Banana Flambee

It’s ridiculous to say according to the price I guess but I LOVE IT. I am not really talking about this scent in terms of day to day perfume as long as you don’t want to smell like a literal food but... exactly this: LITERAL food. And also GOOD one. I ordered it hoping for to go back in time to my Mexico summer. I ate there hot banana-caramel-shortbread dessert; small, great restaurant at the beach full of wild crabs. I felt in love with that taste and I missed it so much! Happily this plain bottle become expected to be time travel machine. I am really impressed. For me, this scent have two stages. First one is real life yummy bananas. And then I can fell something what I can imagine can be felt as something synthetic and unpleasant. But not for me. For me is shortbread in its truest shade. Not sugary, bad bakery-ish. Gourmand, classy, SALTY with a perfect pitched note of burned edges. Also that second stage last on my skin really long. I sprayed my wrists while laying in bed before sleeping and next morning it were still with me! Big big big recommendation! <3

In the air, I get a caramelized banana, cognac & banana laffy-taffy, up close on the skin I get cinnamon, vanilla & sugary baked goods. This is a pretty good portrayal of banana flambée, especially in the air, but if you're looking for fresh banana you might be disappointed as this is definitely a cooked one. Up close it does smell like a Demeter gourmand scent with that baked goods accord. I'm not sure how this compares to Ambrosia Imperiale Navitus, but compared to banana scents like Sira des Indes Jean Patou, this is way more gourmand and less balmy/creamy (although there is a little creaminess here from the caramelized banana). It leaves an oily sheen on the skin, like most Demeter scents I've tested, and for an EDC it has excellent performance - on the skin it has good projection for 1-2 hours and lasts about 3-4 hours total. On clothing it lasts a fair bit longer, even detectable the next day a tiny bit. This is for gourmand lovers, as it's sweet gourmand-y deliciousness. Love it.

mmmm BANANA! The banana is really strong, sweet and synthetic at first and reminds me of banana candy...Banana Laffy Taffy. ...But at the same time its totally BANANA BREAD...with the sweet bread and banana bread spices - a little nutmeg like. As it wears there is a sort of delicious flambe cooking banana smell. The scent becomes more creamy banana syrup sweet as it wears and less of the spice notes -- or they are more blended out and its really nice. So the "nutmeg spice" that I pick up on... it's kinda almost a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg, but it is NOT too much or too strong. I don't really smell distinctly "oh this is cinnamon." Its very muted/baked in kind of thing. About 2 hours in I was like OMG I smell SO YUMMY! I seriously CRAVED banana something or other! Very nice scent! Love it! I need to re-wear for longevity testing. I know I got at least 4 hours (fell asleep LOL)

As the self-proclaimed queen of artificial banana, I needed to have this in my collection. I FINALLY got this scent for Christmas and on the first spray, I could tell it was exactly what I was hoping for. It is the best kind of artificial banana followed by a tunnel vision to slicing a freshly baked loaf of banana bread in your narcissistic grandmother's kitchen, in the best way possible. About an hour in, it begins to fade like all Demeter fragrances do, but the smell of rummy banana bread still remains. Almost 3 hours later and the scent is still lingering. The scent hasn't changed, just bit more mute, but I do have to put my arm to my nose to get a good smell of it. At this point it is so softly baked into my skin that I am the loaf and the loaf is me.

Every perfume I own by Demeter has been nothing less than the exact replication of the real scent, as close as the nose can get! This one is no exception. It's hard to find any scents at all with banana notes it them, so I was super excited to smell this one when it finally arrived at my house. I literally just sat there and smelled my wrists until I had to leave....It is the perfect balance of sweetness mixed with the REAL scent of banana. The cinnamon and vanilla make it more realistic to use as a perfume, rather than walking around smelling just like a giant banana. I had so many compliments of people who walked past me and asked "what is that amazing banana smell?!". I bought the small .5oz of this, and the second it's gone im buying the big one!!

OOHH MY GOSH, I love this banana fragrance! It has mellowed down after ~20 minutes, which is reasonably expected with Demeter Fragrances. I'm about to buy the full-sized one because it's SO good. It reminds me of a craft store like Michaels and JoAnns during the fall, where the cinnamon and spiced candles overpower the store. It starts with a yummy spiced and sweet banana bread scent and later dries to a spiced bread scent. I would compare this to a lighter Nanatopia by BORNTOSTANDOUT, and I think it would enhance it well if it were layered. With the price compared to other spiced banana fragrances? I think its worth it. Especially if used for something to strengthen so-called fragrances.

