Soliflore Vanilla Orchid

Soft, gentle and different; the scent of a blooming vanilla orchid flower drifting along a breeze - as opposed to the more traditional close stickiness of the vanilla bean.

This starts out with a bit of medicinal dark vanilla extract-- almost cough syrup. But that quickly lightens up to a sweeter floral-vanilla, a bit coconutty under that. The most summery of all my vanillas. I'd like to try this again in the heat of summer. This tropical vanilla dry down is really quite nice. However it's very light!

Though this does posses a certain creaminess, you won't find any ice cream or sugar cookies here. This is vanilla as in bloom, in all its rich, floral, phenolic complexity. One of the better vanilla soliflores I have tried... Just lovely.

Blind bought the oil rollerball; wanted the edt but since I’ve been traveling so much I prefer something smaller so this small size is perfect for being on the go. Now for the fragrance: upon immediately smelling I was not only underwhelmed but disappointed. At first application on my hand all I was smelling was a band aid accord, a certain hospital or medical adhesive smell, and most strongly something like blistex. There was no vanilla other than some underlying sweet creaminess. I was in disbelief and thought maybe with time it would macerate or I would just give up. However later that night I applied some, since I use oils all over, I applied some on my wrists and rubbed them together and somehow the smell just clicked in my brain and now I am addicted. It is a skin scent that does not project much for me but there is something sexy about it. This is something your lover will want to stuff their face into. I am obsessed and am constantly reapplying; a luxurious sexy skin scent. Vanilla? I don’t get some of the previous descriptions. When mixing and layering with other fragrances this one also shines; layered with Dame’s Minty Man, I get the photorealistic strong green fleshy stem of the orchid. Sweet, sexy, I don’t agree this is a strictly feminine scent. There is something sexy and lascivious about this for me, like a restrained Sadonaso without the challenging musks and the powedery tickle in the nose. Soliflore Vanilla Orchid is absolutely sexy and I will be purchasing another rollerball and the EDT. Wish it were a bit stronger but it’s perfect for fellow nymphs and fauns who love getting down at the body party

For me, this smells exactly like cured vanilla beans. The opening is a little more fruity, and as it dries down it moves into a beautiful mix of a floraly tobacco and vanilla. Beautiful! This was a sleeper hit for me.
