If ya get a newer formulation bottle, and notice that after an hour or two its completely GONE! Dont frete like I did, just spray a bit more out, store it away for atleast a month or two (the longer the better) and you'll notice a vast difference in the performance and even the smoothness. So yeah, Davidoff-Zino is still very much more than worth a pick up, especially for the crazy cheap pricetag! Must love deep, earthy Patchouli tho. Fragrances like Zino are so old school and seemingly forgotten by the current generation that theyre pretty much cool and really fun to wear nowadays bc theyre so "Unique" when compared to the over-done Gourmands, Blues or "Freshies" that everyone and tbeir granny ate wearing these days! And Im sorry, but Ive only ever gotten this deep, great quality Patchouli from High-end designers like Tom Ford's Black Orchid or "Niche fragrances".. so theres THAT PART! Whereas initially Id only get mmmaybe 2 hours on skin (after pre-moisturizing) and like 4 hours on clothes before my current formulation of Zino would completely vanish, (NOW) nearly 6 months later Im getting 5 to 6 hours on skin and easily till the following day on clothes!😁 Also, Zino can be cloyingly strong if I over-spray it even just a little bit! Point is, ITS STRONG! LOL! Oh and this will getcha compliments as it got me one THE VERY FIRST TIME I gave it a full wear at work from my Younger Female Supervisor (She said she loved the soft-powderiness) now that was months after I got it so it would "Maturate" a bit. So Guys and Gals, do yourself a FLLLAVOUR and just grab a bottle of this (DISCONTINUED) game-changing classic gem that even Tom Ford was inspired by when he created his hit (Bo De Jour!) So grab a bottle before the current stock is gone and its no longer just over the insanely cheap TWENTY DOLLAR pricetag! I mean look at what happened with Jacques Bogart Signature! One day its at every discounter for around $20 and now you can only find it at Ebay or Mercari for like 3 times the price and the bottles are probably used and it seemingly happened over-night! And Zino is way more popular than Jacques Bogart Signature, so it'll be even pricier!😮😳

I bought Davidoff Zino for myself last week after finding it in my local perfume store. I've been wanting it for some time, and suddenly it's there! Such a coincidence. It was a blind buy, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. First off, I like the packaging and the bottle design. The creme cap is not to everyone's taste, but whatever. The fragrance is what matters! During the opening three scents are very prominent: there is a citrus quality, a floral quality, and a wooden quality. Bergamot makes it smell citrusy and fresh, this is tamed down a bit by the -darker smelling- lavender and woods. Patchouli is also present, but due to the other notes it's harder to detect. Once dried down the fragrance has changed into a very -patchouli forward- scent. The citrus quality is tamed down. The floral and wooden qualities are still there, but less prominent. The patchouli in this fragrance is dark and heavy at this point. Overall, Zino is a sophisticated, fresh and proffesional fragrance. Some compare it to Tom Ford Beau de Jour, which I don't get. BDJ is mossy, less woody, the lavender is more fresh and soapy, and the patchouli is also more fresh. The difference in the latter two notes make a huge difference how Zino and BDJ present themselves. Zino smells darker and less soapy. Some people mention it not being suitable for clubbing, youth, etc. If you are younger, but serious, proffesional and gentleman like. This fragrance would be perfect for you. It's also very affordable. Seasons: The woods in zino make it suitable for winter, the floral notes for spring and autumn, the citrus quality for milder summer days. I would consider it as a versatile, all year round fragrance. Strength: present for 5 hours on skins, on clothes ca 10 hours. Sillage: Great for the first two hours, afterwards it's moderate. Remark: Classic masculine fragrance. Keywords are clean, fresh, citrusy, lavender, woody and patchouli. Rating: 8/10

