Cool Water Wave

What stands out to me in this fragrance is the pink pepper and woods/musk. My nose really picks up on that riding underneath the melon and fruits and makes for a very mellow, unisex oceanic experience. It’s not as airy and watery as I thought but still reads “aquatic.” I dig it and it’s also very soft, inoffensive. Great low key casual summer fragrance for both sexes!!

I love it! It lasts and lasts and lasts on my skin, and I find myself lifting my arm to my nose all day long to take a draught of it in. While I think of this as essentially a summer perfume, I am happy to wear this any time; any season, day and evening, hot or cold, and I especially love the peppery note that seems to come to the surface again and again.

i like davidoff because usually they arent that strong and i like light scents that are fresh so i can mix with other light smells and create a different but cool water wave is my favorite davidoff perfume so far. i bought freeze me today and it reminds me of normal cool water.. which is fine

I wore this in the summer last year and never tired of it for daytime use. I have had the original cool water too and like both equally, although I find this to be fruitier but still refreshing and unoffensive. Nice bottle too!

Nice , bought a 30ml bottle for the bargain price of £12 in Boots today........ Totally and Utterly Unsniffed as they didn't have a tester out. But as i love summery/fruity/aquatic scents , for £12 i thought "Why not " . Its just "Nice " , nothing special and some of the other Davidoff women's summer Ltd Eds are far better IMO ( Echo , Summer Fizz , Game Happy Summer ) However , it is a happy , refreshing scent that's not too sweet or cloying and wont offend co-workers . At the price i payed I'm very happy , but if id payed the original price i might of been a tad disappointed as it is nothing special . Also i cant smell it on myself after 1 hour , my BF can though and he likes it. Its the same for me with every scent though , i must get used to the smell after so long. The only scents i can still smell on myself after 1hr are the Thierry Mugler ones For Davidoff fans - I did test both the new women's and mens " Cool Water Summer DIVE" today , which were gorgeous if you like this style of perfume. Just whats needed on these hot , stuffy , humid English summer days !! 6/10 for the scent but 10/10 for another bargain found. ( I'm from Yorkshire , famous for been a bit "tight" and we do love a bargain!)

Male perspective here, (I actually wear this myself sometimes). It is such a refreshing fragrance that's perfect for really hot days or when you are going to be doing a lot of running around during your working day. Strong fruity notes that are balanced out with just enough Sandalwood and Musk to stop getting too sweet. The watermelon note here is in the lead for sure, reminds me of Cool Water Game (for Him) which also had a strong watermelon note that was refreshing (now sadly discontinued) For people who might think it strange that a man would wear this, having been a teen during the grunge age it was common that girls would wear male colognes due to the increase in aquatics and fresh based fragrances (Tommy by Hilfiger was very popular as was CK One with girls my age) so I'm aware that marketing can be misleading. Great perfume, I'm actually surprised that it is not more popular.

In this case, its how you end up, not how you start up. Yes..Yes...the start up of any perfume is important to everyone. This one is good. Nice and fresh and tropical fruits. Then in 2 hours or so it gets better...simmering and smoldering down to a more subdued but still all over you scent. Then how it ends up after about 2 hours is in an unbelievably sweet peaceful place. I agree with others maybe a slightly mannish scent. But for me, thats not bad at all, because its not overpowering stifling flowers, just calm peaceful tropical waters. It lasted on me for more than 6 hours. It dries totally different than what it starts. But you will Love the end result. It has a calming effect somehow.

I can smell nice and rich watermelon at the beginning. Then my nose gets distracted by the tropical fruits in there, which I can't really define, but this level of perception lasts only 10 minutes or so. Then the peppery note appears and it sort of grabs all of my attention. Then it merges with the watermelon and there it stops. Until it fades. I like it but I don't find it very original. As for the aquatic and ozonic features, I can't find those either. It is a pleasant scent that one could wear all the time without annoying anybody. Not too strong, not too mild. Just right.

