Something Beautiful

A melodious and supremely elegant citrus floral profusion of impeccable quality and character. The first flourish upon application is immediately green and sappy like fresh cut foliage, then, almost instantly, Something Beautiful turns citric. I suspect lemon and bitter orange despite the variety of citrus proving indiscernible throughout. Soon, white florals bloom, coming to sit atop the citrus with a loftiness that radiates elegance; orange blossom, neroli and jasmine form this most sophisticated Mediterranean-esque bouquet as honey bestows a gentle sweetness. As the floral bouquet comes to be enveloped by amber’s sumptuous aura in the dry down, honey and oh-so mellow tonka accentuate the compositions golden warmth. Longevity is moderate at 6 hours with soft, wafting sillage. 8.5/10

This scent is a gentle and anassuming beauty. Fresh wet greens open the scent. It dries very slowly and carefully, revealing some light natural florals of neroli and orange blossom under the greenery. Mild sweet honey begins to sneak in slowly over the next half hour or so, until it settles on an elegant blend of an ambery vanilla base, sweetened with a touch of honey and orange blossom, with dewy green neroli dancing on top. Something Beautiful really is a beautiful fragrance. An understated beauty with the perfect blend of green, floral, sweet, vanilla and amber - each of which is combined together with such modesty to create this stunning fragrance. This is absolutely full bottle worthy. I can imagine Something Beautiful being a scent that could hold a lot of memories.

The name is spot on! I could bathe in this stuff, it is swoon worthy. I smell the orange blossom which is one of my fave notes and the honey, it is very well blended and once my 15ml bottles runs out, I will be getting the bigger bottle. I also have a small Fire Amber Baby and Sweet Libertine from Cult of Scent and they are both superb. Well done Cult of Scent.

Something Beautiful is an accurate name for this perfume. It truly is a beautiful composition that blooms gently on the skin and reveals its charms in a steady pace. The floral character never overwhelms or becomes cloying, it is a smooth and cohesive blend. As for the scent itself, if you have ever experienced a Mediterranean spring, then you will love this. Highly recommended.
