Fragrance 02

Wow, green. Cool, but warm/contrast. Tart. Spicy, but brisk and bright. Nutty, ooh. Hazelnut? Not nearly as heavy as I feared. I like this. Probably my favorite first impression from my six-sample tin. And this was a last-minute pick! On skin: This is nice. Nutty and warm and a bit like Hanami (of old). Deeper. Arid. Slightly smokey. Wow, this is a bit of every note ever. Surprised there isn't bergamot or some darker citrus (bitter orange) listed. A woody warmth, but it's more vibrant than that. Dries to a patchouli wood, slightly sweet and on my skin a bit like lingering cigarettes. Beautiful, but...not really my fresh vibe. EDIT: I fell in love with this after revisiting it months later. It's incredibly smooth and clean. The smoky and green sharpness with that arid warm wood crispness lingers on my skin in a way I've never experienced before. It actually works with my skin's chemistry to emphasize dustiness in a way that's so beautiful and cozy. There's no phase of this fragrance that smells odd or offends. From top to bottom, on my skin, it's gorgeous. And the base (Milk) that lingers with the warmth...it creates a slightly-sweet woody cleanness that's stunning even hours later. Finally full-bottled it.

I think this is the only dedcool scent out of the sampler I picked that I want the full bottle of. It feels mysterious, and woodsy without going into Christmas-y territory. I personally never feel it warm up, but about 30 minutes in it gets this great juicy vibe that reminds me of red berries. It's a juniper scent that's boozy without smelling exactly like a gin and tonic, which I appreciate. The patchouli and sandalwood come together really naturally, so to me I never really feel like I'm in a hippy store. I will say that the first 10 minutes or so are super bitter, and after about 5 hours it gets to be kind of a non-descript woodsy skin scent (it's still good, but just loses complexity). I like it a lot, and it's kind of hard for me to describe! I think it's light enough for the daytime but mysterious enough for the night. For reference, my favorit scents are either fig or incense.

This is my favorite DedCool perfume and one of my all-time favorite perfumes in general. The juniper is really juniper berries rather than bark. As a result I think this smells very sweet and juicy rather than woody, though the sandalwood and patchouli base notes are noticeable and balance it out well. The sweet juniper gives more of an outdoorsy sweetness rather than overtly girly. It's a sexy scent for sure, and I get complimented every time I wear it. That in part is probably due to the incredibly strong sillage and longevity of this perfume. The scent really doesn't evolve much over time, so what you smell in the first hour is more or less exactly what you'll smell on hour 12. I've found this to be true for most DedCool perfumes, and I appreciate knowing what I'm getting.

I first smelled this in a small boutique and right then I immediately had to have it. I did some research after and discovered that the brand is non-toxic. I was surprised that it lasted as long as it did, because perfume usually requires a little bit of that poison to last. I guess it is woodsy, a little incense-y at first spray. The notes are patchouli, sandalwood, juniper, etc. This doesn't smell natural at all and I don't mean that in a bad way. It could be the presentation helping out here (plain bottle, generic name, barcode), but this smells like the future...clean, synthetic, androgynous. After the initial smokiness dies, what you are left with is soft and sexy, but with a little edge or bite. I love Fragrance 02..a perfect scent for the brave, new world.

earthy and woody, and she’s strong. I get whiffs all day long, it definitely lasts. 02 is my favorite dedcool fragrance other than milk which is an easy to love skin scent. i enjoy taunt but only purchase the detergent because that’s exactly what the scent is to me, a good detergent. most of the dedcool fragrances i’ve tried smack you in the face at first and then grow on you as they dry down. this one reminds me of christmas with the sweet and spicy wood notes but the juniper and florals feels really sophisticated. I’ve had this for a while and just started wearing it now that the weather is getting colder. i wouldn’t blind buy, dedcool in general feels like an acquired taste and fortunately they have great sample sets.

top notes are juniper, spruce, pine, a dry forest, the cold southwest. the sun is setting over the mesas; you set up camp. now you're warmer, more comfortable, nestled against the swell of old trees. the staying power is enormous; the impression of a night in the woods remains in you. you're left with a sweetness, a balsamic base so sweet it nearly turns chocolaty, like the mocha you buy in the tiny ski town the morning you leave from your trip. so far this is the only dedcool fragrance i'd like in a full bottle. it's so comforting. feels like an essential to build a fragrance collection, perfect for winter.

