Sampling Day Three Fragrances Filosofia, a semi-spicy, semi-sweet tobacco blend featuring black pepper, cardamom, cypriol, chocolate, hazelnut, and vanilla. It really blends both the spicier, intense elements with the more comforting gourmand notes in the dry down. It does not have a ton of evolution but is predicably a bit spicier and sharper in the opening while being sweeter and smoother in the dry down. The chocolate/vanilla blend is really nice, without too much of either, and perhaps the sharpness of the hazelnut dovetails nicely with the fading spices from the opening, but I do not get a distinct hazelnut note. Still, this is really cozy while also being sophisticated, and for me has a lot of versatility as a cold weather fragrance, perhaps stereotypically masculine-leaning, given that men’s scents have been very sweet in recent years, but effectively a unisex offering for anyone that likes tobacco. As with other entries in the house, I’m impressed with the restraint and care here, as it’s not an over-the-top scent but rather something that I think is carefully blended, refined over many tries. I wouldn’t say it’s terribly unique or covers especially new ground, as there are many scents that fit in this category, but this is absolutely worth trying as I could easily see it being someone’s very favorite. It has that upside for me. I think so far, Ambar Dominicano and Bani are my favorites of the line, but this is third after those two. Filosofia is extrait concentration and is priced at $235/135/40 for 100/50/10ml, roughly equivalent to the other offerings in the catalogue, and so sold via the house website. It performs quite well, fitting for a more cold-weather-leaning fragrance. 8 out of 10

Discovery Set Sample - Used half the vial Similar Vibes and Scent Profiles... Double Attack chocolatey/vanilla + Herod tobacco/vanilla + Prada Black powdery/mystery That's what I am getting off of this. It is beautiful and no notes really stick out heavily but have to search for it. It's date night fragrance and unisex with a tad masculine touch. Its a fragrance that doesn't seem to have much push but it is seductive and one that will get someone to come closer to really get a good whiff. Definitely anyone can pull this off if you enjoy the fragrances listed above. It is purely beautiful scent with excellent craftsmanship in it. I am unsure to performance at this time, but the scent is enough to have me look at the price point of a full bottle after the first three minutes of exposure to this. It is addicting and got my attention! Three season fragrance and night scent. Again, I would say this is date night or calm evening with a significant others.

The opening of this is warmly spiced and very smooth. You get a prominent cardamom with hints of sweetness and a dash of aromatic pepper. The heart of this is extremely creamy, softly sweet, and perfectly smoky. This smells just like when you open a hidden away cigar box, it’s not your typically ashy, extra smoky and dry tobacco smell. The hazelnut adds a gorgeous nuttiness and blended with tobacco and cashmere it feels like you’re wearing your favorite knit sweater in a late night cigar lounge. The dry down has a creamy vanilla with a powdery dark chocolate and dry musky leather. The masculine facets here feel balanced by the sweetness and makes this perfectly unisex. A gorgeous take on tobacco that I think tobacco haters would find enjoyment in.

So Filosofia... this puts me in the mind of fragrances like Nasomatto's Pardon not in scent or DNA none of that but in how chocolate, hazelnut and other respective "sweet" accords blended into these profiles to not come off not in a gourmand way but in elegance, class, masculinity and kinda situational but signature scent worthy as well. All of that with a prominent cardamom and tobacco creating a beautiful photo realistic Dominican cigar based fragrance that is perfect for fall and winter. I'm currently wearing this enjoying a nice stick and a neat glass of bourbon. Filosofia is quite the pairing on the senses as it is gentle yet present and pleasant.

Amazing, incredibly sexy, and strikingly similar to Double Attack. If you don't like dark chocolate notes (and I don't mean this in a gourmand sense), you won't enjoy this fragrance. Additionally, don't let the tobacco note deter you; it is blended perfectly. To elaborate, consider the subtle hint of smoke in Aventus and how beautifully it integrates with the other notes. I'm not a person who enjoys smokey or tobacco notes for that matter, but when smoke gets mixed into the composition of Aventus, it's absolutely wonderful. Finally, as a 22-year-old, I can confidently say this fragrance works well for the early 20s age range. Absolute winter staple.