The smell is wonderful! As in the description: floral and water. It is fresh (but not sour), enveloping and at the same time some refreshing with the addition of sweets. It suits young, joyful women (no longer a teenager;)) that's what I associate with. It's cool to go for summer and winter. The smell persists for a long time (on the clothes all day, I do not spit on the body). Rather, it does not develop, does not change ... what happens to me very well because from the first moment it is so nice that I would not want him to run away :)

I like this but it's not at all what I was expecting. I was hoping for a tropical scent but on me this is just very peppery. I don't smell the melon that a lot of people have referred to and after about 5 minutes I'm left with a sort of pencil lead smell, but it's not unpleasant. This was a blind buy and I'll keep it because it was really cheap but I can tell I will need to reapply it lots because it doesn't last more than an hour. *Edit* The lasting power is actually better than I originally thought. It's about 5 hours.

Well, well i just buy a bottle 50ml because it was on SALE,I did not know the fragrance ... To my surprise, I found it very, very similar to Raph Lauren Wild , wich i have. Cool Water wave has little durability on my skin, but it is a good alternative and less expensive if you like ralph lauren wild wichs obviously better quality and lasts longer than Cool Water Wave. Fresh, sweet but no too much, go for it if u love watermelon!

I bought this mainly because I miss Aramis New West so much and while I can only find a very slight similarity, I think this will still be a summer staple. It's fruity. it's floral. it's aquatic and it's got that ozonic note that I've been missing so much..in fact it "does exactly what it says on the bottle"! I also intend to try layering it with something coconut to make it even more "holiday-ish"..Looking forward to Summer :)

I bought this as a blind buy, I was hoping it would be similar to the Cool Water original, but sadly this is not so. It opens up with a light fruits/floral and then more sharp floral notes in the middle - not so pleasant compare to the original Cool Water. No aqua notes as i would have loved it to be. It is not bad, but I will stick with the orignal Cool water :)

Between this and Cool Water Summer Dive, this smells older and a little more "aunty" to me. Its still a lovely scent that's pleasant to wear to the office and definitely grows on you. I bought this when I was in UK a few weeks ago and now that I am back in tropical Singapore, the scent has changed. Same thing happened with my Cool Water Summer Dive.

i tested it today....at first it is quite strong but it becomes much fresher shortly. it is not bad but i am sure for one thing: you can NEVER use too much of this on your skin....the scent is extremely strange, odd, weird....if you spray too much on your skin! but i still bought one 5ml sample for myself because of its nicely designed bottle :)

i havent tried this one yet but the notes really got my attention! Passionfruit, watermelon and mango together sounds great and perfect for summer! and i found a VERY cheap way to buy this in 50ml, only HKD$110, which is like less than 11euro!

My second review of this perfume because I feel like I've just re-discovered it. Beautiful peppery fruit & floral. Although it's not my usual, I really do enjoy it. I agree with another reviewer saying it has a calming affect - definitely.

Normally I wouldn't even bother with a fruity aquatic, but this is cool and laid back. Far from obnoxious fruity tourist wear. It is apparent that some reviewers here are posting under the wrong listing--there is also mens version.

I received a sample of this fragrance from Microperfumes and I wish I just bought a full bottle or the travel size. It was a very nice light refreshing scent. Spray it on right out of the shower for some fruity freshness.

On the begining typical fruity aquatic scent, nothing specific, but after a half hour it develops into an odd fruity scent with very good silage and longevity. Lasts about 6 hours on me.

Aw this is so much nicer and yummier than original in my opinion- watermelon and guava blend works nicely on my skin x0 Something slight peppery- very well blended. Nice, worth to try

This smells just like Island Fantasy by Britney Spears but it's MUCH longer lasting! I'm wondering if Brit straight up copied this fragrance - ombre bottle and all.

this ones a little heavier and more floraly, not aquatic like the original. they just cant seem to top the origional.

not a huge fan, not long lasting, doesn't work for a person like me living in a hot n humid climate!

