AN ECONOMIC ROLLS ROYCE DESIGNED BY KURKDJIAN [short review] The name Silver Shadow stands for an expensive luxury car from the British car manufacturer Rolls-Royce. It was a revolutionary car and was produced for 15 consecutive years. For many enthusiasts, this 55-year-old four-wheeled gem still deserves the title of the best car in the world. It took me a long time to buy Davidoff's Silver Shadow. I have always been suspicious of any product that has the same name as another established product. But I also thought I couldn't go wrong with Francis Kurkdjian's nose and his list of notes. I just wanted to avoid another wasted blind purchase. In the end, I bought it blind some time ago and... I'm glad I did. . It opens with a very nice deep orange note. It's not a fresh, tangy young orange. It's a classic, ripe orange, as if it had been blended like a Terre d'Hermès flanker. In the heart, there is cedar. The spices, which are also present in the heart, are just right. Yes, there's saffron, but I could swear there's also a little red pepper. This phase defines the fragrance as a very well blended oriental EdT, and this impression is reinforced in the base notes. In the base, I found an ambery accord that seemed to encompass all the other notes. The finish is very pleasant, with sweet, woody amber and well-behaved patchouli. As for performance, I can only say that it is average for this type of fragrance. The presentation is subtle but perfectly acceptable. Also because of the very low price, my expectations for this fragrance were exceeded. The pleasure I get from this fragrance is above average. It is indeed a very good budget perfume. The low price may contribute to the underestimation of this Davidoff fragrance. I paid 17 euros for it and it is not a test. I like wearing it just as much as other perfumes that cost 5 times as much. I highly recommend it. For people who like comparisons, I would define it as a better version of Ambré by Baldessarini. My wife immediately noticed I was wearing a new perfume (great - it's different from any mainstream scent) and gave me lots of compliments. I must also say that only one time in ten does she make a comment about one of my perfumes. My daughter came out of her room and just asked, "Who smells so good?" Not bad for the first 5 minutes of wearing Silver Shadow. It also brings back memories of the lost V pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Valentino that I used to love so much. MY OPINION: I can hardly call it the Rolls Royce of perfumes, but it is a very good blend of citrus and woods. It's really easy to pick up for a very low price, and you can benefit from an all-round fragrance that's suitable for many situations. If you can get it as cheaply as I did, it's certainly a bargain. When ever I hear the two words Silver and Shadow put together I remember that wonderful Rolls Royce in the opening of “The VIPs”. Paul and Francis Andros are riding in the back of a Rolls from where their private helicopter has just touched down on the Heathrow tarmac. It is but a short trip from the helicopter to the sleek and modern main terminal but even this transit is done in high style. The beautiful and slightly hung over Francis is planning to fly off to Bermuda with international slightly shopworn over the hill playboy Marc Champselle leaving Billionaire tycoon husband Paul Andros in the lurch. In the back of the Silver Shadow Paul Andros unaware that his wife is leaving him gives her a parting Bulgari bracelet; it is a trifling little platinum and sapphire nothing bauble really. Later in the film as he takes his leave of her he whispers: “I hope the rubies were a success?” “Rubies?” she says in the most innocent yet biting way. Confronted yet again with the fact that he is too high-powered to have bothered to pick out his parting present for her himself. Somehow it all seems incredibly extravagant, luxe and as if it might have really happened in the real life of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Silver Shadow by Davidoff is just as extravagant, luxe and rich as anything you might see in that film. Let’s just say it is a bit of a Rolls Royce in a bottle at a Chevy price. It is resplendent in its Orientals, sturdy in its wood accords and beauteous in its presentation. The flacon is pure top of the line elegance. It is architectural with a rather deco feel and look to it. The substantial cap that clicks like it was sterling is really impressive. The juice within this ravishing bottle is nearly perfect. The bitter orange it what hits you first in the opening but fades almost instantaneously into the cedar and coriander. This lasts maybe a good ten minutes before the heart of the elixir is released. Oriental splendors abound in the heady yet never cloying display of patchouli, saffron and clove. This is what makes it smell so incredibly expensive. The dry down is equally elegant and refined in the notes of Oakmoss, benzoin, cinnamon and an affluent amber that holds and holds. It has a stunning projection and lasts a substantial 6 hours. It is so incredibly warm and comforting like a snug den in a gentleman’s club or the cozy formal comfort of the back seat of a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. FIVE PLATIUM AND RUBY...I MEAN SAPPHIRE STARS *****

