Le Musk

Another love from Daniel Josier. I also get Alien at first spray. I think it’s the greenness of the angelica that resembles this potting soil scent I always get with Alien. But as the perfume dries down, it becomes quite different. It gets sweeter, muskier, and I smell some creamy vanilla. It still does remind me of Alien somehow, but personally I like Le Musk more. It’s like elevated Alien. Smells more refined, smoother, more sensual and intimate, whereas Alien is a heavy hitter and always smells a little bit odd, as if it’s Le Musk’s quirky cousin. The longer it’s on my skin the more Le Musk becomes sensual, softly rosey, sweetly feminine and a tiny bit mysterious. It’s beautiful! I want a FB!

I love this scent. I am a musk lover and this scent is absolute perfection for me. I've found that layering it with sweeter scent based scent like Mancera Roses Vanilla or Black Opium really enhances it (even though I love it on its own). It brings my boyfriend to his knees, whenever I wear this scent he is obsessed, and considering his love of scents, that's the biggest compliment. He actually bought a bottle of this for himself after following me around like a bloodhound. Anyway, I will be sure to always have a bottle of this on hand. I got it at the same time I got Initio Musk Therapy, and honestly, this one is wayyyyy better.

One of my sexiest fragrances from the Daniel Josier house. LE MUSK. It opens with floral and woody accords wrapped in an overdose of musks. It smells somewhat powdery, very sensual (due to the content of violets and Iris) with soft nuances of incense and leather. Giving way to an amber and balsamic background. The substantivity on my skin reaches 8 hours. Diffusion is moderate. PS: Many people might compare it to Mugler's Alien, but the latter is made up of a totally different structure from Le Musk. The resemblance is due only to the heavy load of musk. Alien is much more complex while Le Musk is lighter and more bearable.

I got this in the discovery set and one of my favorites in the batch. I ordered a full bottle of this one as well. I see a lot of comparisons to ALIEN well I don't own Alien nor have I ever smelled it. So this one was a winner for me!!!!

I am absolutely into white floral fragrances!! I’ve tried this perfume and OMG !!! It is so sexy Unfortunately it is sad that this masterpiece is more feminine that I couldn’t wear it outside, so eventually I gave it to my sister.

Beautiful musky scent. Light and wearable. It’s a dupe for Alien, absolutely, buts it’s smoother and more elegant in a sense which makes it more wearable. Alien is Metallica and JD Le Musk is Beethoven...

I work at the Fragrance Outlet & we just got 6 of his scents in..this one smells really nice my coworker sprayed it on her hand & we both instantly got an Alien by Mugler vibe..only lighter & fresher..so I say this is deff a nice one to look into if you like Alien but find Alien to be a little to sharp..the price is a lil steep but for how long it lasted the quality is there.

Immediately when I smelled this I was like “Did They mistakenly Send me alien instead of le musk?” This smells EXACTLY like Mugler - Alien to me! So I wouldn’t recommend buying this if you already own Alien.

I have a 2ml decant from JD discovery set. I thought it’s also unisex but leans more feminine from opening to dry down. Overall it’s a nice scent with musky sophistication.

Powdery white musk with sweet undertones. Tried it 2x. Scrubbed it the second time. Not for me. Edited: Some 9 months later I came across this in my "to give away" batch on sample/decants and thought - why didn't i like this? So I tried again and tonight I feel better about it. I'll try it a few more times. I have 5ml, I may as well. Changed my rating from a dislike to an okay for now.

Heavy jasmine and vanilla. Also a bit of green fruits and flowers (maybe guava, passion fruit or something like that). And some musky powderiness, of course, which smells quite vintage (90s vibe). I really get the ALien. If you like Alien, you might really enjoy this. BUT! To my nose, the musk is so overpowering, it almost gives me the metallic feeling, like very very concentrated musk bottle opened straight to your nose. The musk is the same type as Lartisan Ete. Not my favorite facet of it. It will be pass for me since I do not feel the Angelica I was hoping to have.

After having tried many of Josier's perfumes and having had a very positive impression of his work and, although I was worried that it would be too redundant having Alien in my collection, I decided to get his proposal in this olfactory direction that has always seemed so voluptuous and feminine to me. And I don't regret it at all, this is without a doubt a great perfume. On its opening it really brings to mind my beloved Alien but soon there is a change of direction. Although the jasmine in both is quite similar throughout the development of the perfume, Le Musk is, as its name suggests, much more musky and even a touch herbal (perhaps from the angelica). It is a sweet floral that is perceived very well put together, with a musk with a hint of something animalic that makes it a very sensual option. I find it a scent with an interesting balance between the distinguished and elegant and the sexy. I do not agree, however, in the comparison with Alien Essence Absolue, which seems much denser and ambery to me and is still a very special perfume for me. Although I love Alien, at times when I wear it it feels a bit heavy. Le Musk is more bearable, somewhat less dense although with very good projection and duration (more than 10 hours on my skin). It will undoubtedly be part of my collection and I would buy it again when I finish my bottle. The mugler comparison is so interesting to me because it is very similar, but it's also not at the same time. Somehow the notes, which are very different in both give off a similar air but when you spray this one on it is quite a bit more earthy and herbal. Both have a certain tartness about them, and i feel like there is a chemical element in both that is the key reason why they are so similar. There is a sticky ambery candied feel in both and looking at this note composition I would have expected something far more fluffy and niche smelling, where as to me this - possibly due to that mugleresque chemical - smells very commercial and mainstream. ** 200 + samples for swap UK - check my customs, let me know what you have, 10+ bundles! **

A very interesting musk. It is just that. Musk with subtle notes of angelica, pink, wood ... Light enough to do always nice, but with enough body to notice it clearly. Very well balanced. It is the typical perfume that smells clean, almost soapy, with a slightly sweet and floral tone that remains long time (around 5-6 hours or more) but always close to the skin. Well built and with quality. Perfect for the office and any season and circumstance. Highly recommended !!!

It shouldn’t be possible but this is crazy similar to Alien. Less high pitched though, and smoother. I prefer it over Alien. I was told by a perfumer that this smells very close to real dear musk. It’s puzzling that there are no white florals, but maybe we solved the mystery here why Alien is such a bombshell fragrance. Great performance. I’d have gotten this if I didn’t already own a lot of Alien flankers.

Alien mugler ودیگر هیچ خود خود خود الییِن موگله . بی کم و کاست . فقط در شیشه ای دیگر . حالا انتخاب باشماس آیابطور کلی طرفدار الین هستین ؟ اگر مثل من نیستید و حتی بدتونم بیاد مثل من که تکلیف معلومه. اما اگه الین و دوست دارین مایلید نسخه مشابه رو در شیشه ای دیگر هم داشته باشین؟؟ شاید در آف های استثنایی این امر برای دوستداران الین معقول باشد

Do you like Alien? well, imagine you found a laundry soap with Alien scent, it also comes with a fabric softener. That is Le Musk. Alien and laundry musks. Interesting. Difficult to wear for me, my sinuses don't enjoy this aggressive musk. Worth to sample if you love Alien and musk scents.

Am I crazy or this is like a subtle version of Alien by Thierry Mugler? At least to my nose it is and i'm not sorry when i say that I don't like "copies" of successful fragrances. His Josune is also quite similar to La Vie est Belle by Lancome.