My mind whispered: "Good grief, this is going to be a relic – soapy, stiff, a musty greeting from a bygone era." But what began as a skeptical test has blossomed into a deep love within a single night. THE FIRST SPRAY ... is like opening a heavy library door: dark, herbal, and a bit impetuous. But those who flee now are making a grave mistake. You have to let Zino breathe. THE MASCULINE ROSE After a few minutes, the unexpected happens. The dark austerity breaks open to reveal a rose so velvety and deep red, it feels as if it were carved into the finest ebony. It is important to understand: this rose is never feminine or "flowery." It is tart, dark, and firmly rooted in wood – a thoroughly masculine interpretation of elegance. THE DRYDOWN: A MOMENT OF PURE COMFORT Zino offers a "drydown for the ages." While modern scents often cling to the surface like sticky, synthetic candy, Zino develops an incredible depth. The patchouli here does not feel damp, but rather dry and creamy. I love Zino! I blind-bought this for about $20 bucks from an eBay seller. To give a bit of a background - I really love freshie, vetiver-based frags (my signatures are Dior Eau Sauvage, Guerlain Vetiver, Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver). However, lately I found myself really wanting a dedicated winter cologne. In my search, I had tried a Decant of Dior Eau Sauvage PARFUM and really liked the barber shop fresh/shaving cream whiff that I was getting in the dry down. I had also tried decants of Guerlain L'homme Ideal (too gourmand / sweet / smells like something a high schooler would wear on a date night), Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme (smells like a vampire in a three hundred year old cathedral), Dior Homme 2020 (smells nice but it's all woods and pretty 'fresh'; not exactly what I was going for). After doing some further research, I decided to try Zino... Upon unboxing and first sniff I knew this was something I could get down with. I didn't immediately think "grandpa smell", although I can certainly see why some say that. It smells relevant and perfectly acceptable today, albeit for a more-mature/classy gentleman. I don't think that I would've worn this in my twenties (I'm now 38). And I wouldn't wear it with a t-shirt or a hoodie. I wore it out the other night with a leather jacket and button up shirt in mid-30 degree weather for example. I'd really like to try Tom Ford Beau de Jour or Guerlain Heritage (two of my favorite houses, by the way), but I don't think I can justify the purchase because there's no way that either smells one-hundred-dollars-better than Zino. Zino is very well blended with a lot of notes, but what really strikes me is the rose which is so classy and fougere/shaving cream hit that I was really searching for.

This is what started my addiction...I had a Beau De Jour bottle that i randomly gotten as a gift and i loved and oversprayed that thing...As the bottle was getting emptier and i wanted a new one i started digging a bit...At that time, it was unimaginable to spend 150-200€ on a bottle...So i see Davidoff Zino,ordered it and yes,they are very similar...Tom Ford is sharper and obviously higher quality,but the drydown is kinda the same thing in the air...Had my Zino bottle for nearly 3 years and even tho its a rare occasion,every wear ends up being a nice adventure and really nostalgic for me...I cant even remember the amount of compliments or questions this has received...Females,males,older,younger...Everyone will notice it,my ex gf loved it,random people will ask for the name and nobody understands the actual name for some reason?? People have no idea about Davidoff but i thought its a more known brand since they also produce ciggarettes..Some female co workers even asked about the name of this one and Cool Water Intense just so they could order it for their boyfriends...The quality is just that good guys...This works with anything for me..Casual sunny day or late night leather jacket vibe..Also any season,in summer go easy because it has vanilla and rose sweetness...And also this sticks to fabric and leather like crazy...Easily stays on a jacket for weeks...So,is it worth it? Yes. Is it cheap and avaliable? Yes. Is it a 10/10 subtitute for Tom Ford? No,honestly more like 8/10 side to side..But this was produced before Beau De Jour so its fair to say that Tom Ford is actually a good clone of Zino...Just buy this,its class and very good taste...Can often be found for 20€..Bottle is very nice,good atomizer

I'm not a reviewer, just want to toss in my ¢2 for the blind buy I did. I don't own BDJ either, BTW. I loved the opening (unlike many others) , and then it just kept coming, getting better and better - I love it! I can see myself wearing it all autumn and winter, 100% right for a Swedish winter with snow sledding during the day and relaxing in front of the fireplace in the evening - I can even picture it just wearing Zino. Actually, it's dark most of the day from November to March, it'll be just fine during the whole winter. I can see myself wearing it on a winter date, cold, dark, a steak for dinner, some mulled wine if front of the fireplace ... Crazy cheap, ordered two more bottles, might buy another two if it's really discontinued. That's me, always finds a gem when it's about to get discontinued. I have "Statement" from Etienne Aigner coming in on Tuesday, which I found out yesterday is the closest to Boss Elements there is. (Boss Elements, the best I've own, best I know, got most compliments off of all scents I've ever own, must be my body chemistry). Of course - Discontinued ... I'm going to check on my 35 year younger colleague tomorrow what he thinks (you can smell him from 5m away ...) If you found your way here to Davidoff Zino for one reason or another, stop reading and buy at least one bottle to try, give it away if you don't like it, you might miss out big time !!!

