Dregs

Here's why I bought 5 ml of Demeter's Dregs: I wanted to pair it with Narciso Rodriguez Fleur Musc (NRFM) to get a "wine and roses" accord. (Why there isn't a classic fragrance like this in existence is beyond me). The day I first tried a sample of NRFM, I got a fleeting sense of a wine-and-roses accord before the dry down. I enthusiastically bought a bottle assuming I would always experience it. Unfortunately the bottle of NRFM itself only smells of musky rose to me, without the red wine note. So when I learned of Demeter Dregs, I bought it thinking I could add the "missing" wine note. However, after trying Dregs three times now, with and without NRFM, I'm disappointed. To my nose, Dregs smells more of grapes than of wine. Matter of fact, to me it smells quite sweet, akin to grape KoolAid. I'm not quite sure how I'll use the rest of my Dregs decant, beyond possibly gifting it. I'm glad it was not expensive. I would add, if Dregs had resembled a true red wine note to my nose, I would likely have been happy with how long it lasts, as I find I smell of sweetened grape juice for some time! 🦋🧡🦋

Pure Isabella grapes, really sweet. Never quite figured how to layer it, so i traded it away in the end.

Smells a bit like grape cough medicine and nail polish remover at first, dries down into CHEAP red wine for about 15 minutes, then boom, it’s gone. Super disappointing since I’ve been looking for a good wine fragrance. This ain’t it.

Purple drink, purple Kool-Aid, purple jam. I don't get wine at all. My husband says he smells something a touch floral but then said sherbert. I think this has been misnamed, unfortunately since it's a lovely concept.

This fragrance really does have the scent of wine. I absolutely love Dregs along with many of the other Demeter line. Demeter is such a wonderful choice for a comfort fragrance...something that brings back a happy memory or feeling. They do not have longevity, but I just carry the bottle with me for a refresher during the day.