This opens with a burst of sweet artificial banana. I personally love artificial banana scents...milkshake, those little gummy sweets and, my personal favourite, the banana cough syrup prescribed by my doctor when I was four...one of my earliest memories was loving that cough syrup taste. A few seconds in, the banana is equally matched by a delicious cinnamon biscuit scent, which reminds me of the digestive biscuit base on cheesecakes and millionaire shortbread. I really like this scent, the only negative is the lasting power. While the "Butterscotch" fragrance by this brand has nuclear weapon silage and lasting power,this barely lasts an hour on me.

I love banana scents and imo there are not enough of them on the market. THIS cures my craving. Bananas, bananas, and more bananas with a heavy dose of warm spice. I get compliments every.single.time. I wear this - almost to the point where I get semi-annoyed at having to tell people what I'm wearing. It's a hit! Long lasting (especially for a Demeter scent) and silage is good! Smells like fresh banana bread but it works as a fragrance - I don't feel strange walking around smelling like a food.

I got the 4oz bottle for $7 with shipping and for that price this is amazing. It kinda smells like salty buttered popcorn with banana on top. Definitely more salty savory than sweet. The smell is very good but it doesn’t last long. You need to go very heavy on the sprayer, 10-15 sprays, just a few sprays this disappears

Its definitely not a natural banana scent. Its very sweet and warm rather than earthy. Its perfect if you want to smell like banana bread and it opens pretty alcoholic but it settles so well! Def would buy again and is a good price for the product.

It really does smell like burnt, carmelized bananas. So warm. Amazing for fall and summer. Scent changes with the weather from sweeter in hot summer and warmer and more toasty in the cooler weather. Love. This. Scent.

smells just as it should like banana flambee. you wont smell of alcohol, but merely a spiced banana-esque scent. lovely but short lasting power.

Very warm realistic nutty banana essence. Extremely pleasant banana aroma. It definitely makes you say Mmmmmmmmm. It doesn't strike me as banana flambee: no alcohol present on my skin. You will smell mostly like fresh baked banana nut bread.... and I don't know anyone who doesn't like the smell of that. I can see this definitely being a people pleaser... although they might try to nibble on you... or search your purse for the concealed baked goods!!! Definitely baked banana - definitely yum. A+ for execution. I like it. I think I'll try layering this one with Demeter Angel Food. It's FUN! This review is for the splash.

When I got this I absolutely hated it the first 2 weeks. I loved the banana but there was a strong biscuity note throughout the scent that completely ruined it for me. I almost gave it away to a friend when I decided to try it one more time and I'm so glad I did. It smells amazing now. That harsh biscuit note that I smelled is so much softer and less in your face now. It stays nicely on the background and lets the banana do the rest of the work. I can see why other people like it now. Now when I spray this I feel fluffy and cozy. She took her time but she came through in the end.

Cinnamon banana... This smells so edible, just like a banana gingerbread cake that morphs into oatmeal with cinnamon sprinkled on top. The banana note doesn't stay very long on my skin, after 20 minutes it's quite faint but it's ok as this is so yummy anyway. No cognac tho. I will enjoy this flambée in the cool autumn and around Christmas, it also works as a room scent, as others mentioned. Mild/moderate sillage/longevity, lasts around 3-4 hours on me but much longer on clothes; it rubbed off onto my scarf and after 2 days it still smells like gingerbread cake :).

It definitely smells EXACTLY what other reviewers on here describes this scent: a banana bread with spices. I detect a cinnamon/nutmeg spice in here. I don't like the spice notes as much and I'm hoping that over time it will tone down. But even now, as it is, it is a very nice scent alone or layered. I really like it on clothes- one spray on clothes lasts longer and it smells more prominently banana.

As several have already mentioned, the banana note is so tragically short-lived. For about five minutes, though, this fragrance is actually perfect - it is photorealistic banana bread. Unfortunately, after that, it has kind of a potpourri vibe, which doesn't smell awful, but not really what I would choose to smell like. This could be nice to layer with a vanilla. Definitely not for warmer weather.

