Hot Water

living in the dead center in the state of California.. We get all four seasons thru out the valley. So being from here, I’ve learned to collect a new ‘daily driver’ for both cool/COLD and also another for warm/HOT. So seeing that the weather is getting as cold as it does get hot. I’ve been scoping this one out for a while. At least during my warmer seasons when I was using Cool Water. Which I thought was okay. It came in handy and was strong but on skin I wasn’t liking it at all. So I kept it in my car. However this HOT WATER in comparación is really living up to the title. Don’t get it twisted, this really does smell like the other end of the Davidoff spectrum. To me it smells like cinnamon gum but in a cozy kind of way. The colour red really delivers that notion. I’ve gotten only compliment by a coworker but they were really taken back by the scent. As I was too. I would say this is more of a ‘what’s up bro’ kinda vibe. I wouldn’t wear this on a date but if it was all I had in the moment. I would be totally set for a good time. But if I’m at work, going to ‘kick it with the boys’ after type of day. This is perfect for these cooler / cold months ahead. I’m def gunna use up this whole bottle by spring. For 30$ it’s a solid choice. I got lucky and got the last bottle so if you’re curious get it. Who would I recommend this to? Well I’m 30 and I feel like it fits me perfectly. Not too young, not too old. I smell like a proper young man. Energetic but stoic. If you’re 15 to 25. There should be no qualms. It’s pretty strong so be strategic or carry it with you in a Doppkit. The reason I say that is the DRY DOWN is the best part. Smells like rich mineral, the benzoin on here is like creamy stone just radiating off your presence. That being said if your 35 and up , you better put on your old leather jacket and boots bcoz you’re about to bring back your old hard rock days. Really cool bottle. I’m ‘wid it’ w/ this one. 7.4/10.0

Purchased a bottle 8-9 months ago.two words Wormwood and pimento blast.Amazing warm night fragrance perfect for a date or just a night out alone.This is probably my comfort fragrance if there’s something ever like that.This fragrance creates the image of exiting a 5 star hotel walking around a new city at night getting buzzed,drunk and eating out in the local restaurants.This fragrance reminds me of the cozy atmosphere in the hotel and city scenes of lost in translation (2003). The scent one of the best and well crafted ones of the century imo. It’s not a 15 hour fragrance perhaps it’s only 10-12 hours in terms of longevity but that varies from batches I believe. It’s inoffensive and lovely. It’s warm,sweet,somewhat mossy,woody for sure but not dark woody,kind of resinous and the patchouli just compliments the overall fragrance and glues it all together.There’s a small vanilla like nuance in it but not a strong one. It’s perfect for young adults. Reminds me of moschino boy toy but without the pepper and rose but the basil gives it a small hint or edge of sharpness which is well blended Not a compliment getter until you overspray but few sprays aren’t a bad thing This fragrance defines that a fragrance doesn’t have to last eternally to be good And it’s the best mix of natural smelling and synthetic smelling notes it smells more natural to me. Overall rating Price:10/10 Longevity:8/10 Sillage:7.5/10 Blind buy worthy:60/100

This is probably my favorite scent I've worn to date. It's gotten me the most compliments of anything I've worn. Spicy, masculine, really brings out your natural man scent. It's very much for nighttime wear though, a little too strong to wear during the day. Hot Water also has great longevity. I've gone out and woken up the next day, 12+ hours after I applied the cologne and I can still smell it on me and on my pillow. It's fantastic. ***Review update 4/14/19 (original written in 2014 wow!) I just felt compelled to add to my review here since I'm so surprised that this cologne does not get much love in general. For those of you looking to wear a scent for "the club," this is a perfect fragrance. To date I haven't found a better scent for this purpose (although to be honest, I haven't looked that hard), far outperforming the likes of the more popular Versace Eros. Projection/sillage and longevity are a 10/10 for this fragrance, and since my review 5 years ago this is still my top compliment-getter among scents I've worn. It's oriental/spicy and undeniably masculine. To me, it is the gold standard in that scent category until I find something that matches it. Further, what's great is that not only is it inexpensive, but hardly anyone knows about it or wears it.

