Fond d'Amour

I was very surprised when I smelled Found d’amour for the first time. Beautiful non typical gourmand creation that oozes sophistication and infernal addictiveness. Every second person compliment my perfume and in a matter of minutes I got so many compliments then ever before. It is blended with complex niche and commercial known fresh accords that never scream too gourmand or too niche or too commercial but they dance in a beautiful synergy that makes it outstanding and completely addictive and made me a new fan of De Gabor perfumes.

If you are expecting a delectable, rich, indulgent gourmand fragrance; you will be just as disappointed as I was when I first got to try Fond d'Amour. From the moment this fragrance is applied it exudes a most strange odor I can only describe as resin like with an unpleasant freshness to it, that almost reminds me of the frosty shimmer of aldehydes. Where is the bittersweet flavor of chocolate? What about the nutty notes, the Irish cream, the coffee? I don't get any of these at all. Instead, that unsavory "fresh" resinous smell is all-pervading. There is a slight nutty "feeling" to Fond d'Amour, but nowhere near enough to call it a hazelnut note or accord. The scent doesn't change much from here. It simply fades over the coming hours. What a shame! What is advertised as an addictive gourmand fragrance turns out to be a synthetic smelling mess made of icky resin notes and a weird, plastic freshness. I wonder what materials went into this scent, as it doesn't smell high quality at all.