Zino is a great budget friendly barbershop scent from the 80s when this profile was all the rage. It's definitely not polarizing or dated- it's a classic. Every man should own one scent of this genre. Make no mistake, this is far from TF Beau De Joir. Sure, they have similarities but the TF is more airy, barbershop scent done more aromatic and modern without the woody, vanilla dry down of the Zino. On its own, Zino starts off with a lavender and aromatic sage opening that's very reminiscent of aftershaves and florals like geranium add to the depth and push of this scent profile. The base has some ISO E super with sandalwood and hints of vanilla that provide a creamy, woody dry down that smells pretty sophisticated and classy. The perfomance unfortunately has dwindled over it's years of reformulation. I've heard it's been discontinued as well? It lasts for 3-4 hrs on my skin and about 7 hrs on fabric at best. Sillage is observable for a couple of hrs and the projection is close to body. Spray literally to get some more push to it's performance. This is a timeless classic like Drakkar Noir or One Man Show or dozens of other barbershop scents out there. If not this, maybe get one of the others but a gentleman's cabinet should not be devoid of a barbershop scent.

***Edit/update*** So I'd left a scathing review back on 4/25/25 complaining about the horrible reformulation/neutering Zino has been subjected to in it's current iteration. As Id said before, when I'd first got thr current batch of Zino the projection and strength of the fragrance was terrific. Great deep Patchouli, clean-ish powdery nuances, Lavender, Smelled great and seemingly potent! Its just that it faded quickly, and just didnt seem to last past say 2 hours on skin (if that) and even on clothes it lasted 3, maaaybe 4 hours and then it was gone without a trace! Well Im very happy to report that there'smost definatelysomething to say for the "Maturation Process". While it's still probably NOT what it used to be, it has certainly improved quite a bit during the two months I've had my bottle stored away. Im actually getting great staying power on clothes now where I can even smell Zino into the following day, again (on clothes), and Im getting a good 5 to 6 hours on skin now which is a pretty drastic improvement imo. So guys, yeah I suppose that along with some patience, Davidoff Zino is still worth a pick up even in it's current formulation. Also, the Patchuli seems a bit more "Dirty/Earthy" and the other notes now seem more substantial as well😉

((Timeless Classic - one of the best cheapie hidden gems, all time)) I have been using this fragrance for a long time, and this is my opinion. First Impression: The initial spray offers a classic (yet elegant) barbershop scent, aromatic and herbal, thanks to lavender and patchouli. It exudes sophistication and maturity. It is worth mentioning that this perfume, despite its masculine character, has a warm intimate romantic side, I think any mature woman will adore this scent on her man. Dry Down: The fragrance beautifully transitions into a soft, velvety scent. The mature opening evolves into a warm heart with sandalwood and a subtle, powdery vanilla note. Personal Thoughts: Zino is a masterpiece of contrasts—bold, masculine, romantic, and classy. It radiates strength while holding tender nuances. Zino Davidoff EDT. Harsh opening feels unbalanced. Lots of lavender. Bergamot, not a fan of it in this composition. Animalic floral in the background. The bergamot and animalic fades away. Instead of harsh, there's an edge which is enjoyable. There's earthy, spicy, patchouli and wood. Patchouli is a little dark chocolate. Paired with a bit of vanilla there's a decadent but not gourmand aspect. The lavender blends beautifully with the base in the mid and dry down. Moderate sillage and longevity. First blind buy at $20 for 125 mL. I'm glad. Great value. Side by side comparison with Tom Ford Beau Du Jour EDP. Strikingly similar, especially in the air. BDJ is pleasant to smell out the gate compared to Zino which needs time to mellow. Both have lavender in spades, although more prominent in BDJ. Zino is woody. BDJ is amber. BDJ feels greener, perhaps from listed note of rosemary. Zino feels brown, with a dirtier patchouli. BDJ is sweeter, brighter, cleaner, soapier, and softer. BDJ is more mass appealing I'd bet. BDJ has similar sillage but greater longevity on my skin. I prefer the BDJ open, but the Zino dry down. They're not twins, but they're too similar for me to want both.

A BEAUTIFUL, spicey, slightly powdery-classic men's Barber Shop/Shaving Cream fragrance! I've smelled "Old Man" smelling fragrances which were Off-Putting ONLY because they smelled cheap on top of "Dated". NOT Zino! Since I've started collecting, Ive truley grown to appreciate the classics (As long as they don't smell cheap) and Zino really fills that empty spot I had in my collection for a hyper-Masculine, Barber-shop fragrance. I love how fragrances can serve to inhance a situation or an event when worn at the appropriate moment. I can't wait to sport Zino during some up-scale event as it feels like a "formal" type of scent to me. Also, I feel like this is definately a "less is more" type of scent to me, and seems like a colder weather fragrance as well. Im so, so glad that I pulled the trigger on Zino before it got discontinued or had a horrible reformulation bc although I'm sure its had it's fair share of reforms, it still smells amaze-ballz! Haven't been able to test the perfor.ance, but after spraying some on the back of my hand, I cantemagine it'd be a weak performer. 9 putta 10 fragrance imo. Classic GEM!

