells like it. Perhaps that's why it's 'dirt' cheap where I am (AUD$40). The note pyramid above is not inaccurate - woody notes (moss, cedar) are far more prevalent than tonka/amber throughout the heart and opening. Smooth sandalwood and vanilla are non-existent. Disappointed, but only because I'm not interested in smelling like a forest

It's good value, it has strong performance, the presentation of the bottle is very good, curly frag has recommended it....sounds good so far but..... To me the maple note is not pleasant. Up close it has a screechy "mosquito repellent" characteristic to it and if oversprayed can be very overbearing and unpleasant. I've worn it a few times and maybe it will grow on me, but so far I find it hard to enjoy. It is possible that on a scent trail it is a lot more pleasant and muted than up close. I've had one compliment from long distance with this frag. It's so cheap that it's worth a go if you're interested.

For $12, It offers an EDP, with a apparent strong maple note, rich and sweet woody notes, that smells unique and addictive. I have to give kudos to the bottle design, possibly the strongest magnetic cap and a gorgeous bottle, perhaps the nicest one in my collection. it is astoundingly cheap so there is not really any drawbacks from a blind buy of this scent. 9.5/10 considering this is coming from a celebrity fragrance.

Hmmm...I can't really tell what the heck this is supposed to smell like. I picked up a sample of it and when I spray it on skin or on napkin...it smells like coca-cola. I don't drink soda anymore and for decades now I haven't smelled that candy soda smell. I am glad I didn't buy the full bottle...I don't think this is for me. I was expecting a "Coffee" smell...and this isn't it.

Don't really get the hype on this. I had a bottle of this back in 2022 and it smelled like a dusty old wooden table covered in syrup. Gave it to a friend of mine who was a CR7 fan. Unfortunately he didn't really enjoy the scent either, but he kept it because it's CR7 and it's cool i guess.

Its a sweet, orangish, eucalyptus, dishwashing liquid type. Just nothing at all. I did not like it. Very odd. Price is cheap as the EDP.

Garbage scent. Smells like antiseptic TCP. I binned this crap. Sure some butt hurt fans will hate me for saying this, but don't care.

Completely agree with @stevestyle below. This is super sweet and generic. There aren't many situations I would reach for this one. It's not good value for money even though its cheap. Youtube reviewers just pushing these types of fragrances because they've run out of video topics.

I quite enjoyed the original and I'd even sniffed out CR7 (the release that came out after this one) before I got my nose on this and I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed. Private edition is a bit like I imagine the man himself to smell, brash, over the top and sickly sweet. I don't mind a sweet fragrance at all and the thought of maple notes gets me really excited but this don't do it for me I'm afraid. The opening is an intoxicating cloud, a kind of dirty vanilla blob, which put me in mind of that tonka bean craze of a few years back. There's an amber warmth but it's very cheap smelling and I've not idea what other notes are there because frankly it's a bit of a mess. One thing I will say for it, Private edition is in keeping with the line and does have a certain unique quality (maybe it's that maple? I'll have to wear it again) which will be striking to some and is what I liked about the original. However, It's not unique in a good way, it's more a 'who can make the ickiest, gourmand chemical bomb on the market?' kinda way and that's not big or clever. Sorry Cristiano, I don't hate this and I will try it again but my gut says thumbs down and I don't think that's gonna change.

Very powdery sweet; if you don't like those scents you will hate this one. I agree with the positive remarks this one gets, it's much better than the discounter prices it goes for or for the other scents from the brand. The basil note does give me a hint of a vegetal side during the opening, but by the time it begins drying down it reminds me very much of Givenchy Pi - it delivers that grounded, unisex Pi powdery sweetness and you switch the accents from the almond and benzoin with the synthetic maple and sandalwood notes here. The difference is the drydown. Modern Pi EDT (at least from around 2015 when I got my bottle) doesn't have good performance - this one is incredible. I tested it last night on top of one hand after showering (many believe this opens the pores to receive some fragrance and aid its performance) and even after multiple hand washings it's still projecting a couple of inches off that hand around noon the following day. If you want a Pi-style drydown with unreal performance (and are okay with it being more synthetic) this is a great buy.