The radiant sunlight flitters through the dense fog enveloping the beach alcove. You pull away for a moment just to catch your breath. The space between you feels infinite, even in its brevity. Her sweet skin, an ambered orange and cream in hue and taste - your bodies heaving in a sweat that recalls the dense earth after a saturating spring rain. You taste each other in every breath; you gaze keenly into the universe found only in the depth of a passionate embrace. Everything leading up to this moment seems inconsequential - you wish to get lost in these euphoric waves, forever. A moment of stillness seeps in - the fragrant salt water nips at your moss speckled feet as the world settles back into view. Your mind is swimming in the ambered hues of the sun glistening off her curves...this is where you belong. She playfully traces the outline of your chest as she bites her lip - this time you make her wait as you catch your breath. You lie on your back and breathe deeply - the moist patchouli mingles with the animalic clove of carnal touch...it eases your wandering mind. You gently caress her face and pull her closer for a tender kiss....her lips taste of a delightfully sinful cinnamon. You don't let her go....never let me go. Day 83 - Embrace the Madness Listening to: Florence + The Machine - Never Let Me Go Notes: I don't know what is in this that makes ladies go crazy, but it is the only fume I have ever worn that has garnered several unsolicited "you smell soooooo good" out of any other fragrance. From what I can pick out, this is a very humanesque and fleshy orange cream in the opening followed by a slightly peppery and humid clove (and saffron?) heart that lingers for hours on end. Every so often, I pick up a delectable mix of rich spices and sweet amber, while other times I get a very crisp cedar note. Up close this fume smells of strong humanesque oils from the clove and oakmoss combo - it seems a bit unsettling but it really is magical in the right setting/moment. The whole of it lasts around 8 to 10 hours and projects well throughout. Again, this is an intimate experience and remains genderless - I hope you find it as alluring as I do!

It took me a long time to buy this fragrance. I allways thought that with this notes and the nose of Francis Kurkdjian, I could not go wrong. But I was just trying to avoid another blind buy. I ended up blind buying it this week, and I am glad I did it. It opens with a very nice deep orange note. It's not a fresh zesty teenager orange. It's a classy orange as if it had been blended in a Terre d'Hermés flanker. You also feel a hint of cedar that grows in the heart notes. The spices you detect in the heart notes are just right there. Yes I can notice the strong saffron but I could swear that there is some red pepper in it as well. This stage defines this fragrance as a very well blended Oriental EDT and that impression only becomes stronger with the bottom notes. Both the cedar wood and the saffron notes endure till the bottom notes. I experienced a magnifig amber and benzoin that seemed to embrace all the other notes. The dry down is quite pleasant and consists mainly of sweet woody amber and a well behaved patchouli. As far as the perfermance is concerned I can only say that is average for this type of notes. Presentation is discreate but nice. My expectations for this fragrance were clearly exceded. The pleasure I get from this scent is quite above average. It's a VERY GOOD fragrance indeed. The low price (I paid 17 Euros for it and it's not a tester) may contribute to the (under) rating that is usually associated to this fragrance. I do enjoy wearing it as much as some fragrances costing 5 times more. I heavilly recommend it. My wife noticed imediatly that I was wearing a new fragrance (great - it's different from any mainstream scent) and just gave me a big compliment. I must also say that she only makes any type of remark regarding any perfume of mine one time out of ten. Not bad for the first 5 minutes wearing Silver Shadow. I would rate globally this fragrance with 8.0/10.0