Rich, moist, earthy patchouli with a moderate dose of aromatic rosewood, enveloped in fragrant lavender. This melange is topped off with the creaminess of the sandalwood and dry, warm cedar. I layer this with Encre Noire (2 sprays Zino - 1 Spray Encre) to get a perfectly balanced smell of an old, wooden chest. It smells absolutely divine. Dark, deep opulence of the element Earth. You'll smell like a buried treasure. I've got 5 unexpected compliments today! I have never gotten a complement for either Zino or E.N when I wore them individually. Not that I seek or care about compliments usually. I wear perfume to subconciously enhance my emotions and alter my state of mind. But it feels nice to receive recognition for one's creativity! Earthy notes can help alleviate stress, restore contact with your physical body and attract wealth. Perfect for people who ruminate, restless minds and live in their heads. Also helps restless & impulsive doers who are in constant motion and have trouble slowing down (me). Smelling this calms me down & helps me stay grounded. My girlfriend says I smell like a wood chipper ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Hello fragrance fam, on today's reformulation guide were covering Zino by Davidoff. A wonderful cedar, patchouli, vanilla and lavender scent. We currently have both modern and vintage versions available on our site, and I must state they're both great! There have been many small reformulations of Zino throughout the years, but generally you can group them into two main batch variations. 1. Pre-2006: Manufactured by Lancaster. On the front of the bottle "Davidoff" will also be in cursive. These versions will have trace natural ingredients in the formula and have a more organic smelling lavender, patchouli and cedar. 2. Post-2006 bottles manufactured by Coty. Will have partial cursive on the front of the bottle. "Davidoff"will be printed. These versions smell very similar, but more synthetic and aromatic. In my opinion this fragrance has faired the test of time very well. One of my favorite fougères, Zino is weirdly yummers. It opens with bergamot and lavender, as the genre requires, but it throws in a big hunk of rosewood — which is totally unusual in any opening and becomes its signature top note. The heart is a heady bouquet of rose, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, and geranium... but the flowers seem ready to turn, beginning to desiccate, a tinge of rot setting in. Potpourri? Not quite. Enter the heavy hitters, led by a big, earthy, chocolatey patchouli and followed by a creamy sandalwood, a sturdy cedar, and a dry, resinous amber. Throw in a subtle pinch of vanilla for good measure. What a treat this is, especially in cool weather. It’s said that Beau de Jour by TF and Héritage by Guerlain were inspired by Zino. I’ve never sniffed either. This is an erudite, darkly menacing, sexually passionate yet always refined gentleman’s scent. At $20 for 125 ml, it’s a working class hero brought to us by the King of Cigars. (Though I do recommend the vintage Lancaster version, which isn’t hard to find for about four times as much, and is worth the trouble.)

Mostly clary sage in the opening. Then comes a very beautiful lavender note, alongside more subtle florals like geranium, jasmine, rose, lotv, and iris. The base is very woody, with a dusty texture. A lot of soapy sandalwood & powdery rosewood synthetics, with patchouli, cedar, orris, sweet ambers, vanilla, and coumarin. Zino is a strange experience. Part of my brain registers a naturalistic fougere, but it has that not-quite-natural potpourri smell to it simultaneously. The base develops to be earthy, woody, and sweet, with an underlying resinous touch. This sweet, flowery amber fougere perfectly fits the "dandy" image, at least for me and my nose. A stellar men's scent. One of the few I have tested that works out wonderfully on my person. Nothing overly synthetic here, more soft and naturalistic than many of the scents made for men. I am far from the first person to voice complaints toward this incestuous industry, but Michel Almairac is 1) profoundly talented and 2) isn't given enough credit for the wonders he works (I will turn a blind eye to the original Burberry Woman).

Just a suggestion: lets start posting if the bottle is DAVIDOFF (new formulation with BLOCK letters in the name or the Vintage version with both Davidoff & Zino in CURSIVE Script on the bottle and maybe even on the bottle COTY would be the newer formulation and Lancaster would be the Vintage. I have several bottles of Vintage Zino and wouldnt have it any other way . There IS a huge difference in vintage vs the Coty Reformulation. Ill only speak about the vintage version from now on..... Very dark florals and very creamy sandalwood drydown that smells absolutely amazing. I agree with MANY of the other commenters that it is for older men (Ive been wearing this since I was 35 and Im “almost” 50) but fragrance should be worn by WHOEVER LIKES IT. Dont worry about what others may THINK they know and DO YOU!! MY FAVORITE PERFUMER is in Fact Michel Almirac who also made several of my favorites like Joop! Homme, Desire Dunhill (red), Coolwater, and The Dreamer (Vintage) by Versace.

