Leather Forever

initial reaction: straight-up petrol with leather smell but there is a hint of saffron in it and spices and it is pretty headache-inducing. now after some time it starts o smell like an old man in a fancy suit with a hint of tobacco- but overall this just reminds me more of the inside of a car- really want to love this one because i was pleasantly surprised by the tom ford ombre leather so i expected this leather to be more on the pleasant side as well but lo behold it is definitely not for me- it is a great scent, love it in its form and blend but i do not see myself wearing this even if i like heavy fragrances, but who knows it might grow on me and maybe it needs a certain mood to be worn after i sprayed it on my skin i have to say it is soo intoxicating, i immediately was taken to Italy for some reason, like sitting at home drinking wine enjoying a good time with friends while the view it to a sunset- this is a heavy scent tho and would easily cause a head ache if you over spray once or twice is enough-

De Gabor Leather forever starts with the "Vintage Dior Fahrenheit Gasoline note", amped up 10 times, mixed with high-quality Italian leather, a hint of spices, a touch of Kokkaine note and nonbarnyard oud. Oud shines more in the dry down, although leather is the prominent leader here. I think Rammstein was trying to achieve the same kind of concept in his perfume Kokkaine but failed with the projection in his first EDT release. Rammstein tried again with EDP but still not much luck. On the other hand, De Gabor nailed it as this one lasts forever and projects crazily. As it is Extrait, spray it and let the whiff come to you. Please wait for 10 min to smell it directly, or it may burn your nose. The longer it stays on the skin, the better and smoother it gets. This one is pure addiction. Not for the faint-hearted. 2-3 sprays are enough at a time. Enjoy!

As you can imagine, it does not get more leather than this!🤩 Leather Forever is a dream for lovers of leather based fragrances. For me, this is one of the most complex, deep and authentic smelling leathers i have ever put my nose on. Gabriels craftmanship and the quality of the ingredients used here is impeccable.👌🏻 Leather Forever opens with shiny black leather gloves. Iranian saffron, smoky cinnamon and black truffle. The heart smells of a leather jacket, and leather trousers created by Tuscan iris, oud, sandalwood, patchouli, vetyver, birch accord and warm amber. The base smells of a fetish leather belt with warm musk, castoreum, oud, oakmoss and vanilla. As a bonus, the bottle and presentation is just beautiful and the attention to detail is amazing. If you love leathers, this is one not to miss!

Surprised at how light this one was, given how all the product info is all, like, LEATHERLEATHERLEATHERLEATHER. Yes, it's a leather. That's kind of all it is, but it's a nice one. Sits pretty close. At first I'm getting a bit of new car leather interior. I don't get the fecality or any oud at all, honestly. There's a little muskiness that lurks in later, and some vanilla or amber adding an impression of sweetness in the background, but it's all very subtle. Much like his "Genders" there are a lot of notes listed but most of them I'm not getting at all. Thankfully I don't pick up the dithiapentane (the primary flavorant used in every "truffle oil" you've ever eaten, and the "truffle" in every perfume) because that shit is frankly disgusting. And about three hours later, on my skin, it's gone. Finito. On clothing it still hangs a bit. but I have to stick my nose right in it. I'm not sure where they got the "ultra-longlasting" in the product description from. It's a nice subtle leather. I quite like it, despite it listing ingredients I'm normally not fond of. They're well integrated enough that they're not taking over, just supporting the overall leatheriness. But at the staggering price, it really needs more staying power.

Leather Forever really surprised me. It opened with prominent leather along with a spicy/bitter accord which I assume is the saffron. I did not get any rose or cinnamon and don't know what black truffle smells like. It's certainly possible some well blended combination of these notes contributed to the spicy/bitter accord. As it began to dry down, the animalic accord became much more prominent. It wasn't oud barnyard or cheese but more just a general oily animal scent. The leather became less. It seemed to be a castoreum scent more than a leathery scent. Or, to put it another way, Leather Forever is not an animalic leather but a leathery animalic, if that makes sense. In the final dry down, it reminded me very much of Zoologist's Hyrax, only slightly stronger. Longevity and projection were pretty good. I'd rate Leather Forever as quite masculine and certainly wearable, but nothing special. It's best use would be as a base layer to animal-up other fragrances. However, seeing that it goes for $300 for 50 ml, it's kinda expensive for that purpose. I'll pass.

This is an interesting scent. It starts out leathery and a bit fecal without the strong oud that can accompany it, yet the fecal vibe fades pretty quickly...then I get a diesel/gas vibe with the leather...then that fades and I get a dark sweetness with the leather. A bit of a boozy sweetness that seems to be linked with the truffle. It is an interesting scent, and it last a while. It's mysterious and unique....a night or winter/fall scent. It needs to be sampled before buying though

Not sure how I feel about this one. There's more castoreum here than actual leather. Sure, one could argue the scents are similar, but the differences are going to be somewhat obvious if you've come this far in your fragrance journey and are venturing towards niche stuff. The overall scent is all about woodsy smoky castoreum and leather, a touch of florals, and an animalic tinge that can come off austere - - this is a very daring scent. Quite frankly, I'm not even sure how this is classified as a fougere, as there's nothing green or clean about this scent. However, this is both dirty and smooth, in the most elegant way. In short, this is a niche version of Antaeus, so if you love that one, chances are you'll inevitably love this one also. Unfortunately, I can't make up my mind on whether I enjoy Antaeus or not, which also means, I can't quite make up my mind about this one either. There are slight similarities to Oud Wood Intense, as well. Mostly the castoreum.

so at the start I fell in love with the smell top and mid notes are amazing and I really loved the smell for the first 5 hours but after the dry down it smell to me like piss because of the castoreum note really turned me off but It's just my opinion go and try it by yourself the start really smelled like a masterpiece.

