Kananga

I picked up a bottle of this cheap at my local pharmacy. I already own a bottle of Lanman & Kemp Florida Water so know enough not to judge these scents on the chintzy plastic bottles alone, though I do wish they had continued to use glass as it would have made it a little more palatable. Be that as it may, for 5 bucks, I'm not complaining. Aside from the bottle, I am very surprised how pretty this is. It is a very buttery floral that could pass as the body mist version of the original Michael Kors. When I looked at the notes, I thought there was no way this only had ylang in it because I definitely pick up a buttery gardenia and possibly tiare too. I don't get any wood, fortunately no soap either, though there is a slight aromatic quality running underneath from the spice notes that in no way interferes with this wearing as a full-on floral. Surprisingly, this projects for over 2 hours before disappearing. So, for a cologne refresher, that is pretty good. While buttery florals aren't my thing, particular as an after-bath splash in the heat of summer as I do not find them particularly refreshing, this is very pretty and smells just as nice as something that costs 10 times as much.

I use this as a body splash in the morning (I shower before bed) and the scent itself doesn't last long. However, the dry down smells EXACTLY like the original Dove soap and that lasts all day. And I happen to love the smell of Dove.