Davidoff Zino EDT is a nostalgic and sophisticated scent for me. When I first spray it, it makes me feel the earthy atmosphere of a library with the smell of an old book. Lavender and bergamot at the opening provide a soft but masculine entrance to the perfume; a very calm and balanced start. The floral touch of geranium and rose in the middle notes adds a pleasant elegance to the scent. However, the most impressive part of Zino develops towards the base notes: with vanilla, cedar and sandalwood, this perfume takes on a deep, warm and slightly powdery form. Starts with a masculine barbershop smell, I think fragrantica range of notes are terribly wong here because it is not as woody as it's shown and much more aromatic. Classic barbershop smell turns to a powdery, floral smell reminds me of my dad's shaving creams and the fragrance finished with chocolatey-tobacco smell mixed with woods. Niche quality, still relevant and makes a statement. It may be old, but it is definitely not dated as many 80's colognes. I actually think that this is better than Beau de Jor. That being said, might still be challenging for the fans of sweeter or fresher fragrances. Performance is good, sillage is mediocre but lasts solid a solid 8 hours on my skin. Wearable anywhere but high heat in my opinion. Might not be liked by everyone, so do not expect any compliments. It is more of a scent that you wear as a signature of for yourself. Reccomended, thumbs up. I'll buy 2 or maybe even 3 bottles if this becomes discontinued.

This does have a slightly harsh opening but please give it a few minutes, it doesn't last and your left with a brilliant scent of woods, vanilla and patchouli in the mid and dry down. It lasts forever on your clothes. People bring up Tom Ford's Beau de Jour and say it's much better quality. I've worn BDJ and ok the opening for sure smells of luxurious 80's barbershop gillet type shaving cream, no harshness and Zino definitely can't compete there but ten minutes later your 100 euro bottle quickly starts smelling like this 25 euro one, most definitely in the air. Drop Tom Ford prices on Noir Extreme Parfum, not Beau de Jour. One of the best scents the 80's produced. It reminds me of my father and the great times I had with him growing up as a child, those 80's powerhouse scents hard working guys of that era would wear. A bottle of this is just a total must for me in my collection as a result.

Omg heavenly!!! This smells like rosewood, sandalwood, and cedar doused in vanilla extract and baking in the sun over a chocolately bed of dark mystical patchouli. Yes youre welcome. I'm a note whisperer. Bought a vintage 80s batch - cant speak for other versions but this is so unique and spiritual somehow. Woody notes dominate the fragrance and sweet nuances simmer in the background on low heat. Not modern sweet but sweet and dirty like sweet baked beans. Not sure where baked beans came from but similar deal when the beans are bubbling on the stove and u get that animalic waft and your mouth starts watering. Why is this slept on?! Lets stop sucking the toes of modern garbage and praise some classics. If i hear about that black licorice sponge cake and sugarless frosting trash that is le male le parfum one more time im gonna lose it. Welcome to my cabinet Zino

Zino Davidoff reminds me of The Graduate- not so much of Elaine, but the fling between Ben and Mrs. Robinson. This awesome aromatic fougere opens with Brazilian rosewood, very masculine. Lavender and clary sage bring a calm confidence, while the heart’s floral notes add a clean, sensual edge. The dry down is where Zino shines: dark patchouli, creamy sandalwood, and grounded cedar create a warm, mysterious aura, the scent of a man who’s sure of himself. Sometimes, I layer it with Cartier Déclaration as a base, Zino on top, especially on cool outdoor nights. It makes me feel like Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry. Rugged, composed, no nonsense. I love Zino. To me, nothing about it feels cheap, except the price tag. It’s from an era when men didn’t want to smell like cola, bubblegum, or syrup, they wanted to smell like men and Zino made it happen

This has easily become my autum/winter signature scent (I’m 28 yo). I just want to wear it for every day life! One main character of this fragrance is lavender, that to my nose is there from start to end. The moment you spray it you have this fresh radiation of lavender, woods and hints of flowers, the feeling is like finding yourself in a vintage very clean and nice barbershop. However it is not a fresh fragrance, behind the curtains (but still present) there’s this constant earthy feeling, maybe it’s the patchouli, that gives the fragrance roundness and thickness. I find it very pleasant, mature and not overpowering. Suitable for most occasions with a bit of care on how you dress (I wouldn’t wear it with a hoodie going to the gym for instance, but you can of course) I love it! And I can’t believe in how cheap you can find it

A must-have classic of men's perfumery. Zino can be found at a frankly ludicrous £15 - £20 for 125ml. The blending is exceptional. It's fresh, medicinal and slightly antiseptic in the opening before giving way to an incredible barbershop choir of smooth, herbaceous, and creamy notes produced by lavender, clary sage, patchouli, and sandalwood. There are some light florals and rose that both freshen it up and keep it airy, while the patchouli and cedar develops a dark dry down, giving off impressions of chocolate and soft leather jackets. A touch of vanilla keeps it on the respectable side. Think of a mature, confident man who has just got ready at a country estate. Shaving soap, antiseptic shampoo, soft leather jacket, suede boots, cigar tucked away in his inside pocket. Ready for a brisk morning walk, coffee in hand. 10/10.