Silver Shadow is now a cult classic, a true masterpiece. The bottle is strikingly solid, more beautifully made than one would expect. In fact, it is good enough to house a feminine perfume. This is quality stuff, and Davidoff wanted everyone to know. The fragrance? Composed by an absolute genius master perfumer, it takes its place among the half-dozen best masculines of the modern era. In structure, it flirts with the virtuoso modernist complexity of Tom Fords and the muted candied-fruit colors of Hugo Boss. Where it differs is in an interesting, powdery sweet top note and a drydown like an attenuated version of Amber with a cinnamon twist. I've never suggested any sort of fragrance to be blind-bought. But this fragrance is so criminally cheap that makes me think that I've been scammed by this industry for years! This perfume smells ten times more expensive than it actually costs, lasts twice as long as any legit fragrance Chanel and Dior ever released! Refined, elegant, and most of all a textbook example of successful top-down design. I'm not sure when exactly this perfume faded away from people's radar. I remember it had such a bombastic lunch, one that made it a must-own fragrance for any man. These days I hardly hear anyone mentioning it. I guess that this product actually became the victim of its own success. Just a glance at the notes listed above and you will realize that most of them can only be found in the niche class perfumes. Saffron is extremely expensive and you won't get a decent version of it in cheap fragrances. A High-quality clove note plus a synthetic yet comforting amber note in the base is a recipe for such a fantastic DNA that pulls compliments from total strangers yet the smell is so deep and complex that will make fraghead/snobs lose their minds over it!

This was one of the first scents I truly fell in love with, and back in the day I went through a bottle or two in a few years, long before I discovered more esoteric, less well-known scents. It reminds me of starting teaching, getting one of my first major jobs and moving overseas for the first time. This scent evokes a lot of memories and actually ushers me into a particular line of thinking I had at this time, for better or worse. This soft, muted resins, expressed through a wall of spice and citrus, works on SOOO many levels, and in many ways, this plays like a niche scent more than a designer scent. When a designer brand brings onboard a behemoth of the niche world (FK), you get these nuanced, story-telling niche scents constructed and told through a refined lens, and that's most likely what switched me off the "this is a Davidoff scent" mentality, and put me on a "yes, but Kurkdjian designed this" way of thinking. It's multi-layered, dense and uniquely rich. Even though I don't wear this one often (once every year or two), it's the type of scent I'm happy to leave, untouched, dusty on the shelf, occasionally pop the cap off and take a quick whiff, and look happily at.

A very under appreciated fragrance. Silver shadow is a very masculin scent. Full of spices and resins all tied up together with warm amber. Extremely well blended, silver shadow just screams class and maturity. The advertising campaign as seen on this site describes it perfectly. Just like in the advertisement, this scent is best suited for a charming mid 40 man. However, the physical age has nothing to do with it. It's all about your level of maturity. It has decent longevity despite a less than perfect projection. First spray seemed to have disappeared after 10 minutes of application but the second spray on the same place lasted for a decent 6+ hours. The projection is not that bad! Not all perfumes have monster projection. And I feel that in this case, a shy and reserved projection is perfect for this kind of smell. It doesn't force itself too much while alluring ladies that stray too close to you! It's called intimate projection! Dark, deep, sophisticated and fit for a gentleman, Silver shadow is a perfume from davidoff that keeps a low profile despite being all that beautiful. Which only makes it more unique and tresured by the ones who discovers it. Excellent!

Very good fragrance, and my first from Davidoff House. I really don't like Cool Water and had not ventured D. before because of that. But now that I've become more and more a benzoin and amber fan it was time to check Silver Shadow, and it does possess all the good qualities so many have talked about. It opens a bit like terre d'Hermes, passes close to La Nuit de l'Homme and then go on to a more mature and recollected scent. It is indeed ideal for the office r for when you just want to smell good without bother to spend time choosing something special for you know Silver shadow will do the job, period. For me it smells timeless, it is not modern or ancient either. I am very happy with it.

I have had the fragrance for years, and I will talk about it after trying it for a long time. The base with perfume is creativity, it is excellence, and it is the part that deserves to be talked about. A unique, elegant, luxurious, upscale, wonderful scent. This is a fragrance that does not have a similar , the smell of many spices, amber, saffron and wood, mixed professionally. Attractive smell, but not strong or repulsive or annoying. Smells very wonderful, but unfortunately without sillage or projection. A very very beautiful perfume, but no one will enjoy it, because it is a prisoner.