I got a bottle of Fragrance 02 as a BOGO when purchasing a 1.7oz bottle of a different Dedcool fragrance. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it this much. The opening of Fragrance 02 is very wood-forward, and after about 90 minutes it fully settles from woody juniper into the most plush, warm, soapy clean smell that I am utterly enthralled with. It’s elegant and earthy. I am lucky that it works beautifully with my skin; I can see how it’s a polarizing, love-it-or-hate-it fragrance.

My favorite scent ever. It might seem like medicine on the first sniff, but it turns into the most beautiful smell on skin in like 10 minutes. I first sniffed it on my friend years ago and have been absolutely obsessed ever since. It's woody and sweet at the same time, wearable during any season really. imo the most underrated DedCool fragrance. I guess a spicy opening scares a lot of people, but it should be tested on skin and definitely given time.

oh my love this is gorgeous! when i smell this, i see a hedge witch walking through a mossy pine forest with a small basket of berries after it has rained. dedcool, you are so so dirty just take my money now!

Feels like a younger, more frugal sister of Dipthyqye Orpheon. Very juniper forward but more light and juicy than powdery. I love this, it's been my daily go-to for the winter/early spring :)

A gender-punky sandalwood that smells like the sweat of the sexiest person you've ever met in the best way possible. This one is underappreciated! Very unisex.

The pine and juniper is very prominent in this fragrance. I love it but I'm a slut for woody scents. I do wish it was longer lasting!

I got this from a friend who said it was one of their least favorites from the samples they ordered, so that's a strong sign that it isn't for everyone. But I got the fun chance to form an opinion completely blind to what it's supposed to smell like. Opening is super clean and bright, I can definitely get the juniper. But the drydown for me is like candy with just a lil hint of patchouli. Maybe like pinecones preserved in glycerin? I'm glad a couple people in the comments mentioned marshmallows and strawberries because I thought I was losing my mind. Not woodsy or unisex to me at all, smells more like a 19 year old girl who wears lots jangling bracelets and brings a cherry cola with her everywhere she goes. I mean it in a good way though, like I still wanna eat it 🤷

The opening of this is perfection - like signature scent quality. Love the woody floral smell rounded out with just a hint of sweetness. Very unisex, and has that sort of je ne sais quoi factor. 40 mins however, this is 100p patchouli to me. I don't mind it, I like patchouli a lot, but yes VERY HEAVY patchouli dry down. The opening is a LOVE// the dry down is a like. Hard to say who I picture it on bc to me the opening and dry down are so different.

At first it smelled like cherry cough medicine and I almost had to scrub it off. It still has that sickly sweet scent that you get in medicine. As it’s dried down I definitely get the earthiness and the juniper but it’s a little bit too sweet for office where, a little bit too musky for every day, and not strong enough to wear out. I think it would be a good fragrance for someone’s androgynous partner that’s looking for a jammy skinscent

I really enjoy this. It’s reminding me of a less sweet version of Gris Charnel. For some reason I’m smelling cardamom, but cardamom isn’t listed at all, I really do notice the juniper and sandalwood. It almost smells a little smoky to me? Or maybe I’m imagining that, because it reminds me of a campfire. This is fresh, slightly sweet, and spicy, but not too much. It’s balanced. I think I need a full bottle of this?

This smells like every sexy outdoorsy person you wish you could be like but who can tolerate a lot more discomfort and high altitude than you. It’s the hot guy working at REI in the summers between ski seasons. Or that girl who manages to look unbelievable in her hiking photos on instagram after two weeks of backpacking without a shower.

Initially, I hated the opening - it smelled like bitter Chinese herbal medicine. However, after 20 minutes it softened down to the most amazing unisex woody, almost piney scent. Sometimes even pulling a bit minty and herbally. Not sure if I'll be purchasing a full bottle but would love to smell this on others

You open a cedar cabinet in an old forest cabin to find a catalogue of medicinal elixirs and syrups. Woodsy, camphorous, herbal, and syrupy sweet.

Reminds me of a Zoologist scent but I can't put my finger on which one. Definitely has something animalic to it.

initial thoughts: it has a strong, almost medicinal smell to it - however it does calm down a bit (might just be that its a strong juniper smell). it has a very woodsy and cabin-like to me like going in early or late fall to the woods/cabins with family on a short road trip and just walking around outside to appreciate the open air. not my vibe but definitely not horrible

I wanted to like this so badly, but I think I have learned that I cannot tolerate sandalwood. The juniper is so wonderful in this fragrance, and the woody notes are great, but the sandalwood kills it for me. It's too warm and creamy and heavy. This fragrance lasts for a long time, which is a plus for anyone who likes it.

