Escándalo

Finally decided to purchase a full bottle after going through a sample and a travel size. I love this, I wasn’t sold on needing a full bottle when I first smelled it, but over time its become one of my favorites. This is a fruity guava fragrance with clean linen vibes. It also has a zingy ginger/lime opening and a little bit of rose in the dry down, but they are not the stars of this fragrance for me. If I hadn’t seen oud in the notes I never would have guessed it was there, it’s an extremely clean, woody smelling oud that is not very prominent. This lasts FOREVER, one day I decided to spray one spray on my arm a couple hours before I went to bed, and the next day at work I had a coworker tell me i smelled “really nice, and like fruity, but not like middle school fruity” this was around 10 hours after i sprayed, and she was standing about 3 feet away from me. I do get a slight resemblance to MFK 724, but it is only a SLIGHT resemblance, I have not smelled anything that is truly similar to this. This leans slightly feminine in my opinion, but overall its still unisex so I could see a man wearing it.

For all the hype Erba Pura gets, this beats it hands down. Tropical, fruity, musky in the best way. In the opening, the citrus profile is bright and you can detect a woody background. The musk vibe I wanna say comes from the Orcanox and carries a salty edge. As it dries down, the citrus gets softer but stays throughout. This is the only fragrance I've had where the citrus isnt gone in in the first two hours! I wouldn't have expected Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Eaglewood to anchor this fragrance in the way they do, but it incredibly enjoyable. Its sweet, but not overly so...just enough to pair with the limon dulce and guava. This to me is a summer and fall fragrance. It's strong enough for the colder weather, but for me, the scent profile feels better suited to day parties, warm Saturdays, and late night conversations on the beach. Criminally underrated, I guarantee people will discover this a few years from now and realize what a masterpiece this truly is.

I’m from New York City, whenever I smell this it reminds me of some of my Dominican friends. I’m not sure how to describe it but it smells like skin but fruit (guava) and something floral too. So imagine your holding slices of guava and one flower and just smash them together. I know it’s kinda weird how I’m describing it, but this is scary good. I bought the discover set from this house and of all the fragrances that were in the set, this and Downtown Deja Vu stood out way above the others, this takes the top spot only because the opening of Downtown Deja Vu (which is number 4 in my top 5 openings ever, even over the opening of this fragrance) goes away a little too quick for me. Last 7-9 hours depending on the amount of sprays & projects hard for the first 2 hours. I will be buying a full bottle of this at some point this month.

This is so good. Juicy tropical fruits and florals. There is a texture of it that reminds me of Fzotic's Unsettled minus Pineapple plus guava (and the guava + rose combo also reminds me very slightly of Fontevraud). Best for spring and summer, may work well in Fall. Even though it is an extrait de parfum and may guarantee the higher pricetag, performance wise it's slightly overpriced. I have been testing Bani and Escandalo side by side for more than two weeks and still cannot decide which one I'm getting a full bottle (I LOVE both of them but my budget doesn't) --and Bani is always the more pronounced and longer lasting on me.

THIS is what a fresh laundry perfume should smell like. Ethereal, warm, clean, and beautiful. Guava and lime linger, although they are top notes. The florals are so well done. The blend is amazing, Michael did an incredible job making this slightly green, fresh floral gem! ETA: the presentation of oud here is pure genius. It’s a clean, soft and reserved oud with a deep and mysterious presence that completely grounds this scent while also elevating it. Incredible!

A simply beautiful fragrance. Tropical in the opening with a natural rose throughout the mid and dry down. Lasts all day with mild sillage. Love this for late Spring through early Fall during warmer days here in the Midwest. Evokes mornings on a patio surrounded by tropical fauna. Soothing more than sensual to me, but your mileage may vary. Very reasonably priced and you can’t beat the personal touches sent with every purchase!