Blind buy, am not in to strong smells but I love fougères and 80s vibe, amazing scent! truly amazing and without any harshness or unpleasant surprises in any level. This is even fresher than Paco Rabanne pour homme and more versatile. Opening to base is good and well balanced. Performance is decent after 5 hours of applying I got compliments which means the projection is still there. If you like Paco Rabanne pour homme, Azzaro Pour Homme, Dunhill Edition, you'll love it. If you are into the new wave of colognes (sweet vanilla metal berries) this is not for you, I think at least try it from a tester. Price is a steal cost like 15$ for 100ML and it comes in unwrapped box from the factory so don't worry its not unboxed. 125ml Made in France patch late 2023.

Don’t discontinue this one because it is going to become my Beau de Jour (now becoming discontinued) alternative. I almost wanted to pay the current “last look” sale price for BdJ as backup but realized I had a full bottle of this and it takes me like 88.6% of the way there with the difference being Zino has a vibrant rosewood, geranium, and a deeper synthetic sandalwood that stands out in a very enjoyable way. $20 for a 4.2 oz bottle vs the thousands BjD will end up going for on eBay. The current last look sale at Tom Ford as of the writing of this post marked BjD down to 50% off which is mind blowing by TF standards, but older cousin Zino, who considers itself a slightly more mature option (still very wearable), $20 is very difficult to beat.

***2nd update*** Yeah, my initial review on 4/25/25 where I was getting around 2 hours on skin and maybe 3 to 4 on clothes and it would be COMPLETELY GONE. I was super dissapointed so in frustration, Id boxed my bottle back up and pit Zino away to be forgotten. Well, I enjoyed the actual dna of the scent so much that 2 months later it really improved as far as performance and scent profile goes. Well, now 3 months later Zino has deepened EVEN MORE and lasts even longer on skin and clothes for about a 6 hour wear on skin and much longer on clothes. Not sure if Zino was a beast back in the day, and although its NOT a beast nowadays, with a bit of patience its ABSOLUTELY worth a pick-up, especially for the price and it being discounted.

Okay, you know what? I've smelled something like this before. From a niche house. Yes, that's right, from a niche house. Now call me crazy, but Davidoff's Zino can easily be mistaken for a niche fragrance. The notes are so well blended that you can't help but believe this is niche quality. The whole composition is bold, yet calm. Dark, yet warm. Very flowery, but wild. It's aggressively seductive. Need more convincing? Just read everyone's reviews on here - it is both beloved and praised as a masculine floral-patchouli fragrance. Don't even get me started on that amazing price-point. This was a blind buy for me and I'm glad I pulled the trigger. Zino Davidoff is now a prominent member of my stable of fine fragrances.

@Cyamak, WTF is Ultra Mille? If you mean Ultra Male, is even worst 'cause Zino has nothing to do with that one. Stop saying aleatory things based on what you catch in the air. Beau de Jour from Tom Ford was inspired by Zino, so it caused your 95% damaged brain to confuse that one with Le Beau from JPG, then you know that there was a Ultra Something from JPG, and decided to create Ultra Mille. It woul be more acceptable to stop before this step and say that it was similar to Le Beau de Jour from Jean Paul Ford , but you could'nt stop your imagination, milles away from what makes sense: Transformed Beau de Jour in Le Beau and Le Beau in Ultra Male and changed the name of that one to Ultra Mille. What a genius!

It will be hot this week, so last chance for something that doesn't do well in high heat. Zino packs an old school kick to it, full of woody bergamot, lavender, and sage in the open. I personally love that kind of barbershop open. As the dominant sage fades into the heart, a mix of floral notes arise with lily and jasmine being the two that I most pick up on. By the time the initial woodiness of that open dissipates, the sandalwood note actually picks up in the base, providing a non-linear woodiness throughout the life of the scent. Patchouli is what lasts the longest for me in dry down, with reminiscent whiffs of sage randomly recalling the open. It's a nice, clean shaven Sunday morning kind of fragrance.