Clean & Soapy Amber ROUGE SPICE with Paprika, Red Hots & Dr. Pepper Accents. For this 2009 Amber-Spicy hidden gem, if you think of a red bar of soap, maybe artisanal, that has notes of paprika, Red Hots & Dr. Pepper in it, but it's still always a soap, you'll be close. In the first couple of minutes before the spray dries there's some masculine leaning fresh-ozonic tones. Once the spray dries and the sillage opens up, I can feel the fresh & warm spicy aromatics that include some clean, green, fresh, faintly soapy and rouge-leaning tones. The paprika note adds a dash of fiery spiciness and tilts the spices rouge with a hint of Red Hots, and in the base there's a lovely benzoin-styrax blend that give a clean amber glow and brings a hint of Dr. Pepper. Into the drydown, the resins blend with spices and also bring a slightly sweet, near-ginger vibe. Overall I get a clean, rouge-leaning spicy soapy scent with a nice dash of fieriness that fits well with the name. This has average or slightly above average performance for year round wear. This is an affordable, easy reach for a clean & spicy vibe. I'm a fan of clean and spicy scents, so it's a love for me. Enjoy!

I think this is an especially unique fragrance. It is not like Xeryus Rouge, though people commonly associate the two in some way. There is that pimento note they share, but Hot Water does something completely different. I love both. Hot Water remains clear and watery (like water); I even smell a reminiscence of that rare smell of evaporating water, and this is NOT the same as the common "aqua" type of smell in a thousand fragrances in the last decade. The wormwood plays a starring role, and I never get the artificial or plastic smell some reviewers dislike. This never comes off as cheap on my skin. I can see how others might wear this differently; my skin is relatively oily and really tends to hold on to fragrances. This is a standout fragrance. I cannot compare it with anything else I have smelled. Completely unique and good. I just ordered a second full bottle.

People are confusing. I love this fragrance and is one of my favorites. i dont understand why its so underrated, for that price, the smell is amazing, bottle and atomizer are 10/10s. Only negative thing about it is that it doesn't last very long so you'll have to spray quite a bit of it, and for that price that isnt that bad. It also is a bit confusing for what occasions it should we used. From my experience it is suitable for all seasons except maybe hot summer and is better at night. It also can work as an office fragrance, an everyday one or even formal events. I've worn born in roma intensely, coral fantasy, Versace pour homme, jpg elixir, Armani code, dior sauvage and more but this by far got me the most complements, as well as people sniffing me.

I wasn't expecting much, so the surprise at how incredibly awesome this scent is was all the better! Funny how people are comparing Cool Water and Hot Water. Um ... people, cool and hot are opposites! Do you get it? OPPOSITES! That would mean that they are not supposed to be even similar in aspect. Since that is out of the way, let's move onto the fragrance. Hot Water is a yummy peppery scent, yes, but do I detect a small amount of cinnamon in there? Most assuredly, I do. Since it is not listed, I would wager to guess that it is a combination of the bitter wormwood meshing with the styrax. The scent is extraordinary and well beyond what I had anticipated! Thumbs way up! Excellent work, Davidoff!

Let me start by saying "Wow". How will I describe this fragrance? Ok, Bitter and then sweet. First spray I got basil and something spices and some kind of oriental thing. After five minutes sweet benzoin come out with exotic patchouli plus a little bit tobacco. Sweet and spice and sweet and sweet again. But in a men way not girly,not at all. This will fit for men at any age.When I close my eyes I see a guy with mystery in himself, hot, sexy, calm, confidence with his attitude. Longevity is great 6-8 hours on me(oily skin). 3-4 spray in daily and add a little more at night. Sillage is good, bold and flow in every way May I change the name from Hot Water to Hot Stuff ? Really like it.

