Cool Water Sea Rose

DEWY PEONY. Opens with a fruity burst of pear, that continues & deepens into a floral heart of peony on a floral support of musk. My first thought when testing this was that it reminded me of the original Miracle Lancôme. There are also reminders for me of Eclat d'Arpege Lanvin. Cool Water Sea Rose probably falls somewhere in between these two, imo. Has a dewy quality that's also in Miracle, but this isn't quite as spicy as Miracle. There's also a faint tartness sometimes in the mix that reminds me of Eclat d'Arpege, but this doesn't have any fresh green notes like EdA. Overall a beautiful scent profile, with average performance for a light summer wearing experience. I'm a longtime fan of Miracle, so it's a love for me. Enjoy! Update 06/18/24: The musk used here is the same musk in Miracle Lancôme, although this is more peony forward, while Miracle is more litchi-pepper forward. The peony here has a lot of lift, and is airier than the classic "perfume peony", but into the drydown it starts to resemble the "perfume peony". Love it.

This is a beautiful, feminine freshie. For me it doesn't have the soapy quality of the original Cool Water. It's light, fresh, and smells like pink watercolor if that makes sense. It reminds me of rosewater poured over fresh pear slices, except with pink peony instead of rose. It's watery and refreshing, but without the usual blue-scented marine notes you expect from the original and its peers. Not an old lady scent by any means, it does have a graceful maturity perfect for women who want to smell fresh & lovely instead of sweet & girly. Sadly it has zero staying power for me; just like the OG blue one, it vanishes completely in well under an hour. Sillage is close to the skin unless you seriously over-spray. Even then it's gone in no time. I wish it hung around longer because I really do love the scent, and haven't found anything else quite like it. I'll keep wearing it as long as I can find it.

I found a small bottle of this for next to nothing at Marshalls, and after smelling it I will definitely need a bigger bottle. I love this! No, it's not ground breaking and definitely smells a bit like dryer sheets,but who cares. Dryer sheets smell good, that's why we put them in with the laundry. This smells clean, floral and simple. Sometimes, you need a scent that you can throw on without thinking about it to much. Something that isn't complicated or overdone. Love, love love it! I think I will really love this even more in the summer months.

I finished my bottle a while back, so this review is from my memory. It's a nice, basic fragrance. The peony is lovely, and that is the main note I got when I wore it. I did not recognize the pear at all. It worked well in warm weather, and was a nice refresher, the lasting power is pretty okay. It is not an exciting fragrance, but I don't think you can really go wrong with it either, both as a gift, and just in its general non-offensive-ness. Its light and fresh, would suit pretty much everyone who likes powdery flowery scents. It isn't sweet.

Must love Peony to love this, it is like the pink version of cool water but mostly floral to me and really it is like the notes suggest as peony/rose and musk with pear. Such a great bargain for a breezy pink perfume even if it doesn't last a long time. I used to see it all the time at Marshall's but I have not seen it for the past 2 years. If you love any of the reminds me of perfumes or peony then this will be a safe blind buy. Do not expect any longevity however and not offensive as it does not project strong either.

This is very pretty, sophisticated and classy scent. Very fresh, soft and delicate...very very feminine! I'm in love! It is very uplifting and it's giving confidence and good vibes! For me this is the best cool water perfume for women and it does remind me of Chanel chance the pink liquid. It lasts also a very long time and the sillage and projection is fantastic! I highly recommend 10/10 even for the bottle packaging and color! Outstanding fragrance! I have found my signature scent!

I love this fragrance!!! I wanted to get Cool Water but ended up buying this instead. It's light, fresh, floral fragrance. Opens up with fruity top notes and quickly turns floral with delicate peonies! I don't get any musk, it stays fresh and floral throughout the day without any noticeable base notes. I wished it lasted longer! Hardly lasts 2-3 hours in warm and humid weather. Still a beautiful fragrance and one of my favorites!

