Ambrosial Orris – Damask Haus The first time I wore this, I was genuinely confused—in the best way. I liked it immediately, but I couldn’t translate it into the usual shorthand of “it smells like...”. Nothing really smells like this. It feels more imagined than referential, almost like a fairytale interpretation of orris rather than a literal one. The opening is creamy and smooth, softly sweet but never exaggerated. The orris doesn’t read cold or cosmetic; instead, it feels plush and rounded, almost as if it’s been lightly dusted with sugar. That heliotrope note is key here—it brings a soft, almond-like, slightly floral warmth that I personally adore and that gives the fragrance its emotional pull. What’s interesting is how the scent evolves. As it dries down, it becomes less dense and less overtly creamy, but it never collapses or disappears. The structure stays intact—it just turns airier, more diffused, as if the fragrance lifts off the skin rather than sinking into it. The sweetness quiets, the texture softens, and the whole composition feels lighter without losing its identity. This isn’t a scent that tries to impress through projection or familiarity. It’s intimate, dreamy, and oddly transporting—something you experience up close, more like a mood than a statement. Hard to explain, yes—but unmistakable once you know it.

On a blind smell test you could not convince me that this isn’t made by an ultra-pricey foreign house. This is the one that roped me into Damask Haus. Sillage and longevity are insane on this sweet, complex ambery orris. Top 10 of all time worthy.

When I first received this fragrance I was not familiar with this house. It blew my socks off! I have a collection that is iris heavy and this is the easiest to wear! Talk about a beautiful scent bubble that lasts 10-12 hrs wow. Brianne is a true artist....this one so far is my favorite of hers but she has a catalog of heavy hitters. Give this one a go....i guarantee you will want to sample everything she has to offer!!!

Fluffy not stuffy. The orris is divine. Sweet fruit and florals that seem to sing and float in and out of the narrative. I’ve tried 3 from this house and none of them give that scratchy nose burning sensation that you get from a thrown together mess. This is beautiful. Youthful, yes and I wear it proudly as a 65 year old woman. Stunning