Davidoff Hot water is a weird fragrance for me because I have love-hate relationship. First, Its a really spicy fragrance when I spray, get the pimento and bezoin and it slowly become sweet but not thsat much. It's a mysterious fragrance for mysterious people. Really a cold weather scent fall and winter =Opposite of Cool Water for spring and summer Day and night, for any occasion This fragrance last a long time 6 to 8 hours and stay on the clothes for weeks (if you have difficulties to love the smell that can be a huge turn off) Good projection Got few compliments if wear it right half spray on the chest and 2 on the neck...more its cloying and you'll get an headache 7/10

To me this smells like a dilf. It’s such a yummy men’s fragrance and I just feel so chilled out sniffing it. Don’t be intimidated by the notes, to me it’s quite fresh and has that masculinity most men’s fragrances have with blended notes that aren’t so easy to identify unless you have lots of experience. It wouldn’t say this is a spicy fragrance because it’s quite well blended. It smells like taking a hot shower with men’s shower gel and the evaporation has the scent of the gel within it. So so good. Id love if a man I was seeing wore this. It isn’t made for a juvenile man but if you like it, be confident in your choice and wear it!

Super generic. You would swear you are spraying a NEW version of Axe on yourself. Remember how popular Cool Water was 15 years ago? Having said that, this is Fresh in a sweet sort of way with a gentle spice. Perhaps an oriental, I love this scent. It smells great. It has a similar personality to Prada Lunna Rosa Sport, Ferrari Man In Red, etc, although it has completely different notes listed. (Now, now, I didn't say identical, I said "similar personality".) Although the dry down is darker with Benzoin than the other two. Totally synthetic, totally smells great. Sexy, I love it, for $20 you can't go wrong.

Despite lots of people don't like it and find it chemical, I don't share those reservations. I would hate it if it would be artificial, but it is luckely not (I would not use it otherwise). I think its a wonderful nice n warm oriental fragrance. I bought 3 bottles already. Good longevity n silage. A good friend uses it also and the perfume is, despite his high skin acidity, also good but gets darker sooner and more peppery spiced. At my skin it stays fresh very long. Also its Big brother Cool Water I like much. Thumbs up for also this one!

This was a dumb reach for me a few years ago and it did its job perfectly, even gave me a few unexpected compliments. My batch gave me decent longevity as well, I would say about 6ish hours if I remember correctly. It's a good value-price fragrance, just don't expect some miraculous potion that will blow everyone away and don't wear it in hot weather cause it gets obnoxious especially in tight places. If you like peppery fragrances and need to spray something on before going to the store or running some quick errands this is your go to.

When first applied to skin, Hot Water is a fiery burst of pimento and patchouli, but when those flames fade, it gets to be this powdery, spicy, absinthe, almost cacao-y scent. This isn't a bad thing, I actually like it, however it's not exactly as "hot" as it is when it's first applied (It is still very spicy though). It does smell very slightly synthetic, but not enough to make me dislike the fragrance. I do not think it smells like Axe/Lynx, but I can see where people are coming from with that description. I love it either way.

On the contrary to my catagorization of this fragrance as more suitable to be worn at night, I actually used an entire 60ml bottle in no time... as my gym bag cologne. Maybe it's because it's powerful and cuts through the chlorine smell that still lingres even after showering? Anyway... It's warm, spicy, oriental, oddly sexy (girls have told me that not just me) and I love this...total departure from cool water which you would expect and much nicer in my opinion. Massive projection, never overpowering great stuff.

pretty close to Emmanuel's Ungaro's nice Apparition for the flowery & powdery start off side except it is followed by a warmer, hotter side. I could not choose between those 2. Have the hot water fragragrance for more casual days & activities to keep aromatic more distinguished Ungaro for special evenings & events:-)Conclusion, this hot water is as good as cool water. 1 for hot summer days & the other one for cooler days. No idea why beauty shops will not sell it no more & how come it is so under rated. I love it.

I use Cool Water, but I tried Hot Water recently and I love it more than Cool Water. Especially when it dries down on my skin. The morning after I could still smell it on my wrist, and I just couldn't resist sniffing it throughout the day. Warm spicy is exactly how I would describe it! Now looking at other reviews, you can clearly tell that it doesn't necessarily mean you'll like this if you're a fan of Cool Water. So definitely try it out before blind buying (but to be honest, I never blind buy anyways).