If you don't own this yet, just buy it. It's masculine, it's richly textured, and it's got development from phase to phase. It's also a beautiful look back to fragrances of decades past, with a timeless quality that will always be wearable. Smooth, thick lavender. A creamy, earthy blend of patchouli and sandalwood. Rich wood softened just slightly by a floral touch. I can't stop wearing this at the moment. I also own a 50ml of Beau de Jour, but I reach for this more often, as it just feels more textured, more detailed, and more lived-in and relaxed. Update: Performance has improved over a year. I get compliments on this one. This an BdJ are like a dirty/clean yin & yang. I love both.

Oh, wow. Really lovely, deep and sensual scent. Definitely shines in the drydown because I had someone smell it on me within the first 10 minutes and they said “you smell really old,” but like 4 hours later they said “wow, you smell good!” so, take that as you may. It doesn’t feel cheap at all, such great value. With that price, you can do whatever you like with the trigger. Despite that, it is actually a solid performer and lasts a good 7+ hours. Patchouli is such an earthy and lovely scent, so if you appreciate it, this is your fragrance. Definitely a go to from now on, and plus, Johnny Depp in the 80s wore this... so I will keep that in mind whenever I wear it.

How did this gem stay off my radar for so long? Zino, in my personal experience, would be the perfect example of why it's important to test a fragrance on skin before buying it. That wasn't my case. I made a blind because the price was too good. When I opened it I found the scent repulsive, very citrus, it reminded me of pine scented cleaning products. Spraying it made it even worse. Fortunately, this first impression only lasts a few minutes. The bergamot soon disappears, giving away to a delicious, creamy and elegant woody scent that conveyed sobriety and confidence. My bottle is from the new formulation. It projects well and has average longevity.

Summer is over. The heat hasn't gone away yet. Those warm autumn days. That's where I place zino. That comforting balm that says "let's change for the cold" For me, the best patchouli note ever. I fear the day they discontinue this work of art. It would be like taking a Van Gogh off display forever. One of the most complex (in a good way) perfumes ever. Some suggestions on how to wear it: The beginning can be a little too strong. Apply at least half an hour before approaching someone. It usually works better on the skin than on clothes. 3 sprays are enough. This is a beast! 9/10

I'll start by saying that Zino is Great! Even magical. I have both a vintage,and an 2018 bottle, and the differences are minute (to my nose). i even get more longevity on skin with the newer one. It's dark, floral, deep, mysterious and creamy warm. it has character. Crimson velvet. I get a lot of rose. a dirty wilted rose. awesome! also, the vanilla shows itself in the drydown. not for the high heat, but could work in summer evenings as well. I really love it, and also prefer it to TFBDJ. Sure, the opening is a bit harsh, but that fades fast. Overall, this is a masterpiece imo.

I like the powdery, gentlemanly scent. The deep Patchouli smells great too. I just wish it had more longevity is all. It does open strong, but Im only getting about 4 hours or so, even on clothes it doesn't seem to last all that long, but although Ive had my bottle of Zino for about 3 weeks, hopefully itll gain better performance with more "maceration ". Its is a very nice fragrance tho and it definately fills a niche in my collection as I had nothing else that had this specific type of "classic gentlemanly" dna. Glad I went ahead and grabbed a bottle before its discontinued.

Yet ANOTHER Classic fragrance which comes on strong, but who's longevity has been BUTCHERED for no damned reason! Last maybe 2 hours on skin, 4 ON EFFIN' CLOTHES! And ya cant over spray bc it is strong in the very begining so you smell crazy for a couple hours if ya do over spray, till it disappears in 3 or 4 hours! Therefore its now unwearable GARBAGE imo and not even worth waisting time to spray on. Thats why I dont wanna FU$@ING hear it about clones! They do it better now for much less point blank! Zino is now a waste of money, even if it is only $20! So aggrevating

Have the new formulation (2022 bottle) for several months now and it has matured beautifully. Granted, I had some double sprays on the arms, neck sides, behind neck, chest inside, and a couple on the t-shirt for good luck - but it performed quite well and lasted me a good 6-8 hours, I still can smell a faint skin scent even after cooking some greasy meat. 125ml for cheap, I don't mind being easy on the trigger. As for the scent, you need to sample it yourself to decide if you like or want to wait for it to mature in order to experience its progression. I'm satisfied.