Very Unique fragrance for a male perfume, I have smelt this fragrance in some high end women's perfume; however, this is very masculine with Benzoin, Cedar, oak-mos and amber.... I find it very sexy to be worn with a suite/tuxedo or sheer office use, its subtle and aromatic (not at all cloying). The only words I can describe it as are - sophistication and young flyer!! Very versatile! Projection is good!! Longevity is good (apply not like a miser! Sillage is also good!

I like this fragrance a lot, and for me, it's vanilla all the way. It's warm and inviting, has decent longevity subtle projection and you could use it day or night at any time of the year. I especially like it in the winter for it's warming properties. I would say that Silver Shadow is one of Davidoff's more unique and classy endeavours. If in doubt then try before you buy, but if you like the smell of amber and vanilla, then I would say go for it.

A very nice edt from Davidoff , in my words better than ( private )as i tried it , i did not like it , in other words it was not WAWO as i expected 2 be , but in this the ( saffron ) is intensive in the drydown & what makes it very good that it can be used in winter & summer as well 2 , i wish Davidoff considor a EDP 4 it !

Davidoff Silver Shadow is great fragrance. The smell is Fabulous. I Love this one. I Get many compliments. It has Luxury Feel. It can be signature scent. The projection is very good for 3 hrs plus, & Longevity is about 4 to 5 hrs then gets close to the skin. Definitely a masterpiece from Davidoff. I JUS LOVE IT. 9/10

I blind bought Silver Shadow by Davidoff because of all the great reviews and I am glad I did. It is absolutely elegant and smells very masculine. The benzoin and the orange delight my senses. I wore it to the office this morning and already I have gotten many compliments. A true gem by Davidoff!

Warm, smooth, classy and woody. A beautifully and carefully crafted fragrance but it's not a powerhouse - it has moderate sillage and longevity. A very masculine scent, the drydown is close to Laura Biagiotti Per Uomo. Very nice indeed and a real grower.

One and only. No copycat ever comes close to this, especially new brands that has not existed in the market in the 90's. I always envy Davidoff fragrances and will always have it in me throughout the time. Masterpiece blend, luxurious. For me 9/10

I really like this one. I'm on my second bottle. Silver Shadow is a warm, citrusy, woody, masculine scent with the spices playing in the background. Good longevity but sillage is a little weak. It's a compliment getter, but she has to be near.

If Hugo Boss - Bottled and YSL - La Nuit de'l Homme could mate and have a baby, this would be it! More punch than HB-B, less intriguing than YSL-LNdH. Such a versatile perfume. All day all time. Nothing could ever go wrong with this. LOVE!

Just a wonderful classic fragrance. 20 years old but still up to date smelling. Signature fragrance worthy for office and daily errands. Can't go wrong with this beautiful masculine fragrance.

I just receive a bottle of this in the mail and... WOW! This stuff is... Casablanca Bogart... Classy Love in a bottle! Add: I get a slight vibe of resemblance to St. Dupont Signature ?

This really is a beautiful scent that is sweet but has a bitter sharpness to it that gives it a masculine edge. It's no doubt one of my favorites. This is a must for any collection.

A classy, well blended scent. Orange, spices and cedar. Very smooth and pleasant. The silage has lots of character. Similar to Dunhill Pursuit. Very nice juice.

Benjoin and amber are dominant here in silver shadow. Subtlety sweet, very nice. Last about half a day, medium projection.