Might not make you stand out in a crowd but it will definitely get you compliments in the office. A subtle very mildly spicy oriental fragrance with a wormwood twist and benzoin making it smell super sweet without venturing anywhere near cloying, feminine or gourmand’s territories. It’s a very light fragrance. An EDP would be amazing but I’ve only managed to find EDT and as it’s so light I find myself constantly reapplying. But it layers well with lots of others and it’s so cheap.

If you can get past the low longevity and moderate sillage at best, I think it's a great one for it's price range. I'm really loving the chemical but clean smell, and halfway through my second bottle. You won't smell like everybody else yet it's familiar and likeable enough that probably nobody will complain. Lasts decent on clothes. Overall decent dumb grab and blind buy. Would love if they came up with an edp or even extrait some time in the future though.

So I just smelled this side by side with the Enrique Iglesias night adrenaline And by accident in my spraying frenzies realize that these two are 75% similar and both smell really good..If someone out there owns both I would love your personal feedback on that thank you!!! I bought my first bottle and it did very well. Others say that it is a cold weather fragrance, but it can be used during hot weather. Just lessen the number of sprays. I sprayed 3. 1 on my chest and 1 on each shoulder and it performed well under hot Philippine weather. Good blind buy.

I love growing chilis, eating chilis and wearing chili based fragrances. This fragrance is the perfect counterweight to Cool Water; CW is green and HW is red, CW is relaxed HW is bold. Great projection and longevity (8-10 hours for me.)

This is an amazing fragrance and way better than the overrated Cool Water. It has a candy kind of smell but with a lot of spicyness. I wish I had it, but it was sold out at the store I went to. 9.5/10

It's a semi-spicy, semi-sweet, warm fragrance that projects pretty good and last for a long time, gives you compliments, and you can get it for a very cheap price. What is there not to like?

I apologize in advance as i do not wish writing negative reviews and usually i would avoid doing so, but in some cases even less pleasant words must be written. i actually own several other Davidoff fragrances and i can't remember a time when i was unhappy or unsatisfied with my purchase, some i have open for years and their performance is still fairly good and mostly unchanged. i had the original Cool Water and own a recently bought bottle, i can feel the wind of changing times but still essentially this is the same salty marine fragrance. i actually sniffed Hot Water once it was released and had few samples, which were impressive at the time, so i used to carry a positive memory of it, and once it became widely available and affordable in my country i purchased a full bottle, expecting it to be indeed a warm red aromatic manly cologne as i remembered it. however faint memory and reality don't always meet even and in this case, i am writing after a week in use, and also reading the bottom of the review section as i wondered deeply if the possibility of my bottle being a bad performing sample, a one of a kind, sadly it seems not. the Opening is disclosing that mixture of Paprika and Basil but very soon i notice more and more of the Benzoin taking over as all the tones collapse into each other, what remains is very faint and very manly and powdery near the skin scent, i actually got compliments right after spraying, where sillage must have been powerful to pass. but and the but is emphasized, the same person wasn't able to tell she smells much after a hour and even two hours when i was pushing my perfumed hand to her nose, the reaction was of: "There is something..." not a very complimenting reaction any more, and also it's not me suddenly becoming nose blind to this potion. so after less than a hour Sillage becomes minimal and closet to skin where it stays for 2-3 hours until it merges with my own non washed body and sweat mixture, it is masculine, more manly than my own sweat, but... again, i am not interested in making impression of some unclear sweaty aromatic guy, or other i would call it, the smell of wearing an unfresh shirt the day after the sweat dried out and settled. if this was the target of the nose who created, i guess it is a success, otherwise, i don't find the merit to find better words to describe it. i hoped it would grow on me, after 4 hours to 6 it's only very faint hint of the base notes. and that's all. end. i would say that it wouldn't last even a medium length working day, not to mention a working day that doesn't finish at home. where should i wear it to though? Short working sessions, non offensive in an offensive way... going out for shopping, exactly the time that would pass until i forget that i wear any fragrance. perhaps it was reformulated to pointlessness, as the ancient reviews already hint that it wasn't a good performer to begin with. i would like to mention that it has nothing in common with Azzaro Elixir, except the red bottle... that latter is super aromatic and great performer. i don't find it close to Xeryus Rouge either, it's not even in the same class. if anything, Hot Water reminds me the most another disappointment which i wrote about and it's Insurrection II Dark, by Reyane Tradition. where an overall faint mixture of collapsing aromatics into a faint manly powdery body scent is obtained. again i guess the red bottle makes large part of the impression. another failed red which i have in mind is Jacomo Rouge, however to be fair Hot Water is even a better performer than these two. Conclusion: Poor performing and short lasting Red and very Manly aromatic, which could have been much much more but wasn't released as a power horse years ago. Longevity: 3-4 hours at most on skin and close to skin Projection: Impressive in the first 10 minutes, afterwards becomes intimate and sniff the skin scent. Nose: Nice sweet and aromatic, warm, whenever i manage to catch some of it from my skin. but too little of it. Value: for 18-25$ i can't recommend it, perhaps at this price and value for money is good for a birthday present to a teenager or a young man as somebody wrote here (a teenager of the kind you are not going to meet again). but i wouldn't waste anymore money on it as i feel i wasted mine.