Let me start off by saying this respectfully- Dude that said “Imagine Killian Angels’ Share” might have huffed too much Axe body spray when he was younger. 😂 This is a very pleasant spicy nutty vanilla tobacco that has very deep dark undertones thanks to the oud and chocolate. The chocolate here comes off as a very dark dark chocolate with some mild smokiness. Keep in mind, I am not a fan of oud typically, but this is blended wonderfully in. On initial spray, you are welcomed with a humongous blast of incredibly clean cardamom, but it quickly subsides to welcome in the heart notes. This is perfect for fall nights or anytime in the winter.

Notes are very accurate. The initial spray is heavy in the pepper and warm spice, but it quickly becomes a chocolatey tobacco. The nutty chocolate quality to the tobacco give it a dry sweetness, while the warm spice gives a light sizzle. It retains the sweet and smokey noir quality throughout. A sophisticated tobacco scent where the bitter spicy dark chocolate differentiates it from the realm of gooey honey tobacco that so many other scents turn into. 7.9/10

Another winner from the good folks at Day Three! More of a “sweet” than “dry” tobacco scent, blended exquisitely with chocolate, hazelnut and Oud. This one is just a cozy, near-gourmand scent perfect for Fall/Winter and cooler Spring days. Doesn’t have monster sillage/projection, but provides this wonderful scent bubble for you and those you want within an arm’s length. Good longevity and pretty dang unisex (leaves just slightly masculine). Cheers! :)

Love this as a layering fragrance! As a woman, I think the scent on its own can be a bit too masculine and overpowering for me - hence the layering. I use it specifically at night, often when I’m going to bars or somewhere dark and moody. One spray only. And I almost always layer it with another fragrance - usually for me it’s Oud Davana or Minuit et Demi.

I’ve been on the fence with tobacco fragrances lately and have even decluttered some. I really enjoyed how smooth this one is, you can tell it’s of good quality, the notes all blend smoothly; no sharp edges here. A smooth chocolatey slightly sweet tobacco scent that’s perfect for cooler weather.

It smells like smoky coconut almond joys with tobacco. Also I'd say its masculine but a girl could def wear it if they wanted too cuz its decently sweet/ gourmandy

A distant yet more mature and may I say rugged Prada black

I was sitting on the back porch with my friends on the first evening of spring break in South Carolina. The weather was warmer than where we came from, but there still a very mild crispness to the air. Joking all together we talked about how we made it; the trip left the group chat. In celebration we lit up a dark cigar, the most wonderful smell of spices and dark chocolate smoldering mixes with the smell of the hazelnut and vanilla cocktails I made for all of us. Life is good. This is a beautiful, dark, deep, opulent, and rich scent. It starts off with a spicy and slightly fresh peppery cardamom. If you love fiery and in your face cardamom like I do, you will love this opening like I already do. Almost immediately it calms down and mixes with this ashy, dry and woody tobacco and thick, rich, and warm vanilla hazelnut dip. It’s the same kind of vibe as tobacco vanilla but the focus is on the tobacco and not the vanilla. As it dries down the sweetness grows with the addition of dark chocolate, but still never overtaking the tobacco. This is really good stuff, and I can see this leaning a bit more confident/older to a lot of people, but I personally love this as a 20 year (as of writing this). Leans W/F but I think it can be worn during any night with a slight or greater chill in the air. TLDR: Sexy and smooth tobacco heavy tobacco/vanilla fragrance with the added twists of hazelnut, cardamom, and dark chocolate. 8/10 Wonderful performance, but moderate projection.

Love the scent profile. Warm and sweet/spicy. Tobacco is here but a bit less prominent than the notes would suggest. Chocolate and vanilla mingle playfully in the base. It's a very inviting scent. The people talking about how masculine or mature this fragrance is really surprise me. I expect to hear that about stuff from Rogue, like my beloved Bonded, but this is something super easy to wear for just about anyone in any age group. I'd love smelling something like this on a cute girl. Unfortunately, longevity is surprisingly poor for an extrait, a problem which I haven't had with my bottle of Aylan. That one you can smell on clothes 12+ hours later, while Filosofia disappears from my clothes around 4-6 hours, meaning that I'm probably getting 3-4 hours of longevity on skin max, maybe less. Maybe overspraying would help, but with these notes I could imagine that becoming cloying quite quickly. Kind of surprised at this one's longevity, given the concentration and the notes in it, but it may need a bit of maceration. Warmer weather is coming so it'll have a chance to rest soon.