Patchouli and juniper dominant. Reminiscent of someone’s hippie auntie selling homemade jewelry and candles by the beach. I don’t dislike this fragrance but it isn’t my scent profile. My husband thought it smelled good, like pine trees and good gin, so he can keep the sample.

blind bought this thinking it would be more patchouli leaning. definitely not the dark / herbal / smoky i was expecting. bright fresh juniper reminiscent of spilled sticky gin. smells good out of the bottle, just not on me.

This smells like hot apple juice and hay. Very sweet and cloying to me. Last FOREVER and unfortunately gave me a headache like most DedCool scents. Still love Milk and XTRA Milk forever, but this one I had to give away.

This fragrance did very green. I don’t get woody and warm, it is more crisp and fresh on me. It feels almost like I’ve stolen a hoodie from a lover. This is a more masculine to me. Overall, I wouldn’t say this is bad, just not the fragrance for me. Edit: on the dry down, I do get the Christmas tree vibes, and after wearing it to the gym and sweating in it, it warmed up a bit. Still not the scent for me, but definitely palatable and less overwhelming once it dries down. Final update: By the end of the day, it got really warm and almost like a soft vanilla on me. But as my best friend who also tried the scent said, you shouldn’t have to go through that much with a fragrance to enjoy it. Definitely better for green lovers but be aware the scent may change throughout the day.

It's giving me a headache and nausea. The scent is not bad at all but there's something in it that just doesn't sit well with me. After waiting a while and trying on several days, I realize this is the reason why I feel so uneasy lately. As for the smell itself, it's not my favorite from Dedcool. It's quite unisex in my opinion, and it has this incense-like depth, very leather and boyish. It has its delayed, hidden sweetness and some green notes which I appreciate. But because of the effect it has on me, I will not be wearing it anymore. I don't think any other scent from Dedcool had that effect on me.

I just got a discovery kit this was the first one I put on. I was so excited to try it based on the notes, but it smells awful on me. I sprayed some into the cap and I liked how it smelled but on my skin it is super bitter. For the first half hour or so it almost smelled like cigarette smoke. Now all I am getting is a bitter green scent with a little bit of juniper berry. I am so sad it doesn't work with my skin.

This smells like an overpowering air freshener to me. Normally I'm a fiend for sandalwood, but this is just a wall of patchouli that becomes headache-inducing. It's not for me, but I suppose you could give it a shot if you like the smell of those cheap green pine-shaped air fresheners that you can find at a gas station.

Got this in a discovery pack - I don’t get any woodiness on me. I get sticky sweet candy - the person who said cherry coke nailed it. It’s a bit too sweet for me to wear but it is an interesting scent i think for winter

Very fall candle-like. It doesn’t really smell like a personal fragrance to me, but if you like Lord of Misrule by Lush, you might like this.

Smells like campfire. It actually made me nauseated. It was powerful though, wouldn’t come off my skin even with scrubbing.

This smells like an essential oil potion some old bat at a renaissance festival would try and sell you. An instant scrubber. It’s astringent and herbaceous and very sharp.

Summary: it smells like the Salvation Army. At first I thought I liked it but then it has this sweet thrift store smell :( Guessing without knowing: top- mint, cassis, licorice, lemon. Middle- balsam, tea tree, fig, patchouli. Base- cypriol, fir, salty vanilla, palo santo. Reading the notes... I didn’t get any floral, trying to sniff out the floral... It's fruity not floral to me, but then I realize chamomile is very fruity in a strange way... Looked up ingredients and I'm fairly certain the floral notes are chamomile, elderflower, violet (although elderflower and chamomile seem to be listed in all their fragrances in varying amounts aka it's in the DNA of Dedcool). Green could be green tea, seaweed, fir, and vetiver. I can see the sandalwood base, it’s a creamy powdery sandalwood. The juniper berry top is reading as citrus-licorice and aromatic currants, it’s a little acrid but that aspect fades on the dry down. Very fruity. Ok, looked it up and while I'm sure there's juniper, what I'm smelling from the ingredients might be pomegranate, rose hip, grapefruit, coumarin, hops, fir, and linalool. 02 is refreshing, comforting, and grounding. It’s aromatic, sweet, and green floral, with musk/sandalwood in the dry down. Almost a little smokey but in a menthol + amber way. It really smells like sugary cassis! Also, I’m not entirely sure what cypriol (nagarmotha) smells like but I feel this definitely could have some. Edit: I went to the gym. What it’s smelling like after 4 hours, and a sweat, is white musk-patchouli-sandalwood with a sweetness reminiscent of fenugreek, but somehow the sweet fenugreek part is only on the outside of my arm, it must be my arm hairs that kept that note preserved. Edit (2nd): I do wanna note todays' wear, before it fades to sandalwood, reminded me of the smell of a goodwill... that odd smell of all the different detergents blended together, which is weird.. nostalgic (will I find something cute exploring the racks?). And I'm pretty sure what is giving it that accord is the florals [chamomile/pomegranate, also lavender & violet (common detergent notes).] Not sure if I can handle the strong associations with an unwashed thrift shop sweater... it’s a little too sweet and dirty for me. And it’s definitely not spicy enough for me... idk how 2 of the accords listed are “spicy”... I mean I guess if juniper berry and a sweet patchouli is considered spicy... but it isn’t spicy. It’s sweet and balsamic.