Love it. I'm on my third bottle now, always end up getting it on sale the fall after I've finished it. Never paid more then 25 euros. Its a very nice, simple watery summer fragrance. Not too sweet, not too floral. A friend described it as "yes, you smell like a law student". So thats nice haha. A good college vibe, I wore it working by the beach one summer, good in the heat, and the airco's.does not give a headache

Sea Rose is a more delicate and floral version of the powerful original Cool Water. This is a soft breeze, not a heavy wave that sweeps you off your feet. Poetic name, not to be taken literally since there is no rose but peony. Very pleasant and easy to wear. Fresh floral, my kind of scent. Maybe not the most unique, but still a pretty scent. Not very long lasting.

It is the girliest, no worries, instant mood fixer fragrance ever! Definitely a care free, not cloying sweet perfume. Low sillage and duration. In my opinion it can worn by any age, as long as you are looking for a youthful sensation. Not an office sent, it is a but immature in my opinion.

Fresh pink roses drying down to a very refined floral fruity creamy base (which reminded me of Jadore, Pleasure, 5th Avenue, and so on) that lingers for hours... well blended with quality ingredients. Medium sillage (5-6 sprays) 12+ longevity

I had a sniff of this on holiday in Lanzarote in a shop called Fund Grube. It mas lovely it lasted on my skin for ages and it was a lovely fresh summery smell with a musky base. Its a smell that would capture a time or moment when worn.

This one reminds me of chanel chance eau tendre and also CH212. My kind of perfume especially because of the wonderful bottle... Greetings from Portugal!

Pink always my favorite color and this light smell make me feel good and fresh. But yes it can't stay longer. However, worth to try it out! :)

Beautiful. Delicate. Sweet. Floral. Gentle. Inoffensive. But so faint. Fades fast. People recovering from covid can not typically smell this.

I'm not familiar with the original Cool Water, so I have no idea how it compares, but Sea Rose is such a pretty scent -- a light laundry musk (as other folks have said, like a dryer sheet) with touch of fruitiness that's not necessarily pear but definitely not citrus. It has poor longevity -- only lasting 60-90 minutes on me -- but it was a truly pleasant, though short, time. To my nose, it is reminiscent of Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege -- although that one has a more floral character, with its lilac note, plus a definite astringent/fresh tea note. Actually, I'd choose a bottle of Eclat d'Arpege over Cool Water Sea Rose because it has more character, in general, and better (though not great) longevity. However, for a bedtime scent or a job or situation where you can't wear fragrance with a strong character, Cool Water Sea Rose is a nice choice.

Imagine sitting next to a pond on a slightly chilly but sunny summer evening, the waterlilies are in bloom and you are relaxing and enjoying a refreshing drink - this is my association with this fragrance. This is a very refreshing floral. I do not like it the first minute as it has this strong floral scent that is slightly green and soapy but after that it turns into a light creamy floral, the peony is lovely and the pear sits somewhere in the background, the musk is subtle. It projects well and lasts at least 3 h before turning into a skin scent. I like it a lot, better than the original cool water. Also it is not that similar to Hollister Wave as Wave is much sweeter and warmer while sea rose is on the cooler side.

Beautiful, transparent and refreshing peony scent. It's crystalline, feminine, and clean without being soapy. If the lasting power was anywhere close to average, it could easily achieve Holy Grail status, but... this is really weak, even for a person like me that does not give much importante to sillage and lasting power. For the price (25 € for 100 ml), I think it's got potential. Think about it like a strong body mist. If you like to enhance a floral fragrance with a transparent, aquatic rose touch, this may be good for layering or refreshing on the go. Edited to add: this scent tends to cling better to cloth and paper than skin.

This is a pretty nice fruity floral in its composition but nothing exciting. It smells like shampoo. I have said before, I don't mind smelling like shampoo or body wash, its simple and there is absolutely no rose, but it's a geraniol, peony-type pretty pink floral with enough ozonics, a touch of aldehydes hiding in there. Its a good composition for this style of fragrance in this price range. Dry down reminds me of a lighter version of Lacoste a Touch of Pink.

Even if it has not rose, it smells like a sea rose! I liked it. Innocent, not offensive, suitable to most ages and tastes....good for every daily occasion! Budget friendly and distinct from all the Davidoff cool waters but at the same time shows some consonance with their DNA. The pitfall is longevity on skin. Better spray on clothes, too. However, it's more than OK for a 28€ perfume. It will make my summer season.