Mexican spicy food and Martini are good examples. Young people and infants will certainly not like it. HEART NOTES - After 15 minutes you start to smell a very heavy Paprika but well tamed by Patchouli. You don't get a hot Paprika... you get a somewhat sweet Paprika that I consider very agreeable, probably the best part of the fragrance evolution. I would describe the main note as recently cooked Spanish-style "Pimientos de Padrón"... Paprika anyway. Probably the first-time user may expect to find a scent that would fit a hot badly behaved rebel James Dean type, and you get a humorous but firm middle-aged elegant Sean Connery. BASE NOTES - The final evolution gives you a mild sweet resinous Stirax blended with strong benzoin. You end up with an average sillage, average longevity, and a sweet/elegant/agreeable but inoffensive dry down. SUMMARY - It is a masculine fragrance but some people may judge it unisex. It is pretty unique but you may get some vibes from other scents like the unisex fragrance Hermessence Paprika Brasil from Hermès in my opinion; others may have a different opinion. I recommend you to use it during Autumn, Spring and Summer nights. I do not think it is a clubbing fragrance, but it would certainly fit elegant people playing Jim Rummy or Bridge. It does remember me La Nuit de L'Homme. Am I the only one? My overall rating: 7.6/10.0 I like this fragrance (but I do not love it). Can a woman pull off Hot Water? ohhhya! Perhaps it is my Medeternarean skin that reacts so nicely to this spicy fragrance... or maybe it is just made for me but this baby has won my heart. I am surprised by the negative comments though i do understand how some can be over/Under whelmed with this frag. When testing Hot Water, it is important to not compare it to Cool water lest you want to be disillusioned. They smell very dissimilar . Some like it Hot and my skin sure seems to since on me it smells fresh yet balmy and is a great alternative to my usual feminine florals and vanillas. I am entranced with this fume. ( perhaps because my late father wore it and it brings back fond memories?). It has replaced CH in my wardrobe ( Carolina Herrera) which is a spicy and rather sharp scent. This one has added warmth and radiates beautifully on my skin. My nose does not detect any particular note when I wear this: it is more of a empowered feeling I get from it. It gets me going when I have a long day ahead of me and I wear it at home for me myself and I.and we all love it ;).To me it is a scent of nature, of empowerment and comfort. Even though I got many compliments on it I do not wear it out of my home since it is quite potent and more of a therapeutic aid than simply a pleasant scent. I am enjoying my 100ml which I got for next to nothing but would not repurchase. I guess its a 'kick' for now! This here kitty is not affraid of Hot Water! :)

