Earthworm

I love this passionately. Very much the smell of the wet dirt you might find an earthworm in, like you're crouching above the forest floor after a rain, which obviously means this scent has certain limitations. A lot of people dislike it, and in the many environments the rotting leaf smell is not appropriate and will worry people. To me it's very comforting and smells like a warm summer night. Also, I have this in the cologne and the bath and body oil, and the oil is MUCH stronger. People smelled it from the other room when I used some after a shower. My other demeter bath oil is also like that, and all my colognes are way weaker and not really viable after 15 minutes. So maybe try the oils if you really like any demeter scents!

I have Dirt, Earthworm and Beetroot. Earthworm is the most photorealistic potting soil of the three. Dirt is a little more like a traditional cologne and more on the aromatic-green side. I smell tomato leaf in it. It reminds me a bit of Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. Earthworm is just straight up true-to-life wet potting soil. Beetroot has more of a dusty petrichor vibe. Less potting soil and more wet asphalt. I do smell beet but for me it reminds me most of a rainy city in autumn, whereas the other two are squarely a garden scent (one just the potting soil, and one the greenhouse itself) I hope this might help anyone who was looking at these three. I love all three and they are all quite similar, but I can still tell each one apart.

It's just such a shame that the sillage and longevity are nonexistent for me, but this is magnificent. It is the fluffy, black, mineral filled potting soil in your houseplants or garden. Wet and fresh, cool and delicious. 100% Unisex. Cute to friends wear or couples wear it with someone who wears Demeter's Dirt or Flower Show. You would smell like an actual garden, I'm not even exaggerating. I always say Demeter is like those crazy things Maude put into an odd contraption and showed Harold, in the film Harold & Maude, that supposedly captured the experience of particular sense memories.

Finally got to sample this in-person and oh my! It smells pretty much exactly like wet, rich, dark soil. Absolutely beautiful smell if you're the type to appreciate it! Instantly teleports me outdoors. I will say I'm a bit of a hypocrite and ended up getting Wet Garden because it's more wearable...but I do plan on adding this one to my collection eventually, even if it's just so I can smell it at home lol (Wet Garden doesn't have amazing silage or longevity, and Demeter is known to fade quickly so I don't doubt the reviews that it doesn't stay for long)

Smells exactly like the Home Depot garden section - damp earth, with that slight metallic note found in potting soil. I love it. It brings up memories of walking among potted plants and gardening supplies; when I wore it, I kept smelling my wrist and it would take me right there, reminding me of good green work in the outdoors.

That's just amazing. The ultimate smell of damp earth. Love it. Demeter's 'Dirt' is nothing compared to this. I hear "Earthworm' is soon gonna be off the market, so hurry up and grab some earth while it's there.

A pretty spot on photorealistic potting soil scent. It is very accurate. Love it. Perfect as is or paired with any floral.

This one makes me laugh every time! Oh, poor poor sister...#noRAGrets #sorrynotsorry I always played in the dirt to catch worms as a kid. My great-grandma ...raised? them to sell to the local fishermen as bait or whatever (she kept them in this giant cement coffin-looking thing, so I guess that's raising them, although it sounds more like she imprisoned them now I think about it). And I mess around with plants now as an adult and sometimes even manage to not kill them! So now that I have listed my references as to Why I Know Dirt, I can say this is a good "dirt" scent! Moist, EARTHY. Like the dirt that stays in shady places and always has things decomposing in it. How they ever got this into perfume form has got to be WITCHCRAFT. As to the worm part...there might be hints of it there, but it's not the gross protein-y smell associated with dead worms or anything. It really does just smell like rich soil. On paper AND on skin. I find it very pleasant, even after it fades and turns into a pretty, soft "green" scent. EDIT: Hours later and this STILL smells great.

I LOVE Earthworm!!! It's literally just this beautiful rich wet soil smell. I can picture holding a big handful of dark soil in my hands. I love the damp notes to it. It makes me think of a forest floor, or playing in a garden. At the moment I just smell it right from the bottle every now and then, but I can't wait to try layering this with different smells. It'll be great to add a grungy dirty vibe to anything floral or sweet. I've also tested Dirt by Demeter, but all I can remember is thinking that Earthworm was clearly superior, with a richer and more accurate smell. If you're in the market for a petrichor smell I reccomend giving Earthworm a test! Being Demeter it isn't very powerful of long lasting but it's such an interesting and (in my mind) true-to-it's-name scent.

I bought this perfume out of pure intrigue... I was intrigued by how they will recreate the title Once I sprayed it though, the initial smell of cool crisp steel crystallised an image in my head.... It was the memory of a hot afternoon as a child, you're playing on your own there was a steel drum that holds and stocks water. The water had been there under the sun day and night for weeks. I would play with the water and the smell of steel and water mixed together produces that crisp smell that for some reason invigorates you and wakes your senses . Its a smell that stays with you Perfumes, like food take you back to that place and moment long forgotten but hidden inside the mind Intriguing

Really wanted to try this frag and finally got it. For me all Demeter frags were successful blindbuys and Earthworm wasn’t an exception. I wanted the smell of earthworms and I got it. It’s a true wet composted soil, bitter, tart, even slightly acidy. It’s like if you bend to the garden bed to explore small holes made in wet soil by earthworms. It even has petrichor notes! The more you sniff it - the more bitter taste you get on your tongue. Somehow this frag resembles Zombie for Him, but without fungus and stone notes.

I have zero farming experience but I do have a ton of plants. Earthworm is the smell of a good quality potting soil. Or, better yet, if you mix your own: really moist peat moss with a generous amount of worm castings. Not sure what I expected. Should have trusted y'all when you said this is hyperrealistic wet soil I guess. Longevity just under 2 hours with a moderate sillage.

A simple, enjoyable dirt-esque smell. I love to use this for layering & more "abstract" outfits (costumes!)... I can agree it smells slightly smilar to beets, though there is definitely something else in this to differentiate it from Demeter's Dirt. Wish I could pinpoint it, but I just cant figure it out.

At first I was scared because this smelled like wet mold, on an old building. Left it a little bit and when I sniffed again, it even had some sweet notes. I love it ! Very interesting scent.

Smells like worms crawling out on to an asphalt road after a rain. Then getting runover! Neat, nostalgic and nauseating! Yes, I totaly bought this... with money.

Earthworm to me is like Dirt Pie dessert without the gummy worms. It's chocolatey to me, in an earthy way. I love it! It must be just me though, because everyone I've shown it to says it literally smells like worms. Unfortunately it lasts only seconds on my skin :(

This is a very photorealistic soil scent, which is a scent that I love in real life. However, this fragrance smells very synthetic in a way that is nauseating to me. It turned me off of perfume for a bit. It also lasts 15 minutes tops and has zero projection. I had high hopes and was disappointed, but still worth a try for the price point.