Dark brown hard leather saddle that you get in the package including horse, stable, straw and unswept stall, intense smell of manure from time to time. ANIMALIC PUNK - not in sexy way. It gets better after 3h but still not office safe and not recommended as a date night thing :)

if too soon one would write a review, we can get quite a wrong image of this perfume. 'it is complicated'. the first impression of this perfume for me is at home with a Full Bottle of [Extrait de] Perfume 50mL for 370 euros. this is my way of acquiring perfume. I must admit that I thought this time, I blew it. but the core seemed to be: get used to this peculiar, strong, complex and multitudinous perfume. then the review will be more apt. firt days I sprayed three times, at my left pulse, and twice in the Nape of the Neck left and right, as I always do. (I must say the insight, of not using too much and especially not in the beginning, I have agreed upon and I seem to learn, but only so slowly and stubborn and stupid.) so with the three Spritzes it seemed as if a Freight Train had just drove into my Brains. it was almost to the point of unbearability. it was a thick wall of Leather, Castoreum and Oud. now I often, if not mostly, had and have such perfumes. 'Al Waad', Promise, I smelled through the sealed parcel, sealed perfume bottle and all wrapped in cellophane and packages, I smelled the perfume and immediately had a YES. although it also proved to be quite challenging. I have seven (six now) Oudh Infinis from Dusita. strangely, armored with the same inimpenetrable wall of Laotian Oud Palao (THE barnyard oud par excellence) and a hefty dose of civet, it first takes over the control and let you feel what perfume is all about. and in fact all Hookerperfumes of the 1980s, did the same. they were so exceedingly heavy and sultry and lush-louche, they annexated complete biomes around you. then the period of Montales, from 2003 until now (for me, that is), which all have a screechingly loud alarmist entrée. and that is only the entrée. but I have always loved his Rose-Ouds. yet for a moment I thought the De Gabor was too much. only now, today, after three hours of uninterrupted attacks with Leather Slabs, the perfume thaws up and here comes a beautiful Iris smell, along with an almost Fougere Structure. had the perfume immediately ressorted to this more serene place, I had found it less in character and quality. Saffron, Smoke, Truffle, check. and if I be the only person who smells the rosebud, then that is the case. Rose I always pick up upon. it is my flower. I think the Cinnamon, Amber, Styrax and Vanilla also bring softer spaces, hours, mixxologies with the perpetuous onslaught of Leather, Oud & Castoreum. animalics in perfume I swoon in. for exemple Marions-Nous of Oriza L Legrand opens up with the strongest Piss Smell of Civet and it makes the perfume for me. in Oudh Infini there is also a great tome of Civet. and Rose de Mai... I have a feeling this perfume has deserved the status 'Masterpiece' but can only be judged in months. (later) about the drydown of this perfume, one could write Volumes. I can smell where all the aromas are coming from, and so, yes indeed, all the Pomp & Circumstance were needed, to soften, make fluid like gauzes, waving like grasses and fields of lavender, dripping as rivulets of water but also clay from the banks of the Ganges, its further Prosperity. it is a far, soft land where I receive now these balming, soothing smells from. the transference did move slowly from the Initial Furor and Fervor drip by drip and second by second, slowly over in this rest. which already also lasts for hours. (it reminds me somewhat of Dusitas Issara.) but it is sweeter, more feminine, yes that must be the erratically named 'Rosebud' Note, with Amber, Musk, Vanilla. Cinnamon and perhaps the evening-out of Patchouli which also can have thousand faces. it is an Exemplary, Imperial, Exclusivist perfume with thousand Secrets. Chypre Palatin (above), although quite different, has perhaps a same impact. as also 'Al Waad' (Promise), Oudh Infini, chanel COCO, Cartier Oud & Rose. etcetera. in short: I am very lucky with the perfume and next are Geisha Diva and Darling Rouge, the White Flowers & Roses Roses Roses Bombs of the De Gabor. (now 280,00 € instead of 370 € [what I paid])

A fecal/poopy leather oud that becomes ultra light and soft as it dries. The opening is bombastic but it VERY QUICKLY settles to a faint scent of nothingness. A serious problematic pattern I've seen for this house. Notes with such promise but executed poorly or just too low a concentration of oils. Whatever it is this house is a HELL NO for me. Please sample first because the price they ask for mediocrity is Ludicrous!

Classical arabian styled leather, saffron & oud. Soft, sweet yet dominant. Heavy on the patchouli with the leather being raw, dirty and salty. Pinch of cinnamon. I can feel a faint rose in here but that may very well just be what my nose is used to sensing in these types of compositions.

Sounds good, since I’m a big fan of leather, and since no one has mentioned any impact on the tuscan iris, I’ve guess I have to wait until I order.