This is a beautiful lively scent. It has a somewhat photorealistic "burning" smell much like the tobacco note you find in Amouage's Royal Tobacco or Kilian's Smoking Hot. The tobacco is not as "creamy" or smooth as in Initio's Side Effect or Tom Ford's Tobacco Oud or Tobacco Vanille. This is a little rough around the edges. That being said, as the opening dries down, the chocolate and vanilla balance things out. The scent lingers in the air for a while. It's something that is hard not to look. Personally, I'd even call it mass appealing. I am a fan of tobacco's and can safely say this is an enjoyable one. It be a bit redundant for some collections with more extravagant offerings, but most people will definitely like this. I've received multiple compliments on my few wearings. It was easily the most impressive from Day Three fragrances sample set.

Sexy, unique, and the best kind of challenging for those new to niche fragrances, Filosifia is worth the plunge. It’s an experience, evolving from its initial intrigue to a comforting, enveloping presence that's both wearable and memorable. It's like slipping into a mystery novel set in a cozy, late-night cigar lounge. Initially, the fragrance opens with cardamom and a hint of sweetness. As it settles, Filosifia transforms to a creamy, softly sweet, yet slightly smoky scent with a little hazelnut. Give it time to dry down fully before you make a judgment call! The balance of masculine and sweet notes makes it totally unisex.

Wow... so good! The oud and tobacco in here are so well blended that it isn’t too much and I don’t care for tobacco usually.. it’s soft and warm and the vanilla balances it out perfectly. Leans a bit masculine but as a female I would definitely wear this. I only have a sample so I can’t say much about how long it wears and sillage. But the oud and tobacco are very lovely in here. Probably a safe blind buy if you like spicy vanillas!

Filosofia from Day Three fragrances is a solid perfume...to boil the scent down, compare it to Oud Wood mixed with an unlit, slightly minty, (cardamom, not actual mint) unlit cigar...the drydown brings out a powdery vanilla and, to my nose, a subdued sandalwood (even though it isn’t listed in the notes)...performance is light...that’s the main knock on this house...they produce nice smells, but they don’t last or project very well

Chocolate nutty cigar esque. I like it. Really like it. Not quite a love yet. But it is really smooth. Well blended. Better than I expected. Projection was low but this lasted over 11 hours. Mostly as a skin scent. But I was happily surprised to keep smelling it on skin later in the day. My first full wear from the discovery set. Off to a great start.

my 1st thoughts were that this smelled like old le male but then I realized it smells more like a higher quality take on cuba gold which I believe is a dupe of le male. this is good, not great. overall performance is ok. 6 hrs longevity & soft to mild sillage/projection off of my skin. head over to my IG @smellmytaste2.0 for more fragrance content 🙏

To my unseasoned nose, it smells like a darker, chocolatey Naxos. However, it's more smooth and lacks that freshness. It's equally gourmand (I get chocolate and something honey-like mostly) on top of an ashy yet soft tobacco. Hours later the drydown smells a bit like pencil shavings to me. 7/10, a like for me.

For me this is a nice dark and dry vanilla-hazelnut fragrance. Interestingly I pick up a hint of coffee Easy to wear, smells like a designer release but not in a bad way 8.3/10

I tested this from the sample set and I like it. On my skin the chocolate definitely pops quite a bit along with vanilla and hazelnut. This is pretty gourmand to my nose because of the sweetness. Second comes the tobacco and it’s very smooth and well blended. Sometimes, tobacco can become a bit sour and sharp to my nose but in Filosofia it’s very smooth. There is hardly any Oud that I can detect. Overall, this is a well balanced and blended fragrance. It leans a bit masculine but not that much (pretty unisex). Longevity seems above average and moderate silliage (no where close to Ambar Dominicano). Not sure why but performance seems a bit weak, I wish it was the scent was stronger. It’s not a love, but I need to give it more time. Edit: the dry down is great! After two full wears I give it 3.5 out of 5. It’s good but the performance is pretty bad on my skin.

