Good Life Women

This one had me at hello, lol. First of all, I'm a sucker for almost anything with fig in it, so this fits the bill. Just mildly sweet & fresh fig. The warmth of the wood, amber, & velvety magnolia petals, give me a serene, peaceful feeling. Its a nuzzly, comforting fragrance. I can even imagine wearing this to sleep, since its not a loud oriental & the wood note is not sharp, but gentle. IMO this would be fun to wear anytime, but I think its best suited to autumn days because its an oriental of sorts, but not a heavy vanillic oriental, such as Casmir, which I save only for winter/nights. Beautiful, unique with just enough sweetness. Longevity is good on me, which speaks volumes because my skin doesn't typically hold scent. I am very happy I found this!

I still remember the rush when I first tested this perfume, when it was released, and I bought it on the spot. It was different from everything else and that was the era of proliferation of new fragrances that were starting to smell like one another and beginning to lose individuality of the 80's and early 90's. This fresh and, at the same time, sweet fig won my heart. Backed up by rose and ylang, it really was the good life. As a fan and owner of Allure EDT and Dolce Vita, I can safely say they are not alike at all, although all three have that uplifting effect, but they come from different mix of notes.

I really like this one. Starts off very strong with lots of pepper, after an hour or so it becomes a warm sweet floral oriental, going to a soft amber, vanilla, sandalwood after two hours. The fig was there, but not overly strong, in the first & second phases. Sillage was very strong on me for first hour then went to a skin scent. Lasted about 3-4 hours max on me. fyi - my skin is normal (not oily or dry) but very acidic so most scents dont last much longer on me. The bottle is a PAIN to use, too wide it is hard to hold when trying to spray and I have big hands for a woman.

I'm completely in love with this perfume. A divine and nostalgic fragrance, so difficult to come by these days. Smells of burnt leaves and candied plum. Good Life is a surprise in the entire Davidoff perfume collection. I did not expect this particular House to achieve such level of sophistication. Paired with a warm scarf and Duke Ellington's "A sentimental mood" in your headphones, it works better than a yoga class or a vanilla chai latte. Although, I don't see the reason why not have all of these. Sadly, as most good things in life, the fragrance has been discontinued.

This smells so warm and cozy like you are being wrapped up in the softest most luxurious cashmere sweater ever! Picture a chilly rainy day and you are taking a day for yourself to just hang out and watch movies or read a book and you grab your most cozy cashmere sweater and you wrap yourself up in it and sit in a comfy chair and peer out the window at the rain while wearing this fabulous scent! I have to say I have become border line obsessed with this perfume. It is fabulous!!!!!

Another lovely fig fragrance! It represents a bright day, a good mood, and celebration of life. It’s rich and solid without being heavy. Figs are prominent here, you can definitely smell its sweetness but not in gourmand way. The only floral notes I smell here is jasmine and ylang. The drydown is creamy sandalwood, warm ambery, woody, and a bit powdery. And yes, it does remind me of Parfum D’Elle 2 by Montana (also one of my faves!).

It is 1999, I buy Elle magazine with sample of this perfume. This fragrance became my obsession then, I smell fig, ylang ylang, sandalwood and amber. I'm starting high school and sitting on the bench with a girl who will be my best friend in the future. It is October, sunny weather, nice, warm wind and this smell. I miss this time. When everything important began.

I remember this is the first branded perfume I had around 2000. It was a pretty new scent that time. I started liking the amber and sandalwood smell because of this. I was 25 yrs. old that time and I am more into fresh scent. This somehow smelled sweet, sexy, warm and cozy on me, I can still still remember the feeling :) It is sad that they've discontinued this.

If I want to smell sophisticated and worldly, I spray this on. It virtually lasts all day and a little spray goes a long way. The hint of rose and sweetness gives it elegance. I'm so sad it's discontinued. I am now afraid to use it because I might not be able to find a bottle. Please Davidoff bring this scent back.

A fav, I still have it, its sensual to me. I like the warmness that the sandalwood, jasmine and pepper blends bring. I was happily surprised how good it smelled.I've rationed using it up because it is hard to find. Will use up what I have remaining happily. It reminds me of how my chemistry wears Dune.

First impressions: WOW. What a surprise, what a quality scent from Davidoff! Beautiful, deep, ambery, extraordinary. I blind bought it for a song, just because I liked the name "Good life". Sometimes names can be so right.

I really love this perfume. I'm so into vintages lately. This snells a bit spicy and powdery to me. My only complaint is that this juice DOES NOT LAST. NO SILLAGE whatsoever.

