Aphrodite's Slipper Orchid

I'm currently sampling Demeter's Orchid Collection sample pack. Aphrodite's Slipper sounded sexy, so I'm trying that first. I got a sweet blast of honey and orchid right away, I was worried that it was so sweet it was going to give me a headache. Luckily, the hay kicked in, a greener smell to mellow it. It reminded me more of a fern smell, with the orchid, like grandma's orchid corsage. It's a very fresh fragrance for a floral, I will wear this again on a hot summer day.

Aphrodite's Slipper Orchid opens with a fresh green earthy spicyness. It gradually lifts and relaxes into a slightly sweet hay scent. The honey is not too sweet or heavy. Unlike some reviewers below, this doesn't make me feel very sexy, but spicy greens are not my thing. It is a very realistic garden scent: a spicy green orchid planted in fresh turned earth, with a sun-kissed hay finish.

This is my 1st Demeter fragrance order. I love it! I heard that you have to be very careful when picking out fragrances from this line. They can be either pleasant and lovely or disasters. This is one of the better scents from Demeter Fragrance. This is an orchid with a spicy maturity, like a gorgeous woman in a Greek goddess white robe, her big breasts almost spilling out. Every note is womanly and sexy: honey, cinnamon, orchid and a touch of cloves. Most of all I smell the honey and cinnamon combination which is very similar to tea. It smells like putting honey in your cinnamon tea. It's spicy and floral with an orchid that lasts for a long time, pink, satiny, sweet. It's interesting. I feel very sexy wearing this and I keep thinking of Alexandra Tydings the blonde actress who played Aphrodite in the 90's TV series Hercules The Legendary Journeys and Xena Warrior Princess. She smells of sweet orchid and honey. This is mature and nocturnal so I wear this out on dates. I don't have to reapply as I spray it in the air and walk into it with my clothes on and the scent lingers on my clothes. I've received many compliments on it. Beautifully seductive honey orchid.

Fragrance Review For Aphrodite's Slipper Orchid Demeter Fragrance Notes: Orchid, cinnamon, cloves, honey hay What is this concoction and how did they ever recreate the smell of hay? I'm not sure how this is supposed to evoke the Greek goddess Aphrodite or one of her sexy slippers but this is a sweet and very lovely orchid perfume. I adore orchid as a floral fragrance. I think this is aromatic, sweet, strong but wearable and very very sexy and seductive. And for a Demeter fragrance it wears for a longer time than the other ones. This alluring aroma was on me for over 5 to 6 hours. It's a satiny orchid, pink and sexy. I could also smell the honey which is probably the strongest of the accords. The cloves are also a very nice aromatic touch. There could be a missing note of light musk or indolic jasmine as well as sandalwood. The hay note is really there too, but it's probably just a chemically reproduced scent. This is a gorgeous sexy and uncommon perfume.

An unusual and very beautiful fragrance. It reminded me of Imaginary Authors L'Orchidee Terrible. This has a gorgeous orchid which stands out and lets you smell it for a while before it turns spicy, very very spicy. I was afraid it was going to turn too spicy but it's well balanced. The aromatic notes of cinnamon and cloves are very strong but fortunately the honey comes in and sweetens everything. For the life of me I can't figure out how anyone can make hay into a fragrance note. And I can't smell it. This is a sweet honeyed orchid. It lasts a longer time than usual for a Demeter fragrance, about 3 hours (that's a lot for Demeter fragrances). Very well done.