I can’t tell you how wide my eyes went when I first sprayed this. I thought my prayers had been answered. It smelled identical to banana bread 🤤 but within a couple minutes, the banana had faded significantly and I got a lot of spice. This is a very pretty fall or winter scent. I wish the banana note was as strong as it was in the beginning.

At first spray I was thinking "finally a real banana smelling perfume!" but then it changed into some sort of strange Yankee Candle smelling stuff. I still like it a lot though!

some scents i've tried has this disgusting weird bread note (pumpkin swirl cake bbw, avon gingerbread) this one has that, but its much milder. the banana disappears from the skin within a minute but lasts on clothes. I'm not complaining because I usually use demeter by spraying on clothes as they just don't last. wish I was getting the cotton candy dry-down someone else mentioned, but on me it just becomes gingerbread

To me it smells like popcorn immediately after spraying, maybe caramel popcorn - but I only get a whif of banana & spices from time to time. It develops into a more sugary scent after 2 minutes & then it dissapears. It sits on the skin & is not noticeable unless you stick your nose to the skin.

Smells like banana for about 5 minutes maximum, then it gets just sugar cotton candy you get at fairs and carnivals with a bit of bourbon vanilla notes.

Smells heavenly, for two minutes or less. Purchased the full size bottle of this along with Pistachio Ice Cream, Honey, and Fig Leaves from Demeter. Every perfume with the exception of Fig Leaves smells heavenly upon an initial spray, but as soon as it dries down its scent is completely lost to a bizarre, synthetic and almost dusty powder note. I tried to use this as a room spray, but still all I was left with after a minute or two was some strange powdery note. This is a very hyperrealistic gourmand fragrance, like BBW’s Banana Bundt Cake (my favorite candle ever) but with added caramel. I was deeply disappointed in this perfume and opted to just return it because it served as an expensive, and utterly useless room spray. I’ve been disappointed by Demeter time and time again, I’m not sure why they get so much hype. A couple of years back I purchased around 10 fragrance samples, all gourmand, and not single fragrance was useable. Graham cracker, Angel Food Cake, Blueberry Pie, Waffles and more. Every single one dried down to that nasty dust smell. It reminds me of the smell I’d get on my clothes when I came home from my 100 year old, non-renovated high school out in the country, or the smell that gets stuck in your nose after shopping at goodwill. Hard to explain, but very unpleasant. Fig Leaves in the only Demeter fragrance I’ve found to smell nice and have decent longevity.

(Reviewing the perfume oil) This isn’t what banana flambé smells like. This is banana flambé on a biscuit base. They Should have called it Banoffee Pie, because that's exactly what it smells like! If you don’t like that biscuity sort of accord then avoid this one. It goes away after about 5 minutes but so does the banana! You just get left with rum & sugar, which is nice but not what I wanted! Soooo sad about this one!

i barely detect banana in here, i think it smells like gingerbread and sugar, and has that holiday cinammony smell. I don't think that I want to smell like a walking/breathing gingerbread:/

Banana icecream at the top, melting in cinnamon, a little cognac and a lot of acetone at the base. Dissapointing.

Ive become a fan of Demeter. This is my 5th perfume from them. First one was the almond. Ive noticed with Demeter's gourmand perfumes that they open up smelling extremely realistic like food flavoring, like the realistic artificial flavors food companies use in food products (ice creams, etc) and as they settle on the skin, they start smelling more perfumey, sometimes alittle sugary and plastic like the almond one, but still very attractive and unique. The oily residue does not bother me as I have very dry skin, but for someone like my mom who has oily skin it might be an issue. This one opens up smelling like banana ice cream with cookie dough and possibly some liqueur in it. The sugar in it smells kinda like an ice cream waffle cone or cookie dough, like a Kroger ice cream (Kroger has some unique flavors) and 3 mins later I get a cinnamon scent, like Trident cinnamon, and it ends up smelling like Kroger's pumpkin ice cream with the cookie dough pieces in it, so cinnamon with cookie dough. Its still beautiful, but the banana does not last more than what 3 mins.. For a better banana scent I prefer BBW Bahamas Passionfruit & Banana Flower or Belize Tropical Cabana which smells like a tanning oil with banana. Ill keep testing this one.