This stuff is just simply great !! It’s a nice modern take on a classic fougere,barbershop scent but with a modern touch to keep it from smelling dated !!!( Although with that said I don’t see this being a teenager scent) It opens up with a classic,clean,semi soapy but masculine smell that when it dries down gets a little sweeter(but not sickly sweet) and also richer smell that is a nice mix of barbershop and gourmand. It sounds like it wouldn’t work but it’s actually quite a beautiful,unique and classy scent !! This could be easily be disguised as a niche scent as it’s just class !!! (Very impressed from Ronald) The maple note is quite nice in this !!! Performance is quite good as it lasts 6-8 hours and has above average projection and could get beastly of over applied (I keep it at 3-5 sprays and no more than this ) Overall rating -8 out of 10 !! A unique scent that’s gotten compliments,has good performance snd for the price you can’t go wrong !! However it doesn’t rate higher as it’s very good but not one of my favorites !!

To put it simply, This is top of the league!!! It is a very sophisticated, unique and is blended superbly that smells like nothing else out there. I drank my first 100ml bottle in no time and on my second now, just cannot get enough! Woods/Sandalwood with a mild organic honey sweetness on top and maybe a shot of Whiskey, a concoction of spices that is simply out of this world. Excellent projection/trails and longevity only here. Ronaldo may divide opinions regarding his personality, bit cocky but you will find if you dig deep, a heart that is massive if you can get passed the exterior. Passion is very often mistaken for arrogance sometimes but I don’t think you will find anybody on earth that can deny his skills on the pitch. Beyond the bravado, Cristiano and CR PE is pure Class. Bargain of the millennium! No joke. To all the naysayers and snobs out there... Do yourself a favour, Stop following the herd of sheep, find your own path and get some taste, save your dough and get off yo high horse and drink some milk.

Update: 25.8.2017 I have just fall in love with this perfume (EDP) it is unique,receiving more and more complimnets from girls,as a photographer i am always surrounded by girls looking into my camera to see how the photos looks like,that's where i got more compliments on perfumes... Sillage 10/10 Scent 10/10 Longevity 10/10 Projection 10/10 ______________________________________________________________ Received my bottle today and i have to say that this is pretty nice prefume,luxury scent for very good price,got my bottles for about $5 each in a bulk buy (300 bottles) I can feel that smell of amber and also vanila at the drydown,well blended all notes,it is not for everyone,some people will dislike but for blind buy it's ok,this perfume is for all seasons and day/night,hot/cold... On CR Legacy EDT version i have posted comment if Ronaldo come up with EDP version i will buy a lot,so he listening to me and i keep the promise...Thanks Ronaldo... Glamourpuss Ronaldo signs this fragrance ripe with contradictions. Bobo: the portmanteau for bourgeois-bohemian, might encompass them. Breakfast plate at a bohemian college town diner: pancakes, butter, maple, coffee, hand-knit Andean sweater infused with Tibetan cedar and sandalwood incense, amber bead bracelet, hand-me-down leather satchel. Oh look it's Hermès. And there's a likable slap-dash Guerlainade from start to finish, from a football superstar? Sly fox, Cristiano! North African souq, and Mediterranean disco boy. Dichotomous yet linear. Did I smell pancakes? No, a tribe of glossy Gulf Gotha teens on the Croisette in Cannes, 3 am, soaked in the latest designer frag. Private Edition is not "rich, elegant and sophisticated." It is pretty, masculine and successfully jerry-rigged, like Ronaldo's skillfully created bonitão face and sleek body. A must-have for the charming 19yo on the prowl.

Legacy Private Edition has become one of my favorite celebrity fragrances (with the best projection and longevity). You will enjoy this scent if you like woody, tonka, resinous, "incense" type fragrances. Yes, the maple tree sap is detectable throughout the entire scent journey (but not overly sweet, like maple syrup). I also detected some pronounced ginger-spice notes in the mid, which are not listed in the olfactory pyramid. This fragrance reminds me of the sultry incense candles burning in my favorite Middle Eastern lounge. Exotic and alluring, but still masculine and subdued enough to wear on a casual night out with friends. This is a very pleasant cool weather / evening fragrance. Please note, this is Eau De Parfum concentration, so avoid over spraying or wearing on hot days. Otherwise the strong resinous notes could become overwhelming and cloying.