If you like sweet scents, this one’s for you! It runs much sweeter than the OG Cool Water, which I personally prefer. It’s not a bad scent at all, just not for me :)

Wow, instant like! I'm pleasantly surprised. It's fruity without being syrupy. It's almost like a fresh-green-fruity. Like fresh cut grass (perhaps the watermelon?) Really refreshing, uplifting but also 'safe.' It reminds me of a water park (not in the chlorine way) But in the cool, fun, summer-vibes way. Or like... if you've ever been on Disney's Soarin rides and they spray a fragrance in the air as your going over the jungle / ocean etc... it's like that. I guess ozonic is the word I'm looking for. Lush, sweet, hydrated, humid, cool, grassy, earthy without being dirty. 10/10 I would LOVE a full bottle of this.

Something weird is going on with this scent. When I got my sample, i was in love. It was so green, fresh and fruity. Like fresh cut watermelon and pink flowers. I didn't smell any peppery notes at all. It was ozonic and sweet and feminine. Now I just received a full bottle and it's awful. It's an acrid salty celery juice. The pepper is ramped up. Either the seller stored this improperly and the notes turned, or it's a fake (but who would go through the trouble to scam a perfume that's already quite cheap?) I'm really disappointed and now I don't know which is the "real" cool water wave. ugh.

What on earth I was thinking when I was buying this fragrance? That I had liked the ad and I had to buy it? The good- looking bottle? Why did I give my money for something that reminded me insecticide? How foolish of me to buy it UNSNIFFED!!! I don’t smell the mango. I don’t like the guava and the peppers and there’s plenty of sandalwood in it that brings me headache. I’m angry by myself. I should have known better. Next time I will be advised by Fragrantica too. I swear!!

At first it wasn't very nice. It gets better with time. I love the freshness that comes along after it's faded a little. I really don't mind it after a few hours have gone by, but I didn't like those top notes. They were offensive and all over the place. The bottle wasn't that pretty in store as it is in the picture. If I had it, it would be dilemma - use it or not. A weird one.

I like a lot Cool Water Wave. It's quite different from the original Cool Water which is fresh and aquatic. Wave is also a great fragrance for summer, it is fresh and slightly sweet, exotic fruity floral goodness. I think I will wear this fragrance a lot this summer.

J'avais hâte de sentir ce parfum. J'avais de bons souvenirs de cool water et Je m'attendais a une odeur d'océan, de fraîcheur mais c'est pas génial... Trop masculin a mon goût. Au moins, après 10 minutes, c'est un peu plus supportable, mais pas mon genre.

My Fiance picked this out for me (I did like it at the store) but Ive been using it for romm spray rather then on me. The scent on me smells of strong pepper/sandlwood. Its not a FAV of mine :( I really wanted to love this Coolwater.

I tried this in the shop today and it was too floral/fruity for me. I prefer the more androgynous marine scent of Cool Water. It's a shame because I was excited about the prospect of the watermelon top note, but this was too sweet.

I expected this to be more fruity and refreshing. I got a sample and LOVED it, then bought the full size and found this overwhelming musky note in the drydown that just completely toppled over all the notes I loved initially.

seriously i got headache after using this.. i don't like the watermelon smell.. it really make me sick.. i won't buy it again... not recommended for my friends... i bought it last 5 months and .. very disappointing...

I actually thought this was a mens fragrance at first. The scent is very masculine. It just smells like musk on my skin. A very strong scent. It lasts for a few hours but gives me headache.

I got this as a gift , and didn't like it much . It's not bad , but it's not what I usually go for .

I got it in a blind swap. I love the original Cool Water so was very excited to try this. Uhm, the opening was peppery-smokey. But to me not pink peppery but more of black dusty pepper. The drydown was better with watermelon coming to front, but it didn't smell juicy. I think the pepper killed the juiciness in this case. It is a dislike from me but after my mom tried it, she loved it so I was happy to pass it onto her. After all it's a win situation as long as you make someone happy.