Zino has become a daily driver for me. it is balanced, masculine, and economical. and it lasts longer than most of my budget EDTs. I like that it invokes a vintage masculinity that is tastefully restrained. it's not too macho and not too sweet. the patchouli and wood notes effectively keep the vanilla and florals in check. I can't stand unrestrained sweetness and luckily that's not an issue with Zino. really nice balance here, and for less than $20 usd for 125ml it's a safe blind buy for anyone in the market for a versatile masculine scent

To hell with their reformulations already *Very very nice masculine mature profile *Very good resemblance to Mugler A*Men EDT 1996 of the latest reformulation *Perfect for early mornings and night out walk in autumn or early spring *Very woody to the point it may turn machine oil reminiscent If you don't have a budget to afford the classic A*men, buy this, but if you already own the latter, Zino may be kind of redundant, except if you don't want to waste A*men for hanging out with the gang.

Beau de Jour and Heritage really do smell similar to this. Silky smooth, creamy, powdery shaving soap with a huge emphasis on lavender. It's warm, it has huge personality for a $20 fragrance, and look who the nose is, it's Michel Almairac, who has dozens of all time classics to his credit, and is definitely up with the all time greats. I think where this one suffers, is that it doesn't last as long as Beau de Jour or Heritage, and it doesn't have the dry down, which is common with cheapies.

I bought and received Zino exactly at the same time as Egoiste and at the time I was fascinated by Egoiste so it made me less excited about Zino but I got to wear it finally today and it's really fucking good. It's Coty so expect low quality but the scent itself is incredible. If you put this up against... Egoiste(the fragrance that Jacques Polge himself thinks is probably better than Antaeus) maybe you won't really like it that much but if you wear it and give it time it's pretty amazing.

Davidoff Zino is a very unique fragrance. I'm a frequent Davidoff Zino cigar consumer, and this Zino fragrance carried the lineage shared with its cigar product line: This fragrance is strongly boozy, tobacco-y, and even oriental. The boozy part is more of a aged rum or whisky rather than alcohol-y like other "boozy" fragrances, which makes the Zino very unique and elegent without being overly heavy in its conveyance. and, very cheap pricing too! added many points because of its low price.

Probably like 98% similar to BDJ. Don't waste your money on that. You won't be able to tell them apart unless side by side, and even then, I think most people would struggle. If you sprayed this on and told anyone who is familiar with BDJ that it was BDJ, they would absolutely believe you. Snobs will try to play the quality card, but it's miniscule. At the end of the day, BDJ is an exorbitantly priced clone with zero advantage over this. P.S. I've went through 2 bottles of BDJ. Cheers!

One of the absolute best in the barbershop alley of scents, when it comes to the price tag. A masculine, old school (in a sexy way), sophisticated scent that lasts quite a while and projects nicely for the first two hours. Is the opening harsh? For some people it might be. Is it the most refined barbershop scent? Probably not. But there is just something about it that keeps pulling me back. More often than not, i do find myself reaching for it, and every time i do, i have a great time.

Up front there's a bit of a Barbasol vibe combined with the dusty "soil" accord of Terre d'Hermes. It's a great opening. Then very quickly it turfs out into more woody territory, where it lingers for the majority of its lifespan. The shaving cream note consistently hums in the background. Exceedingly well-composed for a fragrance at such a low price point. If you're on a budget, it's a real gem. In league with Encre Noir for best bang-for-your-buck masculine fragrance.

Take someone who thinks they dont like Patchouli, anyone, expose them to Zino Davidoff, you now have another Patchouli lover.. Super creamy, smooth, sweet Patchouli with an all star supporting cast that combine for an overall effect that to me is masculine chocolaty tobacco! Shares similarities with Guerlain Heritage, LIDG and TF Beau de Jour from my collection, but absolutely worth having. And despite it coming out in the late 80's it smells very relevant to me.

In the world of pachouli scents I can see the comparison to LIDG/E, and another that I don't see mentioned, Tempo. IMO this is far better than the current LIDG and, I think, also better than Tempo. (Tempo for me leans medicinal, disappointing.) The best cheapie I've purchased by far. Extremely well blended patchouli. Polarizing, sure. But patchouli always is. Smells better than the first sprays after letting it sit for a month. Longevity could be better.

I was genuinely surprised by this. I saw it on FragranceNet for $18 and I blind bought this. I was pleasantly surprised by the scent profile. Its a nice woody, patchouli thats smells very old school. To be honest, it smelt better in the air than on skin, but it still smells great. The performance is great for it being a cheapie, I get around 7 hours with a medium projection. I recommend this for the fall and winter. 10/10 masterpiece cheapie by Davidoff.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 030 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased May 2017 Another powerhouse. Smooth, little creamy, spicy vanilla but a statement-maker. This one's got a spine, people. Probably worth it to check out the slightly more tame, sensible, and elegant Avon Mesmerize; another classy Zino-like bottle. Batch: 5153 from 2nd June, 2015.