This has become my favourite. It's a lovely and pleasant fragrance. Feels very happy and innocent to wear. I can smell all the ingredients: Peony, pear and musk. The combination of peony and pear made me mistake it's a rose fragrance for a while. On my skin the fragrance doesn't last long. 15 mins or so. But on pieces of clothing, it can last over 3 hours. Overall I am very happy I got this.

Beautiful. The name 'Sea Rose', the attractive bottle. It reminds me of Burberry Brit Sheer & Versace Bright Crystal for it's fresh summery scent. First spray the scent takes my mind go travel to a quiet pool, fresh cool water pool with flower petals scattered on it. The air filled with fresh flowery scent. Fresh, delicate, innocent, alluring. Good longevity.

Nice, but leaves me wanting more peony. It's ok on its own, but very short-lived. I'm going to layer it with some of my gourmand florals, too. Right now it's mostly pear and musk, but based on other reviews, it may get more floral with age. Cabotine rose reportedly improves with age, sometimes it seems to be true (my Cab Rose is better after a few years!)

Delicate, youthful and elegant. A surprise given the low price. It doesn’t need to be complex and is perfect for warm, breezy days. I can see it translating to night for outdoor summer parties, if you wore something light. It’s very innocent and pretty. I like it more than I did when I first bought it.

Definitely more “floral” than “rose”. My bottle opens extremely alcoholic and smells something like a nostalgic bubble bath. The dry down on my skin and clothes is quite warm yet stays subtle, with an almost “peppery” undertone. For the price point, it’s a nice spritzer to keep in your bag.

Very light and fresh, suitable for summer and daywear. Peony is quite nice in it. Very simple composition. The good thing is that it's not overpowering or slushy. The downside is that it's a little boring. Wearable scent, but I am not amazed by it. Cute pink bottle.

Fresh, floral, delicate, fantastic fragrance for hot season! Musky base is also subtle and very nice. For sure it is office safe, won't bother anyone. Update: Just too aquatic for me. Update2: Also a bit 'salty'.

Like a lighter and fresher version of Shiseido's Everbloom ♡ Nothing derived from it's original Cool Water counterpart, which surprised me since I really dislike the original Cool Water 😅

This is light and elegant. Sea Rose is a delicate and soft fragrance - it's not one for lovers of only bold scents with heavy sillage. I found it rather lovely and comforting.

Smells fruity, fresh and sweet. I like it, but have the feeling that it smells like a lot of other fragrances in the same category. It's mostly a young fragrance.

Very floral scent, it is simple and has a nice blend. First impression it strikes me as a little of an old lady pungent perfume, but im used to it now lol

A very easy to wear all day summer fragrance. I bought this first and then the original version, they don' t have much in common. I prefer this one.

A lovely, fresh and work friendly perfume. It's so refreshing and great for summer/spring. Not long lasting, need to reapply every 3 or 4 hours.

I have tested it in a perfume store, This fragrance very similar by 85% of "Chance Eau Tendre Chanel" perfume, flory Peony fragrance with musk, althought "Chance Eau Tendre Chanel" have more another ingrediants of woods, flowers and fruits but the final dry down fragrance is almost the same. If you didn't smell this perfume before, I advise that you can blind buy if you are interesting flory fresh perfumes, For my own taste, I prefer to buy a mist of contains "Pink Peony" than buy this perfume which has less price and lasts the same time on skin. This is a very pretty blush pink fragrance, fruity, rosy. Suitable for spring/summer days but I can see it being worn on cooler days too. It has a breezy quality to it. It reminds me of fabric softener. Like a thick comfy cardi from the dryer. Which may cause a headache if you’re anything like me and sensitive to the strong synthetic smelling detergents. It’s a little one dimensional for me but it’s pleasant enough. It’s what I would consider a bridesmaid fragrance as it will suit everyone and the occasion. It shares none of the original Cool Water DNA.

It “sparks joy” from top to bottom ... of its perfume pyramid, which is not even a pyramid technically. Looking at its simplicity, one feels like this EDT has been created with effortless confidence. What is a “sea rose”, by the way? No longevity whatsoever, but loving the scent.