I'm pregnant at the moment and have developed a fetish for banana smelling things. I spent a fortune on a blind buy of Jesus Del Pozo Quasar , due to the banana reviews it had, however I can't smell the slightest hint of banana in it. Maybe banana leaf is something completely different?? Anyway, ordered this online last week and wow!! Almost exactly what I was looking for, a nice sweet synthetic OTT banana smell in the opening. It reminded me of those little fairy cake kits that you make with kids, my favourite used to be the ones with banana icing, probably full of E-numbers but it brought back memories. This is a good substitute while I wait for a bottle of Lush Ladyboy to appear on eBay. That also has an amazing banana opening. Really think I'm obsessing a bit too much over bananas at the moment?!

i was eating a banana once and i thought to myself: there are too many perfumes out there with fruity ingredients, how about bananas? they sure smell nice and i gave this one a try, unfortunately, the bananas are totally overwhelmed by the other ingredients as if you are ordering a dessert in a restaurant with bananas in it... guess i can't complain since the name is Banana Flambee so it smells like it says, i spray it and i smell like dessert whatever that means =/ it's nice and there are times when i dig for a scent like that but it definitely won't be a staple in my perfume wardrobe call me crazy but i still prefer the smell of fresh bananas

I wanted to try a banana scent so I gave this a shot. To my nose this opens up with banana flavoured candies, so not a natural banana scent to me, wich is not a problem at all, in fact I was kinda expecting that. There is a very prominent graham cracker pie crust scent that takes over the whole composition quite quickly. I am not a fan of any type of pie crust scent, so that really ruins it for me. I get no cognac unfortunately. Lasting power is not great. But sprayed on clothes it does hang around for a few hours, with minimal to no sillage.

Not sure how to edit my comment but this is just an add on about the longevity- again it may be due to sensitive pregnancy nose but I sprayed one squirt of this on my chest this morning at 8am, it's 5.30pm and i still keep getting strong wafts of it. It was way too strong for early morning and made me feel a little sick but it's better once it's calmed down a bit (although the smell is very linear, hasn't changed at all)

Well i didn’t really have high hopes for this one but I purchased it to get an idea of how bond 9 nyn would smell. I don’t think it smells bad but it does smell cheap. To me smells like the yellow banana shaped candy as if you just opened the package. Not trying to be a snob but I would not want it again for free. I sprayed my whole closet maybe 30 sprays or so and 30min later could not smell a thing.

I have no idea what banana flambé even smells like but looked into this because I was wanting a banana scent. Wow this smells sooooooo good the banana doesn’t smell artificial to me at all, I was afraid of that Fake artificial banana smell but this smells so heavenly. The banana, sugar and Carmel work beautifully it’s very warm toasted sugary smell. I do wish it was more long lasting though.

I sampled this the other day...name says it all here!! Couldn't believe how accurate this smelled. Gives new meaning to the term 'reality perfume', ha! Smells like strong, sweet, caramelized banana. Delicious scent...however, I don't see how this is unisex. It's entirely too sweet and fruity. But then I also don't share the perspective of wanting to smell exactly like a dessert! ;)

this is extremely gourmand and synthetic. Smells exactly like a banana flavoured wafer i used to love back home. It's very sweet but not nauseating, yet it's so synthetic that it makes me wonder if it's more suitable as a room/car spray rather than a perfume(?) not long lasting but what do u expect? not for non-gourmand lovers.

Toasty banana bread is what I smell! It's very smoky/carmalized sweetness. The banana is baked,not fresh or green. Very sticky. Good for winter nights or casual days. I'm not sure I would wear this one to work as it's just so odd. A fun scent.

This smells like banana bread, straight up. It's not bad at all. The vanilla takes over after a while and a VERY sweet smell develops. This is very foody. So, if you're okay with that, go for it. Edit: There is definitely cinnamon in this.

This smells EXACTLY like banana flambee. Caramelized boozy bananas. Delicious. This makes me want to try more from Demeter considering how scrumptious this smells. Not fake smelling at all, it actually smells like real banana.

This banana for 2 Minutes. Then it only smells like biscuits and vanilla and a little touch of spices...Like all demeter perfume does not last at all. I use most of these as room spray.

Slightly spicy banana. Just lovely! I spray it on liberally, as it does tent to fade. But for the price, no worries. It can be refreshed throughout the day.

Begins with a sweet blast of candied banana and dries into a gingerbread scented candle. A bit synthetic but pleasant enough for the price.