Excellent fragrance!! missk and K1 offered great reviews on this. One of Kurkdjian's most unknown creations - and a very nice one! It really is a solid scent from Davidoff. The name makes you think of a stuffy, old Rolls Royce driving grandpa - but this is not at all in that realm! This is a nicely made composition, with bitter orange & warm spices on top with a warm, smooth amber & benzoin forming the base with patchouli - which gives you a nice "oriental woody" (more of a spicy, aromatic woody than truly an oriental in the traditional sense). I love the saffron note in this - it blends perfectly with the cedar, spicy clove, cinnamon and coriander! The transition is nice and the top notes seem to almost drift into the amber, benzoin and woodsy notes (including a touch of oakmoss, which is more of a fixative then a note). Not a show stopper (nor do you want it to be) and the longevity & projection are average - a classy scent. I think the name of this throws everybody off - "Altitude" is nice for the flanker in a name, but Silver Shadow is for the anyone that wants a nice bit of class and still smell sweet and warm. Overall, 7.5+/10. I like it in the cool evenings, but this could be worn year-round and would make a nice office scent. Personally, I like to wear it after a workout and shower when relaxing in the evening. It has a coziness about it and the wife likes it...great allure. Kurkdjian's touch is here - perhaps a lighter scent from him than we are used to, but full of radiant charm. **Update** - after several full wearings and also occassional sprays on both skin and clothes for notes, I have really grown fond of this, even more. I find the cedar is present in both the top (leaves) and middle (cedarwood) with the saffron. The amber, benzoin and patchouli add great warmth and dimension to this scent, although it is not too long-lived (about 4-5 hours on me with a decent 6-7 shot application, including a couple shots on my clothes...which helps with longevity). I recently also bought both the Hair & Body Wash and After-Shave balm (which, when layered with the fragrance adds a nice touch of depth, more power and even better longevity). Going on just scent (and not longevity) - which is why I like Silver Shadow a lot, I am raising my score to a solid 8/10. It does what so many scents try to do - create charm for the wearer and allure to those around them. Bravo.

Suave under appreciated gem When I bought this, blind as always, I really didn't have a collection of perfumes. Just a handful really, and that too mostly the really popular aquatics. This was probably my first brave step into a different, totally unknown, to me, world. The first time was completely off-putting. Just something I didn't understand at all. Quite obvious coming from my background (of aquatics). But after a few other scents took me off my aquatic spell, I came back to this one. And honestly I haven't left this 'spicy-woody' genre ever since. Silver Shadow opens with a very spicy, balmy, in-your-face type of bitter-orange accord. But as soon as the opening blast settles this scent gets magical. You can immediately smell this cloud of beautiful black pepper, saffron and benzoin. Very warm and enveloping, but not in a bit overpowering or strong. Just natural and grounded. As the hours go by this scent gets slightly sweeter, ambery-vannilic. I can get whiffs of cloves & cinnamon too at times. And all this is supported by a very thin layer of musky patchouli. All the while it stays subtle and restrained. It's more of a skin scent if used normally, so I go generous on the trigger. And it's worth it. It's very suave and sophisticated. Very mature, understated and totally inoffensive, so a perfect office scent in a way. The sillage is average or below, really - but the people who get close like it. It always smells warm and pleasant. It's not ground-breaking or super creative in anyway. But it is a very good and proper scent made by the great Francis Kurkdijan. 8/10

I bought this when my favorite discount retailer was out of Jesus del Pozo's Quasar, and the mini was only 13 dollars less than the 50 ml. I was curious about this, after reading that it was very similar to the now discontinued wonder Nature Millenaire pour homme from Yves Rocher, and yeah...it'll do, since NMPH is now gone, forever :-( This is a very warm, spicy resinous fragrance that just warms me and my heart on cold wintry days. It begins with a beautiful bitter orange that has a woody cedar sweetness and the smooth cool herbal air of corriander. Despite the prescence of the bigarade, it is not overly citric, just smooth from the top to the heart. The heart is beautiful, as the slightly spicy floral of saffron pokes through the rich earthy patchouli and makes the raw muskiness seem refined and almost elegant. The finish is sweet, powdery and oriental as the amber and benzoin make it so smooth and sexy, and the oakmoss gives it an overall slightly green feel, without compromising its exotic beauty. Sillage: good Longevity: average Overall: 3.75/5 An excellent offering from the house of Davidoff, and just the thing for those crisp, chilly days when you want to smell nice, but not too spicy or musky. Panache, without the pricetag to match...an excellent buy!