Not unisex. Very manly. Very mature man (60+) Im a woman and I love wearing swy intensely, Herod, oajan, pure havane, jazzclub. But this is too masculine for me. I get a lot of tobacco, oud and cardamom. It’s a nice fragrance and a work of art I must say but not for me. Unfortunately I don’t get vanilla or chocolate. It’s a little nutty but not much. Despite the main accords stated I don’t get any sweetness from this and either do the people I ask. Edit: After my bottle sat for a little while it definitely changed. I’m getting chocolate and vanilla which makes it more unisex.

Not feeling the peppery undertone or the offbeat sweetness of the chocolate / vanillan synthesis. Otherwise, nutty cardamom, tobacco, oud and hazelnut...if only it were as good as it sounds. Mediocre!!

Posting my review from the scent lounge 🍫🚬 Filosofia by Day Three 🌰🍦 Judging by the notes, I wasn’t really sure what to expect because oud, tobacco, and black pepper are usually hard nos for me 😬 but Danielle and I have almost the same nose so I knew this had to be good. And man was she right! This opens up with the black pepper and tobacco, but surprisingly it’s not overwhelming at all! I know that sounds crazy because those two notes separately can be very overwhelming, you put them together you’d think it’d be a spice bomb, but nope. Even the oud—which I’ll add that anytime I see oud as a note I won’t touch it with a ten foot pole. Something about the way they did these notes.. they are so smooooooth, almost comes across as creamy. The initial spray comes off the most sharp (still not overwhelming though) and then once it starts to dry down that vanilla absolute comes out. It comes across as straight up realistic vanilla pod type vanilla to me. A little bit of cardamom that gives it this nuttiness. Once it dries down is where I get the chocolate and hazelnut. These two notes aren’t overwhelming at all either. They’re not distinct, they don’t stand out, but they’re there and they give it a sweet, powdery creaminess. This fragrance is soooo well blended. The longer it sits on the skin, the more sweetness that comes out. No note overpowers the next. This is definitely a sexy, dark, deep, moody, sultry, bad ass b*tch scent and could even be good on men. In my opinion, this is the perfect take on tobacco. If you are scared of a tobacco note but want to dip your toes into it, I highly recommend sampling this! Perfect date night scent. So well done. So well blended. Just sexy. I don't know about you guys, but this projection is BIG. maybe not strong, but definitely above moderate. Soft, vanillic cardamom, not a pungent cardamon, a very well done one. You will pick up on oud very lightly, it's there, but its.... exactly where the notes say, a middle note. Wow. This house is alarmingly good. I bought downtown deja vu off them 2 years ago, full bottle blind buy. I don't REGRET it, but..... HOLY this is the one. I'd say this LEANS feminine, but it's not, it is definitely unisex, but some men will differ. They are wrong. This is a lovely, soft floral, vanillic oudy, musky masterpiece..

I was excited to receive this in the mail after all the hype is getting...the first sniff literally reminded me of my dad. To my nose, this is a fragance my dad (who's in his 60s) would wear. I bought it thinking that if I don't like it, I would give it to my husband. But I honestly dont want my husband smelling like my dad. It gives me the vibes of a very mature, well put together, classy man. I bought it thinking it was unisex, but I do not consider this unisex as it is very manly.

Eager to try this. I’ve been looking for Noir Aphrodisiaque by Killian and that discontinued a while ago. Have been looking for a spicy chocolate. Will come back with a review as soon as I get my hands on a sample.

Beautiful chocolate cigar with incense is what I get. Absolutely love this fragrance. It’s a bit more mature for my age but I don’t care Ima be definitely wearing the hell out of this during the winter.

An older more mature version of Killian's Black Phantom. Less sweet, a little calmer, a little more mysterious.

It's ok. Nothing special about this. A bit tobaco with synthetic leather nouances