This fragrance has many interesting minor ingredients including yerba mate leaf extract, pomegranate, hops extract, carrot, marshmallow, seaweed, ginseng, grapefruit, rosehip, and white tea. I guess that the sweet fruits and flowers are supposed to help boost the top note of juniper. However when I spray this perfume on myself, I can only smell the carrot along with the smoky and leathery base of sandalwood. My boyfriend likes the smell of this perfume though, glad it's unisex. I think the smell is interesting and pleasant but because of the slightly expensive pricetag of $90 per bottle I wish it had a stronger sillage than being moderate at most. If you want to get this at a discount it's selling on End. Clothing's website at 69 quid for a 50 mL bottle.

Oh my god this is so good. Was my go-to everyday scent long ago after I found it in a boutique in Marfa TX. Reminds me of the desert and music festivals. Just now revisiting a sample and it’s even better than I recall. Very piney but with a berry sweetness that makes it delicious and a bit boozy. I get patchouli but it’s dry and zesty. This is a spicy woody scent that can be worn in the heat. It’s bright and earthy, crisp and grounded at the same time. Very much unisex. There’s a sweet muskiness in the base leaning a bit fem on my skin, mostly because it beckons one to come closer in a sensual way. I love this and know it will be unique when people catch a whiff of it. Signature worthy.

This is one of my very favorites from the Dedcool lines because it is so intensely creamy. It is fresh and the juniper/evergreen is evident, but not so much that you feel like a candle. Rather, the fresh bite of the juniper is smoothed over by tons of creamy sandalwood. It keeps its edge and seems to be more than the sum of its parts, but is also so incredibly smooth and rich because of the woodiness. This is like waking up to an incredible sunrise in the breathtaking cold, but being warm inside your own tent paradise. Not a safe blind buy but dedcool has made me a woody perfume person for sure. I absolutely love this.

i own this and wear it regularly but i dont really have anything to say about it. this isn't a bad thing, its the scent i wear when i dont have time to think about what im going to wear. its winter now, and i love spraying this on a jumper because it blends so well with a soft wool smell i assume the people who say that this smells like christmas to them are from the northern hemisphere (im not) because i dont get that at all, just a woodsy g&t and a lil patchouli

This smells like a hippie Christmas in the '70s. Or a Grateful Dead concert in the '90s sans the BO. It's so patchouli, green and woody. You want to wear Birkenstocks, with tye dye tees, with a hemp choker, and eat granola and edibles. It's a genuinely cool earthy, woody, mossy scent. I think the patchouli mid to sandalwood base dry down is fabulous. I think it would smell wonderful on a man, and be a great layering fragrance for a woman.

I'm so confused about the tester I got vs. the scent description vs. other reviews. Maybe the formula is really inconsistent? The only thing I smelled when I sprayed this was straight gummy candy. On dry down, much less offensive but that's still mostly all I smell. Nothing woody, juniper, or green. Apart from not smelling overly chemically/synthetic, it smells like a teeny bopper fragrance to me.

Reminded me of something that I couldn't place, took me all day. Then I realized - Pineward (I'm surprised no one has mentioned it). It smells like several of Pineward's scents, which is to say it's delicious. Coniferous woodsy with just a hint of fruit at the edges that doesn't last to the drydown. Very much what another reviewer called green apple smoke. The drydown is smoky woody goodness.

I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of and it dawned on me that it smells like a candle from the early 80’s that my mom had from Avon. It has a nostalgic vibe to it at first spray but from then the dry down fell short for me. Not my signature scent but also not offensive.
