Sacred Santal

love the scent but wish it stayed for longer

First impressions: (roller ball) Listen whenever a scent says santal I usually HATE IT. Especially if that sandalwood smells rough or screechy. But this one IS PERFECT compared to all the other sandalwood perfumes I’ve tried. I just wish they came with a perfume version and not a roller ball version. I would love to try the body oil as well. Edit 1: I think that this perfume smells like more like a cardamon bomb to me. rather the “santal” part of the fragrance is a misnomer. I hate Sandalwood and to me the santal in here is very very, very slight. This reads slightly masculine to me. This perfume smells like a really luxurious creamy body cream smell. Edit 3: Compared to my other perfumes I feel like driftwood is better than santal. Also I don’t like that this is named at santal but there’s more cardamom than actual sandalwood in this. Second opinion said it smells like a English teacher, and I agree it’s a big meh for me.

The first note I get is vanilla — so much so that I double checked to make sure they hadn’t sent me Vanilla Verve by mistake. Then I begin to get something that smells like a combination of amber and cashmere wood. For a scent with light projection it seems a bit syrupy and heavy, if that makes sense. I ordered this on a whim after reading that it was an In Style editor’s most complimented fragrance (cheap enough to take a chance). I’m not going to say it smells cheap, but it definitely doesn’t smell expensive. It’s sort of striking me as “mall goth,” so I may just not be in the right age demographic. This could be great for someone else.

I bought the vitamin c body oil and I have to say this is a very masculine leaning scent. As someone who enjoys wearing masculine fragrances, it’s a bit over the top. It’s soft, but also sharp. On my skin, I mostly pick up the cardamom and bergamot, a lil too citrusy for your average santal scent. As far as silage and longevity, it does not perform very well at all.

Smells like a cologne I'd smell on a grandparent. It's not offensive, but not really up my alley. It's a lot more generic than people make it sound online. I am getting the woodsy and almost chocolate notes, but also a lot of amber and musk. I'm not getting much bergamot personally

I can't believe no one is talking about this.... its CLEARLY heavily inspired by Althair by PDM. Amp up the vanilla in Althair and you have Sacred Santal by CYKLAR. Almost no longevity on these oils but the body wash and lotion are nice

Woah. I tested Sacred Santal on my wrist on a whim at Sephora and fell in love. I now have both the body oil and this fragrance rollerball. I agree with DelancySt, this is vanilla-forward with the titular sandalwood note lurking in the background (along with the amber and cardamom). There is something really addictive about how this smells--it's a bit like sniffing an open jar of vanilla bean paste while your chocolate chip flaky sea salt cookies bake in the oven. My only issue is that the rollerball does not dispense very much product (I have to roll it over the same spot multiple times just to get a bit of product payoff). It also sits very close to skin and can essentially only be smelled by others when they're coming in to hug you.

I expected more sandalwood lol but it does have that almost chocolaty accord, I think it's the guaiac with the cardamom. I like that it's green without being bitter or pickly.
