Cuba Maya

This stuff smells amazing! I wish it was stronger and longer lasting. I am not sure what they were going for with this one. I don't know of any super popular fragrances that smell like this. So the people saying it smells like Perry Ellis 360 aren't wrong, but I think it's more barber shop, and definitely more rose heavy than Perry Ellis 360. Although you can trace both of their lineage back to Eternity, and Azzaro Pour Homme. It kind of reminds me of Ungaro III or even Ajmal Shadow Ice(a little bit). It's definitely a modern barber shop aromatic with rose. It feels kind of similar to Savauge, but not totally. I'd even say it's a blue fragrance with its freshness and aromatic nature. Also a very nice rose note. This stuff is good and I wish they would make a higher concentration version, but I kind of wish that about several Cuba fragrances.

This is a great thing to keep with you all day at a wedding and then flirt with the intimate anise that sticks around until a good shower. By then you shouldn't care that the scent sticks around any further. This is a flirty, spicy scent that keeps my wife happy and is one of my few complimented on by strangers.

I've had this for a few years and haven't taken it seriously, can't explain why. Tonight though I applied a good amount and went out and was very pleased. It sorta has a "licoricenous" to it but it's gotta be the anise. I'm not a licorice note fan but this mixture is smart and well done. Aromatic is definitely what this is, average longevity and projection. Cuba Paris may be a bargain brand but some of their releases like Red, Green and Black are reputable.

Smells like anus at first, but if you give it two hours it smells okay.

Shockingly fresh and aromatic for an oriental. Cuba Maya starts off with a beautiful rush of bright lemon mixed with a nicely balanced lavender and geranium combination that is very well balanced and quite enjoyable. Its got a very uplifting trio of sensations of floral, aromatic and citric that makes for a nice wear in the early stages and projection is for that brief time quite moderate. Sadly the bright lemon drops off after 20 minutes and the amber, cedar and sandalwood blend with the lavender and geranium and hold a decent if not exciting heart; while the vetiver crashes a bit later and results in a dry-down that is rather bland and quickly diminished to skin-scent. All together you'll get a real kick out of the first 30 minutes of wear before this gets rather uninspiring. Expect about 4 hours of longevity with the last 3 hours being mostly a skin-scent with the amber, lavender and geranium taking center stage. A decent scent but not essential by any means.

Poor mans Escensia Loewe. Amazing for the money if you like a slightly sophisticated, dry green woody scents , try it. Performance is decent