It is the only perfume I have bought twice! I usually like to try new scents. It is originala and unique. I can ay with confidence that it reminds of no other perfume.

Much better that Cool Water, which, though pleasant, is insipid and overused. Good Life is warm, friendly, and welcoming. I especially love that figgy note.

Please Davidoff bring back this scent. I only remember it smelled warm and cosy, unassuming. Best smell of Davidoff.

This really reminds me of one of my faves, Door Dolce Vita EDT. Love this.

I don't get much fig here,as I get from for example thierry mugler womanity or elie saab resort collection,but no problem For me,good life is a combination of sweet ylangylang,creamy sandalwood,spicy amber,some soft vanilla and a floral bouquet (magnolia,rose and jasmine)..this blend is sweet,warm and very rounded,cozy and airy the same time,this is an oriental floral IMO All notes appear as I wish,it's really gorgeous and soothing,bright,comforting and induces positive feelings so good life is a good name for it I believe it's wearable year round,even in summers,it's warm sweetness is such well balanced that can't become cloying,but I prefer fall for a golden cashmere like scent Longevity is very good and sillage is in the range of being noticeable without punching anybody on face I can see no similarities between this and lancome hypnose senses,which is a honeyed patchouli dominant scent and more reminds me of chanel mademoiselle.. This is a ylang-dominant scent for me. Usually that gives me quite a bit of trouble, but there is something special about this scent that keeps me inquisitively sniffing my wrist...magnolia and a touch of fig (although the fig appears only briefly in the top notes, and I genuinely wish it would hang around longer). I am really not getting enough of the base notes for my nose to identify this composition as an oriental vanilla. This is wearing like a floral oriental on me. It feels a bit retro too. I agree with tzoutzou78 who compared it to a lighter version of Tuscany Per Donna, minus all the carnation of course. It feels cleaner and more youthful. UPDATE: I found that, on hotter days, the fig note was more pronounced, and so were the base notes, which for some reason, my nose interpreted as "tonka bean". Good Life is a subtle mood-enhancing scent that shifts with the weather!

il fico, che è una delle mie note preferite, e che pur compare nella piramide olfattiva di questa meraviglia fuori produzione, io qui non lo percepisco proprio. epperò sento un cremoso ylang ylang, che pure gradisco molto, e che domina incontrastato le note di inizio conferendo all'insieme un che di fruttato. quindi ci si sposta su sentori più legnosi di sandalo e su un bel fondo ambrato. l'evoluzione è in realtà più complessa di così, ma le note che compaiono come puntini luminosi durante l'assestamento non sono per me facilmente identificabili. è un profumo dolce senza essere stucchevole, ed anche lievemente fresco. bello e adatto a tutte le temperature.

Woman in a bottle! The kind of woman that I admire and aspire to be.... kind, loyal, wise, clean, feminine, strong, elegant and put together. Whenever I click all the boxes in here for day/night and usable for all seasons, I consider the scent to be a good "all-rounder" and signature-worthy scent, and this one falls into that category for me. I understand the comparison to "Allure"... although I don ́t find them to smell the same at all, the elegant, grown-up and feminine feeling and vibe they project, are similar. (sorry about my english... not my first language)

In my opinion not a Oriental Vanilla -more a Floral to me. I think Jasmine, Rose, Pepper, sandalwood, Amber and Ylang-Ylang Stands out most. Very nice mix and a very nice every-day-scent. No sharp, heavy or edgy notes. Great lastingpower on my skin. Timeless and Lovely! Jag tycker inte detta är en Oriental Vanilla-doft utan mer en Blommig doft. Jag känner noter av Jasmin, Ros,Sandelträ, Amber och Ylang-ylang. En härlig mix och en härlig varje-dag-doft. Inga skarpa eller tunga doftnoter. Sitter otroligt länge på huden. Tidlös och suverän!

Almost has the same effect as Allure EDT but sad to say this projects weakly compared to it. I like how sensual it is and lotion like but it only lasts an hour on me. Open to swap my bottle just because it's not compatible with me staying power wise.

I love how this smells. On me I get Jasmine, ylang-ylang and vetiver. This is powdery and clean. Great for work or school. I don't get the fruit in this. I really like it and I'm planning on getting the big bottle.

This one has a lot of fig,so can someone tell me if it is very dominated by the fig note?I like fig so i am curious about it..

Clean, cozy, nice but a bit boring.