This fragrance will go down in the fragrance history books as a truly beautiful masculine. I am buying another bottle just to put in a cool dark place so I won't have to pay 200 bucks for it 10 years from now. It is one of those fragrances that is too understated to ever become uber-popular. Which inevitably means that it will eventually be reformulated beyond recognition to cut costs or will be discontinued at some point. I just hope it's later rather than sooner. When I first sniffed this gem I was instantly enamored by the subtle pairing of bitter orange and benzoin to the spicy saffron and coriander. These main notes define the fragrance and give it a softly textured creaminess. The spices that lift the main notes are like warm air - especially the saffron which is not at all heavy and oily but fresh, light, warm and lightly powdery. The coriander, clove and cinnamon are lightly noticeable but with all that said and considering all the culinary notes this fragrance contains it does not come across as a gourmand. It still smells like a men's fragrance in the traditional sense although it has a contemporary backbone. This is just a beautifully mixed work of art. It is a complex yet soft fragrance that belies it's affordable price tag.

I think HB is sharper, I prefer Silver Shadow more; I think the benzoin,coriander and citrus are prominent, on my fella anyway. It would suit mid-30s as it is grown-up enough, sweet citrusy but also just as spicy as it has to be and there is a hint of bittersweetness that would balance it out perfectly. And that`s what also makes it a noughties perf somehow - not heavy and heady as many of the 80s and 90s scents, nor `unisex` as today`s male scents. At first sniff you might think it smells nothing more than a better quality shower gel, but there is more to this scent as it develops over the course of time. It probably isn`t the sexiest scent you ever tried, but probably the most original for the best price available online..and people will be asking what are you wearing! Sillage and longevity is average, but you can get a good few hours of it; in warm climate it might last longer and come out better, although I think it is more of an autumn-winter fragrance than anything, but who knows what it can do in spring or summer? Just a note on the side:it should be called something like Golden Beam or Copper Swoosh, not Silver Shadow - it`s just not silvery or shadowy somehow..:-D

This may have been reformulated, as Davidoff made a prominent change in several fragrances when shifting from the "Davidoff" written in script to "DAVDIOFF" in all caps (as depicted above). I have the one written in script (original) and these days the 100ml size is still readily available for around $20~$26 shipped. It's quite worthwhile at that price too! It comes in a terrific quality bottle. It's minimalist art deco, with solid feeling glass and a cap that other makers should imitate (it snaps on as if it were magnetic, and it has a weighty feel). Sprayer is metal and works great. This fragrance is bitter orange oriental woody is lightly done, making it very approachable for wearing in the spring/summer/fall. Maybe a little too light for winter, IMHO. Longevity is rather lacking, so you need to layer and even give hair/clothes a spritz. Very office safe, in my book. And yet, still classy for a night out. I saw someone say Kurkdjian of Maison Francis Kurkdjian fame crafted this, which wouldn't be all that surprising. Fragrance: 8.3/10, Longevity: 6/10, Value: 9/10.

This is the only male perfume I own and wear occasionally. I fell in love with it accidentaly, I had a sample a few years ago and couldn't stop sniffing and used to spay a tiny litle amount on my fingers and plaster them to my nose, till one day my dog chewed the sample vial (it was black plastic). The smell worked so nicely comforting on me and I used to imagine that this is the scent for a perfect man, strong, warm, the one that you can completely count on. I bought it for myself and wear it, because I have to be that man for myself sometimes, I learned to realy upon on myself only, because there are no perfect men (or women) in this world, and I better chose none than imperfect (disapointing)

Silver Shadow is a nicely done semi formal fragrance. I get a slightly spicy orange in the begining, followed by saffron, cinnamon, a mild amber and benzoin in the heart and dry down. I like saffron as a note and this is a good example of it. I have the current version with Davidoff written in block letters and projection is moderate. Longevity is about 4-5 hours with 5 sprays. This makes a good office frag as it radiates comfortably close to you while lasting a decent amount of time and it is light enough that it can be worn year round. A very versatile, easy going Fragrance and one of Francis Kurkdjian's good ones. I like it a lot, just wish it had a bit more power. 8/10