This is a great oriental spicy alternative for those that may not like the geranium and cactus dominance in Givenchy's Xeryus Rouge. Instead, what you get in Davidoff Hot Water is the same pepper heavy, herbal, spicy masculine powerhouse in Xeryus Rouge but without any floral embellishment; allowing the basil, patchouli and wormwood to standout under the pepper and balance it into more of a minimalist scent. Longevity is extremely good on this, 8-10 hours,(I've gotten as much as 14) is quite standard for me after several wears and moderate to high projection without any real let up until deep into the dry-down. This one is a real performer and you can expect 2-3 sprays to last all day or all night. The scent itself is not gorgeous or particularly sensual and won't be considered that appealing by most, but its very masculine and warming in late fall and the heart of winter and seems to really steam off the skin and present a rather aggressive first-impression. If you love spice and herbs but without a lot of frills, this is a great one to look into. Its price point is quite low considering just how effective it performs and it's often readily available at discounters. Don't ever consider paying MSRP. A better value than Xeryus Rouge, all things considered. Overall 7.75

Really been enjoying this and this a very strong like on the verge of a love !!! This is a scent that won’t blow you away as it’s not very dense,unique or natural smelling but it IS a very pleasant everyday/dumb reach fragrance that’s inexpensive and versatile enough to be a casual/signature scent as it works all year round !! Hot water as many have mentioned is not a HOT/Spicy scent but to my nose a very light,fresh,semi sweet,powdery and even a touch barbershop type of scent. This scent doesn’t progress a whole lot but as it dries down it does get less fresh and more on the powdery side of things!! Again... not a super unique scent but a very simple and pleasant scent that even with its simplicity becomes very addicting. Performance on this is below average in the projection category but it does last on my skin 6-10 hours which makes this perfect for work as it’s inoffensive and light. It’s also a scent that’s very similar to fragrances I’ve smelled before (Joop Jump,Pi Neo,Armani Code Sport,Tommy Bahama Very Cool and in the very deep drydown I get a fresher less sweet Lolita Lempicka Eau Masculine) Overall rating-7.75 out of 10 !! I’m really digging this one but it’s missing just a tad bit of something to make this a love for me ... Price is great on this one !!!

My brother ragebaited me into reviewing this. "This is your fragrance! You should review HOT WATER. Come on, you love HOT WATER." No, I do not love Hot Water. It's FINE, pleasant even. "Hot Water" is more like "Lukewarm Water", I respect it for trying though. I see how other people would like it, but I just kinda am... indifferent to it... but I don't hate it? Not many people will wear this, you will be wearing something not-so-common and your girl might love it on a date night, but... there's just so many other fragrances to wear, you're not wearing something truly worth it unless you're just a diehard Hot Water aficionado. Not worth the buy if you don't swear by this, or you just didn't like anything else at your local store. The pepper's there, it's not as spicy as you would hope though. Basil's here too (very good basil!), I like how it manifests. The base notes also provide a bit of needed structure. This is a sorta unique choice, it's cheap, and uncommon in the wild, but this is sorely because NOONE TALKS ABOUT IT. So... I encourage dialogue. Talk about it more, talk about Davidoff Hot Water. Clearly, this has a niche and people could be more interested in this one.

don't ever never make my mistake,by purchasing any, really any perfume depending on the initial impression of it. That what happened to me one day,I went to the store to buy a perfume for nights out, I sampled three : Dolce & Gabbana the one, Twin by Azzaro,and unfortunately;this one, really I was impressed by Hot Water, the other two was very good especially D&G, but finally I decided to pick the Hot Water ( I already owned the Cool Water, and I said to my self:What a marvelous collection if I had Cool and Hot at the same wardrobe). I returned to home, and I sniff it again, nothing change,I'm still impressed. Next night, I put that on me and went out with friends, after less than 10 min of application,the smell turned in a disgusting scent that I cannot stand it , pepper and paprika, reminded me of the smell of Lays chips bag when you open it, thanks God the projection is not loud, and doesn't remain for more than half hour in best case Unusual for my perfumes, the bottle has been stored in my wardrobe since 2 years ago,neither I can use it,nor I can give it for anyone as a gift Scent: 4/10 Projection:3/10 Longevity:6/10

