Flowing Artistic Light Over Dark Rustic Wood Are you intrigued by the mountains? Picturesque landscapes of lakes, forests, mountains and valleys? And what about the resinous aroma of freshly sawn wood? Then the Kootenay region of British Columbia in Canada is your highly coveted location. What are you waiting for? If I imagine a dark, untouched forest, Canada, British Columbia, Kootenay, with its Kootenay Lake, nestled in the Purcell Mountains, comes to mind. The woods are luxuriant with larches, cedars, pines, firs and yew trees. Using raw materials gathered from nature, one can create rustic woodwork combined with a fluid artistic glow. Paintings that transcend one to another place or time. Each piece is as unique as your imagination will allow. Coasters, charcuterie boards, birdhouses, all the minor items and not-so-small bits and pieces of the Kootenays. The Refined Woods perfume shares the same aroma with these objects during the processing of raw, resinous, dry wood. About the cologne, Refined Woods is an oriental woody fragrance, a creation by Symrise perfumer Alexandra Carlin, the nose behind Kyoto , Leather Essence , and BlackSoul EAU DE TOILETTE, to mention some of my collection’s items. It features a heavy aromatic slant that ideally carries you to distant lands, staying at home while travelling the world. The fragrance opens with a super wood boost of spicy, herby infusion of balmy green cardamom and silver clary sage. A semisweet of freshly grated nutmeg reinforces the spiciness. For a few moments, I catch a sweet and crispy green apple, like in the Boss Bottled EAU DE TOILETTE, but nothing mirroring it. I am puzzled to notice that there is no bergamot, or other sweet fruits, because I quickly get dashes of fruity sweetness. A tinge of zestiness pops up, courtesy of the citrus citron rind note that beguiles the nostrils. Refined Woods slowly leads to an earthy-floral heart notes of iris taking center stage, enhanced by aromatic touches of lavender and geranium. The purplish lavender appears slightly herbaceous, and the geranium leaves add a deep, green touch. The dustiness of the orris root is tamed and perceptible without the nuance of talcum powder, lipstick, or any sort of makeup. In the ultimate phase, the spicy and woody warmth of roasted beans, both woods and roots, underline the fragrance’s character. Thin, dry cedar wood and the fragile aspects of rooted vetiver create a suave and manly experience. Instead, roasted tonka adds a semisweet smokiness reminiscent of the fragrant smell of dewy tobacco leaves. A spicy nuance of vanilla also shines through, which, however, does not alter the perfume’s direction or make it cloying or close to a baked dessert. These hints of some tobacco and some vanilla give it an amber, slightly resinous and incensed touch and oriental and woody accords. What remains on the skin, in the long run, is a trail of ambroxan and super ISO E, salty and woody undertones. This one has a more masculine edge than Aromatic Greens and Infinite Aqua. Out of the three in David Beckham Collection’s new long lasting EDP line, this is the most performing. Both projection and longevity are close to average, courtesy of the aromatic, woody and earthy aspects. I think each fragrance suits better a specific season, and this one is great for cooler days and evenings of fall. Both business and leisure are suitable occasions. It is not offensive, so go safe with it. The cologne is light, well-balanced, both fresh and warm, with a touch of sweetness, and is recommended for those seeking a clean-cut fragrance. I'm basing my opinion on a bottle I've owned since June 2023 (BC 3030).

My only complaint is that the longevity and sillage could be better. However, you get what you pay for, so it's fine for the price. I definitely get cedar and tonka from the start, but there's something sweet as it dies down. It smells like vanilla to me, and call me crazy, but something comes across as cinnamon too. I've only noticed that at the very end though. Overall, I'd say this is a pleasant and safe everyday fragrance.

Definitely the best out of the 3 in Beckham's new EDP line (Infinite Aqua, Aromatic greens, this one). Very sweet, woody, warm, and spicy scent, and actually it smells a little bit similar to 1 million by Paco Robanne. Great for the cooler weather and performance is decent, projects arms length distance for about an hour before becoming a skin scent for another 5-6 hours on my skin.

Nice, fairly strong fragrance good for everyday. Once it absorbs into the skin, it smells fresh. While I personally don’t think it’s a particularly woody scent, the main note I pick up is lavender. Could definitely do with a bit better longevity, as I find it runs out after ~3 to 4 hours.

This is a great cool weather cheapie. Youthful and warm. Perfect for wearing a hoodie, and going on a date. I think they should have called this one Amber Breeze instead of Refined Woods. Best in the line. If you want to try these, they have them at JC Penney stores. 20 bux on Joma.

This is basically a new and improved version of Beckham Classic. Performance is improved but still not great. Very nice, comfortable woody scent. Suitable for men of all ages. Good pickup if you can find on clearance for under $15

I have tested this and it smells like some other familiar fragrance but I can't quite guess which one. I hope someone can focus on this better than me. I like it a lot anyway, it's the best of the 3 new fragrances by Beckham.

Phenomenal adult male odor. Woody, slightly fresh, better than laundry detergent. Elements of a dad cologne, but modern enough. Good performance for price. The best of this Beckham line I've tried.

To me smells a little like prada ocean but lighter. Its a great scent but doesn't last that long.

This one is nice, but not very original. Just got it today as a blind by from my wife. Surpisingly I recognized it almost immidiatly as a Boss Bottled dna type of fragrance (to me), just a little fresher and more woodsy. Don't know if it's closer to the original or the intense version. I compared it with the intense version, but didn't smell the original in a long time, but it's definitely a cheap alternative if u like Boss Botteld with a twist.

This is typical Beckham cologne: smells nice, budget price, but weak performance. It is a sweet synthetic type of woods, actually fairly pleasant (like a cheaper simpler Burberry Hero.) I don't find it stronger than his typical EDTs in projection and sillage (i.e. not much) but it does last a bit as a skin scent.

very generic masculine fresh fragrance, smells like some sort of cheap masculine shower gel/deodorant. the notes listed here are interesting but theres barely any woodiness or powderiness from the iris, just some synthetic unoriginal freshness.bad performance, cheap price, generic scent, not really worth it imo 2/10

Goes away quickly. The bottom notes are nice but there's no projection so it's not like anyone will smell it anyway

Smells of a generic, fresh, "arctic" men's shower gel. Awful. I don't smell anything woody whatsoever.

They need to toss this line and go back to the sporty branding that Beckham fans expect. Trying to attract the pathetically fickle niche buyer in this price segment is a lost battle before its begun. Otherwise this is a nice fresh woody gingery fragrance that does a great job for the price. Think budget L’immensite. Those not detecting woods are probably too familiar with modern woody amber bombs which deliver woody notes by the trunk load

Immediately after first spray several fragrances come to mind, 212 VIP, Victory League, Boss Bottled, Guess Seductive Homme Blue, YSL L'homme. Haven't smelled the Guess Noir and the OG. It belongs in that DNA. Weak even though it's marketed as an EDP so don't buy at full retail. Will see if maceration will do wonders.

Very simple perfume with a woody smell and slightly spicy. As often happens with this type of cheap perfumes, the duration of the perfume is very low even if it is called eau de parfum..In my opinion you can safely continue further! 😅

Fresh sweet, like the dry down of Azzaro Wanted after all the fruity and citrus accords are gone. Not similar to Bottled as that one's spicy while this one's not spicy at all.

This is 100% clone of Carolina Herrera 212 VIP for men. And it is actually good.