To me, this is very warm and ambery, with a spicy/sweet magnolia layer. I have a bottle that was my mothers, and when I first put a (teensy) drop on, I thought it was going to be a beast, perhaps too strong and loud. It exploded scent around me, making me immediately think I’d gotten something that wasn’t “for me”. Was surprised- and happy!- at how fast it calmed after initial application, and on me it’s lovely and very lasting on my skin. I think this is perfect for autumn, when I like “cozy” fragrances with an amber, spicy component. To me this is a bit too heavy and warm and “rounded” for summer, when I prefer a lighter, and sharper citrus or floral. A bit of pepper gives GoodLife zing, then the spicy sweetness in the magnolia, balanced nicely with the warmth of the rose and sandalwood. Floriential lovers would probably love this, even if it doesn’t fit exactly in that category for me. I don’t detect vanilla, unsure why others do... maybe it’s that fragrances that lean this direction tend to have it, to the point it’s almost expected. The lack here is most appreciated. I also get more magnolia than fig, but a realistic magnolia, and a definite rose during the dry down. Love this. Feels like a great scent for upscale office wear, when the day might lead to impromptu afternoon drinks with important clients in a dark and sophisticated bar.

I consider this blind buy unsuccessful as I expected something more potent and remarkable. Alas! No fig in there. It's creamy, it's pleasant, it's wearable, yes, but overall it's a lacklustre scent for me. I am glad I managed to sell it almost immediately.

Impulse buy. Definately not an oriental vanilla, just a straight oriental or possibly floriental. All I get is fig and sweet flowers, mixing into a liquer-like fermented booziness. That odd bitter note from Fath de Fath is there also but as they share hardly any similar notes, I'm at a loss as to the cause. Overall, it's just ok for me...it actually comes across as a little dreary and seems it could suck the good mood right out of you if you gave it a chance. Kind of like too many shots of Jack Daniels. Cheap as it may be, I actually prefer the happy fig of Halle over this concoction. But then I don't care for Cool Water Woman either so maybe Davidoff scents just aren't my thing. Since I don't like it, it probably will last for days and days on my skin. Seems like that's how it always works out. heavy sigh. This one's a pass for me. Update: Today, tons of soap in the top before drifting into foggy figgy fugue. Still not a winner.

So, I picked this up based on the reviews below. I've been looking for a fig scent that's not aquatic and thought I'd found it with Good Life. I think it's the orris root but this is a bit off for me (maybe it's more to do with the way this one has been stored since I did pick it up second hand). I didn't get the juicy fig I was expecting and this is like nothing in my collection. It's not quite a woody smell and not fruity--hard to place. I'm still not sure I genuinely like it as it is. That said, layered with a juicy fig frag (I had Sea Salt and Fig on hand) and this is remarkable--that makes me think it's actually my bottle gone off.

Very interesting perfume... It opens with harsh sandalwood base note which last for about 10 min, and then (finally) top notes appear! I love sweet fig and ylang-ylang in it. UPDATE: Good staying power, 6 hours later I can still smell it on my wrist.

well as this pefume had so many glowing reviews I thought I would give it a try! Nothing like em! far too far too potent! can't even make out any notes??? smells like a mess to me :( upset :(

Yes, fig is very dominant I remember. It makes it feel warm, sweet, musky, heavy. Too heavy for my taste.

This fragrance was definitely tossed in the wrong category, because it is clearly a light summery floral fruity scent with an aquatic element,just like all the Davidoffs. Fig and ylang make it very interesting and extremely likeable. Again, just like everything from this house, Good Life is pretty universal: you can wear it with a dress or jeans on a summer day, but you can also wear it to the gym without any concerns of offending anyone's olfactory senses. Very natural smelling with a decent sillage and longevity....another reason I love the Davidoff house. In terms of its sillage and the way it radiates from the skin, a very similar feel to Echo. Actually, I am going to wear it to the gym today...it's always motivating and inspiring to smell good. A word of advice: I know it was discontinued, and for some reason a lot of Ebayers think now it's worth is golden and they can do their gouging with trippled prices. As much as I like it, do not pay more than $30 for a large bottle.....it is still very casual scent that is absolutely replaceable. Unless you become really obssessed with it.