Fruity bubblegum, lime and dare I say, MINT? The oud is insanely soft again. This house is ridiculous. They deserve the world's notice....as someone said, this in a few years will be a grail for many many people, if we are lucky to have D3F in the future! This is so comfortable and playful. This is a family get together, a summer picnic. If your dark and emotionless, NOT FOR YOU!!!!

Such a great fragrance, I’m glad I’m part of community that can smell this into tomorrow, it last forever smells amazing and gets me crazy compliments. I’m also one that the Rose really doesn’t stand out, I could care less if it did but I struggle to find rose in this. It’s mainly guava and ginger 10/10 scent.

Escandalo is such a unique fruity floral. The fruits at the top are so interesting because it almost gives a oceanic vibe. The florals in the mid gives off clean and fresh and the dry down is green and woody. Phenomenal work from Michael.

This house is not playing with quality. It's perfect balanced between guava, ginger and vetiver that makes me take a shower of it 😀

Fragrantica, please fix the main accords: oud is NOT a prominent part of this fragrance! It is a light tropical fruity floral gem.

Very pleasant citrus fruity floral perfume. No sharp edges. Sweet but not overly so. This will be nice in the summer and winter.

Love this! Escalando has turned into my only date night choice.

Sampling Day Three Fragrances’ latest release, Escandolo, a fresh, tropical, fruity/floral blend with notes of sweet lemon, guava, rose de mai, jasmine sambac, white oud, and vetiver. It’s a lively blend that’s easygoing, versatile, and could suit a lot of wearers, I’d say. A bit tropical, a bit mysterious, but still somewhat comforting. It feels like a nice companion to Bani that is not at all redundant with Bani’s green mango/coconut vibe. I find it very easily likable though not quite as excellent as Bani, but like the rest of the house, this should be sampled by everyone and enjoyed by many, one of the freshie staples of a house of several great freshies. Escandolo is extrait de parfum concentration and is priced at $150/45 for 50/10ml, sold exclusively through the house website for now, similarly priced to other fragrances in the house’s now 10-deep catalogue. 7 out of 10

Escandalo is light and sweet- like a tropical sweet- but nothing as heavy as Erba Pura or God of Fire. The sweetness is light and playful, and dare I say, very nice. There is a green scent as well to this, truly making this a nice tropical scent. There is also something that seems aquatic in here as well hidden in the background- I'm not sure where it's coming from, but I'm getting light sweet green tropical vibes with a hint of some watery notes as well. I'd be happy if I was gifted a bottle of this- but I don't know if I'd shell out the $170 retail price for this. If it was 50 bucks less, I'd happily consider it! Edit. Now that it's dried down some- I'm absolutely getting Greenwich Village vibes.

To me, I get a lot of lemon and bergamot and white florals right off the bat. She's tart and bright and clean- almost too clean, veering into the Lysol/lemony fresh spray cleaner direction. The guava doesn't stand out to me- I mostly get a lemon-lime essential oil type of scent with some jasmine and gardenia, and zestiness from the ginger. Longevity is decent, but I don't think it's the true guava scent that I was hoping for.

This smells 100% feminine to me. It’s like carrying a basket of warm laundry fresh out of the dryer through a field of flowers. In the decant I have there is NO detectable guava or citrus nor do I detect anything tropical. It’s a very clean / floral fragrance that would smell attractive on a woman but as a man though it’s just too feminine for me personally. Did I possibly receive the wrong fragrance?

This was an okay release to me. It is not my least favorite but I felt it wasn't as splashy or memorable as many of the other offerings. Leans femme to me but is still a clean fruity summer offering. Citrus fruitiness burned off too soon for me leaving behind florals that left me feeling it did not fit to my personality. Soft and intimate with limited projection.

It opens with a fresh, green, and fruity fragrance reflective of a tropical vacation near a rainforest. Although I can't say I love this because of the faint sillage and longevity, and that the scent low-key resembles sweat. Its a real shame because it would be really sexy if it weren't for these flaws.