This opens up with big, sweet amber-citrus notes - then the resin-spice accord takes the front seat, then the skin-scent which is considerably drier and with its rich woody base sweetened a touch with the botanicals makes me think of reading antique books in a dark wood-paneled, fire-lit private library. This starts off with the party and then gets down to business, like William Randolph Hearst at San Simeon. This scent takes me straight to Citizen Kane. Not a longevity beast, but it was detectable as a skin-scent on me until about 5 hours after original application. I see myself using this in the Winter, formally and casually.

No youthful candyness of a Joop fragrance,this one is all finesse without boastful tones.Very quiet once you spray it on,but it IS there silently wafting outward attracting others to you.This is a reason to wear cologne.A discrete affair looms....A very welcome blind buy.Don't expect skyrockets or fireworks from Silver Shadow instead look forward to a nice brandy or bourbon in low light with someone sexy in a bottle. This is up close and personal.

Such a pleasant Fragrance. It does take a while to get going (around 30 minutes with me). Similar to Boss Bottled as others have stated, however, personally, I prefer this as it is more restrained, less chemical, and more masculine, despite having less projection. Most everyone has smelled a scent like this but here it is done very well. I'll comfortably wear it and think more mature people could really make it shine, I'm thinking of getting a bottle for my Dad as well, It's a fragrance that suits a mature confident man. Balanced, elegant, cool, perfect for the winter/autumn months. Good Stuff!

This fragrance really gone under rated, it is carefully blended to make it so rich in aroma and yet so mystic. It will make you feel warm and confident whole day long (lasting more than 8 hours on me), it is also perfect for formal dinner and formal wear. I like to wear it to bring out the confident in me to show the world! Perfect fragrance for me! Update: After passing this wonderful juice to my father, I have found out how great the silage could be! Imagine I can still detect this scent minutes after my dad left his seat! It is mild sweetness and really smell great in the air! Thumbs up!

Davidoff Silver Shadow is an underrated gem. Due to the shadow cast by Cool Water, and to a lesser extent, Zino, the rest of the Davidoff line tends to get overlooked. Unfairly so, in the case of Silver Shadow. Silver Shadow is a very well blended oriental. The main notes on my skin are benzoin, amber and orange. It isn't the most complex fragrance, but it's a nice allrounder, that works pretty much year round. Longevity is a decent 7-8 hours for me. Rating: 7/10

Amazing fragrance ! Elegant, Classy and Sophisticated. One of the best Davidoff Men's perfumes. It opens up with like bitter citrusy , slightly spicy and green notes in the background then dry down is ambery woody. This is suitable for the spring, fall and winter. I really enjoy it and I like Silver Shadow Davidoff EDT for Men. I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Bravo Madame Calice Becker ! Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

First minute: hurting my nose from a metre away After 1 minute: 1 Million After 3 minutes: Quasar After 5 minutes: Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme After 10 minutes: Body Kouros After 15 minutes: can't be bothered to compare anymore Sweet, complex and smells good at every stage. The main notes above describe the drydown well (mainly benzoin & orange). Strong projection for 30 minutes, then subtle for 2 hours.

Very nice fragrance. Smooth. Reminds me a bit of Christian Audigier's Villain for men drydown. I prefer Silver Shadow as it smells a bit deeper (sensual).... and with a touch of a vinyl smell mixed in (in a pleasant way). Kind of sexy actually. Nice. Edit: After many wearings... I can attest it being more similar to a less aggressive smoother version of Baldessarini Ambre. Smooth, suave, sexy.

O.k. So this is a very masculine scent and I am female. But I like this one. No sweetness. No pretty flowers.Seductive. Wood, moss,spiced bitter orange. Then welcoming warm spice and a hint of patchouli. Not a great fan of patchouli but it works here.I occasionally sneak a tiny amount of this scent from my husbands collection. Smells better on him though. Lasts quite well I thought.
