Cellar Feels

A basket made of cedar holds round, deep purple Concord grapes bursting with juice. It basks in the sun for hours before being stored away in a moist, cool root cellar. In this root cellar there are also a couple baskets of apples, but it is mainly grapes. This is the open and first couple hours of Cellar Feels. It is truly astounding in its accurate representation. And truly niche. When the heart of the perfume emerges, it remains basically the same as the open but the grapes take on an effervescent quality. Not grape soda, it’s not that sugary, but more like a dry sparkling wine, one made from the really fragrant American type grapes. Like the aforementioned Concord grape or a Muscadine. It’s much, much grapier than a French champagne. There’s also a little smokiness, along with the cedar and the petrichor like effect of the cellar accord. This perfume is absolutely arresting at this stage and so intense and interesting. You may think it’s weird, but if you like niche perfume you can’t help but be impressed. As Cellar Feels dries down it retains the earlier structure and balance of notes, just becoming a little milder and sweeter and taking on a woody and slightly leathery tinge. It literally lasts about 26 hours on skin and has an impressive scent bubble and sillage. This is one of those weird perfumes that gets stuck in your mind and grows there til you buy it. At least I hope to. There nothing out there like it.

First tried this at a little boutique store and was initially put off by the heavy grape top note: it was almost juvenile, bubble-gum-esque. But there was something about it that made me keep thinking of it, so I went back and bought the small size. I'm glad I did - this is one of the most unique scents I've ever owned. It does have a very fruity first impression, exactly like a fresh vineyard grape, the kind that has a thick skin and jelly-like, aromatic insides. After an hour or so the deeper, woody notes do come through. The oil-based formulation develops beautifully on the skin. I think the fruit/wood combination is very clever, a bit like picking grapes then crushing them in some heavy, antique machine; taking a trip barefoot into the cellar.

I found this perfume in a small shop in Christchurch. I had never smelled a perfume like it. The top with the apple is so fresh with the old wood scent behind it. I find it settles to something like burnt wood. I've created an account just to talk it. Addictive!

Imagine yourself in the middle of an open vinyard next to an old winery. So addictive, peculiar, and so good 🔥 You can pick up lots of fresh green notes, red grapes, and the leafy tea.

Stunning, absolutely intoxicating!

Beautiful fragrance, and at least to my nose, quite unique. The Apple and tea notes are very apparent from the opening, which settles into a grape centric mid-base. The name lends its self very well to the scent, as this almost smells like I have spilt grape juice on myself! As with most oil based fragrances, this lasts an eternity, but sits close to the skin on me.

Really did not expect this to be SO grape forward. I assumed the grape leaf note would be more green, but this smelt like purple grape juice out of the gate. It dried to a nice woody skin scent. After a few hours I could pick up on the green tea notes, but that took a long time (and was the draw of this perfume for me.) Not bad for something I got a tester of, but won't buy the whole bottle.

Cellar Feels opens with a burst of purple grape—skin, juice, stems, and leaves—capturing the moment fruit is first brought in from the vines. There’s a cool draft of the cellar air, carrying aroma and dust. As it develops, the perfume widens into layers of apple, orange, and black tea leaves. Wood begins to rise from the background—Virginian cedarwood, Atlas cedarwood, and a touch of nutmeg and tree moss—evoking the quiet casks breathing slowly in cool shadows.

Absolutely LOVE this scent. I stink at describing scents but there is JUST something about this that is SO mesmerizing.