Compared my 2009 batch to a 2022 batch. 1 spray on each arm, from the same distance, on the same spot. The 2009 batch seems to smell a little more intense/rich, more floral, whereas the 2022 batch seems to smell more calmed down and a little more masculine, less floral and a little sweeter. Overall the 2022 batch seems to smell a little weaker. However those differences are very minimal and require focused sniffing. After a good whiff my conclusion is that I like the 2022 batch more. I can also conclude that there has been a reformulation somewhere between 2009 and 2022, which is also visible from the bottle as it lacks the original matt black sides, which isn't a bad change at all in my opinion. The bottle looks as good as always, maybe even better now that it's the beautiful deep red all over. I find Hot Water one of Davidoff's best releases and I'm glad they didn't ruin it over the years, unlike Adventure. The warm spicy and powdery smell makes it a good choice for the winter season. It's nothing really impressive, it's not a beast performer, but it's good enough. And last but not least, it's very cheap.

This is more like "Dry Water" which I suppose is what happens if you heat water up enough. The spiciness isn't gourmandy at all -- it is the dryness of fresh black pepper that makes you want to sneeze. I couldn't smell the paprika accord in this, but today I happen to have a fresh pepper and smelling the stem when I tore it off, I got it -- I was confused because 'paprika' to me is a rich, oily, Hungarian smell and Hot Water doesn't have that. What it has is green notes with that nose-tingling pepperiness, which makes for a nice CGI synthcapsicum. The pepper-styraxy base accord evokes images of tesselated triangles to me, like a polygonal model with sharp edges -- google "low poly bell pepper" and imagine one rotating over a synthwave landscape and you have a picture of this fragrance. Even the year checks out right? A 2009 product inspired by an 80s classic -- that's synthwave! This is pretty low performance too -- after the rotating pepper fades, the low-poly background remains as a nice, non-intrusive resiny overlay.

Opens mildly green, bitter and a bit powdery. I wouldn't call the "heat" in this paprika or pimento, but rather a cracked pepper sort of feeling in my nostrils, but the powder subdues the sneeze that would typically follow. Once it dries down, all I get is a slightly woody, sweet powder that I don't find very intriguing, but my wife does. So this is my bedtime scent now. She loves it, so guess I'm stuck buying another bottle when this runs out. Longevity isn't bad, lasting about 5 hours on my skin, with a fairly good projection for the first 90 mins. On my shirt, it lasts a couple of days, but faintly. I've only worn this during the Southern California winter, and it's fine, day or night. Might try during the summer, but the powdery sweetness doesn't really sound appealing all hot. But who knows, it might shine bright under those circumstances. I paid $20 for the 3.7oz bottle, but in my opinion, it isn't even worth that. Don't let my inexperienced nose deter you from trying this. It's worth a spritz.

This is a nice mens fragrance if you like to keep things simple and smell good. It doesn't seem to contain a lot of depth but it smells nice. I like the subtle smell of Basil in this one because its a note that I'm not familiar with in fragrances but it works in this scent. This isn't as spicy as i originally thought it would be considering the name is "Hot Water" but i still enjoy it though. I think that Davidoff could have stayed more true to the theme of Hot water if there was more heat and less Benzoin making this smell sweet but all around its a good scent for younger guys and men in an older age bracket. The bottle matches the name more than the scent does. This doesn't have very long staying power on my skin but has held up fairly well on my clothes. It seems to have dried down to a clean mens soap smell. This would make a perfect scent for a young man just starting out with fragrances IMO I bought my bottle for $20.00 :)

First whiff, lots of spice! after an hour or so it's sweet and warm! its definitely what i'd call a oriental spicy. Its nothing like cool water and the name suits it perfectly, its completely the opposite! Although vanilla, musk, tabacco, etc are not listed it does smell very masculine. whatever scents they mixed to concoct hot water, seemes to give the warmth and masculinity you'd want from an oriental spice. it smells sexy and exotic and very manly. it doesnt have a huge sillage but if your a sexy man...shouldnt need it right? a woman should smell your scent when she gets close to you, or when you lean over to whisper in her ear... =D it gives her a tease/forward of what her beds going to smell like after sex! if you want something for the ladies, afforadable, attractive bottle, warm and spicy... then this is perfect! 8/10 tip: use moisturizer/lotion with this and it will last!

