Cardamom

I purchased Cardamom in the massage/body oil. I love the Demeter Perfume Roll-Ons, I think they are vastly superior over the alcohol based sprays for longevity and sillage. I was curious to see if the massage body oil might be used as a perfume oil so I purchased this one in Cardamom. I am happy to say it lasts as long as the Roll-On perfumes. Considering you get a whopping 60mls for only a couple of dollars more over the 8.8ml roll-on this is a worthy investment. Leaves a wonderful trail of fragrance as well as moisturising your skin. This is pure Cardamom, nothing sweet added just the cracked pods. I don't think I would wear this out on its own but the great thing about these oils is you can layer them to make your own signature fragrance. I find Demeter Oils work great with Body Sprays, they just seem to add depth and the sprays last longer. Cardamom goes really well with Body Fantasies Signature Silver Lining Perfume.

I love this scent. But it is not the photorealistic cardamom I was hoping Demeter would deliver. I was looking for the sharp, biting, almost green cardamom scent of freshly ground pods. This is more warm and smoothed out. Its the scent of cardamom baked into cookies, sitting in a milky tea, rounded out with soft ginger and milk and sugar. Still a beautiful scent and cardamom is the hero, just not in the version of it I hoped for. Like most Demeter products, its not very long lasting and doesn't have crazy projection, but there is nothing else quite like it.

i was so excited to get this one in the mail, and it definitely lives up to my own hype. there is so much depth and warmth to this fragrance - i know this is said often about the demeter library, but this cardamom smells much more expensive and complex than it is. if you’re on the fence about buying, go for it. it’s soothing and comforting, almost gourmand, yet striking and assertive. lovely.

Spicy smooth cardamom with cinnamon bark. Sweet, jummy and perfect for christmas. I get gingerbread, spices.

Soft spicy earthy herbal cardamom scent, very realistic, very crude, like the actual ground cardamom I use in cooking. It starts off crude and earthy-spicy with the usual herbal green quality of cardamom and I agree with the reviewer below me that it smells like herbal tea in a good way, but it also has the spiciness of cardamom. It's not perfumey at first at all, and not sweet unlike the cardamom in KKW Nude Soleil or BBW Lost in Santal, but rather unisex and plain. It develops into a more creamy scent with subtle sweetness from the cinnamon in the mid stage and drydown. It's not a prominent cinnamon, but a soft warm sweetness smoothing out the crude spiciness of cardamom. Lasts about 30-40 mins on me, very short-lived. I still like it.

This is the most tea-ish scent demeter got more than the actual tea based scents in their collection (almost close to cloves than cardmom), but regardless it is still on point and has a good longevity, tho it is a bit niche for the wearing. Edit: I wore the sample anyways and the cardamom really started to grow on me, like a lot!, and it reminded me of the cardamom note from tom ford noir extreme which is actually bad compared to this, such a twist.....i think this might be the best & inoffensive cardamom for cardmom haters like me. I need to try this with caramel or orange citrus, and if possible both combos to find out if it makes a good layer, can't wait!

Along with the beautiful fruity scent of cardamom that dominates this fragrance there's also a very subtle coconut smell underneath it all. The fragrance is beautiful, smells almost exactly like a handful of cracked cardamom pods, which is what I was looking for. That being said, however, it's very short lived all wears I've had of it haven't lasted longer than about 1-2 hours. All in all it's a good scent, though.

I really liked this!! More than I was expecting actually. It smells exactly like how at the bottom of made-fron-scratch masala chai, there will be tiny bits of crushed cardamom and other spices that made it through the strainer. It’s the combination of cardamom, cinnamon, black tea, milk, and sugar smell. I really havent smelled another perfume like this. I dont pick up coconut at all like some other comments say

This fragrance is a sweet warm cardamom scent. It is very upfront and doesn’t seem to transform a lot, although very pleasant. It is truly as if a warm cardamom drink was handed to you! It’s very much a skin scent as well and leaves a nice light trail. I think this wouldn’t be offensive and great for the office or work place.

really strong coconut scent at first for me. after a minute, the cardamom seeps through. reminds me of my mom grinding cardamom pods for chai. also the warm shea butter/coconut note reminds me of getting my hair done. really nostalgic. wish it lasted longer - was gone after an hour.

I have to agree with everyone it does smell like fresh cracked pods of cardamom with a hint of coconut. Very pleasing.

Big cardamom lover over here. But this is like 40% cardamom and 60% coconut to me. Nooo clue why. I don't dislike it though.

This, unfortunately, didn't mix well with my chemistry. It ended up smelling like old dirt on my skin. Thankfully, in this instance, longevity was fleeting.

I agree that there's a smidgen of coconut in this rather pleasant fragrance (who let the coconuts out - they're everywhere these days?)but the overwhelming impression I get is of Butter Cardamom Shortbread Biscuits (that's cookies to Americans). Very buttery. I don't even know if they're a thing, but they will be soon as I get time. I feel I could knock a batch up just on the strength of smelling this stuff. Quite pleasant, but more frankly culinary than the few other cardamom fragrances I've tried. It's not too expensive, so you could also spray it around the kitchen for a nice touch.

This smells like chai tea with cardamom! It’s so lovely! I think layered with something vanilla/milky, or maybe something a little citrus for the summer, it would be a real show stopped. I like my perfume light so I’m not mad at the lack of projection.

Cardamom with a little sweet cinnamon . I wish this was stronger. No big whoop. (The review BELOW me is eroticizing this a bit too much! Calm down , honey).