I haven't worn the original Cool Water for women, but the hype around it was enough to provide me with preset notions about this flanker. When I sprayed Cool Water Wave on, I got that much-abused feminine aquatic note that smells of sweet watermelon. Citrus wafted up within a minute or so. My expectation were met, and I focused my mind on the tasks at hand... interrupted about half or so later by the distinct notion that I must have sprayed some Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely or Narciso Rodriguez on some item of clothing weeks ago. Lo and behold, it was Cool Water Wave, now transformed into a musky floral, the "floral" aspect being a very clean orange blossom or some kind of jasmine. Looking at the listed notes later, I decided that the combo of fruit, feesia and peony may have given me that orange-blossom impression. So there it is, Cool Water Wave, a perfume sure to please the majority -- fans of both the sporty Cool Water, and of the recent trend of inoffensive musky florals of a distinct pink character. Enjoy!

This one is interestingly unisex on me and I think it's the pink pepper giving it a rather nice masculine accord on my skin. I can actually see a man pulling this one off as well since what's coming through on my skin is pink pepper, freesia and then a non-descript oceanic scent all mixing together nicely. Smells like the type of fragrance that could be good for layering with other summer scents that have a beachy aquatic vibe, but need a bit of a spicy boost from the pink pepper. I like this one more the original since that one really skewed toward being like a man's heavy cologne on me whereas this one is more of a shared experience of yin/yang going on. :)

Pros - usually on promo price, including the large bottle - very pretty bottle - doesn't stray too much from davidoff scent - smells good on hair and watches and unsmelly people Cons - not good on smelly people. Like me. May aswell have spritzed myself with soda water after slathering myself in deodorant - smells lasts for about 5 minutes if you're human or the whole day if you're a disinfected pebble watch with a rubber strap - davidoff original smells and lasts better - spray it on clothes and it smells like a pharmaceutical warehouse - although cheap, I will spend 20 quid on Lynx next time. Lots of lynx. Sorry Davidoff.

Cool water wave I may have an old bottle? Or a tea opening? I am not sure about the opening as it's sort of like that scent when a perfume turns. But, the cool water one has the same fresh type of slightly masculine opening too. I wish I could compare to another new bottle. The opening is suspicious, please pm me or message here if you've anything to assist me in understanding what you get in the opening of your bottle. The dry down has a softer layer of the opening, it rounds out a bit. Nothing like the accords listed. Fresh, soft spice, Aqua, floral. Sits veeeery closely on the skin

Another blind buy... Based on the notes and reviews. And the bottle is beautiful. I smell no fruits at all. On me this is very peppery and flowery. I was hoping so much the melon scent but it's not there. I live in cold country so I have to try this when the weather gets warmer. Maybe then this opens properly. It's not bad smell but it's not really my scent. Feels like I'm wearing someone elses perfume. So now I'm waiting for summer with this beautiful bottle... Edit: it's all pepper and flowers in the summer also. Very stingy and somehow disturbing. I ended up selling this.

So refreshing, perfect for hot and humid weather, your gym bag, going to the beach, etc. I get mainly citrus with my skin chemistry, surprisingly not very fruity or sweet which is great, lasts a while. Surprised as I'm not a fan of the original. My mum sprayed this on herself while I was half asleep, instantly refreshing and awakening, I asked what is that amazing scent? As she normally wears heavy perfumes. A must for summer. The name is perfect as I instantly imagined jumping into a crystal clear lake or ocean.

What a mistake: to buy it before smelling it! It is a very ordinary smell, nothing special and it really smells like rose (or rose butter) - which is one of the ingredients I truly hate in a perfume! I am very disappointed by this watery, and even simple perfume! This one has nothing to do with any Escada's fruity fragrances or one of the Be Delicious ones (which I adore all). I recommend you highly to try it before purchasing it - it could save you money and regrets.

It combines everything in its composition: fruity, floral, acquatic, amber and woodsy. Like a good vacation when you get a taste of everything - and in moderation. Davidoff always masters the quality of the fragrance as all the notes are presented in their most appealing form. I recommend spraying this scent on clothes and on hair. A masterpiece for summer. Even if this summer you're staying at home, put Wave on, and your times of summer fun will come right to you.