A very good fragrance for a low price. Definitely a cool weather fragrance and not really as dazzling or as interesting as the warm weather scent: “Cool Water” from the same fragrance house. There’s nothing in this scent which is not pleasant and as a whole I like it. However this is a bit generic to my nose and not particularly groundbreaking. An easy blind buy and I do recommend it if it’s on special. It’s not very strong and doesn’t project that much. The scent doesn’t really project much after 3-4 hours, but does remain a pleasant skin scent on my skin for at least 6 hours or so. For some reason, my own skin chemistry seems to work well with this fragrance. The fragrance does cling quite strongly to clothes. I got a bottle in 2010 and another bottle this year. I think the newer version smells a bit better. A strong like from me, but not a love.

Not all perfumes are made to be showstoppers, and Hot Water plays like the polite Joel Goodsen who doesn't want to wreck his future. It's a light and transparent oriental fougère with aromatics on top (artemisia, just a vague whisper of lavender), followed by a warmer ambery sweetness that isn't trying to impress anyone. What is it doing? It's trying to fill a niche. The nine to five salaryman niche. The family man in middle management who oversees seven employees in his small department and needs to have all the numbers crunched and delivered to the exec by four p.m. It's a fragrance that submits a gentle sweetness, a gentle lilt that smells professional and won't offend. It's pretty good at doing that.

This is quite an underrated fragrance in my opinion, probably because it's predecessor was so popular. I'm on my third day trying this (I bought a 110ml for next to nothing) and find it to be quite the opposite of what i was expecting it to be. There is definitely a bit of spicy peppiness to it but it is also very sweet. Unlike "Cool Waters" which can be a little overpowering, this is a calm reserved scent. I'd recommend it for winter time, it is also fine for office wear. From reading rosembloom's review down below, I agree, would be hot on a woman, especially a Spanish Señorita! Pleasantly surprised!

Blind bought it because it was relatively cheap, and since I love Cool Water, I thought there'd be a bit of that DNA in this one. It is ofcourse nothing at all like CW besides the name and bottle shape. At first sniff I was not a fan - all I got was syrupy sweetness, which was quite off-putting and stopped me from giving this a proper wearing. However, the sweetness does fade somewhat and the paprika note follows through to add a nice, warm, spicy, feel. Pair this with a comfy, woolly jumper on a chilly autumn or winter day and it's sure to make your special someone want to cosy up to you.

I'm not a scent expert and often buy blind, based on reviews on this and other sites. This is just 'OK' in my opinion. Initialy this is more of a 'fresh' scent for me with spicy undertones as it dries down which is pleasant enough. Not a favourite of mine but will do for everyday use until it runs out although I wouldn't buy it again. This decision is based on the longevity and silage which isn't great in my opinion. As a man, I don't carry a handbag and my pockets aren't big enough to carry this around in order to reapply during he day as is required with this.

This was the very first fragrance i ever owned.I still find this cologne legendary and very unique.It's a spicy and sweet fragrance at the same time and I highly recommend using it on Fall because the smell really fits with the weather of Autumn.Longevity is 2 to 3 hours on skin and 4-5 hours on clothes.Altough it's still a great deal for it's cheap price.I got lots of compliments with this fragrance back in the first years of highschool.I would still recommend it especially if you are searching for a budget fragrance.

I was in boots when I tried a tester and man I was attracted to it immediately. This is a cant go wrong fragrance for me and I reckon its perfect for going out at night or evening it has a strong scent but also soft in its own ways. I got about 3-5 hours with 3 sprays. It is definitely the opposite of Cool Water. I got a 60ml(2 FL OZ) for about £19 online. I cant say it smells like something ive smelt before but try a tester and im sure you would like it. I will be getting another bottle when mine is finished.
