Crème Anglaise

I find that Demeter fragrances open with a blast of alcohol, and tend to have poor longevity. That being said, it is a decadent, creamy scent once it settles. Their fragrances are quite inexpensive and perfect for layering, and this one is no exception. Anyone who has smelled it on me has said it's delicious!

Yummy artificial French Vanilla ice cream scent. Great if you want people to salivate smelling you, but less great if you’re wanting something refined or nuanced. I like the sample but probably won’t buy a larger size.

Vanilla waffle cone and alcohol upon first spray, drying down to a vaguely vanilla-ish chemical, burnt plastic scent. Dissappointing for sure.

Like many Demeter scents, this opens with a sharp blast of pure alcohol that lingers, but in this case never goes away. The dry down is just a basic vanilla. It's worse than those cheap vanilla body fantasy sprays you can grab at your local drugstore. It's not at all worth your money.

I don’t know, why this is an amber scent, and not a gourmand. It clearly is gourmand for me. I bought this as a present for someone, and could not resist to swatch it, so I sprayed it on my pyjamas. It starts with a very synthetic, alcoholic wave, but soon settles into a warm, cosy vanilla scent. Vaguely resembles to Absolute Aphrodisiac, but without the “beast” in it. Of course, being a cheap scent, it has no projection, you really have to sniff it from very close, but the lasting power not bad at all: a good couple of hours on my pyjamas. It’s winter now, so it may beheave different in summer. It is surprisingly a nice fragrance, if you like plain, simple, linear gourmands, give it a try. You can use it as a car scent, a home fragrance, or simply spray it into your closet.