The rose smells slightly mature. I expected a young dewy rose. It's light, fresh and calm. Inoffensive and office-appropriate. Perfect for a sensitive nose. Longevity and sillage are non-existent. So it's a skip for me. 😑

Well, isn't that an odd disappointment. Normally I would not be interested in anything from Davidoff, anything in a pink bottle or anything having to do with roses. And yet. The name "Sea Rose" instantly caught my attention. Bushes of rosa rugosa, also known as beach rose or sea rose, are abundant at the seaside where I spend my summers, and also a memorable part of my childhood playgrounds. I started thinking of something salty and beachwood-smelling combined with a wild rose would not be so bad, would perhaps be the perfect essence of summer. Then I looked up the notes and found this perfume has nothing to do with either sea _or_ roses - it's supposed to be all about pears and peonies. This is the first time I've been majorly disappointed by a perfume without even sniffing it first. Maybe the whole thing is some sort of Japanese in-joke, I thought. Being that peony is supposed to be big there and the Nashi pear is Japanese and Rosa Rugosa (Sea Rose) is called literally "shore pear" in Japanese. I decided to smell it anyway, on the odd chance that pears and peonies could be combined to smell somewhat like roses on a beach, as unlikely as that sounds. I didn't get the pear (must admit I'm a bit of a stranger to nashi pears, so maybe just couldn't place it) but I've smelled a lot of peonies this summer and there's no comparison. I couldn't have called this a peony perfume either, without knowing it was supposed to be one. If it reminds me of anything, it's one of the less obnoxious and more expensive fabric softeners. Very generic, very linear and persistent. I kept expecting it to fade away quickly, but 2 hours later it was still strongly there, enough to become bothersome. After scrubbing off with hot water and two different soaps it was still somewhat detectable. Still wish there was a real Sea Rose perfume. Or maybe I should just try some layering...

Hummm.... this is the third peony scent I've tried (dior blooming bouquet and versace bright crystal being the others) and I haven't enjoyed any of them. I think I have to accept that they're not the flowers for me! The pear is there at first but then it's just a floral. And to me it's dry, like a dry rose wine sort of dry. Not sugared at all, just a slight natural sweetness from the flowers. I suspect if you like the other two fragrances I mentioned, you will love this! It seems like it would be great for every day wear and it's a bit of a bargain compared to dior :) Ahhhh update! According to another perfume website the actual notes are Nashi pear, violet, Peony, freesia, Blond cedar wood & musk. Me and cedar wood do not match! All the other notes are up my street (peony questionable) but cedar always drys out perfume and gives a woodyness doesn't suit me. Sandalwood seems to be the only wood I can deal with in scents!

I am so disappointed :( At first I tried this on paper and I liked it; I could smell sweet pear and lovely peony, not so strong and smelling like shampoo as a whole.It was a typical fruity and flowery scent and because I like such a scent I bought this soon, and I tried it on my skin for the first time today. Yes, it was not a unique or special scent but I thought it was very general and that it wouldn't make anybody disgusted. However it's making myself disgusted. I can't feel any sweetness or freshness that I smelled on the paper, it just feels like a bomb of flowers and it's making me sick. Definitely not for summer and not for me. I knew that perfume could be different when actually tried on skin from testing it, but this is the first time I'm actually experiencing it and I feel so sad :( Lucky that I purchased it in a smallest size.

(review from a man, tested on my girlfriend) Very very simple fragrance with 3 components. Yes, sometimes less is is more, but not in this case. The top is a really wonderful pear note, but the middle with the peonyisn’t good. I really love the poeny, but this flower is only a good suppliment note, nothing more... The base is a single musk, with a hint of woody notes, nothing special, boring. Forgettable scent. - Spring/summmer daytime scent - Sillage and longevity slightly under the average, maybe 4-5 hours - Safe blind buy Scent (open, top-mid): 7/10 (x2) Scent (drydown, base): 7/10 (x2) Sillage: 4.5/10 Longevity: 4.5/10 Uniqueness: 6.5/10 Versatility: 6/10 Total: 6.188/10

I got it when it came out, because I liked the idea of a sea rose smell and it was very hot when I bought it. Luckily I only bought a small size. It fades away so quickly and is hard to trace. Also: isn't it strange that there is no rose in this scent?

This is not even rose scented! It's more of an aquatic sweet teenager-y fragrance. Not for me, it's for a younger audience.