Shoot me, but there is no fig in there. No fig I know from Womanity or lovely Italian Fig from the Body Shop. But is very well blended, I cannot separate the notes. It is very late 90's, maybe has something to do with Allure. I remember one of my class mates using this. She was from quite a wealthy home, always good looking, well dressed and smelt. It was also in every glossy magazine then. I could not afford it then but I promissed to myself I would buy it one day. And I bought, years later, off ebay. While it was to be discontinued but still available and not very expensive. It is just a good life, my good teenage life. Bitter sweet memories of carefree life. Sprayed it today just to check if I want to keep it, if I still like and want to use it. And yes:)

i found a 3.4 bottle at abargain price,and after reading all these different review, idecided to give this atry.First all i got is very flowery .heavy jasmine,and magnolia,.this one reminded of a lighter version of tuscanny per donna.tuscanny has for of a spicy note though,because of the carnation.unfortunatelly in my skin,there is no vannilla.. i wonder why this is oriental vannilla..it is definitely a floreiantal..very light one not an offensive scent, but not suitable for summer time,as it mingles with my skin chemistry and gives me tha old ladies smell..in my honetst opinion this isnt something originila ,there are amillion scents like this...not so sad that its discontinued...

I wish they would bring this back. This is one of my favorite fragrances ever. I remember the Amber was so good. I really can't attest to any other notes because it's been so long. I have purchased 2 seperate unopened ones from eBay and unfortunately something had turned sour in it Maybe if we all message Davidoff they will finally bring it back. I sent one. If you guys have any close suggestions to something similar and available I'd love to hear them.

I had this once upon a time. I think it was a coincidence that I even got it, but wearing it, I always got compliments from strangers, telling me that I smelled wonderfully, and this is the main reason for my remembering this scent. I would like to have it again, to see how I feel about it, now... I am very new in this more professional world of fragrances, but I wish I could clearify my experiences like most people here can, knowing about the different notes in a scent, and so on. I hope to learn it eventually.

Like the others mentioned: Not an oriental vanilla. First impression was: WTF. But hey, I try it a second time and I now know, what went wrong: It's a summer frag! And now it's autumn and my nose is already preparing for winter. I get a very strong, buttery ylang ylang right from the start, with the sweet fig and the sandelwood base it's definitely summer in the bottle. I look forward to next summer testing it in the heat. :)

My desperate efforts to pick up the men's continue, the holy grail of fragrance for me, however this one came up, I thought, why not. What a beautiful fragrance, has it matured, or were fragrances from this time just designed to last longer? It's sweet, warm, soothing, comfortable, but sexy in equal measure, it just works. Personally I think the ylang ylang note is more potent than the fig, which is there, but subtle.

This is gorgeous! Shame on me, I have TWO bottles of this beautiful fragrance and have had them for over two years and have only gotten around to wearing it today. It is so rich and luxurious, like Casmir but a lot more body and the fig note is sumptuous. I feel like a queen wearing this. It is getting harder and harder to find so if you have a chance, snap it up, you will not regret it.

Mr. Bourdon is an elegant "nose". This fragrance is a little gem. I have a small bottle and I'm not sure that the product is still good, but when it settles on my skin I feel fig, woods. And it becomes so cozy, so positive, not for a dark lady, not gothic. Sunny, smiling. The name is perfect to describe the mood of this fragrance: good life!

This one is very soft, warm and cosy. Not very sweet. It has been a while since I smelled it but came into my way again some days ago. Actually forgot how nice it smells. Don't know why but I smell also soft vanilla in it (as this is not mentioned in the list of fragrance notes!). Something to use when going to bed.....! Lovely!

This one smell very fine... the best i smelled of Davidoff. In my opinion its airy -especially for a oriental vanilla- and notable at same time; attractive, with a confident "aura" :) I like to smell my wrist when i try it :) Very suitable for daytime... and work ambient... and could be for some date too :) Its a balanced scent

I have been wearing this on and off since it hit the market. I think it is a great go to fragrance. It opens with jasmine, but after the opening it is so well blended I cannot pick out the notes. The sillage and longevity are average. Unfortunately, Davidoff took it out of their line and the eBay pricing is high.

The fig-scent!An autumn love-story, a discontinued one I'm afraid. Very comfortable and comforting, a bit gourmand, original and confident. Its only problem is that it feels too-content. I like creations that include more questions than answers. This one doesn't trigger much thought.

I just can't decide on this one .... so many notes in there that I should love, but it comes off as synthetic and strong, sometimes. Every now and then I give it another try, and at first sniff its enticing, but then... it seems to disappoint. Maybe it just doesn't suit my chemistry.

Ok I gave this another shot..It is ALOT better after it simmers down for a good 30 minutes. The hairspray note is gone by then. Then it is a warm, creamy scent. Not something I'll enthusiastically reach for, but not a total waste of money after all.
